Gem of a place

The villa was spotless and very quite. It was on a working banana plantation.
You need a car to get about but you can walk at side of the road to get to the nearest beach and restaurants and supermarkets.
There were 5 of us staying , the water for the shower ran a little cool when 3 had showered so could do to be replaced with a bigger boiler.
The beds were super comfy with lovely white sheets. Not luxuary but all in all a little gem of a place.

Perfect family stay

We had a very pleasant stay at Apartamentos HG Cristian Sur. The staff was very informative with a perfect English. The room was clean and tidy. Room service worked as expected so we didn't need to worry about anything. The pools were very good and my son spend a lot of lovely time there.
I highly recommend.

Apartments are in a good area near to lots of bars, restaurants and cafes. Well kept and clean although I found the bed quite hard. Plenty of sun beds but not the comfiest and next time I shall take a lounger pad. Large pool area, well kept with good on site snack bar for food and drinks. Two supermarkets close by. Wi-if is available but not free which was a little disappointing.

Nice family break

Firstly the staff were brilliant, check in was smooth and quick which after a long travel is most appreciated.
Food at the hotel is great, decent variety and all cooked fresh. Pools are great for the kids and the gardens are kept immaculate.
The rooms are a really good size and very clean. Considering the heat I was a little disappointed that there was no air conditioning in the room however we hired a fan and that made the room comfortable at night. The hot water flow was quite slow too so you might struggle if you like really hot showers.
Overall though I would recommend the hotel to friends and family and the resort is great, plenty to do for all ages and loads of places to eat and drink.

Our apartment was generally spacious and light (although we had to squeeze past the bedroom cupboard, and the kitchen lacked any preparation area other than the dining table). The balcony was huge, and had a great view across out to the mountains. The room was serviced every day except on a public holiday. Reception staff were knowledgeable and helpful. There was enough crockery, cutlery and glassware provided. The bed was firm and comfortable, and the bedding was excellent. The shower was hot enough, with good pressure. There were a few minor maintenance issues such as a broken towel rail.

The room smelt bad of stale cigarettte some, the curtains & blind in kitchen needed cleaning. TBH if I hadn't been so tired & hungry I would have walked back to reception & asked for another room. Left all windows open when we went to eat so it was about bearable on return.

Decent location but disappointing stay

We’d stayed at this hotel previously and I really liked the size of the apartments and the location so we decided to stay there again. I was disappointed this time though, which was a shame. Some (not all) of the reception staff were not very attentive, and were talking to other staff whilst I was trying to check in which I found quite rude. We had a morning flight and arrived at the hotel around 11:30 and had to wait until 3pm for our room, which meant we lost most of our first day there which was frustrating! Especially after getting up so early to arrive at a decent time!! The cleanliness of the rooms left a lot to be desired too, we had ants (which they gave us spray for) and the floor wasn’t mopped once. The pool area is lovely and the location is fabulous though! It’s a shame, this may have just been a one off, but I doubt we’ll stay here again as there are two other decent hotels in the same area.

The 2 bed at HG Cristian Sur was old but spacious. The faults were that there is no lift in the complex and even though when booking months ago we requested a ground floor apartment as one of the group was almost 28 weeks pregnant and we also had a 4 year old with us, we were still put on the top floor. An option was given the following day to move to a first floor apt but it was at the very back of the complex away from amenities so although lower a much further walk so we stayed as it was a day into our holiday and we'd already bought groceries and unpacked. It's also a long walk to the beach and prom from the apts. The cleaners did a great job. The pool was great. Our biggest disappointment was the cafe bar ARCO IRIS at Hg Cristian sur. We had eaten and bought drinks all week (not cheap compared to local cafes or bars) and had bought drinks in the bar on our last night but they had stopped serving food as it was late. 1 of us went and got a take away to bring to our apartment including chips for the 4 year old who was hard to get to eat something but they forgot ketchup for the 4 year old's chips and when I asked the cafe for a squirt of ketchup, they refused saying we didnt buy the food there. I explained it was because they had stopped serving and that it was one squirt for the 4 year old who's a picky eater and they still refused. I thought it was disgusting service when we had spent a fortune all week for food, drinks, playing air hockey and pool at their cafe bar.

A well situated apartment

Easy to find, easy to check in, efficient and friendly staff, lovely apartment really perfect for our needs. The room was a little noisy at first due to the bars across the road though we found the karaoke amusing but its not like this every night. The views from our balcony were beautiful day and night with views towards the sea and inland towards Mount Teide.
The pools were good onsite and the walk to the beaches was always a pleasurable 10-30 minute stroll depending on what beach to use.....Las Vistas being our top choice. Excellent choices of restaurants, English, local and everything else along with bars...English and Spanish.

