Grounds beautiful but pools were cold. Staff very friendly. Good location.
The only thing was the room was very dark and had no balcony. It was on the ground with only a window , not even a sliding door. It felt very clastiphobic . The so called kitchen was a coffee maker and microwave on a microwave cabinet. When I asked to be moved they said no other rooms available. Which I found hard to believe since it wasn’t very busy. So if you are thinking of this place call to be sure what you are getting. It was disappointing to end our trip staying here for this reason. Not what we were expecting.

The kitchen had a very off putting smell. The biggest concern was the pull out couch. It was absolutely tiny that my daughter who is about 5’2” was too tall. And even worse there was a metal bar digging into her back when she lay down. Three of us had to sleep in the one bed which was not optimal at all.

Great place to stay, we had a view of the pool, and past it ocean, easy to get to ocean! Great balcony, well equipped kitchen. Great outdoor covered restaurant, always prompt with food, beautiful view from there. Lovely well kept grounds. Large grocery store across the street, handy to food and restaurants!

The property was well maintained. The kids enjoyed visiting the multiple pools. They did not want to go to the beach because of the crocodile warning sign posted at the beach. The rooms came with filtered water which was a huge benefit. They refilled it while we were there. Rooms are spacious. We had two bathrooms/shower plus a kitchen. It was villita. We went into town daily using public transportation. The bus stops right in front of the grounds. There are shops directly across the street too.

We had a bad experience. Our condo was not ready at 3:00 pm and they checked us in anyway! We waited in the staircase for over 45 minutes with a party of 7 including a 4 year old and a 5 month baby in a 89 degree weather. Then the room was not cleaned. It was recent remodel and all the surfaces were dusty and the floors cover with clay dust. Toiletries, towels and bathrooms were all covered with hair and clay dust. We had to way an additional hour, for a second cleaning the following morning. We had a 6 night stay and we lost water for half a day on our 4th day and no one notify us. On the fifth day my 4 year old’s face and neck was covered with bed bug bites. We just took hug to the doctor and required allergy medication. We are very disappointed for how much we paid. We should get a refund.

Got there the lock box did not work or the house phone can’t call the front desk backs and forth 3 times finally . Got someone to fix it , the manager Veronica could give a care they did not even ask me how was my stay. At ready and on the last day I found steel wool in my eggs no jokes , they did not even apologize nor did I get to speak to the manager . This was like 7 th time I have say there I won’t be back, oh not enough shade in the pool areas and the most uncomfortable beach chairs you could ever imagine . Come on Mexico time to step it up a notch. There just really unfriendly to Americans.

Buildings are older inside but have all the amenities you need. We had a studio with full kitchen. If something is missing, a call to front desk fixes it. All was in working order, but housekeeping could be more consistent. Grounds are beautiful and pools very well maintained. Restaurant offers good food choices and a happy hour. Local vendors available where grounds meet beach, so take advantage of fresh baking and fruit. No shade other than from palm trees around pools, so you get used to moving your lounger around. Kids were at most pools but were well behaved. Exterior building maintenance ongoing while we were there, but was kept to daytime and shows they are taking care of things. Small onsite store has anything you need. Water coolers in each room - just call front desk when a refill is needed. In-room safe available inside closet. Plenty of clothes hanging space. Have to ask for hairdryer, as there wasn’t one in any of our rooms. Kitchen utensils varied from room to room - ie quantity of plates, glasses, etc. Bring bug repellent as mature landscaping has plenty of mosquitoes. Rooms have little noise insulation from neighbors.

I'm been going to Los Tules the las ten years, Love the tropical feeling all around, the rooms are mexican style it feels warm and cultural. So many pools, they never full of people and the view of the Sea is Priceless. Many restaurants around and also a nice shopping mal in front of it. LOVE IT.

I stayed at Los Tules Villas in Puerto Vallarta with my kids, and we had a great time! The location is perfect—everything you need is within a short walk, and the pools were a big hit with the kids. It really felt like a relaxing and convenient place for a family vacation. The tropical vibe and the peaceful surroundings made for a lovely stay.

