Our room was amazing as we had our own private pool. The staff are excellent and so darn nice. There was some cartel violence during our stay, and the very limited staff that worked around the clock ROCKED even through their fears, lavk of sleep, and not being able to leave to go home to their families. Is it an older hotel?Yes, are they renovating and doing upgrades?Yes, but despite all that, we are most definitely coming back year after year. This is our place.

The room was wore out. Didn’t give me what I paid for nor would they give me a new room. The food wasn’t not good. We ate out for dinner often. Buffet was tried. Repeat of same thing over and over. The grounds are nice but for the money they should upgrade the chairs. The best place was the coffee bar on second floor. The coffee pot in our room wouldn’t work and no one cared.

The room felt outdated and did not appear as clean as expected. Upon arrival, there were no towels in the room, and we had to request them twice. The floors felt sticky, the sink had noticeable stains, and the toilet required two to three flushes each time.

During our stay, one of the elevators was out of service, which led to long wait times. There was also significant construction happening, including in the lobby and a new building next door, which was disruptive.

The food was average, and unfortunately the ice cream machine at the café was not working.

The highlight of our stay was the shows, pool, views and staff. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly and welcoming.

We had a wonderful stay at Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta All Inclusive this past weekend. We stayed for two nights with my wife and our one-year-old son, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish.

Hugo at the front desk explained everything clearly and made check-in smooth. Ulises at concierge was very helpful with restaurant reservations, and the private cabana we booked near the pool was perfect for our family. The buffet food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner was excellent—my wife was nervous since it was her first time at an all-inclusive, but the food was great and we had no issues at all.

The pool area was clean, the beach was easily accessible from the back of the hotel, and overall the atmosphere was relaxing and family-friendly. While a few staff members weren’t very friendly, others—like Emma and Fernando in the buffet—greeted us with big smiles and truly made us feel welcome.

We loved our stay, made beautiful family memories, and will definitely return. Highly recommended for families—we’ll be telling our friends and relatives about this place!

To start with, with the expense for 1 week all inclusive one would think you'd get a view as advertised. But not a view of a construction site.
1. Rooms in the wing x20 -x39 (each floor in this wing) are advertised as rooms with a view. These rooms are blocked by a high-rise condo under construction until 2027

4. Peddler's allowed to enter and bother guests in beach area
5. Line ups/wait at buffett
6. Line ups/wait at Lobby bar (2 bar tenders for a resort bar)

The staff is friendly. The food is plentiful. The pools are very nice and location great. However, we booked a partial ocean view and were given a room on the 7th floor. Looking out our sliding door, we were eye level with about 30 constructions guys building the new hotel next to us. We could barely see any ocean over all the metal rods and other construction materials. On top of that the 8th floor is being renovated so we woke up to furniture being drug across the floor above us. I think the 7th floor should not be occupied, and certainly rooms on the side facing the construction should not be advertised as having any kind of desire view.

We stayed at Krystal Grand PV, when we booked we up graded to partial ocean view and when we got there we didn’t really care for the room so we were moved the next day to a full ocean view ( it was unbelievable view of watching ships coming and going) and another advantage of booking partial ocean view is we were able to go over to the adult only area and it was fantastic and no kids. So over all we were very happy.

We are from Canada, and the pool/beach activities fella, Danny, was awesome. He was great with my kids, and even gave them keychains the morning we left.

We enjoyed our stay, the food was a amazing and such a variety of options. The staff are friendly, and spoke well English even for our kids to visit with. The bartenders were great and there was always staff cleaning and tidying up all areas of the resort.

I just want to start by saying that EXPEDIA could have noted that the hotel was being remolded because my view was another hotel being built literally 30 feet away.

Pool/beach service, I have no complaints. Alexis was awesome. Never a dull moment.

Rooms, not too bad but housekeepers could have been more attentive to cleaning. Weeks of dust sitting on some of their furniture. Room was missing iron. Safe and AC was not working.

Food, well here comes the good part. Be very careful on what you eat here because my whole family got food poisoning. Just stay away from the stuff that sits outside in the heat all day. You can’t have ceviche sitting outside without proper temperatures. After this whole ordeal and we left hotel our driver had told us that another lady had been sick with food poisoning the day before. Someone please step in.

