The environment and location itself is brilliant. However very loud, doors slamming and my sister and niece got bit by a bedbug I am currently awaiting email response from management team. There is a £6 towel charge fee. On three occasions someone tried opening our door between the hours of 12am-1:20am. I guess that was due to them being intoxicated I’m not sure so that made us uncomfortable.

I book a bed in 12 .
My bed was on floor, the floor was very dirty. Shower and bathroom was very very dirty. Second day was no hot water in the morning. The people were very loud and can’t sleep.
I will not recommend it

Room and bathroom spotless. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Venue as a whole very relaxing.

One major problem for elderly visitors. The venue can only be reached via an undulating paved lane of well over half a mile inaccessible to motor traffic which turned out to be a real slog on foot dragging a heavy suitcase.

Although the property in itself was very satisfactory we could never again face the access problems.

Great location & easy to find. No lift made hauling heavy luggage up a spiral staircase with an eight year old in tow, was very difficult. No real restaurant. Shower was push-button made temperature control difficult and drain was clogged with first shower.

Excellent location for shops, transport and the park for a walk. The staff I met were very nice and helpful. The social area was great with lots of room etc. and the facilities in/for the dorms were good. I wish there were notices (on the walls or on the paperwork), however, asking people to be considerate of others. Playing games on telephones/eating noisily are no fun for others at well past midnight when you're trying to sleep. It's bad enough with snorers!

This is a hostel and we were required to provide photo ID (passport/driving license) on arrival which were NOT stated in any hotels.com literature provided. Usually in the UK you are never required to carry these documents but luckily we had passport photocopies available on email on our phones. Staff were fine, location was great, room was noisy as underneath a multi-occupancy hostel room with people arriving and clomping about until all-hours.

bedbugs. they had bedbugs. i am covered in bites. also the power socket at my bed didnt work for my entire trip. despite asking the front desk for help, they offered no alternatives and the socket was never fixed over my multiple night stay. however the location in the park is beautiful and its not far from the high street kensington tube station

The location is ideal, very good bus links into Central London. Tube station within walking distance and theres shops everywhere for essentials, all within walking distance.

Average Stay – Basic but Not Comfortable

Overall, my stay at this hostel was pretty average. The facilities are basic, nothing particularly noteworthy. Unfortunately, it wasn’t very comfortable—I struggled to sleep because guests would come into the room making a lot of noise late at night. The breakfast offered (a croissant, ham, and coffee for £8) wasn’t very nourishing or good value. If you’re looking for a place just to crash for a night or two it’s fine, but don’t expect much in terms of comfort or atmosphere.

From the night I arrived, I kept getting bug bites while in the reception area and bathroom. I reported it to the staff and send photos of the bites as they suggested to management. Didn’t hear anything for two days. I was scratching so badly and couldn’t sleep well because of the bites and woke up in the middle of the night to find a huge bed it crawling on my shirt. I immediately went to reception to report it and they assigned me a new bed in the same room. I assumed they would fumigant or take down the curtain next to my bed which I told them I suspected was were the bugs were living. Later that night when going to bed, I noticed they had assigned the bed to someone else and the curtain was still up. So they clearly don’t care about addressing the issue properly. I suspect they also have bugs in the reception area too as anytime I send along a wall, I had several new bites. I learned to sit in the middle of the room after that. Management didn’t apologize for the trouble. Besides the biting issue which turned my dream vacation to London into a nightmare, the wi-do didn’t reach the room in which I was staying so had to stay near reception tk use it. Mark on the staff was very nice and quite helpful through my ordeal. Had breakfast one morning and that was good. Property is quite and occasional the opera next door has a performance and you can hear it from the courtyard. Great location and easy to reach bus lines and tube stations. Was able to go over all the city from here

The floor made our socks black. We had to wait ages for someone to be able to check us in. So loud, we stayed in a 3 bed room with only one other room above us but the doors slam at every open, meaning each time the room upstairs decided to go out and back in again (which was a lot), it was heard throughout the night.

Worst place for random night out if no physical ID

I had booked a night having stayed a bit late after work in London but was refused to stay as didnt have a passport or driving license, even though i had a digital valid Totum student card and a work photo ID. Who carries their passport or license to work!! As if someone if a driver license is more reliable than other forms of ID.

Have stayed here a few times now, but this was my ‘favourite’ to date. The rooftop terrace was a very welcome surprise and gave me views of the park I would never have seen. The fact the Opera was on at the same time was the icing on the cake! The People working this time were as friendly as ever. Thoroughly recommend staying here to anyone looking for somewhere central that is very budget friendly and clean.

Property not well maintained and needs updating. Person at today’s check in was quite rude. I checked in around 9 pm and asked him for directions to nearby places to eat. He just said go out and either turn right or left and walk 3 minutes. I asked for more detail than that since I am new to the area and he did not answer, just ignored me and started attending to another customer and did not bother to answer me. When I reminded him that he had not answered me, he got upset and told me I was being rude and will be reported!

Go to the place early if its your first time

I book a stay for a night since I'm gonna be watching a concert. The area is a bit hard to locate since it's located inside a park.
The staff were helpful. I completely forgot to bring my passport with me (good thing was the man who's in the front desk was being understanding and accepted the photo and my e-visa).
The size of the bed is fine for a single person you just need to be careful with your head if you're on the lower bunk bed. The bed and the sheets were clean. The floor is a bit dirty the time I checked in though (I need to sit on the floor to sort the things out of my bag since you can't sit on your bed with your upper body straight.
There's only 1 toilet with shower on our floor but then, you can go to other toilets. I'm having a bit of a problem with the shower since there's no thermostat and I find the water way too hot for me.

