The room itself was ok, but the fridge did not work, the bathtub was sketchy and covered in dents and bumps, the TV only worked intermittently, the Wi-Fi was good. On my last night, the new people next door were smoking pot out their open window, which then drifted in to my open window. The staff was great! And the location near a tube station, was great as well. However, I would probably not stay again unless the hotel is refurbished.

Sehr geehrtes Hotelmanagement,

während meines Aufenthalts in Ihrem Hotel in London kam es zu mehreren erheblichen Mängeln, die ich hiermit offiziell melden möchte.

Beim normalen Versuch, ein Fenster in meinem Zimmer (Zimmer 607 oder 604, genaue Nummer leider nicht mehr sicher) zu schließen, fiel dieses plötzlich und unkontrolliert herunter und traf mich am Kopf. Das Fenster war offensichtlich defekt und nicht ordnungsgemäß gesichert. Zudem ließ es sich nicht zuverlässig schließen, und es gab keinerlei Hinweis oder Warnung, dass von dem Fenster eine Gefahr ausgeht.

Unmittelbar nach dem Vorfall entwickelte sich eine deutliche Beule am Kopf sowie Symptome wie Kopfschmerzen, Schwindel, Schwäche und Kreislaufprobleme. Auch während des Rückflugs nach Deutschland hielten die Beschwerden an.

Zusätzlich zu diesem Vorfall war die Toilettenspülung im Zimmer nicht ordnungsgemäß funktionsfähig und spülte nur unzureichend. Dieser Mangel beeinträchtigte den Aufenthalt ebenfalls erheblich.

Das Schließen eines Fensters sowie die Nutzung einer funktionierenden Toilette gehören zu den grundlegenden und normalen Erwartungen an ein Hotelzimmer. Die genannten Punkte stellen aus meiner Sicht klare Sicherheits- und Qualitätsmängel dar.

Leider kann ich insgesamt keine positiven Erfahrungen aus meinem Aufenthalt berichten. Aufgrund der genannten Vorfälle und Mängel bitte ich Sie daher um eine angemessene Rückerstattung der Übernachtungskosten.

It's not worth the money I paid, as much as it looked like some posh and classic spot it's nothing sort of in real. Basic power socket charger in room is missing except one for lamp for three guest room, toilet flush is anything but flushing after our business. No lights on pathway or at any common spots if u wanna come out. Windows in the room is not at all closing so as the loo door so one of us need to keep an eye. Heater uffff anything but working. In total worst experience for 200 pounds

It was the overall look and feel of the hotel that was not very impressive, the vibe was giving dive and not clean. Even though I stayed in a single room the bathroom was not giving, very dissoppointed and not what I expected for Earls Court, Llondon. Would never stay here again, very over priced for what it was, I would have muched preferred had I known to have booked an Air BnB for the extra money to rough it is not my idea of money well spent.

GREAT location…. Shops, eateries, and the tube just steps away but then…. You have the down side. We booked a deluxe room, and it was in poor condition. No AC, even with the windows open it was hot. Only a small table top circular fan provided for cooling. The mattress on the bed was VERY HARD…. Almost like lying on a sheet of plywood. Only two outlets for powering medical devices and other electronics. It’s pretty bad when you’re in the shower and you have to ask your traveling partner, to take the key out of the light switch and reset the water flow so you can finish your shower. Crazy, yes. When we spoke to the managerand described what was going on with the water, she kindly told us “ that’s not the way the water works” but in reality that is how it works. Really? The refrigerator was so cold that it froze everything! No way to turn the temp down just a bit. Now for the continental breakfast, Don’t expect much…. You’ll have juice, two kinds of toast with jam and your choice of 2-3 different cereals and milk. Oh you want eggs or and English breakfast???? That is extra. They did offer on request store bought croissants but they were not even warmed. So sad. This hotel could have a lot to offer especially with the charming patio and grass area in the back. With a bit more loving TLC this could be an awesome location. Currently feels more like a hostil than hotel. On a bright note we did find an awesome Italian made from scratch items just around the corner…

The included breakfast was not very exciting. Also it turned out that early departure though promised did not give anything to bring along. Not even the water was turned on for tea in spite of the promise made the evening before.
A very nice and helpful gentlemen who we believe is the owner showed up almost instantly when we needed help to open a window for fresh air.
But I will still recomend the place to friends.