Management, LUCY did an awesome job on providing medical attention to us without cost. Lucy does know what it takes to satisfy the customer because she was always checking up on us to make our stay more comfortable.
Concierge helped us where they could but let’s be real, I haven’t met anyone that could help someone with food poisoning. You got to let it pass.

Overall, I think it’s a good thing that Hyatt bought them out and is transitioning the hotel over but still months away. I think the food program needs help. I didn’t want to do this review because I felt bad for the people that really tried. I was in love with this hotel 2 years ag

1. Extreme Health and Sanitation Crisis
The level of filth and neglect was shocking, and poses a serious health risk:
• BED BUGS (With Evidence): The single most critical issue was discovering bed bugs on the premises. I have photographic proof of the insects and their waste, which I am attaching to this email. This is a severe, documented health violation that made the room instantly uninhabitable.
• General Filth: Beyond the infestation, the room was disgusting. The mattress itself was stained, the sheets were dirty, and the toilet was visibly filthy.
• Bad Odor: The entire room had a persistent, unpleasant, stale smell upon arrival that ventilation could not fix.
• Unusable Amenities: Even basic items were unsanitary; the iron and ironing board were heavily stained and unusable.

2. Fraudulent Advertising and Unlivable Conditions
The accommodation we paid for was not the one advertised, and the conditions were completely unlivable:
• False Photos: The images on the Expedia listing are fraudulent and bear no resemblance to the current reality.
• Undisclosed Construction: We were never warned that the resort is undergoing massive, loud construction directly outside our window, destroying any chance of relaxation.
• Total Loss of Privacy: Because of the nearby construction, we had multiple workers constantly looking directly into our room throughout the day. We were forced to keep our blinds shut 24/7 for privacy and security, turning our getaway into a dark, stressful cell.

Pros: Very friendly pool and beach service staff. The hacienda pool waiter Carlos was absolutely amazing, constantly going above and beyond for out entire group and always maintaining a huge smile and positive attitude. Guiremo at the beach bar was also a treat to have serve us. Front desk attendants were very helpful in finding solutions to problems in the rooms which shouldn’t have ever happened at this price point.
Cons: Staying at an active construction site was not disclosed. I was on the 7th floor and there was grinders and jackhammers going off at 7:00AM continuing throughout the entirety of the day, on both weekdays and weekends. Multiple of the rooms had Beatles, Moths and Bed Bugs littered throughout the rooms. Buffet food quality was mediocre at best, I was one of the few in our 15 person group that did not get sick. The A La Carte restaurant experience was terrible, 7/15 of us got the wrong order entirely and food quality was nothing better than the buffet. This “resort” was more so just a hotel. A total lack of activities for all age groups. Nearly nothing to do aside from go to the pool and beach which is an obvious expectation. Would never stay here again, and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The staff was great! The food on the buffet was pretty decent but the Paella at the buffet was wonderful.The Italian restaurant ( must have a reservation) was wonderful, with good vibes, and the food was amazing! We didn’t have a chance to try the Mexican restaurant or the French restaurant, so maybe next time. The only thing I would make people aware of is that the room we were staying in the bathroom does not have a door separating it from the rest of the space. There are frosted glass doors to the shower and toilet for privacy but not a door to enclose the whole bathroom. The staff cleaned the pool every day and they refilled the mini fridge every day. The bar and lounge area are nice as well. They call you a taxi or uber for you if needed. The staff was very friendly and helpful so do not hesitate to ask for assistance or their advice.

Initial room selection was very inappropriate as there was a tremendous amount of construction being done close by due to renovations and a complex being built. Some things were also so-so in the room. Flagged the room issues with staff and got and 'upgrade': room had not been deep cleaned and visible traces of the previous stay were still visible. Turns out the last room i was given was in fact the best one and the most fitting of the reservation description I had booked several mo ths ago: It was u fortunated that i had to place several complaints to finally get what i was expectig to be set and done from the get go.

Room service was ok but also sometimes forgetful on the night shift when requesting certain things.

