2 nights $700 for that price you can book the hotel 3 buildings away and they have a rooftop pool… and on top $80 for parking… poor… advertises “city views” but it like 2 buildings… wouldn’t do it again I’ll say that much

Marriott does a good job of maintaining Rand Tower. Staying in the room, it’s a modern comfortable hotel stay. Going through the building, it’s a very well maintained historic charm. I have no complaints from my first stay at Rand Tower.

The hotel is very beautiful and clean. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and felt luxurious. I really enjoyed the cozy bathrobes that were in our room for lounging, while taking in the view from our spectacular corner room. Before we arrived we were a little concerned about the parking garage that was separate from the hotel, but although we needed to pay $40 for one night, the garage felt very safe and was within a short walking distance from the hotel.

This is a beautiful hotel with great amenities and a convenient location within walking distance of US Bank Stadium, but our experience was disappointing. We arrived at 4:00 pm, waited in a long line, and were told our rooms weren’t ready due to a cleaning staff shortage. We had a 5:15 pm concert and were initially told the wait would be about 15 minutes.

While waiting, I parked in the attached ramp but couldn’t re-enter without a key, forcing me to go back outside in the rain—something that could have been avoided with better communication. After another 30 minutes and a second time in line, we were told the rooms were still unavailable with no estimated time.

With no guidance, we changed in the lobby bathroom, stored our luggage, and left for the concert at 5:30 pm without rooms. When we returned around midnight, our rooms were finally ready. I asked about compensation but was told none could be provided due to booking through a third party. After pushing, we received one $18 breakfast voucher per room, which didn’t cover everyone.

Although the hotel is nice, the poor communication and lack of accountability made for a frustrating experience. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it.

We were unable to check in to our room before an event in the evening (way after the check in time) because there weren't any rooms cleaned. After repeated attempts to check in, we had to resort to dressing and getting ready in the lobby bathroom. For compensation we were only given a single breakfast ticket for the room. Multiple people were getting ready in the same lobby bathroom as there was a lot of people who ran into the same issue.
When asked where to park in the meantime, we were directed to the parking garage but weren't told you'd need a key to enter through the hotel, which we didn't have yet because we weren't able to check in until after our event. Leaving us walking outside to get into the hotel in the rain.

The cushion on the bed was dirty. There seemed to be a lot of dust in the room.
We went to the bar in the hotel but the service there was terrible and overpriced. The tonic water with lime came with no lime nor ice just in the same small glass as the water and it was tasteless. I asked for another and it was the same presentation and they charged $5x2.
No Kombucha available because that was a cafe menu…? The room was beautiful aside from the cleanliness.

The radiator made a humming noise that registered at 40 dB. All night. The toilet tank sometimes filled and sometimes did not. So flushing was always a coin flip. There was no body wash in the shower. Shampoo, conditioner, and an empty latch. I ordered wings in the bar at like 9:00. I was one of four people there and as far as I could tell the only one eating and it took 45 minutes to get the appetizer.

It’s a super cool building though.

When me and my pregnant wife showed up we found out that the front desk guy gave our room away to a guy who’s name sounds like mine without checking the person’s id (it wasn’t even close smh) I went from picking a amazing view on the 18th floor to a normal room on the 14th .. I pick the room weeks before and it wasn’t taken seriously tbh .. I was told they’d just move me (really upset my lady at the time) made me pay another $100 in case of any damage ( which they made sure to make that charge with an ID) — now I’m getting this guys bill sent to my email for the MY room. I’m sure I’ll have to call and get this changed. I wasn’t giving anything as far as a refund or price drop for this happening. Really ruined my stay for the most part because I chose my room for the view of the city and it was like a joke of a view for the same price. I wished there was someone to email or contact me about this issue, if so I’d love to share my story

My friend was taking pictures of me as we waited for our uber to pick us up , when I was asked to leave the hotel for taking pictures! We told them we were staying there and what room we were in . He went to the desk and came back over asking for my key to my room . These were not professional pictures. I will never stay there again .

I had such a wonderful and cozy stay at the Rand Tower hotel in downtown Minneapolis! From the moment I checked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful, which really set the tone for the whole visit. The room was spotless, modern, and comfortable, with great attention to detail. I especially loved how quiet and relaxing it was, even though it’s right in the heart of the city. The location is truly unbeatable—walking distance to great restaurants and shops, and only about a 12 minute walk to US Bank Stadium. The amenities were excellent as well, and the staff at the Rufus/Blondette were incredible. I loved that they cleaned the room and brought a fresh set of towels/amenities while I was out! Overall, it was a great experience, and I would absolutely stay here again on my next trip to Minny!

It started get warm that 2 hours later it was back freezing in the room temperature was set to 90. I wanted to extend my stay but I can’t bare to stay another night in the cold

Pardon the pun, but there’s a lot to “unpack” here.

First, the room was not up to par. Only a single light operated in the room. The bathroom light worked fine but the main room was ridiculous. The hvac unit sounded like a small jet taking off. Finally, there was no hot water. In a Minneapolis hotel during December, the hot water was nonexistent. The television didn’t work for the first 3 hours we were there and required as maitenance person to come to my room to explain their service wasn’t working.

Secondly, the front counter couldn’t have been more curt or unfriendly. They weren’t helpful in the least. We checked our bags to attend an event and upon our return, they couldn’t locate our bags. Initially, they gave us someone else’s bags. When I complained that the tickets didn’t even match, the “Manager” opened the room and had me dig through to find our two backpacks.

Since I booked through Hotels.com, there was no sense in asking for any credit for the poor room as they wouldn’t even take my Bonvoy number since we used a third party.

This was a completely unacceptable experience and the room conditions as well as the service deficiencies need to be addressed. I would not only not recommend this location, I would go the extra mile to stop anyone I know from utilizing this Marriott location.