Hotel price for hostel conditions.

After a long day of travel, I was greeted with a locked door and a sign informing me that they’ll be back in 5 minutes. The bathroom was woefully outdated with barely operational faucets. I didn’t risk taken a shower. The flush on the toilet was barely operational too. The overall condition is akin to a hostel. GREAT location though.

The room was okay and close to the tube. The bed was too small for two adults and extremely bad. The shower was also bad. Almost no water. The toilet couldn’t flush. The breakfast was not a good experience. We went out the hole day and when we returned in the afternoon the room wasn’t cleaned. So… We wouldn’t choose this hotel again.

Toilet would not flash, water dripping from zink all the time, dirty carpets, you could hear everything from your neighbor, extremely warm in room. The bathroom was really old. We found a mousse hole in the room. Bar and restaurant was closed all through out our stay.

The rooms are very dirty. I had to ask for an extra towel so I can clean the dust from bed frames and furnitures (travelling with a child having a breathing condition). The bathroom was very dirty too, but the staff didn’t want to provide me with the cleaning supplies and I had to wait till next day for the cleaning staff to clean the bathtub. They came and made only our beds, bathroom remained dirty.
The staff offered me another room which was even in worst condition. Broken toilet seat and sink full of rust!

Even though they are having international tourists, they do not offer adapters for electric plugs or USB plugs to charge the phone's. They sell them for 7£ at the reception, or you can get one at 5£ on the corner store.
There were only 2 plugs in our room. So we had to unplug the tv to charge phones. Ridiculous in 2025!

Fantastic value. I stay at a lot of inexpensive hotels, and they vary widely in quality. This one is really great. While the place is small, it is comfortable and clean, and you can tell the owners are doing all they can to make it a terrific place to stay. There are lots of nice, little touches that show that they care. It's one block from the Earl's Court tube stop, which gets you into central London in 20 minutes. My only criticism is that the free version of the breakfast is really bare-bones - bread for toast, cereal, and fruit juice - and only instant coffee. But you can pay a small surcharge for eggs, and even a full English breakfast.

This isn't the Ritz... and it isn't Ritz prices, either. The staff were EXCELLENT. Made the stay pleasant. There was a glitch with my room, but the staff made it go away. Lovely garden behind the hotel for relaxation, etc. Nice lounge area for waiting. Trouble taken to make the place look nice.

Great location. However I was very dissatisfied as we were not able to shower in our room as the shower would not turn on at all and also it did not have a working light insg the bathroom didn’t work in the bathroom.
I did let the lovely friendly front staff know and all I was just told was “oh I’m sorrys”
After traveling for over 24 hrs to get to London saying one day before catching our cruise and not being able to shower was extremely disappointing as we only rented this to sleep and shower before heading off. Disappointed that was not even offered any compensation, and that is not that way to make a happy customer in the event of these circumstances, but more importantly how it was handless as I did not receive the amenities I had paid for.

My place by Earl's Court

I was on the 6th floor in a small but adequate room. The elevator worked fine, and the bed and everything else in the room were reasonably comfortable. The continental breakfast was nothing but cereal and bread, so I went out for breakfast. There is NO shortage of shops and restaurants next to Earl's Court!

Nous avons passer 5 nuits dans cette hôtel et franchement je suis tres déçu. Tres vieux meubles a moitié cassés, les fenêtres de notre chambre étaient cassées,donc tout le.froid qui rentre mais apparemment ce n est pas un problème important ils ont mis une serviettepoir le froid !! On nous as changer de chambre le lendemain.il faudrait qu ils pensent a changé les verres en gros plastique qui sont lavé ,et lavé donc plus tres net et les tasses du petit déjeuné qui sont cassées. Les croissants et les pains au chocolats sont des vienoiseries en sachet qu ils réchauffe au micro ondes.