Pool area was ok. Got crowded very quick. Was at the beach most of the time due to this or went to the adult only side at the Hacienda complex when quiet and pool were needed.

Bar selections are diverse, staff is very accommodating of requests for drinks.

Dining experience (selected: La Catrina) was unfortunately very slow and not as authenticly mexican as initially described. Going to the old market area has proven better for views and better a la carte dining options.

Food wise, buffets and all sides of the complex were very good.

Regardless of the hiccups, i would book at the Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta again.

I don’t typically leave reviews, but this resort deserves it. The ocean views were stunning, the food was excellent, and the service throughout the resort was outstanding. The rooms, pools, and dining options were all exceptional. It’s also a wonderful place for families—our kids especially enjoyed the gaming station. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable vacation

Bedbugs…. We were there for 3 nights and luckily we only had one night left and I appreciate that we were moved immediately after we found the bedbugs in the middle of the night because we got woken up by a smoke alarm that was triggered in the building and saw the bedbug crawling on the bed. Staff immediately moved us to a different room and was very attentive. Unfortunately it doesn’t change the fact that there were bedbugs.

The hotel is old. Not look the same as the online pictures, my room wasn’t ready. At 4:30 They changed the room because the room what I reserved wasn’t ready . I didn’t liked that room and I asked them to get ready my room as soon as possible with full ocean view like my reservation . I waited until the 6pm to finally get in the room

Also the strawberries and champagne was scheduled for August 1 between 1pm to 5pm and never arrived

We made this trip for our 25th anniversary to have a wonderful time but unfortunately was the worse place where we stayed.

We arrived around 2pm to join a larger group of friends and family that were in Puerto Vallarta for the weekend. We Tried to check in on the Krystal Grand side but Juan rudely told us that our reservation was only for 1 person and that we needed to go complete our check in on the Hacienda side of the property.

On the Hacienda side the check in person that assisted us called someone to explain that we booked through Expedia and the reservation was intended for 2 people. They allowed it, registered us and told us our room would be ready after 3pm. We returned at 3pm for our keys and when we arrived at our room the AC was not working. It was set at 65 but the room temp was 82. We called maintenance and they sent someone after we called 3 times. The maintenance guy \"released some trapped air\" and told us to give it about 30 minutes. After 30 minutes we didnt feel an improvement and asked to be switched to another room. First they told us they were fully booked and couldn't accommodate and after expressing our frustration we were assisted by another person that claimed he was going to hook us up with an upgrade. The upgrade was useless to us and all we asked for was the type of room we pre-paid with an AC that works.

After all that they assigned us a room and when we got there they keys didnt work. The administration staff is a nightmare. If it wasn't for the service staff we wouldnt even rate this place a 1 star.

I would rate my overall stay a 5 out of 10. The property is outdated, the bathroom is the worse I've ever seen in my life, and the food was very average. Sometimes they would have the same food at dinner that they served at lunch. The bathroom was so small that when you sat on the toilet, your head would be two inches from the wall. I was told the property was bought out, and was to be completely renovated in about a year. My stay wasn't the worse place I've ever stayed, but I certainly wouldn't stay there again. The pictures on Hotel.com did it no justice.

El lugar en las fotos se ve muy nuevo pero en realidad no lo es, las instalaciones les falta un poco de limpieza, y mantenimiento. El cuarto estaba muy sucio, yo viajé con mi bebé de 10 meses gateando y el piso del cuarto lo tuve que limpiar con una toalla mojada para que el nene pudiera gatear tranquilo, además la limpieza que hacían diario era muy básica, medio tendieron la cama y sacaron la basura. Entiendo que no es la opción más cara pero creo que la limpieza es importante.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, there were issues. They couldn’t find my reservation even though I had a confirmation and it took a long time to sort out. Once I finally got to my room, things only got worse.

There were roaches, the air conditioning didn’t work properly, and rain started leaking into the room, along with water dripping from the ceiling. It was honestly unsafe and completely unacceptable.

I brought up the problems to the staff, but the overall response felt unhelpful and disorganized. It was one issue after another, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Save yourself the stress and book somewhere else.

