A terrible stay at this hotel for my first visit to London. First off, the checkin process was not smooth- received an email saying I could check in online but the stayz app did not recognize my reservation number. Showed up at hotel around 1430 and the door was locked . Had to communicate via whatsapp which was painful . Finally received a door code 20 minutes later. Upon room arrival, no working AC , no working WIFI, no working TV, smoke smelling room. After flying 13 hours, I could not even take a shower because the shower head bar broke off and the water temperature was scalding hot! Numerous unanswered messages regarding complete lack of amenities and the inability to take a shower. No one was working at front desk to help.
And to end my night, the building fire alarm went off for about 10 minutes and I received a whatsapp message with a video showing me how to turn off a fire alarm!
My reservation was prepaid for 3 nights but I left after the first night. I complained to the hotel about their lack of amenities via whatsapp since there was no one at the front desk again when I left in the morning . I received a \" Sorry for your experience email but your reservation is non refundable\" email.There are plenty of other hotels in that area- it's worth the extra few bucks it may cost. Leaving after the first night was the best decision I made.

No hooks to hang clothes. Peeling wallpaper. Loud traffic all night. A company that can’t even be bothered to bang a book into a wall for clothes is just taking money off people. Staff was nice and friendly though - hope he gets a job in a better place

Very nice spacious room. I still can’t figure out the optimised AC settings but maybe next time. I slept so well, I would have appreciated a slightly more flexible attitude upon checkout. I was ushered out bang on checkout time without any flexibility. Just worth being aware in case you’re as tired as I was when I checked in.

This hotel is ok for the price and location, I know it has been recently taken over and I think the rooms woul benefit from having working TVs, more hooks or storage, milk and bath towels, not hand towels.

I was hoping that this would become a regular place to stay for work but after last night, I would not stay there again. The manager came to my room at 10:45pm to ask if the previous occupant of the room had left anything in the room ( they had been moved to a new room). Over the course of the night, it became clear why this had happened. The couple in room 5 were arguing all night and going in an out of their room slamming firedoors every single time. This went on until 6:45am, by which time I had to leave for work. There are no staff onsite over night but I did reach out directly to the area manager and booking agent but have received no response, acknowledgment or apology. I saw a member of staff as I was leaving who said oh yes the lady in room 5 is a nightmare. As this was known, I find it completley unacceptable that they thought it was ok to put someone else in the room

On arrival our TV in the roomwas not working, we went down to the Man sitting at reception and reported it, we were told someone would come and sort it. We went out for the evening, on our return home we were very disappointed that this had not been fixed.

Shops and tube very near which was great. TV was not working and air con didnt work either. Would bring an extra pillow as the flat thing provided was no good and had to sleep with all my clothes under it.
It was noisy from street and other guests walking arounf however ear plug worksd fund for this and to be expected in entral london.
Overall was fine for the price but defo could have done with a working TV and a pillow that you could sleep on.

We stayed at Wembar Hotel from November 18th to 21st. The room was small and okay, but unfortunately, it was not cleaned during our stay. The air conditioning was not working, and when I asked about it, they said it was broken. After mentioning that we felt cold at night, they provided a small heater, which worked well, and given the size of the room, it was sufficient.

The location is quite far from downtown London, and the hotel has no additional facilities. Overall, the stay was acceptable for a short visit,

Arrived at midday and wanted to leave a small case there until I could check in later. Could not enter the hotel and was standing outside with three other ladies wishing to do the same thing. I was told that I would be given a code to enter the hotel at 3pm. I received the code at 7.20pm and by that time I was so disgusted with the lack of help I booked another hotel. I never went into the hotel and would tell anyone else to avoid it like the plague.

This hotel is very well situated for Earls Court. The room was clean and compact. We asked for extra pillows which were given without fuss. Only downside was the hotel is unmanned so it was a bit of a pain getting in.

