Heating was not operational (it was a colder night). No hot water in our first room...they moved us to a different room. Almost zero water pressure in the second room. Staff was friendly enough but it feels like the property has been neglected. Great location.

So many issues I will list them individually.
1. Parked vehicle in ramp upon arrival - access phone at entry door does not reach anyone. You have to walk downstairs and walk through WIDE OPEN doors on the main level at 10 PM.
2. Room 316 smells from marijuana and cigarettes. This is a non-smoking room.
3. Bathroom is falling apart - faucet drips, faucet trickles out water when turned on, toilet seat is broken, shower takes 10 minutes for water to warm up
4. Room was extremely cold. Set thermostat to 81, never got over 70.
5. Closet door is broken, cannot open or close it
6. Cannot phone to front desk - have to walk back to lobby to talk to staff
7. Needed blankets and pillows for sofa bed - he had to leave front desk unattended to go to the 6th floor for where they store blankets and pillows.
8. No sign left for the few guests that arrived while he was retrieving the requested blankets
9. “Blankets” were two sheets and a flimsy layer, maybe a blanket if your internal temp is always hovering around inferno
10. Individuals loitering around the property. An actual security guard would go a long way.

In the end- I do not recommend. This wasn’t a bad day as the last time I stayed there a year ago had mechanical issues that clearly haven’t been resolved (no heat / last year it was no A/C)

I will never stay here again.

Booked for room with queen bed. Upon check in was told there were no such rooms available (even though I had booked and paid for such a room several weeks before). Had to take a room with two double beds. Check in staff said the fault lay with Expedia. Odd.

We asked to be moved from our first room because of no hot water and a tv that did not work efficiently. The fronts of doors and cabinets were marred and the bathroom door frame looked dirty at the bottom. Our next room looked somewhat better in these regards. Breakfast was tasty, and the server was sweet and cordial.

Parking was outrageously expensive.

We checked in, and our room was far less than average. No hot water, the shower didn't work, two lamps didn't work, lights in the bathroom were incredibly dim, the HVAC didn't work. The craziest part was that this was in an accessible room, and I hope they address the issues. We did not request or need an accessible room, but that was what they assigned us. We told staff about it and they weren't able to switch our room the first night (sold out for a concert), but we were able to switch the next day. The new room had no hot water, but everything else worked. When we checked out, no one asked how our stay was, probably because they were dealing with a lot of guests in similar situations, and the ceiling had a gaping hole with a huge leak and part of the walls and trim were coming off in the lobby. I'm sad that Hilton has attached their name to this hotel. I changed my reservation in Seattle from a Hilton to a Hyatt because of this. They will have to work to get me back.
I have already submitted feedback to DoubleTree and Hilton directly.

The room was 76 degrees. AC wouldn’t turn on. They told me that it was still out of season. They told me to crack a window and offered a fan. Didn’t help.

The water pressure in the bathroom sink was terrible, barely a trickle

The hot water in the shower did not work at all.

I had high hopes for this stay but was unfortunately disappointed from the start. I called ahead to check if our room was ready and was placed on hold for 10 minutes after being told to “hold on,” with no one ever returning to the line.

Upon arrival, several maintenance issues were immediately noticeable. The parking ramp was experiencing mechanical problems, the revolving front door was broken, and there was a significant leak in the ceiling just inside the entrance, with water actively dripping.

The overall service experience did not improve. We were not greeted or acknowledged upon arrival, and staffing appeared to be very limited throughout our stay, with only 1–3 employees managing the front desk during peak check-in times.

Cleanliness and upkeep were also concerns. The elevator floors were visibly worn and dirty, with crumbs present. Additionally, the hotel had not yet switched from heat to air conditioning, making the room uncomfortably hot. We had to open the windows just to make it tolerable.

There were a couple of positives: we were provided a warm cookie at check-in, and the staff did hold our luggage for us. However, a comment was made about us having “a lot of stuff,” which felt unnecessary given it was for four people.

Overall, the experience fell well below expectations, especially given the number of operational and service issues encountered.

Check in was awful! Truly terrible. Check in is late, 4:00 and they don’t text or anything if your room is ready early. They turned everyone away and told everyone to come back at 4 which lead to long lines and wait times. Digital keys don’t work on the elevator so those that had them, still had to stand in line for room keys There were only two check in clerks. When concert starts at 5, people were doing hair and make up in the small bathroom in the lobby. Parking is not good at the hotel either and it’s $30 a night if you find a spot. The ceiling in the lobby appeared to be falling down and baseboards were ripped off the walls. We won’t be staying here again. You’d think they would be used to large crowds but it was poorly handled last night.