There was a problem with the air conditioning and ceiling fan the first few days. They had to come out 3 or 4 times to fix it. I believe that it was somehow connected to the patio door because after they fixed it, I wasn't able to open the door; therefore, unable to actually sit out on the patio; which was too bad because it was a beautiful view and I was only able to appreciate it with the door closed. There was also an odor in the restroom maybe the first couple of days that seemed to dissipate after that. Otherwise, enjoyed my stay.

The customer service in the buffet restaurant was excellent and the seafood they served at Jalavera restaurant was delicious. That's really the only thing nice about this property.
What I don't like is the room I stayed at, it smells musty, earthy and damp. I know, there's mold in my room. It rained during my stay and it flooded the inside of the room where the door of the balcony area. Part of my blanket got soaked and was wet and I called front desk for a new one, but no one came to replace it, so that night I slept without a blanket. The pictures here on expedia is very different from the what the actual room looks like so beware.

Where do I start
1) room appeared nice. Beds were comfortable
2) I was told I could not have inflatable tube for my 3&5 year old but all the local Mexicans could. Caucasian or Canadians weren’t allowed I guess
3) next day I was also told my 3&5 year old were not allowed to jump in the pool but again everyone else was allowed.
4) food was as limited but good.
5) drinks were good and servers around the pool were great
6) French resto was only one I tried and was great.
7) we had heavy rain day 3 that flooded out entire room. It was coming in the ceiling. When I went to talk to Libby I was in ankle deep water. The entire hotel was as falling apart. The ceilings all had holes and water pouring out them. Got moved to another room which was nice but on the 4th floor and the elevators were all not working. So I had to carry my kid and stroller up and down 4 flights of stairs
8) I wanted to use an umbrella to take a walk and was told I was not allowed

Enjoyed ourselves as much as we could but would not go back or refer friends there sadly. This hotel needs a massive renovation

I enjoyed that the resort is right on the beach, which allowed us to take long walks and enjoy hearing the waves. I didnt like that the rule of not reserving lounge chairs was not enforced at all so unless you reserved a longer with your towel or book at 7;00am there was absolutely no place to sit. I saw some guest putting personal items on loungers in multiple areas to use at different times during the day, which is very selfish behavior and should not be tolerated by resort staff.

Nice Stay For a 4 Day Trip

Nice place to stay in! It wasn’t too crowded when we stayed in the month of May. You have access to Krystal Grand and Hacienda which is a nice plus as Krystal Grand is more family friendly and Hacienda is for adults and more quieter. The food was not bad but could improve. You also have to make a reservation for the restaurants for the dinner option but if you don’t make it on time you are out of luck. We managed to get one on our last night only after talking to reception. You also have to pay a fee for room service. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. No complaints on that. Overall it was a very nice experience.

the room as absolutely filthy and not cleaned. Mold everywhere. Can’t get proper change of towels or bedding. They limit your restock of water, even with a medical condition involving a Cpap. My husband and 5 year old where sick and to avoid spreading, they wanted to stay in room. We weren’t allowed to bring food to them and the option was $150 peso charge room service. My 5 year old wasn’t allowed to sit outside without shoes on, but a lady with a see through coverup wearing only a thread of a thong and barely covered nipples was allowed to sit and eat. The hallways were never cleaned and were absolutely disgusting. My husband ended up with mold infection in his lungs and sick. My son noticed an ear plug on the ground in the hallway and after 6 days, still was there. The room wrecked of mold and curtains had visible mold on them.

On the positive side, the beach at this property is excellent! Some less positive things were only two ala carte restaurants open per day and food was poor. Always short on beach towels and towels for the rooms. Not enough poolside and beach loungers to go around. The lack of inventory at this resort made it feel like it was going to shut down soon and they were trying to get by with as little as possible. Rooms need updating as well. The staff for the most part were excellent. Other than one manager that was quite rude from the Hacienda side. Overall, we still had a good vacation, but the property and inventory really need to improve.

