My family and I have been to DR 5 times to date, therefore I feel confident in leaving this review as I’ve experienced a wide variety of hotels, staff/culture, and food.
I’ll start by listing the things that stood out to me from this property and my top one is how child friendly it is. The water areas all include activities for little ones + older children. The splash zone was great for my little one and the kiddie pool was one of his favorites. There is also a water park on the property which he really enjoyed as well. Restaurants have waiting areas for children to play as you enjoy your meal, which was very different and refreshing.
Rooms were spacious and clean.
Now I’ll start the bad review with the food quality. This is the first property where the breakfast is actually a nightmare. The buffet is honestly, not even worth attending. Food was repetitive, meat was hard to the point you couldn’t eat. I spent 7 days on the property and ate at the steakhouse everyday. Which I’m not complaining as the food was great, however not ideal to eat the same type of food everyday comparing to my past stays at other properties. The Japanese restaurant is actually adults only. First time that happens as well.
Staff wasn’t responsive, friendly but dismissive when an issue arose. We tipped bartenders who wouldn’t even look our way after receiving money. Night shows were very nice! However I won’t be returning to this property.

All very clean, huge lobby and friendly and helpful staff. It’s a very family oriented hotel, even for little kids. But that doesn’t take away from adults amenities. The bars, the restaurants, the pools: you will keep yourself entertained all the time.

had the finest club oceanfront suite which was beautiful. we had our 10yo so upgrading to club was not worth the extra cost because specialty restaurants for families just barely better than buffet and regular restaurants. club pool and beach area not any better than main pool/beach. they did a good job clearing seaweed from beach. service and staff were great except the day before we left we requested housekeeping which never came. got back to our messy room in the evening and called concierge who told us will send housekeeping, no one came so i called back 2 hours later and just asked for new towels and tissue which arrived an hour later. overall this is a beautiful resort with typical all inclusive food and entertainment. my son enjoyed the trampoline bubble in the main pool. if you’re looking for a relaxing and worry free vacation, you won’t be disappointed. if you’re looking to party, look somewhere else.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Finest Punta Cana and couldn’t recommend it more highly. From the moment we arrived, the level of service and attention to detail set this resort apart.

The pool area was a true highlight — stunning views, well-maintained facilities, and the perfect spot to relax and unwind. We spent a lot of time there. Beach area was great too

The restaurants were another standout. The food quality, variety, and presentation exceeded our expectations for an all-inclusive resort. Every meal felt like a genuine dining experience

Our stay at Finest Punta Cana was absolutely amazing from start to finish! The resort is beautiful, the food was excellent, and the service truly made the experience unforgettable. (Our third time staying here)

A special thank you to Albert, the bartender, who was always friendly, welcoming, and made the best drinks with a smile. His positive energy made every visit to the bar enjoyable.

We also want to recognize yendry, our server at Gusto, for providing exceptional service. She was attentive, professional, and made our dining experience one of the highlights of our trip.

Another heartfelt thank you to Lelena at Marketplace. She was incredibly kind, helpful, and always greeted us warmly, making every meal feel special.

The biggest challenge throughout our stay was the language barrier. We do not speak Spanish, and although some staff members spoke English reasonably well, many did not. Even after realizing that we could not understand Spanish, staff would often continue speaking Spanish to us. We found ourselves relying on Google Translate throughout the trip just to communicate basic questions and requests. This created a lot of frustration and made it difficult to get clear answers or understand important information.

Our problems began immediately upon arrival. After a long day of travel with a young child, the check-in process took much longer than expected. When we finally reached our room, we discovered that our Terrace Plunge Pool suite had a leak inside the closet area. We called maintenance multiple times and waited a long time without assistance. Eventually, we had to pack everything again and move to a different room.

I do want to recognize Cindy, one of the managers, who was kind and genuinely tried to make things right. She contacted us personally and offered a complimentary Dinner on the Beach as compensation for the inconvenience. We appreciated the gesture and her professionalism.

Unfortunately, the dinner itself was another disappointment. Although we were told it was valued at approximately $250, the food was very similar to what was already available at the buffet. More importantly, the mosquito situation was terrible. Our family was constantly being bitten, making i

This is me and my family’s second time at the property and we love it. What stands out here is the customer service. Every one treats you so nice and you feel like family. What can be improved is the food. Overall, we had an amazing stay and would return. If you can get the finest club, do it and go see Albert for the best drinks. Javier and team has the entertainment on lock and will ensure you have a great time. Wellington, Manuel and crew will take care of you on the beach. Don’t hesitate and book for a wonderful family trip.

