The Property is nice but it was a huge disappointment in many ways. Kids and adult going up the halls all hours of night huge echos! We sleep with a noise machine and still couldn’t drown it out. The lobby goes with loud music till 10! We were put in a room with a slider to a balcony with weeds. They say it is all inclusive but if you want more than the two bottles of water they give you it’s a charge!

Resort is too small for adult only reservations for booking a family dinner.
Buffet could use more food dishes as the options were not there.
Entering the pool was difficult to enter (older group). Steps only part way in to the pool then drops off. Ladder on opposite side was the only way you could get into the pool safetly. A lot of elderly people were noticeably struggling to get in and out.

Came here on the recommendation of a friend as I usually stay in the area but my hotel didn’t have availability for my full trip. Boy am I glad I only stayed here 2 nights. Overall great location and nice smaller property. Rooms were nice and clean and modern but my patio had zero view and at least once while I was in my room maintenance walked through it to water plants. Room was just off the main lobby area and was extremely noisy all hours of the day and night. Despite signs saying silence please I was woken up multiple times during the night from music and absolutely obnoxious people. Bell boys were rude and indifferent, couldn’t seem to care less even when tipping them. Front desk staff was lovely and efficient. Pool waiters were hit and miss. Disappeared for a long time, and then offered people nearby drinks but didn’t come to you, again even when tipping. Often had to go and get my own drink. Chairs at the pool were limited, people occupied chairs but didn’t come back for hours despite hotel saying they remove after 15 minutes, they absolutely did nothing. Went to sit by the beach but then get bothered by the beach vendors and even less frequent service. Bartenders got my drinks wrong at least 3 times, Giving me something I didn’t order. Pool bathrooms were disgusting. Soaking wet, smelly and toilets unflushed. Buffet service was excellent but the food not so much. Lots of repetition and quality below average. Staff were very professional and kind through out our stay. Food was generally good with always many options. Bartenders were able to fulfill any drink order and frequently came around when sitting at the beach or the pool. Our room and the hotel were clean and modern. There were usually ample seats around the pool and beach, but it was a little discouraging when guests saved their seats and left them for quite a while. Fiesta night was very enjoyable with the special entertainment.

The resort was great from what we could tell from only a two night stay. Food and drinks from the limited time was good. One dinner buffet was good, breakfast buffet was good, breakfast a la carte restaraunt was also good. We did not eat at the other two restaraunts for dinner. They REQUIRE reservations and the times are fixed which I was not happy about. 630 and 830 are the slots like a cruise ship, which is obsurd, especially the 830 one. Pool system was nice, lounge chairs on the beach are also nice. Staff all great. Our #1 complaint was the room and its a big one. A/C is not very good and we do not like cold rooms. Thermostat set all the way down at 68 and it was 74-75 degrees all day long and into the evening. The air movement in the room was very poor and we can't understand why no ceilng fans for vaulted ceilings. That would help immensely. Maintenance said it was working fine. We were on the fourth floor so maybe that didn't help. Also the balcony light stayed on all night long and the blackout curtains would not block the very bright light out. Annoying to have all the resort balcony lights on 24 hours a day. We liked the resort and we will come back but will try a different room. Im concerned if it was clear for 5 days in a row the room would be between 73-78 degrees, with no decent air movement and you cant sleep with the door open at night because the light is so BRIGHT! Liked the resort and ammenities but question the room a little.

Our room was not the best. We had street view without a balcony, the bathroom shower didnt drain properly, and their wasn't a clothes line in the shower, so we had to hang our wet clothes on the back of a chair. Nolberto the bellhop, Gloria dining manager, Jorge and Fausto the pool guys were all AWESOME and made the stay enjoyable, so much so that we could iverlook the minor issues. However check out they said was 11:00 but the confirmation email stated it was 12:00.

Rooms were very clean but the beds were pretty stiff and the pillows were terrible.
Options for alcohol were excellent; they had Malibu, captain Morgan’s and many others.

The beach had plenty of seating; however, the people on the beach were constantly trying to sell you something. The same people would interrupt you every 5 minutes, every single day. Even while eating dinner at the restaurant on the beach, they would interrupt you to try and sell you items.
There was a red flag up on the beach for our entire stay as well (even when the water was calm), so while they say that they have kayaks and other water equipment - you can never use them. Friends of ours have stayed here many times and said there has never been a green flag, it is typically always red.
The food was mediocre at best, with very limited variety. We were served cold ribs in one restaurant.
The buffet… this was a whole other ordeal. My boyfriend couldn’t go into the restaurant with a tank top on, breakfast, lunch or dinner. It appeared as though the staff chose who was okay and who wasn’t. The one morning they turned my boyfriend away for having a tank top on and let a woman walk in to eat in her bikini. He asked why this was okay and they ignored him. I overheard an elderly gentleman, probably 80 years old, say that he experienced the same thing.
For the price we paid, sadly, we will not be returning.

We loved our time!! Our favorite restaurant for lunch was the Sunset Restaurant! Luis, Isidro, Jamie, Miguel and Ricardo were amazing!! They remembered our order, drinks, and allergies! We literally came everyday for lunch!!! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and most importantly, attentive! They made us feel so special! They do a great dinner service too! Can’t wait to be back!

This is not a 5-star hotel. We’ve stayed in many 5-star hotels in Puerto Vallarta, and compared to those, this hotel feels more like a 4-star property.

