We spent 7 days with our 3.5 year old toddler and 7 month old baby at Finest Punta Cana in March 2026. Highlights included the beautiful beach, pools, and drinks. There was lots to do and we never felt bored. Our toddler had an absolute blast playing in the pools, building sand castles, and dancing at the live music shows. The food was better than we’d expected. We felt the buffet food could be improved, but we really enjoyed all the meals we had at the restaurants. The check-in process was a bit confusing and it took longer than we would’ve liked to get our room, but overall the service was good. Staff checked in with us regularly to ask if there was anything we needed and followed up promptly on our requests. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would recommend, especially to families with young children.

Well where do I begin? It was a frustrating experience in the beginning; however on our way towards the end of our stay we started warming up to the place.

Our flight arrived before check-in time. We reached out to see if there was any possibility of having an early check-in and they told us they would do their best to see if it were possible. I understand if not totally understandable but we got to the hotel at 12:00 in the afternoon. We were told there were no rooms ready but they would have one available shortly. I don't remember her name but she had indicated that we would be able to get into our room earlier than check-in time.

An hour passes by and we are told roughly around 2:00 p.m. that they were still cleaning the room and putting on the finishing touches at 3:00 p.m. It's now officially check-in time. My wife and I are frustrated because why tell us we would be able to check in early when it wasn't ready? Just be honest and say you don't have any rooms ready until 3:00 p.m. Check-in at 3:30 p.m. comes along; still no updates so we have to go to the desk to inquire about the status of our room. We're told 10 more minutes. Next we're dealing with another guy because the lady had left and didn't tell anyone about our situation. The guy who was helping us next had no idea and said he would check on the status of the room he

My family and I enjoyed our stay at The Finest Punta Cana. The reviews made me nervous but I’m glad I decided to give this property a try. We stayed in a swim up suite and it was perfect. What stood out during our visit was the customer service. The staff was excellent and very attentive. We saw Javier everyday and he made sure we were aware of all daily activities and he was very helpful and friendly with my entire family. Wellington and team at the beach was outstanding. He made sure we were taking care of during our cabana rental or at any seat we had on the beach. The drinks stayed flowing and food service was great. We highly recommend this resort if you want luxury and excellent customer service. The staff is the main reason we would return again. The food could use more seasonings but it was not terrible. I think they should have more salt and pepper available to use. The food pools were clean and my 8 year old had a blast and made friends. Pool chairs were easy to find. We are planning on coming back really soon. We came skeptical and left as family. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful beach with palm trees, palapas, and cabanas. We stayed on the adult side every day. Great pool with a swim-up bar. The water was warm and so pretty. We loved the variety of restaurants. Lunch was nice by the ocean with two options. The breakfast buffet was decent, and the room service was great. We loved having our own personal jucuzi on the deck and two places to lounge, along with a table and 2 chairs. Both the room and bathroom were very spacious and clean.

The resort was beautifully maintained, the staff made the experience even more memorable! The food was great with many different options, some of the main buffet food were a little too overcooked(in my opinion). The only downside was the extremely warm pools. We wished the pools were slightly more cooler to be considered refreshing. We also reserved a king bed and were given two double beds which was disappointing because my husband and I were on a vacation alone. Looking for pool towels was hard most days as well. But overall we would visit again!

We truly enjoyed our stay here. Staff is very attentive and friendly. The rooms were very clean and the amenities were great quality. We stayed at the accommodation with the private roof top pool and it was stunning. AC was great, no dampness in the room. Giant terrace! The excellence club pool was so, so quiet it was lovely. No issues ever getting a shaded area on the beach either as we had the excellence club section. Very well staffed! Getting food was very easy + having it brought to you on the beach was awesome. Responsive and happy room service! Be particular about your drinks as they are usually doubles and triples. The food was good, better then Cuba for sure, but nothing fancy. We were only there for 3 nights so didn’t eat at every restaurant.

I really hate to give this resort a 1 star.