Good enough for a quick stay for a good price. Very noisy with a lot of children out screaming in the courtyard just outside the sleeping room windows at 6:30am for some reason. Staff was not doing anything to quiet them, despite all the signs regarding quiet hours and respecting your roommates. There were also people smoking directly outside our room's open window. Lots of room for improvement here.

This is a small hostel located in the middle of a very large park. They don’t provide any directions. There are two total entrances Hyde park each a long walk to find the property which is not easily located. The one entrance is a steep hill that bikers are going up and down. It’s unsafe and dark even in the daytime. The park near it is beautiful. The rooms are poorly ventilated and the beds are not appropriate for anyone with disabilities or that are short. They will book you without saying this even if you ask questions and they won’t accommodate you or work with you on a refund after you arrive and discover this. I hope they let me post photos. When I arrive there were so many people with disabilities and ambulation issues in the lobby begging for refunds and water because it was hot and difficult to find in a national park. They should be ashamed of themselves and so should Expedia for allowing them to continue booking people without these warnings posted.

Amazing deaf friendly place

This place was very accommodating and even went the extra mile to accommodate me given my disability. I was super impressed with the staff and their courteous behaviour towards me as a Deaf person. This says a lot about this establishment and their selection of staff. This has to be by far one of the best places I have stayed in to date for their kindness and friendliness towards deaf people. It’s a big deal for someone like me. The only complaint I would have is the other occupants of the room being chaotic with their dumping of bags right next to the beds so I would have to navigate them in the middle of the night. This aside I have rated as fairly as I can.

Expensive hidden costs

Stayed over a few nights. The purposes of choosing this hostel suppose to be economic and try to save up some costs.
Firstly laugh or any kicthen, just a few desks if you prefer est in rather spend lots of money est out. Foods are no allow in the room, also no hot water and microwave as well.
Personal experiances -
Highly recommended some where else as in their are charging a huge price for your storage cost. And the unfriendly front desk staff no even giving the right trainning to give the right information. 3 of us are struggling for the expensive storages charges and actually there are a 2 pounds locker services which they never telling us. And the lady are refusing to admitted even we find out this information with a \"no care\" attitude. If you are after a nice quiet evironment, this is a good place to sleep but not a good customer friendly and warm welcome positive place for your holiday if this is the case!!

Could be cheap cost for sleep at this hostel but when adding the storage cost if you got some baggages, some where else could be better!

Avoid at any cost,whole hostel is full of junkies,people doing drugs every corner,in 2 nights i was there police came in atleast 4 times,not safe for girls/women specially,although they clearly mention no “no check ins after 10pm” the staff have let ppl check in after 12 as well ,so you wont be able to sleep, staff will give you access cards which wont work,will give you beds where someone else is sleeping,last but not least this is a steep climb from holland park station approx 15 mins and you wont find this place as there is a tiny sign at the side of the park, but no where it says “ safestay hostel” or anything, when we were checking in there were 12ppl checking in and only 2 staff who quite conveniently disappeared while arguing with each other, in a nutshell anything but safe,horrendous mockery of a hostel!

The price is right for a room in central London. However, be advised that there is no maid service and you will have the same sheets and towels for the duration of your stay. Finding the place is also a bit tricky so email ahead for directions.

The ad said the windows were open and facing the park, but the sidewalk passed by my windows and door, and there were sewers and manhole covers on the sidewalk. In the middle of the night, people walked across the sidewalk dragging suitcases, and the suitcase wheels made a loud noise.
Advertising is fraud. I demand compensation.

Would definitely not recommend this place for solo females. Labelled a “youth hostel” but I felt like the youngest person there by far. To get into the common area and my room I had to walk past groups of significantly older people (I would say most looked above 40) smoking/drinking etc, one guy was fully passed out. Didn’t make me feel safe at all. I got the vibe that they weren’t even travellers, just looking for a cheap place to stay. This also made it really difficult to socialise, as the hostel didn’t put on any social events.
Location wise it was good, close to Kensington Gardens. Not overly close to a station and being located in a park made it really difficult and unsafe at night, given that Holland Park locks most of its gates. Due to no communication about this from the staff, I spent one night walking the entire perimeter of Holland Park which you can imagine was quite scary in the dark, alone. Overall rooms were fine, except for the shower which was so poorly designed the floor was wet the entire time and only one temperature. Lockers were also broken. Would not stay again and highly recommend that you don’t either

The location of the hostel is fantastic in that it is in a beautiful park and in a very safe neighbourhood. It is at the top of a pretty steep hill (if approaching from the North). The lounge area can get a bit cramped as there is only one. The washrooms are tight but work - though the water cut out several times for myself and others during showers/brushing teeth. The expedia advertisement states a gym (though now looking through other websites' listing they don't) - but it doesn't have a gym. WiFi works okay, I didn't try the breakfast.

Just wanna u know that this is a hostel not a hotel even it’s listed on Hotels.com. The place is inside of Holland park, so u do need to walk a little bit to reach the place. The area itself is very nice. It’s quiet and safe. The beds are all on the firm side. We booked a private room, so we had our own shower. You have to keep pushing the button to get water out, so it’s very frustrating for us whenever u take a shower. They did offer our private room towels. Otherwise you have to pay to have it.