Front desk staff was excellent! Helped with an early check in and offered a complimentary bottle of water. The room had an odor that wasn’t awful, but wasn’t pleasant. The toilet plunger situated between my room and the next was off putting to say the least. The toilet didn’t flush well, but did eventually flush which was a plus. The shower first sputtered as if the water had recently been shut off. This may seem silly, but the bath towels smelled like burnt caramel corn. Parking was convenient. Easy walk to the convention center.

the hotel should not even be booking guests right now as it is under renovation and we had to change rooms a few times because lacking amenities: broken fan. Smoke smelling room and water being shut off for a time with no communication or prior notification. Would not at all recommend this hotel. Poor experienced outside of the two female staff members I mentioned

Checked in and the toilet was backed up. Called front desk and they were only able to bring a plunger to the room. Half of the outlets didn’t work. I went to get ice and the ice bucket had moldy water sitting in it. I went to the front desk and the woman wasn’t much help. She told me I had to contact Hotels.com because I booked through them. She also told me I would get a new ice bucket brought to my room and I never received it. I’ve stayed at this property before and always enjoyed the stay, but after this last experience I will definitely not be returning.

unfortunately it was a stay to play hotel for the tournament we attended, but I will never stay there again. The hotel doesnt have AC, you have to open the windows, if you are from Florida you know that we cant live out AC. The hotel lobby's ceiling was falling off due to water damage. Just weird vibe.

We were in town for a volleyball tournament. When checking in, there were a lot of people, but only 1 person working the desk and he was also trying to train a new associate. This young man, curly black hair and mustache (I didn’t get his name) was the saving grace of this whole experience. He went over and above and was very professional with the checking in chaos. The major downside was there was no AC in the rooms. Each room was over 75 degrees with the hallways being extremely warmer than the room. Luckily the windows opened up a little bit.

I had a very uncomfortable stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Minneapolis Downtown. The room was excessively hot, and it felt like the heating system was constantly running with no way to cool it down. I was told there were limited fans available, which didn’t really solve the problem.

There was also a maintenance issue with the tub, which leaked very hot water continuously. This not only made the bathroom uncomfortable but seemed like a serious waste of water.

While the breakfast was decent, the overall experience was disappointing due to the room conditions and the level of customer service I encountered.

The room was clean. The fridge and microwave were nice to have. The cookies were a nice touch. The beds were not comfortable. I felt like I was at an angle and the mattress felt like it was on a board. We were there 4 nights and only had our trash taken and fresh towels once. I had to call multiple times to get towels and trash out. Our beds were never made. The restaurant/bar was closed most of our stay and when it was open, they did not have a cook and limited stock of beverages. Definitely opportunities for improvement.

Overnight staff was so rude , first did not even look up from his phone when we arrived. When we were showering and watching a movie and they called and told us if we keep making noise they were going to call the police and have us escorted out at 3AM, we were on the 8th floor and he said he could hear us from the lobby ? On top of that skink handle was broken, the shower was freezing on the hottest level, window was so dirty could barely see out of it. And when my car was in there parking lot, my trunk handle “weirdly” got broken so now I cannot open my trunk even tho upon arrival we had no issue. We were supposed to check out Sunday and left Saturday instead ! Staff could not even care why.We will never stay there again ! Never felt so uncomfortable somewhere in my life . I personally don’t recommend staying here ! :)

I was in town for a funeral. The staff and rooms were nice. The down side was the room my mother and grandmother was in had no hot water. They didn’t know that until they was getting dressed for the funeral. I did let the staff know when I was checking out and was told all they could do was offer me some points on my Hilton Honors because I booked through a third party. And I still haven’t received any points.

Staff was nice. Rooms are nice. Parking ramp attached to hotel. The door from the parking garage to the hotel has a buzzer that’s broken.l but you don’t know it. Just sit there buzzing forever. You have to walk around to the front and this is annoying to do with luggage when it’s -5 degrees outside. Staff said “yeah, it’s broken, sorry…” Should probably fix that especially when charging $30/night to park.

The thermostat was not working. The room remained cold no matter what temperature I set. Also the water did not get hot; it remained luke warm. The knob to switch from faucet to shower was broken too. The coffee maker was dirty and there was no replacement of coffee grounds or tea bags or paper cups even though I stayed for 3 nights.
The positive thing was that the room was very roomy and the bed was comfortable.

