This is a grand hotel in the truest sense of the word. Everyone is cordial at all times and the property feels special. The bar at night is a vibe that must be experienced with a Luxembourgish cremant.

Terrific location for Christmas Markets, pleasant and cozy hotel, beautiful decor. Very spacious room,very nice surprise that it had a view to the Xmas Market, wish it had wooden floor rather than carpets but thats my personal preference. Loved having bath robe and slippers provided, very nice touch and great tobhave a kettle in the room too. Things to improve, breakfast was nice but could do with being refilled more often as when we arrived 1 hour before it closed, a
lot of items were already gone and not replaced for example the small croissants. It would have been better to have a coffee machine in the breakfast area instead of having a la carte. Friendly staff, overall a very pleasant experience and would certainly return, thank you for everything.

I love the history of the Cravat hotel. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. The only quibble I have is being given an “internal” room where the window just looks out to the opposite wall.

I visited during the Christmas markets and it is located right opposite the main market. However, there are many other markets around. The hotel bar is a great feature. Its a retro hotel so dont expect any modern Ipad check ins or gadgets.

The staff were beyond friendly and helpful. The hotel room was dated, but comfortable and we had a small balcony with a great view and you could not beat the location .... however, if you are driving and you are dropping off your bags, there is really no where to do that, and we weren't there for literally two minutes and a police car pulled up next to us!

They took an additional £250 \"deposit\" from me to cover things such as me smoking in the room. They absolutely assured me that this would be refunded to my account as soon as I checked out. Well, that was yesterday and I'm still missing the money. So, if it's not back with me later today I'm calling the police to report a potential fraud.

Public areas were better maintained than bedrooms which were generally tired. Air conditioning would have been appreciated but we were given a fan on request. Breakfast was good with a lot of choice and lovely big mugs. I would have preferred warm crepes than the cold ones on offer but everything else was good.

This location of this hotel is perfect. It's 20 minutes max from the airport and it's on main street for easy taxi access. Just 2 minute walk to Notre Dame Cathedral and many other sites, bars and restaurants. The rooms have an old world charm to them. No air conditioning in the room makes it a little warm for sleeping. But it wasn't too bad with the window open just a little noisy for the street noise and bars until about 1am. Overall a nice experience.

An excellent place to stay to explore Luxembourg

This is an excellent hotel to stay to explore Luxembourg as it is located close to many attractions. The monument of remembrance is located right next to the hotel and you can get great view of it right from your hotel room! The room is spacious and the breakfast buffet is excellent. Many other dining options are available very close to the hotel as well. The hotel is accessible from the Luxembourg central railway station via the free tram, followed by a short walk.

Besides the breakfast, which was excellent, the room had not AC so you had to open the window to get some coolness, but it faced a major thoroughfare that was extremely noisy and then you could not sleep. Location is great though. It is also an old hotel and it shows in the rooms and bathroom.

The Grand Hotel Cravat Luxembourg hotel is in a very good location. This has easy access to the restaurants and heart of the town. The staff are very friendly. The room are very clean. The bathroom is massive (half a size of the room). Breakfast is good with variety of choice. The only negative I found was the room was very warm. However after opening the window it was ok. The room I had no external view.

On arrival the manager at the desk was most unfriendly.
The bedroom was very tired the bathroom poor the sanitary ware was very old fashioned. He said the hotel was full
Over the course of the 3 nights I was there I had difficulty turning taps on and off on both the basin and shower and had to call them on two occasions as the taps had siezed up also the toilet didnt flush particularly well.
One night I could not pull the blind down on the balcony windows when I was going to bed - the nightdesk manager came up grumbling as he had to leave the desk he repaired them and implied it was my fault

I had breakfast in the hotel only on the first morning - it was such poor quality - for which they charged 27 euros
I stayed 3 nights they were well aware the room had problems they should never have allowed anyone to stay in it until it had been renovated
I had a very full itinerary in Luxembourg and didnt need all this hassle

Short Trip to Luxembourg

I had a really nice stay here. It's close to pretty much everything that you'd like to see, in the city. The staff were friendly and accomodating. The room itself was really nice and cosy, but it was really hot in the room, and the receptionist kindly found me a fan, which really helped. The only downside is regarding being eco-friendly, individually wrapped soap bars aren't the best, and I only stayed there for 2 nights, so it was a waste. Also, the bed was super squeaky and the pillows were very flat. But other than that, I had an enjoyable stay. I would stay there again.

This place is historic, classy and beautiful. Huge bathroom, loved it. The breakfast we strongly recommend, it was absolutely fantastic. They have a chef on staff, with homemade jams, breads and pastries - along with a bunch of other things I had never had before, but were absolutely amazing. I would go for the breakfast alone. No joke, that good, that beautiful, that amazing. Beautiful location, close to everything. Definitely go for the breakfast!!!