The property has a great atmosphere, though the rooms are a little older and could benefit from some updates and extra attention. However, it didn’t take away from the overall enjoyment of our time there.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Los Tules. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are good enough and the daily housekeeping is very good. It's fun to have so many pools to choose from. The restaurant is convenient, and we enjoyed several meals there (mostly breakfast). Be aware: although Expedia states the Villitas have King beds, that is not strictly true -- some do, and some have 2 double beds. Our first room was up several flights of stairs, culminating in a small spiral staircase to finally get to our Villita. Although the view would have been beautiful, the double beds and stairs difficulty were a no go for us. We were able to switch rooms to a 1st floor near the restaurant -- it was a studio without a view, but a better accommodation for us. Access to the bus system is convenient (bus stop is right out front), and between Uber and the busses we could readily get to and from El Centro and the romantic zone. We'd prefer a bit closer to town, but the location is a nice compromise, and the bank and shopping center with grocery store right across the street are convenient. If you are looking for a beautiful setting, right on the beach, with nice pools, Los Tules is a good choice.

The setting was beautiful, with multiple pools with adequate loungers most of the time. An additional plus was that many of the pools were kid friendly. The staff at the restaurant in the facility were gracious and food and drinks excellent. The room itself had seen better days, and the cleaning/supplying of towels, and shampoo was inconsistent during our stay.

Wonderful stay even after a rough start

Los Tules is a wonderful resort with large grounds and a great variety of vegetation and wild creatures. The resort is located right on the ocean front but also has several lovely well maintained pools. There is only one restaurant but it is very good.
Our stay would have been excellent except that the 8 young fellows in the next room were intent upon partying with loud music and shouting until 3:30 AM. We complained to thee management and the next day the hotel had a stern talk with the young guys and they stopped the bad behaviour at night so we were able to get good sleep for the remaining nights.

Hidden gem in Puerto Vallarta

Serene, apartment hotel right on the beach. Loved the low density, coconut tree filled property, large beach front and uncrowded pools compared to the all-inclusive resorts next door. Highly recommend!

We had a great stay at los tules. Loved the spacious room and the friendly staff. Kitchen and room/bathroom had all the basics. Kids loved all the pools (especially the deeper one and the one by the restaurant) and the beautiful property. We saw iguanas and lizards and lots of birds. Great location to go to the beach or town or the mall across the street for groceries. There is also lots of restaurants nearby. Staff were pleasant and helpful! Quiet place - seemed to be mostly families or retirees. Margaritas and other drinks/food from the onsite restaurant were great as well! This hotel seemed to have the most beachfront and biggest grounds compared to hotels nearby!

It was a little confusing where to check in as it was also a timeshare, but the staff was kind and pointed us in the right direction. Most of the staff knew English which was awesome since my Spanish is so poor. The room was great, with a beautiful view of one of the eight pools and ocean. Finding the room was a little tricky and we were on the top floor, which meant a lot of srairs, including the last spiral, narrow staircase leading to the room, but we got used tonit pretty quickly. All in all, great experience and I will go back!

The property is in a very good location.
Beautiful area and grounds. Park like setting.
Small number of rooms for the size of property making it feel very private. Very wide beach and clean.
Lots of different owners of these units and depending on the owner as to how well kept up the unit is. We were in a unit that could have used some up dates and fixing such as patio and sink. Otherwise it was clean and very comfortable. We were only on second floor which made the stairs bearable. Third and forth floors not so nice.
Lots of pools and chairs. We would go back.

I had to move the icebox out of the closet and buy a extension cord to make a place to make drinks or remove items from microwave . Not worth the money I paid for the room. No outside seating or view . Outside was beautiful grounds. Pools were great!

Lovely quiet Mexican resort. We started our stay with friends in a time share unit and stayed on a few more days. The studio that we rented was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The view of the back of the restaurant was OK ... but not outstanding. We would return to this resort which has six great pools, lots of ocean frontage, fabulous view of Banderas Bay, shopping and bank across the road, bus stop just outside, and a nice bar and restaurant

Our unit had an partial ocean and pool view - we could hear the waves slapping on the beach. The A/C and WiFi were excellent. The bar fridge was a good size and the microwave was modern. The king bed and bedding was comfortable and the shower worked well, except for serious pipe vibration at certain flow rates.

The ceiling lighting is poor especially over the sink. This could be easily remedied with swag lamps. The three table lights were okay.

