Lots of restaurants nearby. Roof top pool and views are amazing. Check-in was incredible. BUT, I can’t give 5 stars for three reasons. The rooms and hallways are dated and need attention. To get to the beach you have to walk through the next door hotels lobby and finally, it’s very noisy as it’s right on the Main Street, the 200.

The Mio has been my go too for years. I amm a gold Expedia member and usually get a room upgrade. When I checked in I was told no and was put in the first floor near the road. I talked to the manager and her would put me on the 2nd floor. I had already paid the 300 pesos to check in an hour earlier so I declined. To my surprise Jatziry called me the next morning and explained it was a mistake and had a 7th floor room ready for me. My disappointment to into excitement. The hotel had corrected an error she said. I couldn't be happier. I will be back again and again. There is a mall near by. The food court is a great place to go for beverages and food of all kinds. I have experience the breakfast at the hotel and the food is very good as well as the staff. I've had lunch on the roof top and can vouch for the fish tacos. Yummy. One of the best Pina colodas in PV. Thank you Mio.

Only comment I would make. Guest coffee in the morning, we preferred to use our own , reusable, environmental friendly cups to save the environment. Staff wanted only to use throw away cups. Hopefully this will change in future. Thanks. J/C Scott. Calgary Alberta 2 months stay.

I just stayed here for a week. I had a wonderful experience. Staff was all very friendly. This was right after all the stuff happened down here so I called ahead of time and was assured everything was fine. I felt completely safe down here during my stay. I got a room on the fifth floor and the far back of the building which I highly recommend because it's far away from the street. The coffee place right next-door is delicious. I get that every morning instead of the coffee they offer here which is only available from 7 to 9 . But if you walk right out the door there's a little coffee place where you get a discount and it's bomb . I couldn't recommend this Hotel more. I got such a great rate. The rooftop pool is beautiful, hot tub is beautiful. The views from the rooftop full of the ocean are marvelous. I stayed in the panoramic deluxe room with the balcony overlooking the ocean. It's only a six dollar Uber over to the romantica district. I went one full day got the day pass playa los arcos For 60 bucks includes breakfast lunch and drinks right on the ocean that was awesome. This will definitely be one of my number one places to look when I stay in PV! Loved it. Thank you for the hospitality. What a find... and no kids lol

The hotel was lovely, very clean and staff were excellent. There is an outlet Mall a few blocks from the Hotel. The pool area was lovely but the obsession with saving chairs made it awkward to attend.
We were here during the February 22, 2026 Cartel violence. The Hotel Locked down for 2 days as violence swept about the City, we felt very safe and the staff did a wonderful job of keeping us all sheltered, fed and watered while all outside services were disrupted for 3 days. My thanks to the management and staff.

El día en que México vivió una pesadilla en Puerto Vallarta más exactamente el 22 de febrero de 2026 viajabamos rumbo a Puerto Vallarta desde la ciudad de México pero en vista de los actos terrosistas de grupos al margen de la ley los cuales causaron desmanes en la ciudad e incluso quemaron vehículos y bloquearon la ciudad, incluso causando el caos en la ciudad el piloto del vuelo decide regresar a ciudad de México y entonces me comunico con este hotel para solicitarle que me reembolsen el dinero que pagamos ya que evidentemente despues de lo sucedido no podriamos hospedarnos y sencillamente le respuesta fue que no.

Entonces yo me pregunto que papel jugamos los turistas que paganos y hacemos posible que estos hoteles prosperen y al final ante hechos como estos el hotel no muestra la mínima consideración de empatia hacia unas personas que tuvimos que pasar la mala experiencia pero que ademas perdimos nuestro dinero por que sencillamente ellos no pueden perder pero nosotros como usuarios si.

Modern, Clean, Safe Property. Fantastic Breakfast and coffee. In room air conditioning amazing. The shower could use some re working in the next reno, water runs out the door every time and the bench in the shower is basically unusable, too shallow and a sharp edge. We tried to get a king bed at check in but was told unavailable. We survived. Hotel is in a great location. They have built covered walking paths between our hotel and the two surrounding it. It’s easy enough to get to the beach and it’s actually fairly easy to walk to centro or romantica zone. Would stay again. Roof top pool is great, don’t worry about reserving your bed with your towel because the rules say reserving sun beds is not allowed. It took a few days of getting fed up with the situation to finally just start moving unoccupied towels and towels and enjoy ourselves.

This is now our second time staying here. The first time I didn’t review as I thought i would give them one more try. The rooms are clean and ok. Bed is comfortable compared to some I have had in Mexico. It’s nice having a balcony area. And a nice large shower with a seat. But both times we have stayed, the liquid soap containers at the sinks were almost completely empty. I don’t like bar soap so I prefer to use the liquid soap. The pool area is larger as it’s the roof, but if there are many staying you will struggle to find a seat around the pool. It’s also very shallow. Food is better than some I have had, I would recommend their chicken wings as they did those very well. However I find this hotel to be incredibly loud. Thru the night there was a consistent loud banging as if someone was doing construction well into 3am. Across the road at the time we were there was a fair so that was also loud thru the night. The air conditioning in the room, quite loud as well. Then there is the road noise. My goodness! We stayed on the 1st guest floor which is like the 4th or 5th floor and also the 3rd guest floor which would be about the 6-7th floor. Both heard major road noise. The upstairs pool plays super loud club music. Now normally I’m not a major stickler for sound as I know Mexico can be a bit on the higher decibel side…however I’m making this review as I found it exceedingly loud more than anywhere else I have stayed. If you’re doing one or two nights, might not be so bad.

