The room was great for what we needed, bed and pillows were super comfy, no complaints there with the sleep.
Shower great, enough space for me and my partner.
Our coffee machine wouldn’t dispense the coffee sadly (could have been a user error) but one thing that was annoying was our floorboards were super squeaky. We felt it would affect the floor below us.
We would definitely stay again, no hesitation, but we’ve been unlucky with a minor moan.

I honestly had higher expectations on this hotel, but it was very disappointing.
The elevator takes ages to work and you feel like you’ll get stuck there every time you get in.
The rooms seem old and the floors literally move while you walk. It was mission impossible trying to get to my room with 2 bags because the hallways are extremely narrow and they even have stairs, like, why?
The AC doesn’t work and you feel like you’re in a sauna all night.
The hairdryer doesn’t work for longer than 2 minutes before you need to let it rest for it to work again, which makes it impossible to use.
Wouldn’t stay here again.

The property is newly renovated .. comfortable beds and new and modern bathroom wi the large fluffy towels and bathrobes… wish they had slippers though. Go for the suites for more space. Convenient location.

Door wouldn’t lock anyone could walk into my room - had to wait to get sorted then had to change rooms. Room was clean enough. However shower was extremely small and unless you stand completely under no room. Location was convenient. Aircon was very noisy and lots of noises through the night within the walls.

Clean rooms, kind/friendly/knowledgable staff, excellent/safe/quiet location near Earls Court tube & bus lines. Good restaurants & well stocked grocery nearby.
The issue is the rooms. Our first room was smaller than advertised and the beds/furniture were crammed in with a window half hidden behind a wall. The floor is very warped/uneven (NOT exaggerating), it squeaked horribly & was difficult to walk on it. Must be from continuous water damage - it was impossible to prevent the shower from soaking the floor. The angle of the spray and the limited space of the room made it run out of the small glasses section onto the floor, even with towels. The room is directly across from the lift and stairs so there’s constant foot traffic noise. You can hear pipes rattling and water draining/flushing through the walls. To top it off, the HVAC is noisy, and not controlable. Our room was too warm, and adjusting the control didn’t work, so we asked the front desk. They fixed it for a night, but it reset the next day, and the room again heated up. Then there was the problem of the lights at night -under/around the door, multiple lights on the ceiling, so much light at night! It felt like a punishment to sleep here and we are used to small quarters. After 2 nights we asked to change rooms and moved to a slightly larger one on the first floor. Better overall except for the same issues with the heat, water noises & ceiling lights. Great staff & location, pretty decor, but not at all restful.

Adorable, clean room with London charm! Staff were so nice and able to store our luggage before our room was ready and after check out. Breakfast buffet in the morning is a must. Super convenient location, 3 min walk from earl's court station, m&s, and other food spots around. Would definitely stay here again!

Lovely room, all staff very friendly and helpful! Fabulous location and great amenities.

Only issues were the in room heating/AC (hard to use, heating was on blast even when cooling setting was on and temp set to low so room was always really warm), the door lock was very slow to unlock, and the person who checked me in (whilst very lovely and professional) announced my room number - as a solo female traveller it didn’t feel very safe to do so. Overall a fantastic stay and I’ll definitely be back!

The location was excellent for our visit to London, the hotel was clean and beautifully decorated. Our room was spacious for London, clean, comfortable and had good amenities including a coffee machine, toiletries, gowns and slippers. The bed was comfortable, for us a little too soft, however we slept well with quality bedding and the surrounding area was quiet. Breakfast was excellent with good choice and tasteful food. Staff were professional and welcoming.

The room was quiet but needs to be updated . The bedsheets were clean, the TV worked, the bathrooms were terribly small. The barn door to the bathroom did not work properly and it was right across from our bed. The front desk staff was helpful. The housekeeping service was okay. It took 30-45 mins for an iron and a bottle of water. The lobby was beautiful. If they renovated the rooms like the lobby, I would come back.

The hotel was a lovely surprise. Centrally located and close to tube stations, we found it a perfect base for our London adventure. The room, though small, was well appointed and very well maintained. The breakfast was great with lots of options. The dinners were also good quality and well priced. The staff were always helpful and attentive.

Room was very small, TV didn't work initially but this was quickly sorted. Wet room concept is quite good but everything in the bathroom gets soaked so it is difficult to use the toilet. 'Influencers' are annoying at breakfast and the service charge when ordering at the bar is an annoyance as you don't know the price you are actually paying. Staff are really friendly and helpful

Room allocated was not the one booked. Bed was not queen size as advertised. Felt like a double. No bedside table until requested. Had to request a kettle. Lights can't be controlled from the bed. No bedside lamps. Basement room with no views. Breakfast was basic.

The hotel room came out highly rated on many sites. It was VIP access and got zero upgrades for anything. The room was so small. We are two women driving together with suitcases no place with a suitcase. Not even one drawer to put things in. Five hangers in a little small corner to hang five things. Would never stay here again if I didn’t upgrade to a room with a terrace, which I would think is doors that open to a sitting area patio overlooking things like their website shows we would have been in the basement of the hotel. Literally down the stairs outside in the basement. I feel like the whole hotel is smoking mirrors looks beautiful and has nothing.

I can see why the hotel was cheaper than a lot of other places in the area. This hotel is trying way too hard to be elegant, and they need to calm things down and master the basics. There’s a strange incongruence in the rooms. It’s like they have an old rundown, dusty feel, but they’re trying to gloss it over with expensive appearing furnishings, high priced tea cups and gold silverware. The rooms look old even though the hotel was recently refurbished and just opened last year. The machine in the room that is used to make coffee and tea is way too complicated to use. They need to simplify their process. The design of the restrooms is totally dangerous. There is no clear distinction between the shower, the toilet and sink. I could see this being a serious safety issue for somebody who is elderly because the floors in the bathrooms are not slip resistant. Rethink your concept Ellen Kensington.

Burn or accept to be awaken by a fire alarm.

Spent 4 nights on the 3rd floor. Very clean, my room was of very acceptable size for one person (\"compact double\", more compact than double though), bathroom in perfect condition, great front desk, copious breakfast, excellent value. Two problems though, one minor and one major:

Minor problem: the elevator is the slowest possible elevator anywhere on the planet since the invention of the elevator and then, quite often, when going from the reception to the third floor, it would actually first go to the fourth floor and then turn back down to the third.

Major problem: on the first night at around 1 am, I was awaken by the fire alarm and again on the fourth night it awakened me once at 2:30 am and a second time at 5:30 am. Many people actually went down the stairs during the 2:30 alarm because it lasted for some time. They have oversensitive smoke detectors that are triggered by steam from hot showers or by spray. 2 nights out of 4 awaken by a false alarm is a bit too much and I will not return before reassurances that the problem has been fixed.

We had a great 3 night stay at the Ellen! The front desk staff, breakfast staff and housekeeping staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, clean and had many amenities. We do wish there had been a luggage rack in the room. (But I’m sure one would have been brought to us if I had asked : ) The breakfast and the breakfast space were fantastic!! This hotel and it’s location checked all the boxes for us.

We stayed for one night as were in London for a show. Hotel prices in London are very pricey so when i found this \"Compact\" room for the price i was happy to book and in a very easy to get to location. The room was compact but they did what they could with the space and the bathroom was clean and modern with lovely hand wash and clean towels.
