Where do I start. This room was terrible. The pictures on Expedia regarding this hotel is a terrible misrepresentation of how it REALLY IS. The room was DIRTY, bugs, toilet paper wasn’t even on the roll but over the toilet and almost gone. Lights had no covers and exposed. The lock on the inside of the door had exposed wires. Cockroach in the toilet. The shower was TERRIBLE!!!!!! DONT STAY HERE. I HONESTLY SHOULD GET MY MONEY BACK. Plus the room reeked of cigarette and weed. How embarrassing it is for the hotel to be called a Whyndum. The ceo wouldn’t ever stay at this hotel.

As soon as we walked in the room smelled horrible, you could tell the floor wasn’t vacuumed, there was a bunch of trash on the floor. We didn’t even bother speaking to the manager as we figured all the other rooms would be the same. We didn’t even bother staying and ended up staying somewhere else. Nothing like the pics on the website.

Not like the pictures. Definitely not worth the price.
The carpet was sticky, the chair was full of cigarette burns, the room smelled like smoke. The lights did not have shades or covers on them, the pillows were stained and not in protectors, the mattress protector was stained with clean sheets on top. The sink had been painted, but had since cracked and flaked. The shower did not appear to be cleaned, there was the last people's soap wrapper in the shower curtain rings. The bathroom door looked like it had only ever been touched with black greasy hands. The door was almost totally off the hinges. You had to push the door into the hinge and then try to shut the door, which it wouldn't fully shut. We had driven for 24 hrs prior to arrival, so the staff was very nice in letting us check in early, but definitely told us that his head housekeeper would be upset. ....we felt we were given the 'per hour' room...
When we checked in, there was a text that came through asking how our check in went and how staff could help us settle in further. All of these concerns were outlined then. We slept on our car blankets on top of the bed spreads because we were so exhausted, but when we spoke to the front desk about our concerns, he said he had no idea where that text came from and still charged us for one night.

Dont let the pics fool you. Its not a nice place.

I couldnt even stay. We were given one room and the door handle was broken. The second room had no hot water and the mattresses were filthy. There were kids (young kids) running around the property cussing and being very loud. We returned the key and left. Don't trust the pictures, I would not recommend anyone staying at this hotel.

I was extremely disappointed with the condition of the room we were given. As soon as we walked in, it was obvious it had not been properly cleaned—if at all.

The beds had visible stains of poop or vomit on the sheets and mattress, and the bedding looked used and unwashed. The floors were dirty and covered with trash, including towels, food debris, and random items left behind. The furniture and surfaces were cluttered and clearly not wiped down.

In the bathroom area, the sink and counter were unclean, with trash left underneath and on top. Even the mirror was visibly dirty. Overall, the entire room gave the impression that it had been completely neglected.

This was not just a minor cleanliness issue—it was unacceptable and unsanitary. We did not feel comfortable staying in the room at all and had no choice but to leave and find another place to stay after already traveling a long distance.

I would not recommend staying here unless major improvements are made to their cleaning and inspection standards.

It was absolutely disgusting.. blood on the side of bed.. holes in the walls, homeless you have to stepover to get us the stairs, sink falling out of the counter.. no toilet paper, phone number posted is wrong.. pool is disgusting and hasnt been used in years. Cement around it is broken, trash filled the empty pool.. booked 2 night's, only stayed one.. they said they checked us out. They did not and we were still charged the extra day. We were very disappointed for it being a Wyndham property it was very dirty. We had to be switched from rooms twice. Our first room had lamp cord torn, so there was no light and one of the beds was undone. Second room had front door handle broken and toilet clogged with feces still in the toilet..our 3rd room smelled a lot like cigarettes, restroom door did not close and the walls and floor were extremely dirty..we were already running late to our event..didn't have time to get switched yet again..our traveling bags still smelled like cigarette when we got home. We didn't even want to try the breakfast due to how everything else looked. Not worth the price at all.

Light between beds was missing a bulb and the bulb that was there was burned out. Strong drug smell coming from conjoining room overnight. Should be ashamed to charge $200 for a night, room was not worth $20.

The condition of the property is uninhabitable. There were holes in the walls of our room. Electrical outlets hanging out of the walls. The pool had a septic oder coming from the holes in the black tarp covering it. I dont even have to mention the cleanliness...disgusting. We didn't chance putting out bags down. We immediately booked any other hotel we could get on a sold out night of George Straight. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!

Checked into the first room, the beds look like someone just got out of them no towels crumbs everywhere toilet was full not flushed. The second room had towels but you would not take a shower in there cockroaches were everywhere. The rooms are severely outdated and run down. I booked a room in advance. The description of the room was appealing. When I entered late in the evening nobody was at the desk. I knocked on the desk and spoke but there was no reply. I spoke a little louder, still no reply. So I shouted but still no reply. Then a hotel employee appeared and complained that I should not be shouting.

