Quiet location on a street just 10 minute walk from the Duomo. Basic room had limited view as shutters were blocked by scaffolding. However, just grab your (paid) breakfast and pop up to the rooftop terrace with fantastic views of Duomo, Palazzo Vecchia, etc.

We paid online then had to pay again upon arrival? Room was small, no mini fridge in room. Had to ask for air conditioning to be turned on in room each night. Bath room very small, had a leak under sink they had to fix while we were away. Not what we expected in a hotel stay, UNLIKE the Maiori property we stayed, in Amalfi area.

It is within the Limited Transit Zone so if you drive you have to use a garage service or get fined so add EUR30 to your bill per night automatically. This area of Florence does not have signs screaming at you when you enter the Zone so once you are in your only choice is a EUR90 fine or the garage. If I knew this detail I would have looked for a hotel outside such zones.

You get what you pay for. Location was perfect! Close to the everything. McDonald’s is really close by. We didn’t have hot water or a working tv. We were only there 2 days so we made it work. But it was not easy. There was an elevator and they did hold our luggage for the day.

I had no idea the front desk would be on a floor other than street level, which meant it took a while to actually find it two floors up. The staff seemed charming as was the decor. The room was comfortable and clean. Exterior construction meant some noise and a scaffold outside my less than panoramic view window. Odd. Is the view only on the roof during breakfast? I never made it up there. Coffee bar 24/7 unless you want coffee at 7:30 am. Mysterious. I didn't want coffee at the 8:00 breakfast. I didn't want breakfast at all. I just wanted coffee at the unreasonable hour of 7:30 am. Lastly, when my passport is at the front desk because that's the law, wouldn't it be cool if someone were behind the desk, or at least the passports were secured somewhere. ANYONE can walk around and take anything they want because having someone at the desk at all times is just absurd.
Lastly, one charming friendly face on the afternoon of 18 June made the visit positive for me. so, thanks for that conversation, also thanks for the lovely artworks throughout the 2nd floor. - sincerely, Frank O.

Major building works in progress outside, noise started at 07:30 and was like trying to sleep on the runway at Heathrow (wont allow us to upload video!). Shutters removed without warning allowing workmen on scaffold to have unrestricted views into room. Desk staff shoulder shrugged.
Overall not great; decor very, very tired. Aimed for arty, missed badly.
Description on website misleading.
Would not recommend.

A bit dingy but fabulous location and great staff

Tired and dated, it could use a coat of fresh paint. I did appreciate the funky art and homey touches, though. Room was the smallest I have ever slept in but the bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and super helpful and the location was unbeatable. Breakfast was varied and generous. I would stay again.

The property condition and amenities were disproportionately poor compared to the daily rate we paid. Including city taxes we paid just under USD 800 for three nights. The condition of the room, the lighting, the beds, the mattresses, the bathroom, the hot water pressure etc. was bare bones at best. My family and I were completely unprepared for what we encountered.

On the plus side, the front desk staff was courteous and professional and housekeeping was on schedule.

But the room itself was definitely a reminder that pictures on Expedia and the daily rates were a poor predictor of what we actually experienced.

Overall very good area, you have access to all the areas in city center in walking distance from hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Specially, I had lots of question regarding my plan for renting a car and traveling to Cinque Terre and he answered all of them and helped where I could park after coming back from trip. The property was old but cosy and quite. The only complain I have is that the shower needed repair that they did nothing and we put a temporary fix on it. Also, they did not give us new or clean towels and we had to use the older ones we used the day before. But overall, it was a good experience and I recommend this hote.

The hotel was located very close to the old city which was very good . The staff nice and welcoming . The only problem was the parking which not stayed in advance the cost of parking which was very expensive
35 Euro per night . The hotel for not tell us on advanced that we need to pay for the parking only when we arrived . When we arrived the car we had enough fuel for 790 km and when we got the car back it stste only 500km which mean that the guys in the garage drive with our caf we hope we wss visit the City . W Ed hope that we will not have other suprise in the future

We almost missed this hotel! The sign was so small and if you carry your suitcases you may not notice the hotel.