Very disappointed with the apartment, located very near to bars and restaurants with loud music every night till midnight followed by drunken revellers till the early hours. No air conditioning but had to keep windows closed at night due to the noise.apartment so basic, had to pay for T.V, room safe, iron. Not even a microwave, no pedal bin in kitchen just a bucket with a lid, pedal bin in bathroom but pedal to operate it missing.small insects frequently found in cabinet for storing food. Will never stay there again nor indeed visit Tenerife again. Having said what I think of the apartment this does not reflect on any of the staff who always tried to be helpful and courteous .

Quite relaxing complex and nice layout of gardens and pools. Couple of near misses on wet tiles around pool and on stone steps leading down through grass area towards pool. Reception efficient but not very friendly. There are different 'blocks' and the one we were in (I think 4) was not as updated as the rest appeared. Rooms really basic.

Quiet, relaxing stay!

Quiet complex with limited facilities but a relaxing and enjoyable stay stay,there was never a scramble for sunbeds as there were plenty to go round!! There is no entertainment if that's what youre looking for, but our 2 bedroom appartment on the second floor was spacious with 2 bathrooms and 2 balconies.( Also had to go up many steps to access it!) Plenty of restaurants and bars in the immediate area.

Top weather saved the stay

We had wonderful weather which made up for most of the shortcommings of the apartment: Bed hard as ironing board, poorly equipped kitchen (no dish for the oven,no serving utensils, no potato peeler, impossible to use box opener and more), old CRT TV which you had to pay extra for, towels that stinked even when delivered. We also missed sunbeds on the terrace. That only the smallest of the 4 pools was heated was also dissapointing. It appears to us that the HG owners and management are trying to milk a good location and a hot market. Finally, during the last week the apartment below was completely gutted. This meant 6 hours of very noisy hammering a day. Then we really were happy that the weather was so good.
The plus we can give is for the pool area, which was beautiful.

Initial thoughts of hotel and apartments were its clean, spacious, and well matianed.
We arrived early afternoon and after a quick explore of the hotel grounds we explored the area.
Right away we noticed what a brilliant location the hotel is in. 15 minute stroll to the munipal beach and harbour. You pass the town centre on way to the beach.
There a 4 pools one of which is heated. Although we are not convinced it heated to the temperature stated on the checklist by the pool. However, it's still a comfortable temperature to swim in.
Sun beds are ulocked at 9am. By 9:10 am, expect the sun beds to be reserved with Towels and no one on them. On one occasion a couple had the nerve to reserve them at 9am and return at 1:30 pm. There are several signs round all the pools about not reserving sun beds, but the hotel does nothing about it.

Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Even the ground staff say hello.

We didn't use the hotel bar or cafe. Primarily because we like to eat and drink out, and it's also cheap.

We would recommend the hotel. It was a our first visit to the hotel and to Los Christianos. We are planning to go again.

We had a lovely stay here, the room was nice the pool area is lovely, the only down side was the pool rules... They were adhered to apart from the people who appeared to own their own apartment they seemed to resent anyone taking their space, but don't let that put you off the hotel is in a perfect location, the staff are very helpful and friendly, we very much enjoyed our stay.

The normal facilities we have enjoyed in other 3 star establishments were only available at extra cost. For example if you wanted the remote control for the television - 20 euros per week; WiFi(free in all the localbars ) 20 euros a week, but only in public areas; iron - guess what - 20 euros. No microwave, no cushions on sofa and no cushion seats for the plastic patio set. No keys for the security gates on the front door or patio doors - patio doors secured by a piece of wood a metre long. I would rate at no more than 2 star.

Not a three star apartment

On arrival the one bedroom apartment we were given, although very dated, had a nice view overlooking the pool and was well equipped for self catering. However on inspection there were hairs all over the floor, ants in the kitchen and the general cleaning could have been better. We discovered later the walls are very thin! The on site facilities were expensive ie. you have to pay for the TV remote, wifi and breakfast in the cafe was very dear. Thankfully we were only staying for one night.

A nice family hotel with 2 great pools and grounds. Apartments are spacious with good self-catering facilities. None of the rooms have air-con, and when it hits the mid-30s it gets pretty hot. We left the front and back doors open to try to get a breeze going whenever possible. Other than that, the place is worth a visit.