I signed in and went to the room. It had a disgusting smell, really nasty. There was a commercial fan on the floor that appeared to be designed to sit on the floor which had no apparent beneficial effect. The amenities listed on the website were not present. No TV, no coffee maker, no iron, no safe, no hairdryer, no refrigerator. There was a cigarette butt in the toilet bowl. The toilet flushed just fine but the water ran continuously. Some of the rooms appeared to have permanent residents. I went back to the desk and asked if another room might be available that was in better condition. I was told “No, they are all the same.”

The description on the website might have been accurate 20 or 30 years ago, but the current conditions do not match what is listed.

The clerk gave me paperwork to request a refund. I have not acted on this yet.

Expedia should not list this property and should not take reservations.

I called about 15 hotels in the downtown area and they were all booked solid. I ended up staying at a hotel with a bad reputation that was just barely adequate but was a major improvement over the Baymont.

I’ve stayed in a LOT of places, and this one takes the cake… the FIRST room they put me in had a clogged sink, dirty rags on the counter, no lampshade, just a bare bulb, and TRASH on the floor… went to the front desk, and requested a room change… SECOND room they attempted to put me in, I could not access- the locks didn’t work and the entire keyhole/ peephole was MISSING so there was a literal HOLE in the door… went back to the front desk, and got a THIRD room, right beside the second room… this one had NO WORKING ELECTRIC- NO LIGHTS IN THE BATHROOM, NO SHOWER CURTAIN, TV HANGING OFF THE WALL, DIRT ALL OVER THE FLOOR, AND BROKEN LOCKS!!! I went back to the front desk and turned in the key cards, there was NO WAY I FELT SAFE STAYING HERE and went to another CLEAN, SAFE hotel and THEY ARE REFUSING TO REFUND ME!!! I took picture evidence of all of this, and will be following up!!!

This property deserves ZERO stars, but that’s not an option. The first room reeked of smoke, the second reeked of urine. The bathtubs and sinks were dirty, the hairdryer had black oil on the handle and didn’t work, there were exposed wires, literal dirt and pet hair all over the floor and furniture. Every front door to the rooms looked like multiple break-in attempts had occurred. Here’s the best part, the manager immediately accepted that the place was disgusting and told me he did not charge me and to follow-up with Expedia. He printed an invoice showing $0 balance. That invoice was a scam, even printed with a future date to make it look like I stayed longer than the 10 minutes it took me to determine the place was disgusting. Expedia is saying the property did not refund me, and there is nothing they can do. This property is a complete scam. DO NOT pay for a room here!!!

Room was awful- absolutely nothing like the photos. I don’t think the room had been cleaned in months- so much pet hair in the carpet- it was a layer! Room was in such disrepair that it should not be used until repairs are made! Breakfast was coffee, oh or apple juice, cold cereal, 5 apples 1 package of plain oatmeal and a tray of day old mini muffins. There were hardly any cars in the lost so I am not sure why they said they could only put us in a first floor room at the very back of the property (parking in the ‘alley’ 🙄) stay somewhere else!

Main problem was heating. Had to change rooms twice due to no heat. While talking to the frond desk I was told they have no maintenance personnel and when things break they just stay broke.

None of the three rooms had towels, front desk also did not have towels.

The hair dryer in one room was broke in half with the heating elements hanging loose. The GFCI outlet it was still plugged in to was full of caulk so that the safety switches were no longer functional. Then, in case this fire trap started a fire, half of the smoke alarm was removed.

The shower surrounds and bathroom sinks in all the rooms were separated from the walls and countertop. No towels or hot water, was not able to test out shower.

This is absolutely the worst hotel room I've ever stayed in. It's old yes - but it's obvious management did not care what the property or the room looked like. Carpets had huge tears in it, bedspread and curtains had holes in them, towels and sheet were stained (so hopefully they were at least clean. Bathtub was stained and had bathtub rings, bathroom vanity was separating from the wall, closet was missing closet rod and supports (obviously no hangers) and to top it off - no hot water for bath. Sink was clogged and I saw a roach at night in the bathroom - but the room was so disgusting that was not surprising. I can't believe Wyndham allows this property to use it's name.