The room felt neglected such as tiny black fruit fly gnats flying around and there's no vegetable or food or garbage around but yet it's questionable why there's even any in there if it was cleaned. There's two spots in the wall behind the couch of the furniture when you walk in that has openings in the fixture of the wall which is questionable too. The water pressure in the bathroom wasn't the greatest using the sink, plus my card got hacked randomly out of nowhere after I used a free secured Wi-Fi connection, which is really making me questionably wondering why somebody from Florida would be able to go on the Wi-Fi that far out and hacked my card for using it to purchase dinner using doordash, I understand that the hotel is a cashless Hotel but the meal prices were a little bit High but the service downstairs in the bar was wonderful yesterday morning ordering breakfast when I was staying there and I definitely give her very high credit and respect for her professionalism and being super polite and kind. Plus nobody told me that parking was separate from being included in the booking process which almost caused me to go negative to my account. Veey overwhelmed. I spent a ton of money here suring the Twin Cities Con 2025 and it just really just makes me wonder why I booked here...

My stay was not great. There was no A/C and the rooms were extremely hot so I could not sleep. The rooms were not serviced and there were blood stains on the towels and on the curtains. There was no hot water in my shower until day 4 and the staff were not very helpful when the issues were raised

We booked through expedia... arrived to find our king suite was reduced to 2 full size beds. The room had what looked like sauce on the walls, floors, our toliet paper holder was missing:/ even when putting the air conditioner at 62 degrees there was barely any air coming out. Which lead to us sleeping in what felt like 75 degrees in the room both nights. The front desk staff was super nice but their were too many problems woth the room and when we complain they said we could wait until tommorow to get the king suite but we were only there for 2 nights and had no where to go if we didnt take the 2 fulls. Overall, actual place is nice but room cleaniness was bad and some things need to be updated.

My room had a bloody bandage stuck to bathroom wall. We had a large patch of what appeared to be black mold in the ceiling by the window. And to top it off I was locked in the bathroom due to a faulty door for over an hour. I have photos if needed as well.

I found the furniture dirty in the lobby which is the last place I would expect. Big picture the hotel looks great; but things like seeing dirt around the bathtub, and the vanity was disappointing.

This not the standard for a Hilton chain of hotels.

The dining area was the cleanest area in the hotel.

There isn't much parking and they need to mark that better. Staff was great. Hotels.com screwed up our booking. I booked a 2 queen suite and Hotels.com changed it to a king. Not the hotel's fault. They were very nice about it. The room was big and clean. We enjoyed our stay.

We had to change rooms when we got there as well as the first room wreaked of smoke. Unclear where to check in vs where to park. Staff hung up on us twice while asking for help. At checkin staff was dismissive and rude. The bed didn’t have a blanket on it upon arrival; had to request it 3 times before getting a blanket 90 minutes later. Housekeeping brought us items we didn’t request.

It was a convenient location to restaurants but overall the experience was negative.

The property is getting dated. None of the ice machines were working. In my room the carpet in the sink area was saturated with water not sure where it was coming from, we had to change rooms. Staff were helpfu but, not espcially friendly. Hilton should NOT write this property off. Its a convenient location for anything downtown. Great parking lot attached to the hotel. Housekeeping was generally good. Im a little annoyed that the DT Downtown isn't being maintained better.

Staff was not welcoming at all, I had complimentary water and cookies thrown at me across the front desk upon arrival. When I attempted to make a complaint about the aforementioned staff member a different staff member told me, “I didn’t think she was mean, she gave you free water and cookies” (which are complimentary at all double tree locations). I witnessed a man on a bicycle being hit by a car on the intersection of Lasalle Ave and 11th st where the hotel is located. Sunday 8-17 I was left waiting inside of the hotel restaurant for 20 min after my order was placed only to then find out the chef was not even present or on the premises. Worst experience at a double tree I have ever had.

Beds were awesome firm pillows and soft sheets. Interior looked newly remodeled and very clean. Front desk friendly and helpful. 15min walk to sporting venues and First Ave. Parking ramp attached to hotel and come and go for $30 parking was nice. Front entrance was a tight fit so expect to walk with luggage from parking ramp down to corner entrance door thru rmap gates. Breakfast is made to order for $17+. Have to use your room key to use elevators. A nice added safety feature. Breakfast is 6-9 and Cafe 57 restruant is from 5 to 10p. Didnt eat at either so cant speak for them but they are pricey. $15 burger or $25 fish. Room has tall mini fridge and a microwave. Rooms were very quiet. Highly recommend this place.