They do not have water so everynight, few trucks coming to bring water to the site, causing super loud noise at the middle of the night.
On our 2nd night, no water in general, no shower, no toilet, that was a nightmare.
Beside that, room needs an upgrade, staffs has 0 English and super unfriendly. Too much busy during the holiday which we can understand, but with the low consideration to the others of the local people, the buffet everyday become a show. I witnessed two times that two ladies put their unused foods back to the bowls on the counter for everyone. Talked to staffs to remove that bowl but nothing changes. I come back to check only to see the punes with some touch of the lady’s mayonnaise (from her dirty dish) still there, gross.

Overall the whole hotel was dirty and in bad conditions, most of the time the hotel feels dirty, there is poop in some places, the ceiling is leaking in the lobby, and most of the time the staff in management are mean and they are not really helpful sometimes the staff just ignored my questions, the only good staff are the waitresses, most are really friendly and attentive, the food is ok nothing out of this world, and sometimes flies would step on the desserts and breads

Paid for Delux ocean view, didn’t get it instead I got the view of trees blocking the ocean. I requested to be moved to a room with an ocean view which they did however it didn’t have a balcony, front desk staff told me I paid for ocean view only balcony was not included. Be carefully when you booked ocean view with them.

Front desk staff was a little bit snarky, however staff at the buffet and security guard were amazing, friendly and kind. We often stay late at night, and one security guy always stayed around our area to make sure we were safe.

I don’t know if I would stayed here again since I didn’t like the rooms nor the front desk staff.

The first room we received had black mold on the ceiling. They couldn’t switch our room till 2 days later and even the upgraded room was very dirty. Mold on ceiling torn blanket and broken mirror in bathroom.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

REVIEW FOR KRYSTAL GRAND ONLY NOT THE HACIENDA SIDE

Pros: easy to walk around and close proximity to downtown, shopping centers, the marina and grocery stores. The staff are wonderful and super nice. Owest (sushi bar 18 pool) was the highlight of our stay. Pretty quiet and lots of infinity pool space to relax and watch the sunset. The food was decent (not the breakfast it was terrible), but im not a super picky eater and usually just ate salad, yogurt and Ceviche (so good) the whole time. If youre picky with your food you may not enjoy your stay as much. If you go to the steakhouse get the beef fillet its was so good and tender.

Cons: Our room frequently smelt of sewage and the shower was spotty going from sprinkles to normal pressue. It was frequently cold water coming from the shower as well. The bedding is another, the sheets were clean but the douvet underneath the cover was really gross, stained and honeslty shouldnt be reused. One of the elevators were not functioning and when it would get down to the main floor you had to hold on the open button and pry open the door (if you're alone good luck). We ended up getting off on the second floor and taking to stairs. This was reported to the desk but remained an issue throughout our stay.

Overall i did enjoy my stay but no way is this at all a 5 star hotel. My intitial search shows it listed as a 5 star but I believe that may just be the rating for the Hacienda side only.

It was Okay’ only. Front desk agent was not very cooperative or helpful. Rooms were not family friendly as there was no door in the restroom and shower. Broken AC since the room temperature never went below 28 degree Celsius during our 5 days stay. All inclusive food and beverages were too mediocre and repetitive. Only the good thing about this Resort is it’s right to next to the beach. Thats it !

Worst Hotel ever!!!

The Hotel was in need of better management from front desk staff to the upkeep of the hotel. In the lobby area the furniture cushions were filthy. They covered some of them with bed sheets. In the buffet area they wrapped the silverware in paper napkins, the food quality was poor, the desert table had flies on the cakes and pastries. There is so much I could negatively say about this hotel/resort. My advice is stay away from this resort. I would recommend Dreams hotel as we spent our first day of our vacation there because we had a credit from a previous stay. Then we did 2 days at Krystal Grand. I could not wait to leave the place.

Staff at this resort were very friendly and provide awesome services. Transportation was easy accessible with their taxis. Getting to the city was fun & easy. We actually rented uber to get to the city. They had multiple restaurants & souvenirs shops. Just overall a great & memorable experience at this resort.

Our initial room didn’t have any air. They switched our room and that room shower was broken no hot water . Room keys didn’t work no phone in room to call front desk so we had to go down there and have the keys fixed every time .