Very disrespectful front desk representatives. I had two issues (dirty tower with female make-up & my black jeans left a black mark on the bed sheets) with my room after check out and the front desk representative tried to take my entire 250 euro deposit! I wasn't happy with the staff service. Very disrespectful to my family and me as if we were immigrants in their country! Parking was a property considering how much the nightly rate for the room
We will not return to Luxembourg City! No way! I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone, not even my worst enemy!! Thank you!!

Tired room that needs a refresh. Walls are somewhat thin. Pillows are awful because they're just air. Bed was ok. Shower was warm and had good pressure, but the head would only point out of the bathtub, which drenched the floor in water. Overall ok, but really needs an update.

I love this hotel - it has an old fashioned hotel feel to it. It was decorated wonderfully for Christmas. The cocktail bar is excellent.
The room are clean and spacious but you must remember this is a very old building. There isnt all the mod cons. The hairdryer for example was very old fashioned. But we liked this feel. Very authentic.

Excellent location and a great bar area. The hotel will recommend parking nearby if you send them an email. One suggestion was free on the weekends but a 20 minute walk away. Otherwise there is a garage a block away but it’s about 35€ per day and busy on a Saturday.

We were so pleased with everything during our two-night stay. Our room was spacious and overlooked the city. Large bathroom with amenities, including bathrobes. The beds were wonderful. The elegant decor and architecture was very well maintained. Several turn-of-the century seating areas and beautiful wooden bar and winding staircase. Unfortunately, we had much rain, but the proximity to numerous restaurants and sites still lured us! The breakfast was extremely well-displayed with a great variety of foods. Attentive servers! The reception gentleman went above-and-beyond, providing us with information, maps, answering our questions about the history of the hotel, restaurants, tram connections to the train station, —and all with wit and a bit of humor! But he did not laugh at my very limited French! (We are from Seattle, Washington, USA.). Would LOVE to be able to return here someday…

Some wear and tears in the room, but bed is very comfortable. In fall and winter rooms without air conditioning and a window facing inward turn out to be all right, but I could imagine it'd be a bit unbearable in the summer.

Location was fantastic for the old town.
I loved the art deco style in the hotel and our room with the balcony and lovely view (room 551). Also appreciated the provision of slipper and dressing gowns and tea/ coffee, although there was no black tea options or milks provided (I would have asked if I needed but we didn't end up needing to).
Some might find the decor in need of updating, and agree that it may need a refresh but for me it added to the charm. The hotel does seem to be updating some rooms as floor 4 looked refurbished. I would hope the refurbished rooms still retain the art deco character. The lounge and dining areas and old lift were beautiful. Would definitely stay again if revisiting Luxembourg.

Parking the only issue we had

Hotel is ideally placed for walking around the city. Eateries nearby, plus cathedral and viewpoint.

Room was comfortable. No air conditioning, so had to open the windows. Mattress slightly softer than I prefer. Bathroom was huge. Shower curtain could do with being longer given its fixed position and the shower being in the middle of the bath’s length.

Main issue for us was that there is NO parking for high vehicles nearby. Everything is under ground and 2 metres and under. Our options were carrying our luggage for 15 or 18 minutes or getting park and ride. Not the hotel’s fault, and they communicated well with us on it. But one for potential visitors to be aware of if you’re in a van, camper van or with a roof box.

Perfect location for exploring the Old Town area. Close to restaurants, shops and plazas. City i fo is nearby.

Everything was clean even though it is an old and historic hotel. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Bed was comfortable even though room does not have a/c. Bath is modern but I had a problem with water leaking around the shower… bad design.

Classic European hotel

Lovely classic European hotel in the heart of Luxembourg city. You can’t get a better location. Gorgeous views out over the city and close to major attractions and dining options. Breakfast was excellent and the servers very hospitable. Bed on the firm side. Only complaint was the old-fashioned key to the door that I struggled to use to get into the room. The locks could be upgraded without reducing the rest of the charm of the place.

The Grand Hotel Cravat is a lovely hotel in a great location. It feels a bit dated, but that adds to the charm of it. The front desk staff was extremely helpful during the stay: securing a taxi for me at 3:30am and having a to-go bag of breakfast items packed since I had to miss the breakfast buffet. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet was delicious. My only complaint was the room heat/air was difficult to figure out and a ceiling or table fan would have been nice to help circulate the air. Overall, I definately recommend this hotel.

Great breakfast and friendly staff. The lobby and hallways are nicely decorated. The hotel has an older style and has furniture from another era. If you are looking for an elegant atmosphere, different from modern hotels, while still being comfortable, this hotel won’t disappoint. I recommend to book a city view room. There was a fresh apple for every guest in the room every day. I had an issue with the room that I was checked in and although I had to ask for it to be looked into, staff were very accommodating and resolved the issue.
