It is a beautiful hotel and it was .y second time that i booked this property as i liked it very much last time. This time, my checkin was with difficulties as they didn't give me the room that i had originally booked. They eventually gave us an extra bed and expedia agent tried to help. Overall it went well

My wife and I found this hotel to be spectacular and a very good price. We did not sign up for the breakfast, so cannot comment on that. Would definitely stay there again if the opportunity arises.

The reception team were very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was nice and the bed was comfortable. There was no water in the bedroom or biscuits on the tea and coffee selection tray. I stayed for two nights and nothing was replenished on the tea tray. I’m sure if I had asked I could’ve had extra things. The size of the bedroom and bathroom was huge and the bath was lovely.

Really clean and nice hotel located in a quiet area near the river and a great walking path. We were there during COVID so the restarurant was only doing pick up but it was very well organized, the food was great and the staff were super helpful and courteous. We love this chain!

A friendly welcome, helpful staff, a delicious and well priced evening meal in the restaurant, and a great breakfast. We stayed at Van der Valk with a Dutch friend and his wife and found the area very interesting and the hotel very pleasant. The staff were excellent, very skilled at their jobs, knowledgeable, polite and informative. The bedrooms and bathrooms were large and the dining room was well laid out, giving excellent views of the river. The food was great; almost anything you can think of for breakfast and a varied menu in the evening.

Fairly priced room, but no a/c! The hotel is nice ... just wasn't to our liking as the area was so boringly quiet. Still, if quiet is what you want, then it's very good. I wouldn't stay there again though as I've seen more action in a morgue! The no smoking policy is rather draconian and I'm not even sure it's facilitated on the room balconies as there aren't the usual 'wall-mounted' ash-trays ... despite there bring a cigarette vending machine in the foyer! ... unless you want to risk the €200 fine ^^!

Although off the beaten path, this hotel is a gem! Wonderfully located adjacent to the river \"Oude Maas\", but yet very close to the city of Rotterdam.Fantastic room and bed (very comfortable) and wonderful service from the Front Desk to the restaurant, bar and room service staff.

Tucked out of the way but well worth discovering
We arrived late and the hotel was a bit tricky to find in the dark but the hotel receptionist provided helpful navigation hints over the phone. The kitchen was due to close at 10pm but the staff stayed on another half an hour to make sure we were fed and cooked us a terrific mixed grill with all the accoutrements. The waiting /bar staff were also wonderfully welcoming and happy despite us being the last in the bar.
The en-suite room was well equipped, clean and extremely spacious. Really the only criticism I can make is the pillow being too fat and springy.

We did not book Dinner in advance and the resturant was very busy but the staff were really helpful and arranged a table for us without any fuss. As it was Mother's Day in Holland (May 13, 2012) every lady in the resturant was given a long stemmed red rose, a lovely touch. We would have no reservation about staying in this Hotel in future.

Op zich een prima hotel. We hadden misschien wat pech met de kamer. Tapijt wat oprolde waardoor je er in de nacht over valt, in bed lig je in een kuil, afvoer verstopt l, douches die lekken en thermostaatkraan die niet echt werkt en tv uit het jaar 0.
Verder waren we prima tevreden. Personeel heel vriendelijk. Ontbijt meer dan redelijk. Zwembad heeft onze zoon enorm van genoten en was netjes en schoon.

Wij vonden het een hartstikke leuke lokatie en met het zicht op de oude maas, gezeten op het balkon zijn wij helemaal tot rust gekomen. Het enige wat ons tegenviel was de airco. De 18graden die hij aangaf is het nooit geweest naar ons gevoel. Het was ons te warm. Dat heeft ons verblijf in de ruime kamer echter niet ontsiert. Heerlijk toeven daar!

Das Hotel war gut, entsprach aber nicht gänzlich meinen Erwartungen. Die Zimmer sind recht hellhörig und kühlen im Winter schnell aus, sofern die Klimaanlage nicht läuft. Es war leider kein richtiger Schreibtisch vorhanden.WLAN war stabil und die Bandbreite für VPN und Netflix ausreichend.

Alles war tip top, bis auf die Betten. Wenn man nicht aufgepasst hat, ist man nachts aus dem Bett gefallen, da sich die Matratzen verschoben haben, hinzu kam, dass das Wasser in den Waschbecken und Duschen nicht abgelaufen ist. Das Frühstück hatte alles was man benötigt, allerdings war der Aufschnitt eine Katastrophe. Das Abendessen sah gut aus, war aber geschmacklich unterirdisch für ein 4 Sterne Hotel. Vielleicht sollte der Chefkoch überlegen diesbezüglich einiges zu verändern!

Parken konnte man quasi gratis direkt vor der Eingangstür. Einchecken ging schnell und effizient auf Englisch. Hotelzimmer war gut, nur Leider kein Blick auf den Fluss mit den ganzen Schiffen. Konnte man aber gut beim reichhaltigen Frühstück geniessen.
