The area this hotel is located in is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! Just outside, my phone was stolen out of my hand by a man in a motorcycle riding on the sidewalk. Next day, two men attempted to kidnap my teenage daughter. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS AREA. Both incidents happened in broad daylight. Santiago overall according to the locals is a very dangerous city, and this part of town is on the extreme danger zones.

Hotel is not noticeable from the street and after hours easier way to it is closed due to safety. Even thought I used the contact hotel feature days ahead to notify my late arrival and ensure no issues, I never got a reply, and ended calling them when I arrived to the airport. Once I call they were very helpful and to my surprise they are 24 hours open although the description stays different. My uber driver was lost trying to locate them and they where very helpful speaking to him over the phone , to the point of going to the side street to guide us in. We got in very late around 5 am to checkout at 12 noon, they didn’t offer a late checkout but overheard at the reception when getting out a lot of room had late checkout.

Was very handy to transport options. Airport bus no longer stops at Los Heroes it seems which was my main reason for choosing this Hotel but the Republica stop was only 10 minutes walk away so worked out ok. My room was very quiet which is a bonus on this trip. Breakfast was ok, had better had worse.

NOTE: the entrance is confusing to get to, especially after hours, since you need to access the plaza via the walkway at the parking garage entrance in the side street (in a dodgy area). Access from near the metro station is the usual way but this gets gated off at night.

Great location and good value for the room!

It was better than expected! The room was more like a studio apartment with a separate bedroom and living area, whic consisted of a couch, sink, 2 burner stove, oven, microwave, small refrigerator, and dishes silverware and pots and pans. We had a corner room on the 22nd floor with a spectacular view of the city. Breakfast was quite adequate, cosisting of cereal, fruit, yogurt, various cheeses and coldcuts, scrambled eggs, and bread and rolls with a toaster. The only real complaint we had was the shower, which was in a small bathtub with a high side to climb in and out of, and the tub was very slippery.

The hotel is in a good location if you can find it. It was definitely hard to find in the dark the forst time we arrived, but it is close to the sites. The wifi was awful. About 80% of the time, the wifi connection wasnt even giving us a signal. The breakfast was below average with just a boxed lunch.

The cart of the hotel is not working and they don’t have a helper to carry your luggage. The hot water came out in brown color, had just one shampoo tube and one piece of soap. The AC was OK but the auto mode didn’t make the fan to stop when the temperature was cool enough. Clean and comfortable room and good care of the COVID 19 rules. The breakfast is properly located inside of the refrigerator.

Taxis, subway or busses were nearby as was a full supermarket which was helpful as we had a kitchen in our room. Also lots of sights were walkable. Even though they have rooms available staff makes you wait until 3pm for check in. They may save a few dollars in utilities but makes the tired customer very upset. I was for check in at 10am I understood, very early, but i came back around 2pm and still had to wait. I have traveled a lot and most of the hotels let's you check in earlier knowing you are tired .

The pool was not open until December however we had not been made aware of that before arriving and it was the main reason we chose to stay at this hotel. The bathroom floor also had lots of hairs over it, although the rest of the room seemed clean enough. We also found a hair in the fresh chopped fruit at breakfast which was off putting to say the least. Overall a bit of a disappointing experience.

I didn’t realize that the hotel turn off all the lights at 10:30pm to 5:30am for energy saving, I was worried and thought they were out of power, the whole room is black can’t see anything hurt my self twice going to the washroom in the middle of the light. Should advice the customer when check in that they wold shut down the power. I was all worried that it was out of power because the necktie morning I had to go to the airport. At 5:00 am I took the elevator downstairs to the reception and ask for flash light to pack my luggage as soon as the elevator door closed it was dark black couldn’t see anything . I hurt myself again and at 5:30am the lights were on, the hotel should advice us that they turn the power off for the whole building so we would not be worried and did not had a good sleep that day.

Except to say that it was clean & central nothing else outstanding about this hotel! They forgot to tell us that the main gate from street entrance closed at 11pm! Had to go around a side entrance with questionable characters hanging around!
Loved the city itself, surrounded by amazing mountains! but if you can, hire driver to take you out of it to visit wineries! Absolutely wonderful countryside! Won’t regret the extra money it might cost!