This was my second time staying at this resort, and unfortunately, it has gone downhill since my first visit. The resort itself is beautiful, the food was good, and the beach massages were a great touch. The atmosphere is very quiet, which can be relaxing if that’s what you’re looking for.

However, the biggest issue was cleanliness. I encountered cockroaches on three separate occasions, which was extremely disappointing and made me very uncomfortable. For a resort of this caliber, that is simply unacceptable.

Overall, while there were some positives, the rodent/pest issues completely overshadowed the experience. Sadly, I won’t be returning.

The property was beautiful, well maintained and clean. The rooms were starting to show age but it is a hot humid place and the wear and tear is to be expected. Food was fantastic, we did eat only at the restaurants (not fans of buffets) we were a large group (8 ppl) and had no problem being accommodated at the restaurants. one of the WORST resort I have ever been - I stay in Hard Rock Punta Cana 3 nights and Finest Punta Cana 3 nights : Hard Rock might be 7/10 but Finest is 2-3/10. First day I got in I fell 2 times at night at the Lobby, damage my left knee (cartilage) the mop the floor with soap so slippery without putting the Caution / Wet Floor on (it was mid night) - I talk to the front desk to check camera but they did not do it - only the last day the property manager come to say sorry. They said they have 11 or 12 restaurants but they only open simultaneously 4 or 5 daily (they dont have enough customers or staff to operate all 12 restaurants). The door in my room got error we have to be locked outside almost an hour calling staffs and going back to lobby to talk to them since calling on the phone take forever. Restaurants staffs is fine but Front desk seem to slow and if you give them couple dollars they will be quicker and more attentive

Had the most amazing stay at Finest Punta Cana! From the second we arrived, the staff treated us like absolute family. A huge shoutout to the front desk team, the housekeeping staff, the restaurant servers, and the amazing pool and beach teams who took such good care of us. Overall, had a wonderful time. The private chef for the romantic birthday dinner was phenomenal. I enjoyed all the food he prepared, compliments to the chef. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and attended to on a daily basis, the swim up pool was so nice.

I can’t thank Finest enough for another amazing birthday and vacation. This is our fourth time coming and the grounds, restaurant and room are as wonderful as ever.

Besides the amazing food and amenities, what really sets this resort apart from the rest is the people. We were helped by some truly special staff, many who know us from years before. My husband is blind and they go above and beyond to assist him and make him feel comfortable.

I want to thank the following staff:

1. Luis- our driver, had a birthday drink and flowers ready for me when we arrived. He has driven us 3 years in a row and is truly a special man!
2. Ruth- at the Kids Club (and all the Kids Club ladies) took amazing care of our daughter and even had her make me a painting to take home for my birthday.
3. Alexander, Wilkinson and Daniella at the Smoothie bar. Took EXCELLENT care of us and made amazing drinks.
4. Flor- at the sweets shop, we absolutely love her and she goes out of her way to say hi to us every year.
5. Wendy- from mini bar service, always knew exactly what we wanted and kept our fridge stocked.
6. BOTH Ricardo and Ricardito at the beach restaurant always gave us an amazing experience especially on my birthday.
7. Yudelky- at the pool, made us feel relaxed and comfortable by the pool bringing us amazing food and drinks.

I am beyond grateful to have had another exceptional trip at Finest. We plan to come back next year for the 5th time!

The food was very good. Hotel is very aesthetically pleasing. I rated helpfulness of staff low because majority did not speak English hence unable to help. In addition they failed to make an explain to people that come to the resort that the people who sell excursions by the beach are not affiliated with them. I was scammed out of $110 by one of these beach sellers. His name is Claudio and his phone number I communicated with him on was +1 (849) 210-5585. AVOID HIM AT ALL COST. when I talked to staff about this all they could tell me was that the beach is public place so these people are legally allowed to sell there. I didn’t realize that people can commit fraud in front of your property and you could not do anything about it. I guess that’s the difference between America and these other countries.

Our stay in Punta Cana was extremely disappointing and far below our expectations.