Horrible. The carpet is disgusting in hallways. Everyone states they didn’t get the email for check in and same with me. You have to call or what’s app to get codes but arriving abroad, you better have your SIM card figured out or in trouble. The code to get into my room was wrong, I received a five digit code but the lock box was only four numbers. The place was disgusting and there were either blood handprints on the curtains or chocolate, it was disgusting. There wasn’t even a hand towel in the bathroom. After a three minute shower, the basin was almost overflowing and there were big patches of mold in the shower. The chair in the room also had a big blood stain on it. The whole place would benefit from a magic eraser taken to the walls. My room faced the street and it was so loud, I thought my windows were open, when I pulled back the blood stained drapes, I was surprised to see the window closed. Would NEVER recommend or stay again.

The general condition of the room is very below standards. From cleanliness to state of fittings, walls , etc.
On top this, there was a leak from the showers of the upstairs rooms leaking through the night and morning. As a professional in the building sector, these facilities are not up to the standard of habitability.

We will most likely not be back. There was no one at reception when we arrived which made our check-in process inconvenient. Even if we were there before 3, we just wanted to drop our bags and head out but we were told to come back at noon to do so. The door handle was falling off when we got there (they did end up fixing it the next day). The room had a bad smell as soon as you walked in and the tv wasn’t working. Also, the room needs a deep clean.

The room floor was filthy like it’s never been cleaned I messaged and the cleaner came with a spray bottle and a dirty mop. I had to wipe with toilet paper after to actually clean the floors. Walls are dirty , needs to be painted and maintained. Nothing like the image, Those were taken at the time of renovation which was totally years ago. Building itself is really dirty and old. The cleaner had the bags of clean laundryon the dirty floor , sheets were touching the dirty carpet

Room was as described and all of the staff was very friendly and accommodating even when we had to get a room last minute due to a flight cancellation they had it ready within minutes as well as let us check in early. If you stay in fall or winter or if you luck out and get a room with AC you’re perfect however it can get a bit uncomfortable if you are staying in summer with no AC but that is anywhere you go. Overall I would book this place again in a heartbeat as it’s close to the underground, tesco express is right around the corner and overall it’s a nice area!!

Location is really good bus and tube only minutes walk away and perfect for the museums Harrods etc. Tesco and other shops very close by. Our check in was slow as we was not sent the instructions via email before we got there but when we did get in staff were very good and helpful.

Overall a little disappointed with the stay, we had booked the deluxe double room and when we got there the room we had was not representative of what was advertised when booking the deluxe double room. Pictures aren’t really true to what was advertised either, understand price is reasonable which is okay. Was not very clean, hair and dirt on the floors/shower/bed. Bed was comfortable though. The AC didn’t really work that well so it was quite uncomfortably warm in the rooms. I will say the staff were lovely and attentive but would not be returning.

Property was largely clean, however a leaky air conditioner caused some very wet bedsheets, the staff changed these once notified of the problem tho.
There was mold in the bathroom, with some very rusted fittings. Wallpaper was wrapped and damaged.
A deluxe room was booked to gain a coffee machine, but this was not present.

the location was amazing, close to the Earl’s Court Underground and also close to a range if shops for food. The room was quite small as expected, however unfortunately the aircon was weak and didn’t seem to work at all, thankfully we could open the window for fresh air. The bathroom also tight as expected however what wasn’t expected was a partially blocked drain which meant the shower floor filled up quick and we would be standing in a puddle of our grime. The service however we couldn’t fault as they always replied fast and were helpful when we needed. Although they don’t hold your luggage post checkout, they did accomodate for an early check in for us.

Wow this hotel is noisy. On the positive side, the room was clean and the shower was great, the bed was ok, but you could tell it was a £60 hotel in Kensington. Plus its a 2 minute walk from Earl's Court station. hence 2* not the 1* it should probably get.

On the negative, My room was ground floor, front of the property next to the front door with a curtain not quite wide enough block light from outside and single glazed windows and the hotel is on a very busy road. Needless to sday I got about 3 hours sleep.

It's a budget hotel and in this area you get what you pay for, but the least I expect is to get a quiet(ish) nights sleep which you will not get if you stay in the room I did.

