Been a frequent guest at this location due to business interests. Last week when I checked in the reception was extremely good with the front desk staff being extremely helpful like always. To top it off I got an upgrade to a nice quiet area of the hotel and a super spacious room. Fully enjoyed a nice relaxed day and evening

The bar staff, service, and drink prices were excellent! Our room was clean and the lobby was nice. All staff were courteous during our entire stay. The disappointment was the pool and workout areas. The pool was cloudy and did not look like it had been cleaned in a while and the workout area smelled bad. The rating would have been higher if not for these two areas. Breakfast is your standard, continental affair and fed us for free before hitting the road.

We stayed a week in the Cosmo suite with a toddler. Great room even with the balcony closed. Excellent view.
Breakfast and coffee options could improve. They don't match the experience of everything else.
Bar and staff are both excellent.

The breakfast was decent but it didn't have any breakfast meat which i thought was odd because they had 2 dishes of scrambled eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy. Cereals, mini muffins, breads and bagels, cereals, fruit and a mini pancake machine. The facility itself was great. I had an issue with only 1 staff member, the morning of our departure, i let the front desk person know one of the coffee dispensers was empty and she acted like it was a huge inconvenience to let whoever handles refilling it know. Not great customer service.

I didn't have a good experience this time. Breakfast was good, bar run out of food, one of the nights I stayed the air conditioner stopped working, my family and I slept with a hot room, thank God the AC got fixed the following day. Pool got close early on Saturday, we couldn't used it on Sunday before we left the hotel. When I check out I told the receptionist how bad our experience was, she careless.

The hotel location/rooms/view and amenities were all great. Unfortunately, during our stay there was an issue between guests causing the pool to shut down until almost check-out the next day. (The main reason we chose it) The situation was not handled properly by management & the front desk staff were pretty rude too. I was told I could get late check out by one just to be told a hour later by another they weren’t doing it anymore. She then proceeded to call my room “making sure I was out” even after I left my cards at the desk. Beautiful property but sad to say after that ordeal I will never be back.

Unruly guests were allowed to threaten and intimidate other guests without a problem from the night manager on duty apparently anything goes. The pool was a zoo instead of a pool Trashy Parents trying to fight people and were protected by the hotel night management. They should make sure to kick people out of the hotel when they are threatening disrespectful or rude instead of asking me if I want my money back and can leave. I have a disabled child that had to deal with a traumatic experience while they catered to Ghetto Trash.

The property as a whole is nice, hot tub is a little small. Kids loved the pool and the pool are was nice as well! Swimming pool is both indoor and outdoor which is awesome! The walls seem thin as we could hear the neighbors and their kids. I would recommend requesting a top floor room as the people above us were extremely loud bright and early in the morning! Breakfast was delicious and the breakfast area is very large which is nice as there is plenty of seating! Bar area was also nice! Ice makers on 2nd and 4th floor. Shower did have a small crack in the floor which didn’t affect our ability to use it, but it was there.

hot tub was scummy, pool area seemed kind of dirty. Room was all scuffed up on every surface, obviously hotel is not in its prime. could use some updates / maintenance in places.

Staff was fantastic, room was ok otherwise. Bathroom was clean, room was clean. Freezer looked to maybe have mold in it but not sure.

tv was ancient, needs upgraded to smart tv.

Even though a non-smoking hotel, so many guests smoking outside, in front of the hotel meant you had to walk through a gauntlet of smoke and cigarette butts on the ground while trying to get in the hotel. That needs to be fixed.
We drive an EV and the Tesla chargers were very convenient in the parking lot, for Tesla and non-Tesla (type 2 for non-Tesla).
Breakfast was very disappointing. Continental breakfast with powdered eggs and unappetizing choices.

Beautiful rooms and atmosphere. Unfortunately the bed had some loose equipment underneath it and would jangle every time we rolled over at night. And I think they must have had a school group there or something because we had teenagers loudly running up and down the hallways until late. So it wasn’t terribly restful. But I know the staff did what they could, and the breakfast and views were beautiful. We’d stay again…maybe after asking a few questions first lol.

When we went to ask for a remote the lady said she didn't have any remotes and didn't seem to want to help figure out how to get a remote. Also if you want stuff to drink get it somewhere other than the hotel because bottles of water are $4

Stayed 2 days. Did not get to use all the amenities. Comfortable beds, nice shower, average tv viewing, very clean. Reasonable cost. They do not automatically clean or reset your room during your stay. I'm sure you could ask though. Breakfast was very average if that. But I generally do not appreciate hotel breakfast. Location is great. Nice walking area near the water. Very pet friendly. Pro tip: If there is going to be heavy storms or wind during your stay, avoid the top 4th floor. Very noisy on the roof. But I certainly would go back.

Our stay at Stoney Creek Hotel Kansas City - Independence was unfortunately the worst hotel experience we’ve had.

There were extremely large groups of unattended children throughout the property. I’m not referring to a handful, there were easily two dozen pre-teen children running up and down the hallways late at night and occupying the pool area with little to no supervision.

After 10 PM, the hallway running and yelling continued. When we politely asked them to stop, they became even louder.

The suite above our room had children running, jumping, and moving furniture until nearly 2 AM, making it nearly impossible to sleep. We reported this to the front desk around midnight. The staff member who helped us was very polite and professional, and he did go upstairs to speak with them, but unfortunately the situation was never resolved and the noise continued.

I understand hotels can’t make children behave, but there should be enforceable policies for the adults responsible for them. It isn’t fair for other guests — who paid the same rate, to dodge unsupervised children in hallways or feel like they need to watch children in the pool who clearly cannot swim.

This is especially disappointing because my family has stayed here several times a year, but after this experience that will likely have to change.

The hotel had very good prices and the location was wonderful as it was close to alot of things, loke restaurants and shops. We opted for two queen beds even though it was just my wife and I. The bed was somewhat stiff but definitely not horrible. Yeah had a room on the very top floor in a corner and the only setback we had was a family that was exactly right next to us in the small closed off area kinda and they were just kinda of in and out over and over nonstop and they also had a dog with them that either had seizures or something because 4 times over the two days in the middle of the night it was screaming like it was hurt, but know it wasnt cause our dog jad them when he was a puppy but this dog was older. Other then that the hotel and staff was really nicely kept and friendly so definitely would stay there again when in the area.

It was nice for what I was there for leisure .

I have to say I was disappointed. For a room to cost as much as this one I wud have expected the lobby and suitcase cart to be clean but it was not. The suitcase cart was nasty and the carpet near the elevator was nasty as well as the elevator. Staff was nice and my room was ok but very small. I did not like the fact that there was a card asking for a tip for the room cleaner. I really thought when I booked this that it was gonna be different than all other hotels but no.
