What an amazing gem of a place!!!! The Angel of the Sea was the perfect bed and breakfast experience right on the beach. All of the staff were so kind. The breakfast everyday was phenomenal! The breakfast was excellent. Their were many things that need to be fixed. Screen, woodwork, molding in and around the Hotel.
Our room needed a good dusting all around ., furniture and woodwork. . Furniture was old and not very comfortable. Beds were too soft.
The places is charming but needs an overhaul badly.

Such a piece of history. The building itself has so much character and charm. The room was spacious and comfortable. The food was excellent. Fresh made breakfast every morning, tea and baked goods in the afternoon, and a large cheese and meat platter with wine in the evening. Couldn’t have been a better experience.

I highly recommend a stay at this property! My college daughter and I went for a few days during her Spring Break. She loves victorian style homes and this one was perfect. We loved that they had bikes available to ride during the day. Breakfast each day was delicious, and the Tea and Treats and Wine and Cheese times were so fun.

Great staff. Beautiful room. A nice surprise was afternoon Tea and Sweets and the wine and cheese before we left for dinner. A 2-minute walk to the beach. A short drive to the outside mall. We would have used the complimentary bikes and beach chairs, but the wind had no part of that in mid-March. Breakfast was amazing, different everyday. Beautiful

My stay met and exceeded my expectations in every way. From my early arrival (in anticipation of a severe storm) and the staffs willingness to hold my luggage until check in, to them happily carrying my luggage to my room-things got off to an impressive start. The hotel is an old beauty, rich in history, cozy and comfortable. My room was beautiful and clean and my bed was so comfortable.

I was pleasantly surprised by the generosity and great service of both the complimentary tea and sweets and the wine and cheese hours. Service was so kind and caring.

Top this off with a wonderful full service breakfast and anyone will be absolutely happy that they chose Angel of Sea for their stay in the lovely town of Cape May!
PS did I mention that the ocean is right across the street!

This was our first visit to this lovely place…I cannot call it a hotel…it was more like home. The room, the parlour/dining area, the location, the service, the staff, and the food was everything we could hope for and more. The afternoon tea/sweets and the evening wine/cheese were just icing on the cake. And be prepared for one of the best breakfast services you can imagine. We are definitely returning next year and want to bring more of our family along. We just wish we had discovered this gem earlier, since it has become one of our favorites.

Sisters Get Away!

My sister and I went on a Sisters Getaway, and it was absolutely wonderful! The Angel of the Sea felt like something straight out of a Hallmark movie—so charming and quaint. And the front desk clerk and breakfast server? Don’t even get me started—they were incredibly personable, welcoming, and full of great information. Such a fantastic experience!

My husband and I stayed in Cape May at the angel of the sea for two nights. Our room was a king room with an ocean view. Our bed was extremely comfortable. Linens were clean. Bathroom was clean, but hallway railings were sticky, and stairway carpets were worn. The place seemed tired. It was a lovely. The service could not have been better and each staff member was extremely helpful and friendly. It is a beautiful Victorian mansion decorated in Victorian Style. However, there is no lounging area for guests. It’s all eating areas. They do provide beaching supplies and bicycles which is an added bonus.

Angel of the Sea has all the charm you could hope for. It’s a beautiful, well maintained mansion. Everyone on the staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. Excellent breakfast every morning. We were half a block from the beach, a very easy walk. Afternoon tea and cakes were great. Convenient parking right behind the mansion, Complimentary beach chairs, umbrellas and towels available for beach use. Bicycles available for sightseeing excursions. They thought of everything. Did I mention the staff? They were great! We felt so welcomed and appreciated. We were very impressed.

The staff there was amazing, but the only bad part is an old Victorian that doesn’t have elevator so you have to walk up a lot of stairs to get to your room
And every time you have to use the bathroom, they don’t have one on the first floor
But the breakfast was very good every morning and they let you pick whatever you want

I loved how it was also close to Washington Street Mall too. I don't think I have any complaints. I would come here again if I went to Cape May in the future.

We booked through Orbitz and apparently the room we had was already booked for the second night so we had to do a room switch. It was a bit of a inconvenience but was ok cause we got to see two different rooms during our visit. We stayed in room 19 first which was lovely. A nice poster bed and real nice shower, would recommend. The second night was room 22. This not so nice. The room was on second floor and had no heat and the windows were stuck open. We didn't realize till middle of the night when we woke up freezing! There were also ants in the shower, just a few but very odd there would be ants in the shower. The breakfast was amazing!! The afternoon tea and wine in the evening was great. Staff was very pleasant. Great location. Would recommend.

I was there for a funeral. They made me comfortable and their kindness was a 20 star and not a 5 star. The people staying there were so nice. The place is beautiful. I was originally given a room with private access and later the young man asked me if I would prefer to stay in the main house instead and he moved me to another beautiful room.