The room was not cleaned at all upon arrival. Our room smelled like mold the whole time there. I asked several times in 1 day to have the room cleaned and sheets changed. 9 hours later, no sheets changed, no cleaning in our room, and no towels.

The food was terrible. Not worth it. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I was concerned the service was going to be spotty. My prior experience in Punta Cana was that the staff are generally meh...while they'll help you, it won't always be with a smile. And that's okay...I'm not owed a smile all the time. But when you spend a big wad, you are kind of paying for some smiles. My concerns were stupid...the service at Finest PC was even better than we received at Playa Mujeres. I didn't believe it could be possible, but alas, here I am writing one of my few reviews. Everything was great, except the honey mustard. No lie. That's literally the only complaint from my family of 11 very boughetto travelers. LOL. We are foodies and germaphobes wo insist on traveling. Haha! To understand the delusion, out next trip will be a cruise! A floating petri dish that we will board intentionally. I digress...Finest is the spot for our kind, hands down. They clean before you can dirty. You thought you were gonna slurp down the end of that pina colada, but nope. They already took the glass and brought a new fresh one while you blinked ever so quickly. Dinner service was superior - they know us and what we like. They didnt need to be told every single little common sense thing. If we were all talking and engaged, they just started bringing table apps. I appreciate that kind of intuitive service. The kids didnt have to say \"virgin\" each and every time. We all had finest club, but that's because of the need\" for a menu at breakfast. Otherwise, there's no need for club.

Overall the facilities and staff were Excellent!! Great variety of food/restaurants. I would highly recommend this resort.

The steaks are a bit tough. If you want your steaks well done say you want it very well done or you will end up with a medium rare. For those from the U.S., clam chowder at the resort was not Boston or New England style. The chowder was brown and reminded more of fish soup served in France. Beware of the excursion coordinators even if they claim to work for the resort. They will squeeze whatever money they can out of you and the prices they charge do not match what is on the excursion price list they show. The mark-up can be $20+ and the excursion seller will claim it is to cover transportation cost. Look into booking excursions directly with Expedia or an on-line service called Viator. Additionally, excursion sellers will charge you depending on how gullible you are and/or how willing you are to give your money away. For example, for the same horseback riding excursion my wife and me were charged $80 each, a group of young women were charge $85 each, and another couple we knew got charge $105 each. I still think we got ripped off, but on the bright side it was less than what the others paid. We got charged less because we told the seller that we heard his sales pitch to the others he charged more.
I used Seasons Transfers to go to/from the airport. I give them a ONE star rating and that is being generous based on our experience--HORRIBLE.

I hated to give this place a 1 star review but unfortunately we experienced the staff scamming us on our last day and that turns any review 1 star. Said he will not provide us for shadow if he did not book them. So we booked an airport transfer shuttle through Expedia. Our shadow was supposed to arrive at 11 AM and last day take us back to the airport. we were still waiting at 11:50 called the shuttle service and they said security refused to let them. We questioned the bellhops and they changed their story 3 times. Later we found out this resort has been having an issue where they do this then force you to pay for a taxi which they get commission on from
The taxi company. They told us credit is fine to pay. At the airport the driver said cash only so i had to then find an atm. We nearly missed our flight.

The hotel layout is perfect for a family vacation, allowing for different ages to enjoy the day together. The main pool has the deeper end with a bar where adults hang out, but it’s connected to the kids pool which has the big bubble where my 6 year old wanted to jump and slide all day long. Right next to this pool is the toddler pool, with a much smaller bubble which was a hit with my 2 year old twins. These pools are also right next to the beach and food trucks, making everything super convenient. Grounds are immaculately maintained. We were there for NYE and even though the hotel was full, we were always able to find chars, daybeds and plenty of fresh towels. Food is average.

I won’t go into excessive detail, but it’s important to set realistic expectations.

We chose The Finest based on its branding and pricing as a five-star luxury resort. While the property has some positive aspects, our experience did not align with five-star standards, particularly in dining, service, and attention to detail.