We brought with us a standard European adaptor (we used it in France, Spain, etc.) but it didn't work in all the wall sockets except one in this hotel room. I could see the pins holes on the sockets were a bit smaller than the pins on our converter!

Really likes this hotel as it was close to the historic attractions, but just far enough away to be quiet. We enjoyed the breakfast and having access to the terrace. The hotel is full of art, which means we always had something to admire in the hallways. The staff was very kind to all of us.

Amazing find in the middle of Florence.

What an amazing place! So close to the centre but still quiet and away from busy tourists. It was a classic Italian hotel with lovely original decor and my view of Florence and the cathedral was incredible. Best view I’ve ever had from a room. Breakfast was also in a conservatory room so glass all round and the view was fantastic. What a great place. When I left it was raining and 4.30am and the wonderful man at the desk offered me his umbrella - amazing service!!!!

The room was small but also cozy. The hotel is located within walking distance of all the major museums and architectural marvels, assuming you can and like to walk.For everybody else, there are taxis for the short ride needed to get to the sights. My room was on the 3rd floor and the breakfast room on the 4th, with the elevator out of operation at the time of my visit. The Hotel lobby is on the 2nd floor (1st floor for our European friends). So, there are steps every time you enter or leave.(Florence is overrun with steps at all of the attractions, so be prepared.)

Breakfast was filling and served in a wonderful room with a nice view of Florence. Would have liked hash browns or fried potatoes but got by just fine with what was offered.

The staff is wonderful and really helpful.They keep the place clean and spruce it up with artwork from a local artist. If I visit Florence again, I will stay at this hotel!

Took about half an hour to check in because they seemed to be unable to operate their own computer system and kept stopping serving me to serve other people despite the fact that I had been there first and had been waiting a very long time; lack of cleanliness and extremely outdated and scruffy furnishings; there was no hot water and when I mentioned this to reception they didn’t even reply - just nodded and continued, no apology or effort made to sort this out. Terrible - very glad I was only there one night, will definitely not be going back, and do not recommend to others!

Ok, but only that.

Hotel Panorama is an ok hotel quite close to the main sights of Florence. However, much is left to be desired. The entrance is a dark stairwell (or miniscule elevator), leading into a reception/bar area more akin to hostels. Our room was not a place we wanted to spend any time in, the light source is a bare light bulb, and half of the walls are painted mud brown. The beds might be the hardest ones we've ever slept in at a hotel.

The bathroom door had no lock - which really is fine - but it didnt even have any door latch, making it possible to open the door just by brushing up against it slightly. There were also ants in the bathroom.

The terrace is small, but has nice views over the town, as does the breakfast area. The terrace however feels a bit abandoned, with the straw roof falling down in places.

On the plus side, there is AC, and the staff is nice. This is an OK hotel to sleep in a few nights, if your standards aren't that high and you don't plan on spending any time at the hotel other than sleeping.

very charming and vintage hotel, property is dated but I like how it is being maintained well. love the view from my room and even the bathroom/toilet has a big window overlooking the cathedral dome, it's a little weird multitasking - doing your business while appreciating the view at the same time. there is also a rooftop terrace where a nice top view of the historic city can be seen. breakfast is simple, nothing fancy, just basic stuff you need to get yourself going through the morning. staff are kind and very accommodating. nice experience. will recommend and come back next time I visit Florence again.

Half of a ceiling tile was missing in the bathroom and I’m not really sure what was up with that. Also found some hairs around the bathroom. The bed was fine, not super comfortable but not uncomfortable and the linens and towels were clean. Front desk was nice. Overall it was okay.

Very old hotel in the old town.
Though there is a lift (very old), it's too small for luggage. Sometimes didn't work and had to carry the suitcase to the second floor.
No parking; Had to pay additional 26 Eur per day for parking.
Shower room was in very average condition.

