Overall, this is a nice property. Rooms are very nice, as is the rest of the property. Staff communication was excellent. Close to downtown. What wasn't great was the breakfast. Food was not great and mostly cold when unwrapping the plastic wrap from the plate, despite being seated when it arrived. English muffin not toasted and plastic wrap caused frittata to get cold, moist and soggy. Another day, french toast casserole was good, but scrambled eggs were cold and heavily salted. We didn't eat there a third day. Also, no coffee maker in rooms, but was available in dining room. Unfortunately, it was not hot either. These are easy fixes that would make this place really great.

Blackbird Inn was a delightful B&B which is located across the street from the Wine Spectator and a short walk to the downtown area which a slew of restaurant options. We were pleasantly surprised at the lovely turn of the 20th century home, the hospitality, and the easy social atmosphere during the daily breakfast and Happy Hour. It was our first time in Napa and we are so glad we decided to stay here. The staff were lovely and our room was great. We loved the huge bath tub in our bathroom. We were just blocks away from downtown so it was really nice to be able to walk back and forth through our visit instead of dealing with driving and parking. We will definitely book here again when we come back to Napa.

The room was beautiful, nice deep tub and fireplace.We sat in front of the fireplace to warm up after a cool evening walking in Napa. The room had two entrances (one right next to check in and the other emptied out into a small terrace quite close to the street) . The terrace entrance we didn’t use because it didn’t appear too well lit when we went out in the evening. Being so close to the street you do get traffic noise.
One drawback to the Inn is the driveway it is off a busy road and comes up on you rather quickly. We had to try twice to make it in safely. It could be marked with a larger sign.

We so wished we had stayed here longer instead of splitting up our vacation between Napa and San Francisco! We'll only stay here in future!!! The reviews were right about location, downtown is few walking blocks away! We enjoyed our daily hot breakfast and since the wineries close by 5, the wine happy hour with charcuterie was a good social hour where guests shared their day experiences, we got alot of good tips! We were texted in advance our fireplace stopped working, left bottle of champagne for inconvenience and upgraded room. We'd picked our room for the fireplace and the soaking tub. We stayed in our original room (#7) the first night and I really loved relaxing in the tub, they even provide bath salts! Although the fireplace wasn't working there was a very modern digital heating/ cooling system so we were never uncomfortable. We talked about just staying in that room, but my husband saw the upgrade room (#12) the next day and there was no talking him down afterwards LOL! We moved to the separate house, very large suite with balcony, walk-in closet and very large bathroom, they were not kidding about upgrade! What a gorgeous suite! Beds were on firmer side, did aggravate my sciatica, but between soaking and icing kept it under control. Amenities like infused cucumber water, coffee, tea, snacks were always available. Please take time to appreciate all the intricate woodwork and painted glass details! We met the owner Scott, the builder, while he was cleaning the leaves!

We really enjoyed our stay at Blackbird inn. Room was clean and had an easy to use fireplace. We also loved the patio, which might be a good option to enjoy in summer. Location was perfect, you can basically walk around to visit plenty of tasting rooms, restaurants, river and oxbow market. The only thing missing was number seats during breakfast and we had to wait for other people to finish even though we booked for certain time slot. In one morning we had to take our plates to the room because no seats were available.

We had a very enjoyable time staying at the Blackbird Inn. The only downside is that our room seemed to be on a busy street and we definitely experienced some traffic noise including emergency vehicles in the middle of the night. Other than that, the room was very nice (love the fireplace and balcony), the inn is gorgeous with all of its Craftsman charm, and we would definitely stay again!

I stayed during the first week of Sept. The property is conveniently located a few mins walking from downtown Napa, very close to restaurants and shopping. The room I stayed in the Finch Guest house was excellent, very clean, a comfortable king bed with many pillows as I like it, and the bathroom was huge with walking shower and tub, I would say much better than many 3 and 4 stars hotels I have been. The breakfast was good, good strong coffee and variety of juices, cereal and yogurts. The staff was great too! I recommend it!

Comfortable Cozy Inn in the heart of Napa
We stayed on the first floor and had breakfast on our little deck every morning. It was beautiful, sunny, relaxing and the birds were chirping.The breakfasts were amazing. You could choose to eat in the dining room also. Parking on site and check in was easy. We were within about a half hour from Rutherford, St. Helena, Sonoma and all the wineries and restaurants we wanted to visit. The river and walking areas were very close, about a mile I think. The staff was truly amazing, with daily texts to see if we needed anything and fast responses. There was also a wine and cheese happy hour each day at 5pm. Just another great offering at this beautiful b&b. We would stay here again and I highly recommend this inn to everyone who wants to experience the quaintness of downtown Napa with all the comforts of home and closeness to all wineries.

There is some noise from traffic, but it was not a big issue during our weeknight. We slept well on the comfy mattress. We could hear sounds from the kitchen below very early in the morning. Luckily, we had gone to bed early, so it did not bother us. The other guests seemed to honor the request to limit noise at night.
The bed is very high, and the toilet very low. A tall stool by the bed and a grab bar installed by the toilet would help to prevent injuries for older guests. Do other rooms also have these issues?
The breakfast cook made an effort to adjust the frittata for those w special dietary needs--thoughtful! The muffins were fine, but the attractive portions of frittata tasted bad. Hope they see this and sub a tastier recipe. Would stay again, because it was easy for us to grab a roll on our way out of town, and we valued other criteria more.

If you enjoy historical, older facilities, this is nice. The common area was beautifully restored. Nice Happy Hour and breakfast. Nice property; feels like a house with bedrooms. Did NOT like the comforter. Most hotels would have the comforter in a duvet but this comforter was simply placed on our bed without any cover. It felt unsanitary and we could not use it. We ended up using bathroom towels as our blanket.

We arrived, and the woman who was the host was not very welcoming. We did arrive early, but she was hostile, and did not make any recommendations in a friendly way as to where we could go what we might want to do. There was no shampoo or cream rinse in the bathroom and I had to ask for it the following day I had to ask for towels and retrieve them myself. The breakfast was terrible unripe fruit, a somewhat stale pastry everything wrapped in plastic. The room itself was comfortable and the surrounding gardens lovely. It has gone downhill from the first time I stayed there.

Our stay at the Blackbird Inn was amazing! The rooms and the lobby have so much character! So much more fun than a cookie cutter hotel. The complimentary breakfast was surprisingly delicious and the wine and cheese happy hour was a nice touch. I would absolutely recommend. The only downside was there was a bit of road noise outside of our room.

The Blackbird Inn was a great place to stay - it was very close to downtown Napa, and it really felt like home. The breakfasts and happy hours were amazing and the home baked goods were a tasty treat! I loved our room with the walkout porch. We can't wait to come back to the Napa Valley area, and when we do we will definitely stay at the Blackbird Inn.