Ok where to start, the room was very small television could only get a handful of channels, the duvet didn’t fit the double bed , had a broken oil filled radiator that was broken and the heating in the room didn’t work, the bathroom was tiny, the bath didn’t hold water as plug was broken, you couldn’t dry yourself in the bathroom as there was no room. Spoke to receptionist but all we got was another duvet which also didn’t fit the bed , also breakfast finished at 09.30 which is far to early so never got to eat in the hotel

The photos on this website must be 10+ years old. The hotel emailed an extensive pdf of information, which informed me that 'all rooms come with a fridge' - the first room I was given did not have a fridge. I was moved to a different room because the bedroom (sash) windows were stuck open almost a foot wide (both of them) making it very noisy in the room. The second room did have a fridge, and was an improvement (I've included photos in my review) but still looks nothing like the photos on this booking site. The lighting like in most hotels is controlled by putting your door keycard into a box, the box was not located in the same positiion it is in ever other hotel I've ever stayed at - it was located over 5 & a half foot from the floor (above my eye level), and I needed to use my phone torch to locate it! It looked like a thermostat! The bed was comfy. the bathroom was also dated, it even included a set of analogue bathroom scales. I cant comment on breakfast as it wasnt provided until 8am and I had to leave before then. The lift in the morning wasnt working so I had to drag by case down 10 flights of stairs from the 5th floor - I told the people on reception but they didnt seem interested. The bar was in semi darkness at 9pm with a table of staff? as they eventually served me. I asked for a drinks menu and was told they didnt have one, until I came to pay then one magically appeared. £10 for 175ml of average merlot.

Where to start...

Lose panels, lousy pipe fittings and broken furniture were all things I could handle. But stained towels, pillows that had about an inch of fluff tipped things over the edge. Breakfast was a joke. Tried upgrading it once but scrambled eggs were dry and a complete surprise how bacon was only included in the pricy alternative. And as for the coffee, prepare yourself for nescafe coffee. And also I didn't find any yoghurt. A quite common breakfast ingredient.

Good location, It's an OK hotel.

The location is really good, it's just around the corner from Earls court Tube station so you can get anywhere quickly. Also if you're interested in the Brompton cemetery which has been used for film sets this is a short walk away and well with a visit. The hotel itself was ok. There wasn't anything amazing about it, the room was comfortable, the bathroom quite small but we managed. There were a couple of small maintenance jobs that needed doing in our bathroom, the toilet seat was broken and the metal tap to swap from shower to bath was loose at the wall. Breakfast was ok, just small things which could have made the whole experience a little bit better. The coffee was a supermarket own brand instant coffee, ( I saw the shelves in the kitchen with rows of the stuff) which I don't mind as I don't drink coffee but it made me wonder about the other breakfast products. Now I'm not that bothered if everything is but I do feel that as a paying customer you should be informed of this when booking as it gives you a better choice of the place. The glasses on the table were all plastic which I believe gives the wrong impression as plastic becomes cloudy overtime so it just gave the impression of a place struggling a bit. The outside could do with a bit of TLC just to make it more inviting, it didn't look like the pictures on the website. Maybe if the price was slightly cheaper then I wouldn't have had higher expectations of the place and these small things wouldn't have bothered me.

The hotel itself has a nice green backyard, good breakfast facilities with correct \"continental\" breakfast included. Coffee was Nescafé style. The room had a new carpet but furnitures and bathroom are quite dated. For the bed I was afraid that ut is breaking apart. A/C was not working.

Arrived & found out “holding our bags til check in” means putting your name on it & leave in the public lobby. Had no cold water the 1st night. Had to shower in a vacant room. No air-conditioning so turned fan on fast as it can go/opened windows thru locked gate guards with no latches on the window. Breakfast isn’t til 8 so if you are sightseeing have to rush after that.

For anyone with greater expectations or planning to spend more time in London, My Place may present a few issues. Coffee in the morning, for example, was instant only, although I enjoyed the warm croissants the workers offered.
While the double occupancy rooms were more spacious, I stayed in a single room where I didn’t have the space to open my suitcase & also walk freely within the square footage the room had to offer. I ended up putting a chair in the hallway & pushing an armoire & a refrigerator against the wall to leave enough space for an open suitcase (leaving about1-foot of clearance to walk around it).
The hot water in my room did not work late one evening, & I suggested the option of showering in an unoccupied room. After about 40 mins I was given that courtesy (for which I am very grateful). The light above the bathroom sink flickered on and off often and rapidly, & turning it off seemed to be the only solution (the bathroom had two lights, thankfully).
The hotel was located only about a quarter block from the tube station, a very practical solution for a tourist who enjoyed the amazing sights of London.

Hotel was very covenient to Earls Court tube station. Contiental breakfast was lummted but adequate.
Major problem with bathroom sink. Was blocked for my entire stay - 3 days. I complained to reception each day and nothing was done. Had to brush teeth and shave leaning over bath for 3 days - dusgusting.