The food was underwhelming. Despite multiple restaurants, menus lacked variety, with identical desserts across venues. The buffet was average and comparable to standard all-inclusive resorts.

Service felt mostly reactive rather than proactive. We also experienced an issue with a tour booked through a company the hotel works with; while it is a third-party service, the hotel did not actively assist in resolving the situation, which took longer than expected. Additionally, our room had a persistent shower leak that required towels on the floor daily—an issue that should not occur at this price point.

This resort may suit travelers seeking a mid-range all-inclusive, but those expecting a true five-star experience may be disappointed

We had an excellent stay at this hotel for New Year’s Eve. From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. The room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, making our stay feel special and relaxing.

The pools and resort upkeep were great. The staff were hit or miss - considerable amount of staff had difficulty communicating in English, I visited finest in Cancun and the enthusiasm and professionalism of the staff in this location doesn’t compare. There were a couple of exceptions but by and large the staff service was not inspiring. The food was disappointing. In the Mercato while there was great quantity the quality, flavor and presentation was poor. The a lacarte restaurants were hit or miss. The French restaurant was embarrassing - we couldn’t get past the appetizers as the lobster served was like a piece of rubber and the so called fois gras when we did find the tiny spec in the midst of layers of greenery wasn’t even enough for me to determine if it was food gras. Surf and Turf was by far the best restaurant but it’s only opened 3 days a week. It feels like Finest has been cutting corners when I compare to my experience in finest in Cancun.

Staff were all fantastic!! Especially want to thank Lelena at breakfast and lunch buffet. Always having a table and welcoming us everyday. Yeytson at the beach reserving chairs for all of us everyday and bringing us drinks.
One thing that should be improved is the dinner reservations. When we checked in they said it was first come first serve but it was a different story once we went to eat at one of the specialty restaurants. Apparently, reservations can be made for every night from the lobby desk. I recommend even booking ahead of the trip so that you can get the Japanese hibachi. All in all it was a great trip.

The facility is new and nice. The resort has many restaurants but most of them has suboptimal of food. Not taking reservation is also not a great idea IMHO. The same brand hotel in Cancun allows me to order anything from room service, but this one has limited items. When I asked for a diet coca with my lunch, they asked me to call mini bar separately...

A resort named Finest should reflect excellence. Unfortunately, our experience was among the poorest we have encountered.

While the property itself is attractive, the front desk staff and overall customer service were severely lacking. For a resort that markets itself as 5-star, the absence of basic customer empathy, accountability, and follow-through was shocking.

Our issues began at check-in. We booked through Expedia and were told we would receive a room upgrade. Instead, we were given worse accommodations—one king room and one double room instead of the two king rooms originally booked.

For three consecutive days, I complained because I did not receive basic housekeeping services, i.e. room cleaning and duvet covers. Each day I was assured the issues would be addressed. They were not. By the third day, nothing had been done. This level of neglect is unacceptable for a 5-star resort.

I asked to speak with a supervisor on two of those days. Promises were made to resolve the issues, but they proved largely empty—some items were partially addressed, others ignored entirely. I then requested to speak with a manager and was told someone would contact me. No manager ever did.

By day four, I stopped trying.

To be fair, Javier and Jeremi from the activities team were exceptional. They treated our family with warmth and professionalism and were the highlight of our stay.

Based on our experience, this will be our last visit to this property and any Finest/Excellence resort!

Service was incredible, very well maintained resort, house keeping comes twice a day. Beach is cleared daily for seaweed. Food was excellent. You can go to à la cart every night however no reservations can be way can be made as sometimes there is a half hour to 45 minute wait recommend to get ready a bit earlier. I went second week of December and found that the beach was very clean. Weather was grade 27/ 28 degrees every day however we did find the ocean a little bit with currents.& choppy waters.
Would come back again and recommend the hotel to anyone.

Everything is good; rooms to pools. Staff is courteous and very helpful. Food and drinks were good as well. Best part 24/7 room service.
