I loved staying at Dream Cap Cana. The staff were very helpful and nice. I could tell that they loved working there. They ALWAYS had entertainment. If by the pool they had great music playing. The staff was always dancing and interacting with the guests. Breakfast time they had a wide selection of food. So, i always food things that i could eat. Didn’t matter if you were at the pool, eating, or just lounging around the staff always asked multiple times if you needed anything. They were always ready to provide u with drinks or suggestions where to eat. I miss it so much already. I hugged a few employees good bye. They treated us so well!

Excellent resort! Very clean and comfortable. The grounds are impeccable! The staff is helpful and kind. Food is good and pool area beautiful. This is the perfect resort for you if you love beautiful pools and an ocean breeze not far from the airport. It is not a great resort if you love playing in the ocean and desire a lot of beach time. The shoreline is ok but has major sargassum at this time and is small and rocky.

Se vc gosta de praia recomendo que es olha outro Lugar pois as praia tem tanto sargaço que não tem condições de banho e cheira muito mal, o resort é bonito mas a comida é bem ruim, fique atento tb em relacao aos restaurantes que estarão abertos durante a sua estadia pois nem todos abrem, ex: durante a minha estadia de 4 dias o restaurante de comida asiatica não abriu nenhuma vez.

The beach was basically unavailable to whole stay because of gulf weed. The all inclusive its limited, full amenities, drinks and even restaurants are limited to preferred members. The room was not well taken care of. Room service has limited options too

The property appears to have been recently renovated, yet the upholstered surfaces in my room were stained or dirty. There was only one outlet on each side of the bed.

I was disappointed by the food, which I felt lacked in quality and in options for someone with a dairy allergy. On that note, I would have appreciated if the staff was more aware of potential cross-contamination--at the breakfast omelette station, the cook scrambled my eggs in the same bowl and with the same fork that he'd just used for someone's cheesy egg. I could have gotten really sick if my allergy was more severe! There weren't any signs pointing out allergens in the buffet, and the ones in the coffee shop weren't correct.

I also disliked the open bathroom, which would make the room awkward to share with someone other than your partner. The way the open shower is positioned, anyone opening the door would immediately get an eyeful from the hallway. Not good!

The resort was nice and quiet. Perfect for families. I was very disappointed in the resort food. It was lacking flavor and freshness. They didn’t have any real fresh squeezed juices and didn’t have a lot of fresh fruit in general. We’ve stayed at a dreams resort before in Puerto Vallarta and had a much better experience. Your choices of food in the resort were steak, Italian or buffet. The Asian restaurant was only opened on specific days. Not only that but one of the rooms had big roaches every day. Also, one of the rooms was shared with 3 people and they didn’t have a private door to the shower so that made things a little awkward showering. Every time we would ask for help, the staff would shrug us off. I would probably not come back.

The property is an old Margaritaville that was recently purchased by Hyatt and turned into a Dreams. When we first tried to check in we asked to upgrade to the villa area bc we wanted to have access to the kid free pools. So we paid an additional $1750. We were told that this included a villa with a butler, upgraded liquor and access to adult only pool. We waited 4 hrs to finally check in. We were then taken to the villa that had dirty area rugs. To this day I have yet to meet this "butler". The adult only pool was the connected pool area about swim up rooms. Like a lazy river that was never cleaned. Bottom completely brown. Tried to go to the restaurants and half weren't even open at night. But the kicker was the German cockroaches in our villa bathroom on the counter at night. When I brought it to the manager's attention he tried to gaslight us with a text message saying that the Caribbean has roaches. Upon meeting up with him in the lobby he further tried to tell us this and I said well then it should be on you website that you have roaches! I started stopping people who were checking in to tell them that the manger was trying to normalize roaches. It was then that the manager said he would only give us back the upgrade portion of the stay. I feel like I should get back all my money. This was the worst vacation ever! The ocean was experiencing red tide and the hotel didn't even try to clean the seaweed up beyond 3 guys with 1 wheel barrel. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Balcony ceiling crumbled from weather.
Entertainment was equivalent to a local talent show.
Quick changes on what food is available and when made it hard to plan ahead.
Preferred pool changed location during stay(Seemed weird).
I would like to shout out the employees at the Italian restaurant, very pleasant experience and good food.
Overall though, very underwhelming experience and nowhere close to a 5 star hotel and wouldn’t spend the money or time to come here again.

This hotel advertises itself as a 5-star resort, but it felt more like a 3-star experience at luxury prices. The beach was full of sargassum the entire stay and was never properly cleaned, making it unpleasant to enjoy the ocean. In the room, basic amenities like bathroom hooks were missing, and despite multiple requests, nothing was fixed. Staff were polite but rarely followed through on promises. We also requested morning cleaning due to a family member’s disability and need for afternoon rest, but this was ignored every day. The most concerning issue was the Italian restaurant, where several family members became sick after eating. On a positive note, the buffet and restaurant staff were friendly and hardworking. Overall, the hotel suffers from poor management, lack of accountability, and inconsistent service.

