The property was beautiful. The river view and the way the old building had been restored using the old and new.

Our stay was short but enjoyable.

Where do I begin? This became my favorite Minneapolis hotel. I wish I could have spent more time in the room, but it was a quick visit. Everyone on the staff was fantastic, helpful and polite. Room was clean, bedding was out of this world. Location was in a nice, quiet area. An older building, so don’t expect glitz and glamor. But if you want the feel of a nice, quaint hotel, then this is up your alley. There’s parking, which can’t be said of a lot of other city hotels. Best night of sleep I’ve had in a long time.

The only issue I had was the Wi-Fi didn’t work for me, but I didn’t need it because I was gone for most of the evening. The price point worked for me and I want to come back here.

This place put me in a great mood and I was able to keep it for my drive home. Thank you so much.

Nicollet Island Inn is an excellent place to relax and forget about the busy bustling city outside. View was amazing, even in the winter. The bar was quaint and elegant. And having an actual key was the perfect cherry on top

The check in was smooth. The room was beautiful and brought you back to an earlier time with how it was furnished. The bartender at Nics was awesome. Breakfast was great and the service excellent.

The lotion and soap smelled great and you do not need to bring shampoo, conditioner or body wash as they are in dispenser in the shower. And they smelled awesome as well.

The only complaint on the property is that the pillows are a little hard.

A very quiet and classy old school hotel -- décor, furniture, carpeting, halls, walls, decorating, and front desk area felt comforting and welcoming. Same with the bar and restaurant - the bartender, I swear, had a vest and his name was probably Jeeves. The hotel, remarkably in the middle of the city, on an island in the Mississippi between Northeast and the city skyline, feels like a country house - flowers, the river flowing on both sides, trees and vines, several dining and night spots just across the little bridge and up the hill. Something out of the past.

Your Standards have slipped!

Room: sheets w/holes/rip, only 1 standard pillow w/5 others for decor, poor night’s sleep, sad; Food: dinner was delicious, but served less than warm, sad; breakfast was very good; same server for both meals - very good! Personnel: helpful/ very good. Overall, not up to expectations, based on past stays. Overall: we’ll opt for the St.Paul Hotel for next visit.

Corner room was nice, but closet was locked, so could not hang up clothing nor access hair dryer. We thought the door was an entry to room next door, consequently was locked to prevent entry. Only when we asked for a hair dryer did we discover the luggage stand and area to hang clothes. Much nicer to not have to crawl around on the floor to get into suitcases.

Historical with Fabulous Service and Great Eats

The service here is fabulous. The housekeeping is okay but could use a few tweaks to be better. There were dust bunnies in the corners, and the bed was made on the sloppy side, sheets not tucked in all the way and the comforter twisted and rumpled between the footboard and the mattress. The room and bed were quite comfortable though. The room was nicely decorated, giving it a historical and boutique feel that was fitting for the history of the building. The bathroom was in need of updating but not so bad it was uncomfortable to use, and the windows needed replacing (There looked to be close to the originals if not the originals. The restaurant is pricey but outstanding and worth trying. The wifi would kick me offline every 30 minutes or so, so that was the most frustrating thing, but I was in and out so much that I didn't ask about it. While the hotel could use some updating and more attention to detail when cleaning, I would stay here again. The city is giving new life to the area, and there is a nice park to walk along the river.

Great for walking & sight seeing

Unique location on an island on the Mississippi that's within walking distance of restaurants on St. Anthony Main, Stone Arch Bridge, Mill City Museum, and the Guthrie Theater (plus half a mile from Whole Foods). Hotel service was good, but I had to pay for the room on arrival (they said they couldn't run the card I used to book with hotels.com).

Needs some updating

We’ve loved staying here in the past, for it’s charm and location on the river, convenient to downtown. Paid a bit more this time for a “river view” room, but found it to be more of a “parking lot view.” Lighting is dim - even bedside lamps required holding the page right under the lamp for our senior (but not abnormal) eyes to read. Bed & linens OK, nothing special. Only 1 luggage rack in room. Bathroom light switch missing its cover. Shower plenty hot, but pressure a tad low, and shower door was awkward for access to shower faucet. Staff pleasant. They couldn’t find the 2d key for our room. Dining room pleasant but overpriced for pretty ordinary food. We probably won’t stay here again as it’s not great value for the price.

Have stayed here several times, enjoy the ambiance and quiet along the river but in middle of great metropolis. Food and service are consistently fantastic. It’s an older inn so some things need attention in the rooms, but we brought them to manager’s attention with no problem. They want to make things right. Highly recommend it if you enjoy this type of place!