Nice pool area. Apt was nice, uncomfortable beds. Was noisy at night since there are no ac's and we had to sleep with our windows open. Slept on futon in living area to remedy this. Front desk staff were terrible. I would not stay here again. Towels smelled musty even when they were \"fresh\".

Stayed for one week Easter break. Basic apartments, clean and comfortable. They charge for tv, wifi and safe. We didn't bother with the TV as it was probably a 12inch screen built in the 80's. Staff were really friendly, pool area okay. Location was good. Would stay again at these apartments. Relaxing break.

We rented a 2 bed apt, 2nd bed up a spiral staircase. There were 4 of us. Apt would take 6. Lounge balcony faced the road with morning sun 2nd bed balcony faced inward with nothing to see except evening sun above roof tops.

It was grand. But shower ran out of hot water after 3 minutes and fridge froze the food. There was a TV, but you had to pay 20 euros for the privelage. Overall it was fine, these hotels/ apts are basically all the same. Unless you stay in 4 star or 5 star establishments. But hey ill stay in hostel for some sun in January!

3 nights in Tenerife south

Overall - reasonable price, good for a family or a couple, especially if you want to cook at home and easy accessible to tenerife south, teide mountains, the big tree, siam park, aqualand, maliza show, all good things around tenerife south and central.

We booked this hotel for a 3 night stay in Tenerife. This is not a proper hotel but is more like you get your own flat for the stay. It is fully equipped with a kitchen (except no microwave) and you can cook and eat at leisure buying good and cheap food in the supermarket down the hotel rather than paying at restaurants every night you are outside. There is also a swimming pool which the kids loved but was not heated and was cold to go in (though my kids took one dip) - this will not be a problem if you go in summer :) the hotel charges you reasonable rates for wifi, tv remote
Hotel has a taxi rank outside and bus stop is 2 minutes walk. All the pickups you do for your holiday excursions usually come to this apartment or near another major hotel which is 5 minutes walk. The beach is about 7-10 minutes and has nice restaurants shops around it. this apartment also has its own restaurant and a pool table where you can drink, lazy around or walk across the road for more shops, pubs including a chinese restaurant.

Basic but immaculately clean

This was our third visit (always during first week in October). Ideal location for us, plenty of parking outside, all attractions of Los Cristianos within strolling distance. The rooms are a little tired and basic but are immaculately clean and housekeeping visit daily. Clean linen and towels twice a week. There are several bars directly opposite the complex with entertainment every evening. This can be loud but there is a very strict midnight curfew after which it is silent. Please be aware that there is a fee for all in room services. For the TV you have to rent the remote control for a fee and deposit but they have all the main UK channels. There is also a fee for the safe, iron & fan. Hotel WiFi is available for a fee but most bars and restaurants offer it for free to customers so if you really must check emails it's cheaper and faster over coffee downstairs. We are already looking forward to our visit next year!

One block from Los Cristianos bus station for buses around Tenerife including the airport, 10 minutes walk to the beach and a EUR 4 taxi ride away from the shops and restaurants of Las Americas. The apartments were reasonably furnished and spacious, although there is no air conditioning (just a ceiling fan) and wifi is not free

Not suitable for young children

The apartments aren't suitable for young children. There are steps down to the living area in all the apartments and the 2beds have a dangerous spiral staircase. No lifts at all so you'll need to carry pushchairs etc up to the rooms and the stairs are quite narrow with lots of walking along corridors. Also says free wifi and that isn't the case. It's 20Eur for a week to connect 1 device and the connection is unstable. Good location though, nice cafe 'orange tree' on site which does a good breakfast and the other main cafe does good food. Handy location for lots of bars and restaurants - most bars do a pint of beer for around 1EUR which is unbelievable... If you like German and Belgium beer, go to Izzy's - just at the bottom of the walkway to the beach on the left of the stairs..

Great location but not really a hotel

Stayed here on hogmanay - last night before return flight. Very close to centre of Los Christianos so no taxis needed, This is a group of apartment blocks with basic facilities and several pools. No problems with security although because it is so open plan make sure all doors and windows properly locked. TV is extra to hire per week and I guess hairdryers and irons could be hired also. Overall experience not great but the location made up for this.