Requested to speak to management but that didn't happen until day 4! Tried to leave early but flights were booked.

The property is beautiful and massive. The pools are spotless and our room was among the best I’ve stayed in. The staff was professional and friendly. We were in the preferred section but only heard from our butler once-no biggie. We didn’t need him.

The food was adequate-typical of resorts. We were there in early May and it was quiet so only a few restaurants were open each night. It was fine.

The biggest disappointment was the beach. There were mounds of seaweed two feet high by the shoreline and a good six feet into the sea. That meant there were no water sports, no swimming, and essentially no beach action. We are beach and ocean people. Had I been notified that the beach was not accessible I would have chosen another resort. I suppose that’s why it’s not mentioned anywhere. The beach area was small to begin with. If you want a beach vacation, Dreams Cap Cana is not your resort.

Another detail that can be easily fixed: We were woken up every morning by the landscape and maintenance staff who spoke very loudly to each other. Like screaming to each other across a field. Not at 7:00 AM, thank you! Not a deal breaker per se, but management should know about it.

We came with high expectations as this hotel is located in an exclusive area of Punta cana. We did not have a good experience in this hotel, our plan was to celebrate a mini honeymoon after our wedding in DR, when we arrived and turned on the TV we were greeted with pornography movies to buy which we assumed the previous guests were watching, hairs and stains in the bedsheets. We immediately requested a different room, you would think they will give us a better room based on our experience, wrong. They gave us a room that clearly hasn’t been used in some time, the hand towels had a smell, gave us the worst view looking at a construction site. The food is a hit or miss, the staff is not attentive, it takes forever to get anything you ask for, and you need to follow up multiple times to get it. I don’t plan on coming back or recommending anyone and greatly regret leaving the resort where we got married at Casa de Campo.

The property is like every other Hyatt property anywhere near a beach. The staff were either super attentive or acted like they are doing you a favor. Food was ok at best. We left the all inclusive resort to get a decent meal. The swim up room description was alittle misleading, it was more like a step down moat. If you just want to lay next to a pool with free drinks, this is not the worst place.

I was very disappointed with my stay, primarily due to the lack of basic communication and service. On our first night, there was no running water. Which meant no showers or no using toilets. Each time we called the front desk, we were told it would be back on in “10 minutes,” but it ultimately took four hours from the initial call.

I understand that on a small island, resources and repairs may take time—but honesty goes a long way. I would have much preferred a realistic timeframe and been pleasantly surprised if it was resolved sooner, rather than repeatedly given inaccurate information.

Additionally, I called the front desk four separate times in one night requesting a hair dryer and never received one—not just that evening, but for the entirety of my stay (5 days). I eventually gave up on my request.

What was most frustrating is that there was no acknowledgment or compensation offered for these inconveniences. Overall, the lack of transparency and follow-through significantly impacted my experience.

Overall for how expensive this resort is it was very low level. I’ve stayed at 3 star resorts and had better service and experience. Extremely disappointed. I recently stayed at this hotel and had a generally positive experience. The room was clean, which made for a comfortable stay.
However, the towels were plush and soft for the first two days, but the replacements were rough on the skin. After sunbathing, a low-quality towel is the last thing you want. the food quality in the buffet and restaurants was lacking. Also, only one elevator was operational, which made navigation inconvenient.

Overall, this experience was really nice. The rooms were nice and spacious, the pools were great, the beach was lovely, and the food was also very good as well. The only downside was that we had to wait a little while for our room to be ready. Check in was 3 pm, but our room wasn't ready until about 3:30 or so. It was still a great experience in spite of the wait time. I'd definitely return to this resort again in the future.

The rooms were decent and cleaned regularly, which I appreciated. However, there was a lack of consistency with what was restocked daily, which became noticeable during the stay.

Room service was quite disappointing. Each time I ordered, the wait was around an hour, and unfortunately, the food often arrived cold.

The resort itself felt limited in terms of activities, with most things closing fairly early and not much variety available throughout the day or evening.

Dining was another downside. Every restaurant had about a one-hour wait just to be seated, followed by an additional 30–40 minutes before food was served. On top of that, the quality of the food was underwhelming overall.

This is a beautiful resort. Our room smelled weird on arrival but everything else about the room was nice, view etc.

The staff is all incredibly kind and were great with my teen sons, throwing a baseball and playing volleyball.