My wife and I booked into Los Tules Villas Del Sol on a last minute, need-to-be-there basis so I could undergo shoulder surgery in nearby Nayarit province. Frankly, we had no preconceived ideas about the property--only its address for the Uber driver. When we arrived at Los Tules we were immediately impressed. The mature grounds, studded with palms and landscaped beautifully was a joy to behold. Check in was quick and efficient, and all the staff were both friendly and helpful. Our room, so we discovered, was on the 3rd floor of building No. 20. The small but adequate patio overlooked the Fiesta Americana next door, and the private beach set aside for Los Tules residents. The view from the patio was spectacular--the beach front, the ocean, the waving palms, etc., were all in plain sight. The room itself was dated, but clean. Apparently, Los Tules was built in 1981 as a timeshare facility. Hence the maturity of the grounds and the aged appearance of the buildings. Regardless, we were very comfortable in our room. The AC worked well as did the WiFi (my smartphone app recorded speeds averaging 45Mbps). The on-site restaurant served good, tasty food (if not a tad expensive), but there are a couple dozen restaurants and cafes within 10-15 minutes walking distance of Los Tules heading South along the main avenue. My shoulder surgery went well, and the Los Tules facility was an excellent place to begin my recuperation. 5/5 stars!

This property has a lot going for it. Los Tules is a great oasis, and is very unique in the Hotel Zone. The landscaping is beautiful, and the onsite restaurant is really tasty, reasonable, with a hard-working staff. LT could use a full-time painter to keep the units refreshed, and the various pools are very nice though not heated. There are no umbrellas for shade near the pool or on the beach. We had a two-story unit with partial ocean view. It was well equipped except for no hair dryer nor paper towels. They had a sign about conserving energy with the a/c, but no recycling containers anywhere on property, and no info re water conservation, and no bulk dispensers so lots of work to do there. We had cleaning every day except Sunday. The big problem we had was the terrible smell of urine outside the unit. It was so strong we could not open the kitchen windows and even sitting on the patio it could be pretty nauseating. The manager sat is was from cats, and there was one grey cat hanging around and getting fed on a plate right next to our exterior wall. They REALLY really need to do something about that... Even with my decent Spanish, the front staff was polite and professional, but not the kind of very warm and friendly folks we are used to in the U.S. I think that is mostly cultural. So overall, a very nice visit in a relaxing, quiet location in a very nice facility. If we returned, we would just be sure to request a different unit.

This was/is a time share property which is now fully sold and is no longer maintained! The exterior of the property is beautiful however the physical plant is noticeably deteriorating rapidly. The locks on the doors are braking and not safe. The requests for repair etc., are not responded to when issues brought to attention of staff, etc. Sad not to want to return to this dying hotel.

Enjoyed our stay at Los Tules. Our stay was short (3 busy all-day tours), so did not have a chance to enjoy the amenities. It is beautifully landscaped..felt like paradise 😊 Our room was clean and had a wonderful ocean and pool view which I appreciated. It was on the top-4th floor. There's no elevator, so a little hard on me, however, it was worth it. Grocery store across the street from the property and easy, cheap public transportation; buses 10 pesos (.50 cents) and taxi approx. 30-40 pesos. I would definitely go back for a longer, more relaxing stay to enjoy the pools and other amenities.

Super relaxing

Really relaxing stay for 9 days. Loved the pools and the beach access. Ate at the restaurant on site most days as the food is good. The grounds are so pleasant. Staff very helpful. Can walk downtown in 45 minutes.

Los tules is a great gem, beautiful grounds, wonderful staff. If your looking for luxury this is not the place for you, very basic units lacking simple accessories.

The property is older but very well kept. It is right on a beautiful stretch of beach. Easy to get around by bus right on main road to Malecon or a taxi ride which are quick and easy to get. Right across road is all the shopping you might need. Great stay!

Dated but good

This is a great property with lush grounds, 6 pools and a great location. The units, this one in particular, are very dated and have barely functioning taps and showers etc. The common people staying here are older married folks so if you're looking to \"party\" (I was not) this is not the place. If you are looking for quiet, great staff and a good location. Not a bad choice. BUT...if you're looking for a quality room ....meh!
