Comfy beds, clean rooms with no smell. Great city views. Parking was confusing as signs were not helpful and paint/stickers chipping away so it was hard to tell how to get to where you needed to be. I’d probably take advantage of valet next time to avoid walking aimlessly.

Wow! The staff was incredible!! There was an issue with the keycard entry on our door which meant we needed to change rooms. It could have been frustrating and put a damper on the weekend but the staff went well out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Anita, Samson, Carla and Darin were incredibly kind, helpful and welcoming. It was a very refreshing change from customer service these days!

Our room was clean, comfortable, and the amenities were great! My kids loved the pool and the full-sized indoor basketball court! What a hit! We will definitely be staying here again. Thanks, Hyatt staff!

Our flight was canceled, leaving us unexpectedly stranded in Minneapolis overnight. After searching for highly rated hotels in the area, we chose the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, and in several ways it was the right decision. The staff were truly exceptional. While we were still en route, the front desk manager was texting with me to answer questions about dining options, which was incredibly reassuring after a long and stressful travel day. Upon arrival, that same manager promptly checked us in and went above and beyond by providing every toiletry they had available, as the airline did not return my luggage and I had nothing but my purse. Their empathy and professionalism made a frustrating situation much easier to handle. The room itself was decent—though I’m not convinced it truly qualified as a “suite”—but it was spacious, which I appreciated after spending the entire day in airports. The bathroom was a highlight, with an excellent shower and very nice overall accommodations. The bed was comfortable, though the pillows were too soft for my preference. Unfortunately, the hotel restaurant was a major disappointment. The on-site menu was entirely different from what was advertised online, something I only realized once the food arrived in my room. The offerings were extremely limited and consisted of pre-prepared meals that felt comparable to cafeteria food. Despite including a well-poured glass of wine, the to the total with tip came to $100, which felt completely unjustified

The entire hotel was cold. Engineer said they were “working on it”, but 24 hours later I didn’t notice appreciable change. Now, this occurred on coldest weekend of the year, but even out of the lobby the conference areas were so cold guests were wearing their winter jackets. The room itself was just fine. The walk through market area was very overpriced - $4 for a candy bar.

Clean- comfortable- very nice. Self park in adjacent parking garage for $30-37 per day depending on in/out. Mentioning this because I had missed this thinking only valet. People are helpful. Lobby has great area to hang out in front of the fireplace. Location felt safe.

The room was excellent, clean, and quiet. The service in the lobby was good, but I didn't receive enough information about the parking, how to access it, or what breakfast and dinner options were available. I had to ask many questions to find out exactly what was needed. It seems the employees only say what's necessary. In other hotels, I receive more information, especially in a city I'm unfamiliar with.

Everything about the stay was good, clean room, housekeeping staff was very friendly. Only complaint is there are no mirrors outside of the bathroom, which is kind of nice, so someone can get ready if the shower is being used.

The hotel room, valet and hotel staff were amazing, as always! However, the restaurant hours and staff were lacking. We sat in an empty restaurant for 8 minutes, servers seeing us, standing around, changing tv channels, and didn’t get served. The hotel provided coupons for the poor service, but we dined elsewhere during our stay.

This hotel is more suitable for business travelers however my toddler enjoyed our stay as they upgraded us to a suite with a beautiful view of the city, I took one star away because I thought it was really ridiculous to have to pay for parking at a hotel, and to not include a continental breakfast but overall I’m very pleased staff is very friendly and there’s a Starbucks in the lobby too!

I thought I was being a responsible traveler. I prepaid my room on Expedia, even called Hyatt Place Downtown earlier in the day to confirm a late check-in. They reassured me, “Don’t worry, sir, your room is prepaid, you’ll be fine.” Famous last words.
Fast-forward to 1:20 AM. After a long day of flights and delays, I drag myself from the airport to the hotel… only to be told, “Sorry, we’re sold out.” Sold out? But I literally paid you already. Apparently, my “guaranteed” room was double-sold, and my only option was to be “Lifted” to a sister property 40 minutes away. Not comparable. Not downtown. Not where I needed to be. At 1:30 in the morning, this isn’t just inconvenient - it’s unacceptable.
Here’s the kicker: had Hyatt bothered to tell me before I arrived, I could’ve saved myself two hours of running around - gone directly to that other property or found something else. But no, I had to first get to Hyatt, be told my room vanished, and then scramble to find an alternative.
And because I arrived technically on the “next day,” none of the booking platforms would let me check in same-night. Expedia, Hotels.com - all showing tomorrow’s check-in. I was basically stranded downtown at 2 AM with no hotel. Imagine someone older, handicapped, or not tech-savvy in this same spot - that’s not just stressful, that’s dangerous.
Thankfully, Tru Hilton Downtown saved the night. The lady on the phone there was shocked Hyatt would behave this way and kindly found me a room.