The resort was overcrowded, making it difficult to enjoy any of the facilities. One of the biggest issues was the number of mosquitoes everywhere, especially inside the room. We were constantly being bitten throughout our stay.

To make matters worse, we found a large spider inside our room and a wasp nest near our private pool area, which raised serious safety concerns, especially while traveling with a young child.

The children’s pool areas did not appear to be properly maintained or sanitized. During our stay, my daughter contracted Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease, which was extremely stressful for our family. While no resort can completely prevent viruses, the overall cleanliness and hygiene standards in the children’s areas were concerning.

One particularly alarming incident occurred when maintenance staff decided to clean the children’s pool during the middle of the day while children were actively swimming in it. They were pouring chemicals, including acid and cleaning detergents, into the pool while families were using it. This was shocking and unacceptable from a health and safety perspective.

Additionally, the shower in our room clogged twice. The water overflowed and flooded into the hallway, creating an inconvenience that should not happen in a resort of this category.

Overall, the resort showed poor maintenance, questionable sanitation practices, and a lack of attention to guest

The resort is wonderful and well maintained but the greatest part of it is the staff. They really make an effort to accommodate and anticipate any needs and are super kind and dedicated to take care of customers. Since day 1, the front desk was very kind and diligent in switching rooms so we could be closer to each other. The resort has many restaurants all worth trying. I stayed at the resort with a large group of friends and family ages between 5 and 70. It is really fit for everyone, all ages. The kids had a great time at the pool and the adults were always taken care of by the waiters -a special thank you to Yudelki who kindly took care of all of us. We had a large group with kids so we were constantly needing something, either food or drinks so big thank you to her for her patience and great attitude and Christian and the bodyguards for keeping an eye on us. Also the buffet was awesome, Edison and all the people in the grill for breakfast: thank you. The room service and cleaning staff were awesome. They took care of the rooms promptly and helped us find items the kids had misplaced (ingrid? I think it was her name). Big thank you to Louis, the tour guy that helped us book activities (snorkeling etc) last minute. The girls at the Kids club, Esdras, Winy and two other nice ladies, were phenomenal. The kids are well taken care of and the place was neat and organized. Again, the resort is great but the staff is what really make this place a great family vacation resort.

From the moment we arrived, the beautiful property and exceptional staff made our stay unforgettable. We were welcomed with cool towels and champagne, and everyone was so friendly and kind. Mary was our amazing beach server, Ambar and Anny made the best frappes at the Sweet Corner, and Fran was such a warm hostess at Market Kitchen. Juan even surprised our daughter with a birthday cake while the staff sang to her! Honestly, EVERY staff member was amazing!

The resort was spotless, and you could always see staff cleaning and maintaining the property. We loved Duke’s Lobster & Seafood for both the delicious food and beachfront location. The bartenders and beach concierge were fantastic! The concierge quickly learned our favorite spot and had our preferred cabana set up and ready before we even arrived each day.

There were many great restaurant options, and most staff spoke English very well. The resort app was also incredibly helpful for restaurant information, menus, and all resort amenities—even a pillow menu! We also enjoyed an amazing 100-minute massage at the spa.

Security regularly patrolled the beach, which made us feel very safe. Vendors were respectful and left quickly if we declined. We stayed 10 days and loved every minute. We highly recommend Finest Punta Cana Excellence Collection and cannot wait to return!

It was our first time staying at an excellence resort and we were so impressed! The food was really great, such as the hibachi, steak house and seafood and lobster lunch spot. Also, drinks 10/10. My favorite bartender was Wilson who was at the pool bar in the adults only section.

My husband was telling the waiter staff it was my bday and they went out of their way to accommodate me and make me feel special. Another shout to to Alexander the beachside waiter. Brought me a cake while I was on the beach.

I did a four night stay at the finest resort and it was amazing. Perfect getaway if you’re looking for one. The service was amazing, the spa was great. I always had a drink in hand. The food was a solid 8 out of 10. We were never hungry in those restaurants were surprisingly good. The beach was clean. They did a great job with keeping the seaweed off the beach. The staff was great at entertaining the guests and keeping us engaged in activities that they held on the property. Everything was just great about this hotel. Every time I stay in Punta Cana, it will be at this resort. And if you have more to splurge on the suite with the personal pool, do it! This resort was the definition of luxury.