The service, except for the servers, was not good, and the rooms were very small

We wanted to make a reservation at the restaurant and were told it was fully booked, but when we politely asked again and went there, we noticed the restaurant was almost empty, with only two tables occupied 😀

This was the perfect hotel for us. We loved how walkable everything was when we left the hotel. Attractions, sights, restaurants, coffee, shopping, bars, casino, Oxxo, culture, grocery and much more were right out the front door of the hotel. We found that fantastic. As much as we enjoyed our time at the pools and beach it was great to be so close to so many things to do. Only can we used all week was to the airport. Only slight negative was th food at hotel was just average but didn’t bother us because once we learned how close the hotel was to so many great places to eat we decided to eat out every night.
As a couple I do not even think we will go all inclusive at the hotel next time. So many cheap and great dining options in very easy walking distance. Also if you drink there is lots of bars and liquor stores close to buy cheap alcohol to take to your room. I would use the saved money on going all inclusive to explore the area right out the front door.
We will forsure go back.

As an all inclusive there should be availability for all their guests to enjoy the amenities but there were times were we were turned away from specific restaurants and also there wasn’t enough food. The buffet food isn't very good quality, and the menu is very limited. For example, the meat they offer is low quality and has a lot of fat and gristle. The pork is prepared almost the same way every day, and the chicken is always torn to shreds. At the à la carte restaurant, the food is mediocre, but the portions are very small. On the other hand, and perhaps the worst issue, are the hotel's policies. You're not allowed to move the umbrellas to get shade, you can't move the beach or pool furniture, you can't play with the children in the pool and throw them around, you can't take food from the restaurants to your room—you absolutely have to order room service, and if you want a snack, you can't serve yourself; you have to ask the waiter. Also, if you order a soft drink at the buffet, it takes ages because they don't have a soda machine there; you have to go to the bar. We've stayed at hotels like the Mayan by Vidanta, the RIU, and the Park Royal, and in none of them did we feel as restricted as at the Buenaventura. We will not come back and we will not recommend the Buenaventura Grand Hotel

We stay at Buenaventura at least two times a year. There are numerous wonderful things about the resort. Above all, the staff is outstanding, they are attentive and friendly and helpful in a heartbeat as needed. The resort is always extremely clean. They have added new very comfortable loungers on the beach. They do a beautiful job with their theme nights, especially their Mexican fiesta night.
There are a couple of things that in my opinion should be addressed. The first is that while they have two elliptical machines in the gym, one has not worked for the last five years and the second also now does not work. The gym also only has one mat occasionally. There is no spray or wipes to clean up your equipment when finished.
Secondly, they have a discriminating dress code for the buffet restaurant. Men must cover their shoulders, meaning they are not allowed to wear a sleeveless shirt at all. However, a woman can go in with spaghetti straps or even a bathing suit top and shorts or skirt, and that is perfectly fine. It seems odd that it is OK for a woman to bear her shoulders but not a man, I think that should be changed.
The location can’t be beat, especially now since they have extended the Malecon even further north.

Overall the Hotel is Great! 15 mins walk to Malecon, 20 mins from the Airport, tacos stands around the hotel.Food insidebthe Hotel is good but did not get chance to try the speacialty restaurant that is included in the package.The guest ambassador name Alicia gave us a hard time to to book the restaurants due to fact that we did not take the tour(selling).stayed there for 4 nights and evertytime we asked she jusy sayas come back tomorrow the booking is full.overall the buffet staff are friendly.

The Mexican Fiesta was the highlight of our stay and was very well executed.

We previously stayed at Buenaventura in Dec 2021, and this visit felt noticeably different. Based on this experience, we unlikely return.

Room: The bed was very hard, which caused back pain daily by the 2ndnight. The room temp also set to cool only to 67°F and did not feel as though it truly reached that setting. Additionally, the shower water was consistently lukewarm to cold, never getting properly hot.

Sunset Restaurant: Dinner reservations were difficult to secure unless made by 8:00 AM. We arrived at 8:15 PM for an 8:30 reservation to find a sign stating the restaurant was closed, with staff clearing and cleaning all tables so we dined elsewhere. The next day we were told it had been open, which did not align with what we experienced.

We dined there two other evenings. The first meal was excellent, including a perfectly prepared lobster bisque. The second visit was less successful, with overcooked fish and gritty lobster bisque.

Buffet: The buffet was mediocre for breakfast & dinner. i.e.The orange juice was noticeably watered down.

The resort had a strong retirement-cruise atmosphere. The guest demographic appeared to be largely between 60-80 yrs old, resulting in a very low-energy environment. Poolside music reflected this tone and remained consistently subdued. Beach seating was limited, few tables and with many chairs reserved with towels but unused.

The one night we did the \"sunset\" restaurant for a birthday the food was again just OK. We did the paid upgrade for a steak and it was raw and flavorless, not even a little salt or pepper on the meat. The beach and pools were nice and bar staff was attentive. Rooms were a little small.

Deluxe 2 double bed room south side of building over side street. Not noisy. View of ocean and downtown/hills/sunset. Housekeeping and facilities staff do a great job - very clean - both room and property in general. Not much choice available in buffet restaurant although nice ambiance. The Sunset restaurant overlooking the beach was better. Good breakfast and dinner options. Nice staff. CON- privilege club sellers hit you right away from check in - quite aggressive wanting to give you an immediate tour of the property before you’ve even gone to your room. Not a great way to welcome guests arriving after a long day of travelling. Otherwise, it’s a nice hotel close to the Malecon area and overall we enjoyed our stay.

Wejust left the Buenaventura family of 7 three rooms they didn’t have enough regular rooms for us so two of us got upgraded to honeymoon suites!!! The staff is absolutely amazing and go above and beyond many many thanks to everyone. I won’t remember all of their names, but some of them are Gustavo, Jorge, Eduardo, Liliana, Bianca, and Rudy oh and Nora‘s new boyfriend Carlos Nora is our baby she’s 8 1/2 months old. Adan is the animation lead and is BEYOND wonderful!! Food is great, always something to choose from! CLEAN! Amazing housekeepers! Our family trip fave so far! We will be back 😊😊😊