They charge a $75 incidental fee that takes 7-10 days to get a credit, so you have to keep checking your credit card for the credit. This should be noted before you make the reservation.

The room was not what I expected. We looked out onto a plaster wall and it smelled like chlorine. Should not have paid $300 per night for such a prison-like room. Very disappointed for our first trip to Minneapolis.

The property is fine…we just made the mistake of walking around the hotel/downtown.

A homeless guy followed me for more than a block, my family of four walked through a marijuana cloud and my eight year son said he was scared as we walked back from dinner.

I don’t see this as a Hyatt issue. It’s a downtown Minneapolis issue.

First of all, I've been to this hotel four times, and each time it gets worse.
I'll start by saying that my reservation was made through Expedia. It was a huge problem at check-in because the receptionist isn't very knowledgeable, and when I spoke to her boss, it got worse because she wanted to double-charge me the money they take for any inconvenience.
Plus, parking gets more expensive every day because they charge you for every entry and exit, which is terrible since it's under construction and it was quite overwhelming to park my truck.
We always stay at this hotel because my children and their friends, who came with us this time, love to play basketball, and having a court available is great. But this court is getting more neglected, dirty, and hotter every day (we asked for the air conditioning to be turned on, and the manager said no, because it could affect other guests. Which guests? That area is the loneliest and most dangerous in the entire hotel).
When we got to the room and wanted to take a shower, it turned out the tub started to flood, and we had to wait almost 40 minutes before the others could shower. The tub was full of mold and rusty things. It was obvious they haven't given it the necessary maintenance. In the end, they fixed it.
Breakfast is not included, and going to the buffet was the most unpleasant and expensive thing I've ever paid for, since it was a simple continental breakfast, which is included in any hotel. I will never book at this hotel again.

Not a good start, parking structure under construction so that was a little tricky; no clear signs of a skywalk or elevator. We booked a city view room. When we arrived into our room, it was a pool view room with no windows and major chlorine smell. Had to go back down to switch rooms. Our city view room was great. Great view of the city. There were six elevators and it seemed like there was only one working at a time. So there were multiple stops on each elevator ride.
Great location though. Great restaurants and parks all within walking distance. Didn’t have time to swim, but the pool looked nice. I would stay here again.

Dry much showing its age. Items in room broken and taped together. Windows have not been cleaned in years. Surrounding area is not the best to be around at night if alone, which goes for most of Minneapolis. This comes from people I talked to who live there. It’s not Denver or San Diego bad but it’s getting there!

The walls a very thin. The room next to us had loud music playing until after 4am. I contacted the desk twice and security stopped by their room but they just continued the music after security left. The front desk barely mumbled a “sorry about that…” as I was leaving. Parking is astronomical. Absolutely insane to pay $30/ night for a hotel you are staying at. The restaurant inside is pricey. There are few alternatives in the area and it doesn’t feel safe to walk around, especially after dark. Inside the hotel is like a maze. Many rooms are quite far from the elevators. The guest elevators take a LONG time to come. When leaving, we probably waited 10 minutes before we made it downstairs. The first 2 elevators were too full to get on. Despite having 5 elevators in the bank, they are very slow. The only reason I stayed here is because the Sheraton across the street isn’t open yet. I hope to never have to return to this hotel.

I got double charged for incidentals.
I got double charged for valet - they did refund the second day.
Check in at 3 pm - room wasn’t ready until 530
I ordered the vip suite. Pictures in Expedia are misleading. This isn’t one giant room. It’s two completely separate rooms that takes two different keys.
Only reason I may think about coming back is the full court basketball court.
Super bummer.