I have been to finest hotel in Cancun so we had some expectations already but they went above and beyond here. I don't think I lie if I say for every 3 guests there is one person working there (at least this is what I felt). staff are all working hard with a nice and welcoming smile and all are very eager to help and serve you. tons of activities for all age groups starting morning until late night. everyday something new and interesting. many restaurants with good food and friendly staff. from check-in (Xisca) to check-out (Ramon), bartender in main lobby (Fedor) and many others that unfortunately I forgot their name, everyone is nice, helpful and enjoy what they do. on top of all (Jimena Aranda) was the lovely manager who made our trip even more memorable and enjoyable. there is a really STRONG team working in this huge facility and I have to say thank you all and well done 👌

We had a truly horrific stay at Finest Punta Cana. My husband got an extreme case of food poisoning that led to him having sepsis. After calling the front desk and others at guest services for 2 1/2 hours, we finally got care from the on-site Doctor Who was only able to check his temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate. They ultimately sent my husband to a hospital, nearly an hour away, claiming that they were the best in the region and spoke English. He was supposed to only get fluids and return that night and will ultimately have spent at least two nights there requiring us to rebook flights at a significant expense on top of the near $5000 hospital bill. We met several other families who were dealing with illnesses many of whom were suspecting it was from the food and across the board the hotel was a little support. I really enjoyed my stay at the Finest! The staff was very friendly and helpful! The drinks were great, but the food was not the best but I didn’t expect amazing food at an all inclusive resort. We had some trouble to start with them giving us the wrong room but it was quickly fixed. All together the trip was amazing and the property is absolutely beautiful!

We had a good stay overall. The staff was definitely the best part of the experience everyone was friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our trip. The property itself was nice and relaxing, and the pools and beach areas were enjoyable. The room was comfortable, but cleanliness and upkeep could have been better in some areas, which is why I gave 4 stars overall. Food and drinks were decent with good variety. Overall, it was a nice vacation spot and we enjoyed our time there.

There was a mistake in the booking and they charged me 600 dollars extra for something that could’ve been easily dealt with and gave me a different room then I wanted I called there manager and yet nothing was done. Food definitely needs to be updated the room service menu is very small and very small portions, the food isn’t that good I book with excellence always and this will be the last time I ever book with them

If you are a couple with no children, I would highly suggest selecting an Excellence Club room. It is 100% worth it with the private check in as well as the select areas that are adults only. Pool was amazing and all the bar staff around the property were great, service was wonderful (Mary, Jerinco, Antonio, Wilson, Rony, Orlando, Victor)!!! The guys in charge of entertainment around the property (Javier, Xavier, Christian) were so fun and friendly. For our first all inclusive it was a memorable experience and we have totally caught the bug! I think this place is perfect for families and couple alike.

Beautiful Resort! However, the first day our room had a very bad smell, we notified front desk representative of the issue and we were moved to an upgraded room at midnight. This is a Family hotel kid-friendly resort with adult only accommodations on one side. If you don’t select adult only at time of reservation you will be provided with a room on the family side with all the guests with small children. All shows are for Families, no adults only shows. You will party with the families and their children. The spa is nice but very expensive, the staff was really nice.

Pool water wasn’t clean and had birds poops and food quality wasn’t great and 6 of the 11 that traveled there got GI related sickness including an 18 month old child that we had to take to the hospital ER upon landing back home for high fever, throw up and diarrhea.
Meat quality was bad and we had to wait about an hour and half one day for dinner to be served.

I was very disappointed with the current state of the facilities. The water quality was poor, and bird droppings were visible throughout the area. To make matters worse, the ice cream has noticeably declined in quality compared to last year—even my daughter didn't want to finish hers.

I accidentally booked on the Family side instead of the adults-only section (did not travel with children) but I still had a really great experience. It was very peaceful, the staff was incredibly attentive, and the food was better than expected at several spots, especially the buffet and the Brass steakhouse. I would definitely recommend staying here and could easily see myself coming back.

Finest Punta Cana is the best resort experience we have had in the Dominican Republic to date. The resort is well maintained, with a wide variety of amenities. The staff was always courteous, and friendly. The food was great, with a wide variety available. The experience was thoroughly enjoyed by both of us.