Also, it should be noted that the reception staff will send you a message on Whatsapp the night before asking you to send a copy of your ID. Always worth double checking these things before sending personal information but this is actually the hotel getting in touch.

There’s nothing I enjoyed about the property for the following reason:
1) I am in the last floor Room 13 without a lift; climbing the stairs with heavy luggages and arthritis was very unpleasant despite me asking to be re-situated.

2) WiFi does NOT work even for a second for my entire 3 nights in the room and I believe it works on the lower floors.

3) The bathroom, both shower and sink have poor drainage especially the sink

4) The smart TV in the room is not connected to at least show any channels.

5) The outside traffic noise and sirens will keep you up all night

6) A window screen is highly suggested as I narrowly escaped a bird coming through the window when I opened for ventilation.

7) Check-in process is not seamless especially for international guests that doesn’t have local calls capability. Sharing the WhatsApp number will be most effective.

8) No check-in procedure email was sent to me hence causing a lot of inconveniences.

Awful. I got a attic room. Too hot, damp and moldy smell. 5th floor no lift/elevator. Stair case is too narrow. Bed was bad and bumpy. Pillow case had 2 pillows in one case. They were clumpy pillows. They knew they needed to change the pillows but they didnt, so they just put 2 in one case. When I asked the staff that room looks nothing like pic, they said they get that statement all the time and they haven't updated pictures on the website in many years. What got me the most is that they have heard all these complaints and knew the issues but never chose to deal with it. The bathroom had mold on the pipes and toilet paper. There was an issue with the TV, so I asked them to fix it. They came to fix it while I was gone but when I came back, the TV still had the same issue.

They sent me a wrong code for getting into our room; they helped over the phone it took just over 15 minutes for them to figure it out and get us room access. Then in the morning during my shower, the entire shower head and fixture fell off the wall and pelted my head leaving me with a huge welt on my forehead and scalp. The smoke detector/carbon-monoxide detector was also hanging by wires from the ceiling. The staff come off very friendly but I don’t need to be wailed in the head again to know I’m not coming back.

I am extremely disappointed. Not only did we arrive to find the shower dirty, marks on the walls and the tv not working, we also had no hair dryer and windows would not stay open unless we stood there to hold it up. We called the number provided and for an hour they strung us along leading us to believe that someone was coming to look at the tv and to bring a hairdryer. They told us the person was literally on their way only for me to keep calling every half hour to find a different excuse and in the end them say they didn’t have any hairdryers spare. If there was none why tell me someone was on the way with it and why were they still not attending to fix the tv. They lied and made me wait wasting my evening. I had to ask a neighbour to borrow theirs. There were also several people outside waiting for room numbers and looks so lost. It was a complete shambles. I will be making a complaint. Definitely not what I paid for.

Easy check in process and staff contacted to ensure we’d checked in okay on arrival. Small basic room, double bed and small bathroom. Headboard of the bed was broken and weak. Shower door was a little stiff and difficult to get in and out. Window seemed to be a little open the whole stay. Room was a bit too cold and pillows were uncomfortable. But it’s in a great location which was the main thing for the stay here, significantly cheaper than anywhere else. Wouldn’t stay for longer than two nights, would probably stay again short term.

Our bed head was broken, not attached to the bed and banged against the wall when getting on the bed. The bathroom stunk of urine when the shower was used. The room while had a general clean needs some maintenance, just felt gross. The spoon was dirty, like someone had stirred a coffee and put it back and they didn’t check it. I asked for more toilet paper and it wasn’t put in the room so we had no toilet paper on our last night.

You can hear everything, from the people who fought in the hotel in the middle of the night, to the person singing in their room at 7am to every vehicle that past.

The cleaner who was there as we arrived and left were lovely at offering to help carry our luggage up and down. We really appreciated that.

Noise on Saturday night was awful - first from traffic - so sound proofing is inadequate and then from the hall above between 4am and 5am when someone was moving bags loudly for an hour and ruined my sleep.