The apartment had no dish washing liquid or cloths. There was no oil, sugar, salt or the usual condiments needed to be able to use the kitchen facility. The room was cleaned daily, more like a hotel, but soap was not replaced unless requested. Reception would not call a taxi for us on a rainy night. This place needs to decide what it is so guests can arrived prepared. Otherwise the room sizes were good, location is fine with some (mainly touristy) restaurants across the road if you don't wan to take the short walk to town. The cafe inside the resort is fantastic, happy vibe amongst regular guests and fabulous service. The Orange Tree cafe service is awful explaining why it was far less busy.

was dissappointed with WIFI internet facilities as hotel was advertised as having complimentary wifi access in room, was told by receptionist that had to pay for wifi which i did but then got refund as it didn't work, was then told i could get wifi in the cafe on site but they wouldn't give the code unless you bought at least a drink and they changed the code everyday so it would work out expensive to use it, complained to manager about advertising complimentary wifi and he denied it

Bit noisey but nice

Situated close to the bus station and a short walk from the beach. Overall condition of the apartment and pools was good, and it was clean. Not too busy or crowded at any time. Good local amenities. You have to pay extra for the safe (which was quite expensive), and you pay per day. Wifi was available, but again this was quite expensive. Our room was just above the cafe so we had quite a lot of noise from that, although it didn't cause us too much bother as we were out and about a lot. The main noise came from the apartments from across the road that played very loud live music in an open bar until really late at night (well past 11.30pm). Overall we had a pleasant stay, and it suited all our needs, but the noise from across the road did spoil things a bit.

Very nice for families with young children.

Very nice complex. Good for families with children. Three pools, one for very young children. Very nice and well maintained gardens. Close to main bus station. Close to harbor. Close to beaches. Close to good restaurants. Service and cleanness are not known in their vocabulary. The maids do not have the time to do their work properly. The little safe in the apartment does only work against payment, same for TV. Every little thing is available only against payment, even the scale for your suit cases. The positive side is the little restaurant and snack in the complex which is independent.

This was our 2nd stay at the Cristian Sur Apts, the staff in the cafe bar are great and so welcoming and helpful, the food is excellent and they serve a wicked g & t lol. Our room this year needed a little tlc and didnt have a microwave plus we had to pay for the remote control in order to use the television, sign of the times maybe!! My family age range was from 13 to 79 and it suited us all, the only big gripe is that it dosnt have a lift so with our room being on the 2nd floor it was a bit of a stuggle for my dad. We would diffinately stay there again but on the ground floor. I miss it already and I've only been home 1 day, heres to next year.

Hotellet ligger godt i gåafstand til byen og med mange gode restauranter lige om hjørnet. Velassorteret supermarked i samme bygning som hotellet. Hotellet er fint, men meget slidt. Personalet er yderst venlige. Poolområdet er lækkert med en opvarmet pool og en anden, der er mere frisk. Der står meget tydeligt på et skilt ved poolen at det ikke er tilladt at reservere solstole og at håndklæder vil blive fjernet, men det sker ikke. Folk stod klar kl 9.00 da der blev låst op for stolene og kl 9.05 var alle stole blokeret med håndklæder og hynder, men ingen mennesker. Dette resulterede i, at flere familier måtte gå forgæves til poolen. Man lærte hurtigt, at man var nødt til at gøre det samme, hvis man skulle gøre sig forhåbninger om at få en solseng at ligge på. Virkelig irriterende! Når man tillader folk at blokere solstole, må man anskaffe sig flere, så der er nok til alle.

Uppvärmda poolen var toppen! Varm och skön!

Kaffebryggaren var inte så bra och begränsade matlagningsmöjligheter.

Jättetrevligt hotell som jag varmt kan rekommendera. Lägenheten hade lite äldre inredning med var trevlig och renstädad. Vi hade två balkonger, en mot poolen och en mot gatan. Mysigt att starta dagen med frukost på balkongen, i butiken intill hotellet köpte vi varma nybakade baugetter. Hela hotellområdet var lugnt och välstädat med egen badvakt vid poolen. Hotellrestaurangen hade bra priser men den hann vi aldrig prova. Läget var väldigt bra i lugnt kvarter med några minuters promenad till turiststojet vid havet och strandpromenaden. Även gångavstånd till större matbutik. Vi hyrde bil och parkerade gratis precis utanför hotellet.

Det enda negativa var livemusiken från hotellet mitt emot som drog igång varje kväll. Trubaduren spelade för hela kvarteret med enorm volym fram till kl. 23.00 på kvällen.

Hotellet kändes mindre och mysigare än de stora komplexen i närheten. Trevlig hjälpsam personal.

Mueblea antiguos y rotos, poco menaje, nevera pequeña para 6 personas que apenas enfria, no hay microondas, lavavajillas muy escaso, sofa cama antiguo e incómodo, acceso muchas escaleras sin ascensor, un socorrista para dos espacios separados de piscinas,recogida de hamacas a las 7 y solo 8 paraguas por piscina.Camas muy comodas eso si,