There was no panoramic view in my opinion. Stick to the tropical or deluxe room. I forget the name. Which i have stayed in before. Its cheaper. The breakfast buffet is not worth the price that is charged but sometimes offers are $10 or less so thats ok. The pool is too shallow but good if you just want to sit in it.

The Hotel is located on the main strip and it is extremely noisy. I like my patio doors open.
Rooms are beautiful, oversized, staff is nice.
Pool on top floor is great, but you better like the techno music, that’s all they play. Anything you buy in hotel…breakfast, drinks etc is very expensive.

We love staying at the Mio for good breakfast,pool food and service and the rooms are spacious and comfortable.
The thing we didn't like was the continuous beat of the same loud music. Even the DJ played music that did not agree with the older crowd. Some nice relaxing music would be more of a crowd pleaser.

Hospitality was excellent, whatever you asked the staff accommodated what they could. 2 beach cruisers onsite for rental, breakfast was good, coffee isn’t that good (7-11am-ish). We assumed the 2 red cards and 2 blue cards were no big deal until you don’t return them which costs 250 pesos ($14). Rooms are spacious and well kept, comfortable beds, only downside is the traffic noise; recommend ear plugs to sleep. Excellent A/C.

The staff are exceptional. Right from the front desk,to the serving staff, room maids, maintenance and beyond.
The whole place is spotless and if there is a problem it is dealt with immediately! Excellent breakfast buffet offers lots of variety and nice pool area with bar and lighter fare.
Only downside is traffic can be a little noisy at times but great location for getting around with Uber of course!

I’m sorry, I left a review for this hotel that was intended for a different hotel. The info there did not pertain to this one. I found this hotel wonderful. The staff so friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean (with amazing view) and the rooftop pool amazing! I ended up at this hotel because it did not have the musty mold issues that I was reacting to at another hotel. Grateful for this place.

The staff was amazing- so friendly and helpful, hard workers. We especially liked Miguel who worked in the dining hall.
For those of you with musty mold sensitivities, this hotel may not be for you (although probably most hotels here have the same issue). The room we stayed in was too musty for me, I had to stay somewhere else during the night. The facility is somewhat run down too, but it’s kept very clean. And the location is wonderful!

The Room was exceptional in my opinion, very clean and the shower was fantastic. Carmen was in charge of my room and she did an awesome job. Alicia in the rooftop pool/bar area was fun and added friendly warmth to every visit. Staff in the hotel were fantastic. I was treated very well and all interactions with staff were awesome. My only criticism of the property was the card system in the elevators. Getting the card to register on the reader sometimes was difficult. There was some road noises from the main road but overall, to me, non-intrusive. Great Property and I would happily stay here again and probably will !! Close to the Malecon, local bus stop right outside the hotel which made things easy to get around. Glad I chose this property for this vacation.

Everyone is very nice and friendly
Honestly the best time of my life we only were able to be at the pool one day because we had so many tours schedule but it was amazing. They had a Dj they had good drinks. They have good service very friendly very nice clean bathrooms. The food was amazing too really good food.
I am coming back in March or April very close to Neptune Plaza karaoke Las Perlas Plaza very close to restaurants and nightclubs too amazing a bus stop is pretty close to you. I tried to use the bus to go to Nayarit taxes are very expensive and Ubers too especially if you are not from there

Our stay T hotel Mio was really good . Staff is so friendly and helpful. Rooms are good space and good view . Roof top a bit pricy but good pool .
The down side to our stay was what they mention as private access to the beach which was not private . We can access the beach through the friendly fun resort close by (which is same company as we told) but not allowed to sit on the chairs . I think that was no convenient at all . It does not make sense to have access that anybody can walk in and not able to use a chair . We ended up renting umbrella and chairs for each time we use the beach ( this is an unnecessary added cost). I did go online and chatter help line at both Mio and friendly fun which took some of my vacation time , but looks like it they know about the issue and they do not want to solve it . I think they want the vendor on the beach to have some business . I hope this will be looked at because in the meantime I will not go back and book at Mio again, and I will not recommend it to any friend . Thank you

Location: Perfect. 15 mins from the airport. 15 mins from PV center. A few mins walk from the beach.
The hotel is modern (6 years old), the rooms are massive and those facing south offer a panoramic view over the bay. Internet/wi-fi performance seems to be strong everywhere and very reliable. Room service is available 24 hours and rooms are cleaned exquisitely well on a daily basis.
Breakfast: There is enough in quantity to feed a small country, with enough diversity to please any foodie.
There’s lots of seating available inside and out and the staff work very hard and will always greet you with a smile.
The same can be said for the Reception staff and the team working in the rooftop bar. There is a glow of positivity and a genuine warmth and friendliness, matched with efficiency.
All things considered the Mio Vallarta has it all (including a good vibe) and with the advantage of being adults only, a degree of serenity.
I would not hesitate to return….