The front desk lady clearly hated her job, she wasnt "unfriendly" per se, but she definitely didnt hide that she did not want to be there. There were papers haphazardly pioed on the front desk that she basically annoyedly shoved back & forth into one of 2 piles. The parking tag she gave us didn't work to escape the parking ramp either, luckily we already got one when we entered the ramp upon arrival and it cost the same anyway. ($32 to park overnight!). The parking ramp area smelled like weed constantly. Wouldnt care, but the common denominator was seeing the front desk lady sitting in a car in the ramp every time the smell was bad- no wonder she didn't want to be there. Parking ramp is also very tight for anything larger than a small SUV. The warm cookies on check in is a nice touch. Room appeared clean, aside from some weird stains on a pillow case. Toilet in the room was clogged. We came back in late, so its not anything we had addressed. Its a nice place, but you can tell theres been a lack of attention to detail recently...small things. Theres a reason its on the cheaper end of things, but not terribly by any means. Bed was comfy.

I checked into this hotel on 8/5. Upon getting to the room, it was extremely HOT, even though the A/C was set to 74. I immediately turned it down and there was a slight change but the AC NEVER turned off during my entire stay due to the room temperature not meeting the desired reading I set on the thermometer.

The bathroom was filthy. There was stoned hand print on railings of toilets, tubs, and sink. There was substance marks in the walls.

I did not complain to staff as I was not in my room for long periods due to be out for my conference. THat being said I will NOT stay here again and do not recommend it.

The staff there were not super friendly, the AC in the room was not cold, carpet was dirty - overall the hotel was ok but definitely in need of some upgrades. There was one staff member, maybe a manager who was super friendly and nice but I neglected to get her name - she was blond, maybe 5’4”

Could not get the room to cool down at night. The bed was very hard. The pillows were way too soft. The bathroom was so small that you either had to go to the bathroom with the door open. I’ll go to the bathroom with it completely closed the roof smelled There were no trash cans but one of the bathroom. The food in the dining room is very limited these chairs and boost sync when you sat, but all the staff was very fun.

Our room was not ready at 4:20 so we had to wait. Then there system went down so we waited some more! Then when the system did come up they started giving the new people coming in the rooms, and we were still waiting. I final ask about our room and they gave me my key. Total wait time was a little over an hour and would have been longer had I not asked about our room.

My family and I just checked out of this hotel yesterday morning. We were in town for our family reunion. I WILL NEVER STAY at this place again. The only reason I've giving 2 Stars, is because the ladies working on Thursday, July 24th after 3pm were so polite!!! Checking in was ok-- the crazy $250 hold was crazy. Second of all we checked in around 2pm-ish and got to our room, called down to the front desk a little after 3pm to ask for 2 extra big and small towels, pillows, sheets and blankets for the pull-out sofa, we didn't receive any service until after 7pm. After about an hour of waiting, I did go downstairs to the front desk to just grab them, thinking maybe they were just busy and I didn't mind just carrying them to back to my room. Got downstairs and the receptionist was very very nice and informed me that she could give me the towels, however, they do not have access to the pillows, blankets or sheets. I said, "oooookkkkk and I guess we'll wait." Mind you we can't use the sofa without beddings (I have small children with me). Next issue, EVERY FREAKING ICE MACHINE ON EVERY FLOOR DOES NOT WORK! My 5 yr old and I literally went to every floor...and nothing! Finally went back downstairs and asked, "Why are all the ice machines not working?" No reason given, but I was then told that there is a bar and they can give me ice. Ok cool, got my ice.

Parking is $30 for no apparent reason! We're from out of town so we don't the downtown situation. No parking security whatsoever.

Disappointing Stay – Not Up to DoubleTree Standards

I was extremely disappointed with my recent stay at the DoubleTree Hotel in downtown Minnesota. The hotel was noticeably dirty and outdated, far from what I’ve come to expect from the DoubleTree brand. The room had a strong mildew smell upon entering, and the furniture appeared stained and poorly maintained.

The bathroom was particularly frustrating. The sink was stopped up and drained slowly, and the hot water didn’t work at all during my stay. This made basic hygiene uncomfortable and inconvenient.

While the staff were friendly and tried to be helpful, it was clear they were overwhelmed and possibly understaffed, which only added to the frustration.

Overall, this property is in serious need of renovation and better maintenance. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this location and will not be returning.

Parking was 30$/day which wasn't listed, was a surprise. Their parking pass didn't work on the scanner and I had to go to the front desk(from parking lot) to get a new pass once as their support call didn't work. Received a breakfast coupon for 2 while we were 3 members. The server had to go and confirm with the front desk.

This place was terrible. We were given keys to a dirty room (pizza boxes and un-made bed) and the A/C was out. Staff blamed management, which seems like the real problem.

Find a different hotel. There are many choices nearby and this one isn’t worth your buck.

Was so uncomfortable and got hardly any sleep.

Ruined my next day 100% and took a couple days to get back to a normal sleep pattern.