I dont know that I would call this a hotel more of an air B&B. There was no staff in the building that I saw in 3 days so have to enter and obtain your own keys. I will say the process was easy enough. The room was very small but clean. The TV did not work. The best part was the location very close to the underground. Overall fine for the price, but I would not stay again.

Convenient location in Earls Court area and clear instructions to enter and get keys. However it is extremely noisy throughout the night with road noise and poor sound insulation so very hard to sleep. In relation to the bathroom there was no shampoo and the water from the shower on the cool water setting was almost scalding. So whilst reasonable value am unlikely to stay here again.

Why does it state (on Expedia) that check-in ends at 11:00 PM when there's no hotel staff at front desk? The room was very small (yes, quite common in London) but the rate was cheap (I needed a room for one night only) but updated. What was really annoying was the shower in room #12. I was not able to take a proper shower - the water pressure was low and I could not change the water temperature no matter what I tried - the water was unfortunately too hot! The drain was backed-up; so I ended up with water almost up to my ankles. It was a miserable shower! Two positives, it was inexpensive and convenient to Earl's Court tube stop.

Its a great place if you dont intend on spending most of the day inside.

Good place to drop your stuff and lock up for a day or night outand about, come back and crash out, rinse, repeat.

Shower runs a little warm.
Air conditioning is icey as you want it.

Everything else is pretty standard.
Not a true hotel, far from a hostel.

Close enough to underground but away from the noise of the city.

Would definately come back.

Had to book last minute as couldn't get to our previously booked hotel because tube lines were closed. Read reviews after booking and was concerned about the number of negative ones, but our room was amazing for the price.
Had to phone the day before as check-in instructions not received by then; said they would WhatsApp them by end of day, but had to call again and they came through immediately. Also got an email on the day, so maybe they dont send them until then.
We were allocated room 6 in the basement, but got a WhatsApp in the morning changing it to 18, first floor, because of maintenance issues. Access to the property and room was easy and explained with photos.
We were very happy with the room; clean, with bottled water, toiletries and even toothbrushes and toothpaste. The bathroom was spotless and looked to have been refitted relatively recently. Very smal amount of mould on the ceiling, but would expect that in a property of that age without a fan in the bathroom.
The hotel is well located for access by public transport and has shops and restaurants/takeaways nearby, plus the beautiful, peaceful and interesting Brompton Cemetery a few minutes walk away.
I had no problem contacting the hotel either by phone or WhatsApp; the people were always polite and helpful, but never saw anyone during our stay.
I would certainly consider using the Wembar again.

Check in was a bit of a nightmare. Your website showed the trip as paid (you had the card details). When I got to the hotel I had to call the support number. They told me that no payments had been taken and that apparently you had been trying to get in touch with me to pay cash on arrival. I had only received an email stating you hoped I would enjoy my stay! I sent them the screenshot of your site showing as paid but apparently if it is paid I would have had an email with codes to get into the hotel and my room. Luckily another lady was trying and failing to get in but was sent an email and allowed me to stay in her room while I sorted things out. I was unwilling to pay cash (and there was seemingly no one to pay it to), so I was sent a link to pay. Once paid I received the required email. This took over 20 minutes to resolve and more stress than I was expecting. Not sure I will use yoj again.

Creaky floor all night all we could hear was the people either side of us or people walking about above.
On arrive they couldn't find r booking and then charged us wrong amount
Once we checked in the manager came to r door and knocked to get us to tell us instead of calling us or catching us on the way out
This made us feel abit unsafe as we was 2 young girls staying in that room

Good area walkable and close by shops and restaurants nice and clean

Having read previous reviews I was pleasantly surprised however 2 hand towels for 2 people in a room with a shower is not really acceptable. No member of staff present therefore unable to request more milk sachets. Fortunately we took our own coffee. If there is no member of staff available it would be better to double up on the number of sachets provided, a potential problem rectified

Wash sink blocked, the rug look like it wasn’t vacuumed, so much dirt around the corners of the floor, cobwebs on the wall. I had all the basic amenities I needed just these things. I won’t recommend tho.

booked for Wednesday 19th turned up hotel was full and told I had booked for the 20th which is incorrect. requested a refund which has been refused. This was a very important business trip which was ruined. I will not be recommending or using Hotels.com again unless you can refund me for the two rooms booked and restore my confidence with hotels.com

Overall this experience/stay was disappointing and I did not feel as though the accommodation I received was equal to the amount I paid.