On our next visit we would definitely upgrade to a preferred room as there are more food choices at that level. I don't love buffets and that is the main food choice available for breakfast and lunch. There is a great coffee shop though that sells sandwiches and pastries and cakes that we started going to instead of the buffet and that worked out great.

We loved sitting on the beach, we could always find seats with shade and there was a great breeze.

Great all-inclusive with fantastic staff. We were especially impressed with the unexpected personal butler/concierce service. Cesar was absolutely amazing. The only downside at this resort was the beach which was rocky ... however, the sunrise view from the beach was stunning and the pools at the resort made up for it.

I think this property has promise, but they appear to be working out the kinks from the move over from a Margaritaville property to one under Hyatt control. The property is lovely, and the rooms are spacious. Service could be better as the wait staff tends to be slower to response (especially when ordering poolside or beachside). The food options appeared plentiful, but they soon showed to be less attractive and lacked a "personal" touch. With the exception of MESA, the restaurant food was "OK", but was nothing special. At the preferred check in, there was an additional step to check in that turned out to be a sales pitch much like a timeshare encouraging visitors to "hear the Hyatt story", and get additional benefits like dinners - to which you could use coupons. What they didn't tell you was the time commitment, and the additional expense from the upsell and the taxes and fees.

problem with Reservation... After 90 min forced us in van with someone who spoke no english , whom drove us over 2 hrs away where it rained. We came home early. Dreams said they would give us a certificate to come back but once they found out we booked with Expedia they said Expedia wouldhelp us with runied vacation and xtra costs. Expedia no help ..they said we got a hotel stay. BEWARE!!

This is wonderful low key resort but it feels very much like “Cancun lite”… as if they would like to be Cancun but can’t quite figure out how to do it. Poolside drink service is very sparse, night time entertainment has a “second tier” feel to it compared to comparable resorts in Cancun as an example. And housecleaning service was terrible we needed to call every day at 4 just to get our room to be made up. On arrival We ordered extra pillows, from the front desk then through our butler, as we needed to use the fold out sofa, we called for two days asking, we went to the preferred check in for 2 days asking for pillows. We were even told by front desk staff that the resort didn’t have extra pillows on the property. All restaurants are first come first served, no reservations, even through use of butler. So everyone lines up, before the restaurants open at 6 to get seat, then as they go from closed to full in the first few minutes it means service is slow as everyone is ordering at the same time. The normal resort breakfast buffet was far better than the preferred club breakfast restaurant. Steak house and Asian restaurant were good (just slow). Beach is not usable if that’s what your looking for. After all this I actually enjoyed to property and we enjoyed that it wasn’t as busy and crowded as a Cancun resort, I would definitely stay again just monitor your expectations.. now using the Punta Cana airport…that’s another story lol..

Prior to arriving at the Dreams Cap Cana we had read some reviews and quite frankly we were a little nervous. But once we arrived, and we had our first interaction with staff we could see we were in for a great vacation. We had booked for 10 nights and coming from a cold climate we were very much looking forward to the warm weather and relaxing days. Checkin was seamless and they upgraded us to the Premium Area ( nice touch). The rooms were very clean, spacious and our balcony had a nice view of the ocean. The next day we met up with our concierge for the week (Carlos) and he catered to us everyday, always inquiring if everything was going well and if we needed anything else to make our vacation better. When the Premium lounge didn’t have Canadian whiskey, the next day a bottle was in the lounge. The restaurants all had an abundance of different food options and for an all inclusive, the food always kept its flavour and every meal was enjoyable. The bars each offered their own appeal, where you never waited very long for a drink. The staff were always very attentive and polite. The Beach, all the posts we read prior to arriving were accurate about the beach, unfortunately it isn’t very swimable in front of the resort, but just a short walk and the beach’s were absolutely beautiful. For us this wasn’t an issue and we walked on the beach for an hour each day. We would stay here again. Thank you Carlos and the Dreams Cap Cana team, you made our vacation very enjoyable

Overall the property was decent. I have been to a few other dreams and since this one is fairly new there were a few things missing, for the room we needed to call to bring towels, shower caps, and lotion.
They did upgrade us to preferred which was nice and we got the pool view which was also a plus. The room was beautiful and spacious. The restaurants were so so, the one we enjoyed best was the Caribbean restaurant, the other ones I will give a 6/10. The drinks were also so so unless you had a preferred drink which those were good.
I think they just need more time to prepare and learn things about the dreams properties.
The beach had lots of rocks and see-weeds, if you want to enjoy the water beach you will need to walk about 10mins out , the water gets better with less rocks.

I loved my stay at Dreams Cap Cana! The staff was amazing from the moment I arrived — very attentive and friendly.

The buffet had a huge variety of food and everything was delicious. I would definitely return!