The room had holes in the walls, the doors and carpet. The bed had a single sheet on it — no blanket or duvet of any kind. The bathroom had one single towel in it, which did not look clean whatsoever. There was no trash bin in the room. There was no secondary dead lock on the outside facing door, and the electronic car system on the door was busted open on the inside. There was tissue stuffed into the peephole in the door as well. Directly outside the room were homeless people milling about, and when I went down to the car one was staring and swearing at me at a 20ft distance, thankfully, but this was still extremely unsettling. This was without a doubt the worst hotel room and area I have ever had the displeasure to be in. My girlfriend and I left without staying the night and had to book a hotel elsewhere. We are avid travellers and have stayed and Baymonts in the past with good experiences, but after this one we likely will not be staying at any Baymont hotel ever again.

The Baymont by Wyndham Lubbock is unacceptable for the following reasons:
The room we were given was absolutely disgusting.
There were german roaches on the walls! There was a roach on the wall above the tv. There was another roach on the wall above the headboard of the 2nd bed.
The bathroom was disgusting.
There were 2 german roaches in the bathroom. One was on the wall, and one was on the floor.
There were black stains around the sink, and the toilet/shower area was discolored brown instead of white.
The door to the room was severely damaged.
There were huge dents on the door area where the locks connect to the door frame. I was definitely concerned that the homeless man outside our door, standing in the parking lot, would be able to break into the room.
Immediately, after surveying the room I returned to the front desk and told the man (working the night shift) that the room had roaches on the walls and we would not be able to stay in the room. He didn't seem surprised at all.

Ive been to a lot of bad hotels in my lifetime. But this one takes the cake. 1 of 2 beds were made when we walked in. Blood and boogers on the wall,roaches, our pillows were urine yellow,inside of toilet was moldy and no hot running water. The desk guy offered a other room but that one was even worst with added male fluids in their chair cushions. Go to the free breakfast area after complaining to a new desk person that showed zero care or concern. And we spot a roach crawling on the the wall towards a huge roach nest in the corner of the breakfast area. We have pbotos of everything to prove it. This hotel is a nightmare and to top it off the manager only wanted to deal with us over the phone with the desk lady as a 3rd party messenger offering 50 dollar refund. Baymont and public health services will be contacted. No one should pay 260 a night to stay in a nightmare. Unsatisfied.

This place is a disgrace to even be called a hotel. This place was filthy. The first room I went into they were dead flies in the bed. It smelt like it had never been cleaned or disinfected. As I walked into the bathroom, there was a wet dirty rag in the middle of the floor. The bathroom sink was full of dead insects and a used cup was sitting on the sink. I went up to the front desk and told them that this room was not acceptable very politely and he apologized and gave me a different room on the other side of the complex. As I drove over there, it seemed like no one was staying there. As I walked up to the room, I noticed one door look like it had been kicked in. another door was open, but I think someone was inside. As I walked in that room, it smelt worse than the first one. Went into the bathroom and it was dirty just as well. The beds were made, but it looked like no one had stayed in his room for a while. I went back to the front desk and told him that this isn’t gonna work that I had a son who could not sleep in these conditions due to a breathing issue. The hotel front desk gave me a refund. I contacted hotels.com about the issue. I have not heard back on a refund yet, but if I don’t, I will be contacting my bank. I would stay away from this place as it’s probably the worst experience I’ve ever had with a hotel.

Baymont by Wyndham Lubbock – Downtown Civic Center: A True American Horror Story

Wow. Just… wow.
The word “disgusting” doesn’t even begin to describe this place. The room reeked of cigarettes, armpits, and broken dreams. The bedspread looked like it had survived multiple pandemics — COVID, SARS, and possibly the Black Plague.
The carpet was torn in several places and looked like it hadn’t seen a vacuum since the Clinton administration. None of the lamps worked — which might actually be part of their strategy because darkness is the only way you’d want to see this room.
If you’re looking for a place that tests your immune system, congratulations — you’ve found it! One star only because zero stars isn’t an option.
On a plus side, they must be so used to people wanting a refund they didn’t even argue with us.

This hotel was extremely unclean and unsafe. The door to the room, while would successfully shut, the doorhandle was severely dameaged. The microwave was filthy. The vent in the bathroom had no cover. There was no remote for tthe TV, when I asked for one it was not delivered until the following day when I asked a second time.

First room was dirty with trash everywhere, bare bulbs in lamps, smelled like someone died, and unmade bed. Second room had holes in the walls, black plastic stapled above bathroom door, dirty linens, smoke alarm that went off all night, and smelled. Dirty people seemed to be living in hallways/rooms with doors opened. Random animals & people wondering around. Staff dis not speak english. Do NOT recommend!

This property was unsafe and unsanitary! We had to leave! There was clothes going up the stairs the walkway looked broken. The doorway looked like it had been busted in. There was one light and the others were broken. There were absolutely no towels, no toilet paper. The receptionist looked upset when we checked in.