The positive:
- the location is very close to the Earl’s Court district/circle/picadilly line stop.
- everything I used (bathroom facilities/air conditioning) worked as intended.

The negative:
- the only time I saw anyone around the front desk was when I checked in, and at the time they were building furniture in the entryway. There were also a number of bags (possibly trash or other guest belongings) blocking parts of the entryway and aesthetically it wasn’t very welcoming. The gentleman I spoke to thought my reservation had been cancelled, but that was quickly resolved when he saw the communication I’d had with the hotel via the Expedia app.
- while the room wasn’t dirty, it clearly had marks/gouges in the carpeting and the walls, as well as cords everywhere. It felt like a college dorm rather than a hotel. The pictures looked much nicer.
- the bed was uncomfortable, and the frame was clearly cheap, creaked quite a bit, and I was worried it would break. I am not a small individual (200 lbs) and I worry someone larger would have issues.
- I did not feel safe in the room with a flimsy key/lock, and on my second night there, around 11PM, another guest (I think) attempted to unlock my door and enter. Again, no one was at the desk, and it was concerning that there was no one on hand for such moments.

TLDR: I would not stay here again

Not bad. Not great. But worth the low price.

Tiny room (not even two twin beds wide) but serviceable. You’re definitely in a neighborhood (hotel is a converted flat building). No lift if that matters to you. Close to plenty of food and easy access to the underground.

Do not be fooled by the pictures. The hotel is poorly maintained and unsafe. There is nobody at the desk if you need help. The rooms are tiny, dirty, smelled of smoke, broken fixtures, and broken TV. We checked in and left immediately for better accommodations. Our next door neighbors were some shady characters. Smoking, arguing, and slamming their doors. There is a lockbox where you retrieve your room keys and we noticed it was being tampered with. Very unnerving. You can hear everything through the thin walls. The owner wouldn’t even honor a refund after the complaints on the condition of the room. Don’t let this place ruin your trip.

From start to finish it was an excellent I check in was Fast and efficient with self-service entry and instructions on how to do this well given plenty of time in advance the room is efficient clean lovely and fresh and came with a Wi-Fi the Smart TV all storage it's own little bathroom with plenty of free toiletries and I'm literally couldn't have wanted anything else for more I willsay that if I get the chance I will stay a third time highly recommend

Booked a room in the Wembar hotel via Expedia; it was clearly mentioned we could check in from 3 to 11pm. They sent us an email with a link to pay in full at 8pm. We arrived at 9pm and they was no one, front door locked and no possibility to contact anyone as the phone number displayed was wrong. We would have slept in the street if a pizza guy didn’t come to deliver at this address and found someone who was working in one of the rooms who gave us a key! Long story short, the room was disgusting: sauce on the walls, chips on the floor and very noisy. Absolute disaster!!!!

Nice hotel! Would stay again!

Room was clean, hotel smelled nice and clean upon entry.
Check in and instructions to self entry was easy and quick to follow. Room smelled clean, beds were clean, bathroom clean. Beds were really comfy and we slept great. We were in the basement twin room, road was outside but wasn’t that loud and we slept great! Plenty of tea and coffee if we wanted it and appreciated the bottles of water and kit kats for us. Bathroom had skin lotion bottles but only thing we would change is suggest put in small shower gel and shampoo bottles instead. Bathroom and shower was all clean, and all worked great!

Location was great because we could tube out of earl’s court easy to our destinations.

Plenty of shops and food around the area also.

We would stay here again!
