My room was older with fixtures from another decade. However the room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the shower hot. The breakfast offered had many offerings. I did wish for a drinking glass in my room. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.

Very nice hotel in downtown Santiago. Close to tourist attractions. Very walkable area.
The roombI had was 312 and it was really nice. A comfortable bed, quiet, refrigerator, safe and a nice walk in shower.
Breakfast was delicious. The restaurant at the hotel was very nice for dinner. Inexpensive and really good food. I will stay here again

The main issue is that the rooms have a lot of short coming - water does not drain, We had a air conditioner leaking water in the room and mattresses moving easily etc. I must say the front desk staff was outstanding, Extremely helpful in trying to sort out our concerns. Plus for any help we needed, Taxi, directions, tours etc, always willing to help. With all the issues - would definitely stay there again as its very centrally located.

The room was on the side that goes to a strip outside where there are beggers all day and night drinking and making a party all night. Very noisy.
The shower was terrible. No water pressure and it had a old curtain the water pile up as if the drainage was plug so we had to take a very quick shower so the water didn't go into the bathroom

Very nice staff and comfortable bed. Room was a great size. Would have been perfect but the ac was not quite strong enough for the high outdoor temp. It wasn’t terrible it just needed to be slightly cooler. Overall would stay again. Location is superb.

My overall experience was okay. I found that the staff weren’t able to help with a lot of things such as English was not as great. They were very rude and unhelpful a lot of the times. The front desk was always over crowded with guests checking in which made it hard to ask for services.

I found better hotels around the area with greater service. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel personally if you don’t speak English.

The breakfast was very simple as for a 4 star I expected more options. Also the breakfast options don’t change during the weekdays. So it’s the same all the time.

It is a shame that this hotel is too noisy

I would really like to give 5 stars to this hotel for its location, kindness of every person in service, breakfast, cleanness. However, this is not a hotel to rest after a day busy day at all. It is extremely noisy. There is no way that you can sleep or rest at night.

Room is big but noisy (from next door and above rooms, lots of dragging of furniture). Room has no kettle boiling facility nor any cups for drinking of your own water or brushing of teeth.
Happy hour drinks (2-for-1) are only for drinks marked in a certain color (scanned via QR code) which is not obvious or highlighted to English speaking clients.
However the hotel is very close to metro station and walkable to main streets making it a convenient base.

The rooms are OK, but it is noticeable that they last a renovation a long time ago—the heating/air conditioning system changes according to the season. I had to endure a sweltering room in the fall because the city temperature was still high, but the air conditioning no longer worked, only the heating. I suggest the hotel entrepreneurs install ceiling fans to have an alternative on hot autumn/winter days, as the heat seeps in even opening all the windows, which makes the room even noisier.
Breakfast is OK, has variety, and the dining area is lovely.
The hotel is located in an area that has become very noisy and unsafe at night. During the day, there is a lot of noise from public transportation, a neighboring gymnasium, and street vendors and street performers working close to the hotel.
The hotel has a strict 3 pm check-in time. I arrived at 8 am and had to pay for a full day to get a room from that time. The price for that extra day was higher than the Expedia price.

The district shuts down by 8pm so if you're looking for night life go somewhere else. The room is what it is and its fine. My biggest issue was that i had an early morning flight was told that my cab would be waiting for me in the lobby when i checked out to take me to the airport. There was no cab waiting for me and it was stressful when trying to catch a flight.

Fundador Close to Old City Center

While in no ways outstanding, overall this hotel is OK. The room size and condition varies significantly even in the same price category. I stayed at the hotel multiple times in the course of three weeks while I was working in the Santiago area, and had dramatically different rooms each time. The first room was very spacious and clean, while subsequent stays yielded smaller rooms each time - the last with marginally functional plumbing.

The concierge is not that helpful. i join a group that would meet up the next day at this hotel. When I ask the concierge if they know about the meeting or if the company has left the message for me, he just answered that he didn't know and not trying to help. When I came back in the evening, they just put a mail of the travel company under my door but not informed me. The room is ok but no hair dryer. There is a mini frigo but nothing inside. The air conditioner is kinda noisy.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. I was in room 701, tiny room; lots of humidity and the curtains were full of dust. I suffer from allergies, I came back to the United States sick, literally I had to go to the doctor; because of the mites. I will never ever stay in this hotel again.

Well Located hotel in the Centre of Santiago, close to subway, buses and main attractions in the Centre. Hotel a little dated, however clean, well maintained and with friendly staff who have good english. Everything about Hotel Fundador was satisfactory except for one. The hot water took several minutes (minutes, not seconds) to get to our room. A large hotel should have a better system of water delivery. Otherwise, we were completely satisfied with the Fundador.