Overall a good place to stay for the price, if you plan on being out and about it is close very close to transit!

I wouldn’t spend a day in the room, but it is convenient end located for somewhere just to sleep.

As others have said it could indeed use some updates - and overall the room and bathroom was quite small.

While the continental breakfast was good, we found our room to be noisy all night from the traffic outside, extremely warm and the bed sank in the middle which was very uncomfortable. The shower overflowed on to the floor, there was no power to the water and trying to get the right temperature of the shower took a long time!

It was a nice hotel with friendly staf. No problems at all. The cleaning was good but the building is obviously old. The noice from the trafic was quite loud but it is what it is. The neighbourhood is nice with a lot of different restaurants and the underground just around the corner. We enjoyed it very much.

La habitación está muy mal insonorizada, mucho ruido de la calle.
La cama es muy grande pero tengo moraduras en la piernas de darme golpes contra las patas de atrás. No hay espacio para pasar. El baño muy viejo y la bañera peligrosa por ser muy resbaladiza y solo sale agua por arriba.
El desayuno incluido es muy pobre. Deberían de avisar de que hay que pagar por tener al menos huevos, solo dulce y pidiéndolo.

Very small room and they charge extra for certain breakfast items. They also want you to leave your key at the front desk each time you go out. My room was also hot but they provided a fan. Toilet sometimes didn’t flush correctly. I do like the garden space and the neighborhood - just right next to the Underground station!

When we arrived to our room the windows had been left opened and the room had flies. We spent time trying to kill them and tried to get the windows shut. The windows seemed to have gaps and we could not get them closed completely After dinner we asked the front staff to assist and he agreed something was wrong with them. This was also on the front of the building along a noisy busy street. We asked for another room or to be allowed to cancel our stay. After over an hour they finally moved us to another room after they had said they were booked. Upon first look it seemed ok but we had issues with the bathroom in there. After staying the one night I was able to speak to the manager and they finally let us out of the rest of the stay and refunded us the remainder of our funds so we moved to another hotel

I always stay at My Place when in London. Convenient to the Earls Court tube station for easy access to Heathrow, Paddington, West End theatres, etc. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are not fancy, but there's an outdoor garden area for relaxing. Luggage storage is available for a fee.

Very basic

The very basic London low-end hotel, clean and nice enough to stay for a few nights. Breakfast is toast, musli, and instant coffee, so you have to pay extra for eggs, and if you want to have a real coffee, there are coffee shops around the corner.

Not a great stay looks good on the pictures but in reality it’s dirty and everything was broken. Unless your looking for a cheap spot to sleep don’t stay here. It’s only redeeming factor was the shower pressure.

Lacking in basics.

We had to ask for pillows as the ones we had was as flat as a pancake.
No tea or kettle to make a drink, and towells was just small. We know it’s a budget hotel but these things are basic and expected.
We found the room and en-suite dated but it did the job.
Would stay again as well situated. Just think these few things would have given you a much better review.

It’s only the second time I have stayed in a hotel where toast or a danish is breakfast.
Receptionist was poor when called to check about my reservation and said I didn’t have one so I booked it the day before I arrived .
When I actually arrived at the hotel they told me I had booked twice.
Whilst the room was ok , I wasn’t impressed with the staff.

The staff seemed friendly. The hotel stank horribly and the room cleaning was a disaster, it was only cleaned superficially, if at all. The bathroom was not cleaned for most of the stay. The included breakfast was a complete disaster, just toast that went through a \"toaster\" in slow motion. You would have to do this 20 times to get anything halfway decently toasted. 2 types of jelly and instant coffee. Croissants were also served from a basket, but since the lady had her long hair hanging in it, it was absolutely disgusting. Would never go there again and advise anyone against it. I really don't have high expectations but this space is HORRIBLE.

Avoid My Place Hotel

The My Place Hotel was poor. The carpet is stained, the AC was broken, quality Wi-Fi costs money, the Continental breakfast was bread and two cereal options with instant coffee, and the entire experience was poor. The neighborhood, too, is incredibly loud all night long. My Place Hotel is to be avoided. Book elsewhere.

Beautiful older hotel steps from the underground. Convenient for an over night layover. Comfortable beds and a great value for the price. Decor was lovely. Rooms were on the smaller side.