Only good thing is it's in the centre of the city.

The view to the cathedral was great. But we did late check in and the receptionist was not friendly at all but he did his work. The other person who came on the midnight shift was much nicer. The distance was quite disappointing as on their page it was advertised as if they’re in the muddle if the action. While it’s a short 10 mins to the cathedral the hotel is located in an isolated area away from all the actions. Had I known I would’ve booked a much nicer hotel for that vicinity. The room felt very old & extremely basic. I felt like I was in some cheap country felt like a hostel more than anything not what I wanted to experience for this gorgeous city if Florence. The shower has an old unappealing shower curtain. The AC made a whistling sound the hotel couldn’t fix. Breakfast was very basic not so tasty eggs but cheese & croissants were good. Coffee was so poor. In all I would not stay here again.

Amazing views! Our room had a balcony with spectacular views over the rooftops of Florence and our to the duomo. The staff were very helpful and available 24/7 at the desk. It’s located just around the corner from galleria del academia (where David is), cafes and carefours (less than 10 minute walk). 10-15 minute walk to the duomo.

We had a great stay! It is very centrally located- perfect for walking! We were concerned about the car and parking, but they were great. We called- the parking is extra, however well worth not having to worry about while there. The views from the terrace are fantastic! We enjoyed breakfast for an extra €5 for the 4 of us...cheaper than anywhere else and hot! Loved it and would stay there again if possible.

The position of the hotel was ideal, with a superb view of the roof tops of Florence, and the Duomo from the roof terrace and a 10 minute walk from the Duomo. The owners were very welcoming, friendly and helpful and our room and bathroom were comfortable and clean. Breakfast, for €7.00, was substantial and the coffee delicious. I'd definitely stay there again. A very minor downside is that there's traffic noise - but in the centre of Florence that's too be expected. A great little hotel.

Pleased with the location and the ease of check-in. Air-conditioning wasn't working and the room was quite humid. I was also unlucky in that this led to me sleeping with the window slightly open and getting numerous mosquito bites. Otherwise service was more or less fine and the breakfast was suitable for a 3 star hotel (though it would be better to have the option of eating before 8am for business travellers).

If you like a hotel full of character, this could be perfect for you. It's full of good art, the staff are really helpful and there's a terrace with a great view of the Duomo. The one thing I missed was a kettle in my room, but that's because I'm a Brit. The location was ideal for me as I have family living on the No. 7 bus route to Fiesole.

We were a little disappointed with the size of our room and the lack of storage space provided (tiny wardrobe!) and tiny shower. Also a bedside lamp with no plug attached!! However the friends we travelled with had a much larger room. The artwork everywhere was quirky but a bit tired looking. Breakfast is more than adequate. Hotel is in a good position for all the main attractions and has a roof terrace with a lovely view of the Duomo and adjoining lounge to sit and have a drink in the evening. Reception staff were helpful.

The hotel is clean and conveniently located. Rooms and decor are basic and quite old and tacky. The whole place could do with a coat of paint and modernisation (even low cost). Breakfast is not plush - quite basic but fresh. The best thing about the hotel is its staff. Lovely, gentle, considerate, respectful and so very nice. Without doubt absolutely the best people in the service industry we met during our 2 weeks stay in Italy.

Excellent staff, clean and quiet room, excellent location. Mediocre breakfast at €7 wasn’t worth it, even with a nice view from dining area. Take a quick walk to the market for a much better breakfast.

Old hotel but well located

The hotel is on the top floors of an apartment building and is well located to the many attractions and railway station. The breakfast was basic but Ok.

Everything is walkable in Florence. Very nice and artistic hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful.

It was overall pleasing. Obviously not a 5 star hotel but it did the job. The room and bathroom were always clean when I got back at night. The staff at the desk were always helpful with directions and calling taxi. I loved it.