Great place to stay in Santiago, Chile.
Very clean and safe to stay. Right beside the building, there is a Large Convenient Store and we could buy wine to fruits. We asked reasonable price restaurant nearby hotel, staff even out of the building to directing us to get there. One problem is we arrived Santiago Airport early in the morning and arrived hotel 9am but the RQ Santiago check-in policy was very strict and we could not check in until 3pm. Fortunately, hotel stored our luggage until 3pm and we could take city tour in Santiago. Thank you for help

The hotel was in a great location. We were not aware that we could buy passes for the Hop on shop off bus at the hotel. We wasted so much time looking for the stops! The hotel was good. Breakfast was great. The room was well used and very tiny. The bathroom fixtures(tap) were all loose. Shower was dangerous to get in and out of. Wifi not very reliable

It's a nice hotel. It's clean and the staff were very helpful. I was traveling with my adult son and together we found the room very small, twin beds but for two of us to move around the room at the same time it was impossible.

The bathroom (also tiny) had a very difficult shower to enter or leave, high risk of slipping and because the fixtures are so close together a fall would give serious results.

The price was reasonable.

It's my second stay at RQ Santiago, without bulky luggage I took airport bus from airport to Los Heroes then just 5 min walk to the hotel. It took similar time as using taxi but cost is just one eighth. There are 2 supermarkets at basement, Central Market is not that far away. I like the cooking facilities inside room so I could prepare some simple meals, there aren't that many restaurants nearby. If I have a chance to come back to Santiago I would definitely consider another stay at RQ Santiago.

Not many of their staff speak English, only 1 side table and chair in the room, have to ask for the cups for tooth brush, housekeeping done as late as 5.30 pm. No bath mat provided, not safe when take shower in tub. The breakfast provided was better than expectation.

Gem of a hotel very near La Moneda in centro

Saturday night stay on 19 November 2016 due to a 20 hour flight layover. Only real challenge was to identify the hotel itself (a short walk north from the sidewalk where taxi left me) but quickly inside and very pleased with staff welcome, guest room, and included breakfast the next morning. 20+ stories up so great views of the city. Room very clean with kitchen, day room with TV, bedroom with double bed, and bathroom with shower. A great bargain! Highly recommended!

Glad Expedia map corrected to show hotel location on north side of Alameda - had been marked on south side which caused me initial confusion on arrival. Thanks Expedia for my memorable stay in Santiago!

OK for overnight stay, but no more than that

I arrived the hotel at 2pm but was told my room was not yet ready. So I went to the supermarket downstairs to buy some necessities. However my room was still not yet ready by the time I returned 30 min later. I had to wait at the reception for 30 min or so. When I got into my room there was a kitchenette which is a bonus however there was no cloth no cleaning materials available which means they are not encouraging guests to use the kitchenette. Also there is no plug in all sinks. Staff's English is very limited even though they are helpful. As it was a Good Friday, most of the attractions were closed and I had an early dinner and returned to the hotel very early. Breakfast was only served at 8am during holiday and I just made it for a quick one before heading to the airport at 8:10am.

Excellent location: metro and bus stop less than 50 meters away; La Moneda is within 2 blocks; bank next door; and 2 grocery stores less than 10 meters walk. Staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. We were provided with good sack lunch when we had to join our tours too early for breakfast.

no internet service that they claim, air conditioning not work well, sink clocks, not 24/7 hotel they close their gate at 10 PM. This is not a star hotel, it is a motel outside highways for truck drivers use. I have a lot of problems on my room. Very expensive for the service, Breakfast horrivelk food

Special Hidden Gem in Santiago

Located in the heart of Downtown Santiago with the Subway close by and shops well with in walking distance. The room had a full kitchen which made things very nice especially with the market right next store. And just with in walking distance of the La Moneda and the exhibits right next to it. If youre wanting to go to Santiago for the culture the food and the architecture this is the place to stay. The staff is exceptional and most at the desk speak English which made things easy. The breakfast was simple but delicious. And the views from the pool where breath taking.

Unfortunately, we got mugged in near the plaza where hotel is going right leaving hotel. To the left is a grocery, drug store, bank, the subway and taxi access. Nice woman at desk. This hotel is on floors 19-22 of office building and has excellent views. First day we paid extra to get in to room 3 hours early. A/c too cold if directly over bed. Breakfast very good. Mixed review but we are returning!

Very convenient and modern hotel

Loved the hotel - it was modern, quiet, convenient and had lovely night virws of the city. Breakfast had a good variety (the best in my entire south america trip) you can take the metro which is just 100m or less from the hotel. You can also walk ard 300-500m fron Los Heroes bus station stop where you can catch the very frequent centropuerto bus to or from the airport (30min, 3000clp return). There is also a large lider supermarket around the corner! I would definitively return to this hotel! (In fact the next hotel i stayed in was so bad i almost returned here but unfortunately no rooms were available then.)

Close to downtown. Staff were very nice.

We got there at 7:30 am from an all night flight, the staff were so nice and let us check in early, when they had a room available! Very helpful staff, spoke English. We returned after 5 days and they had upgraded our room. Breakfast buffet was excellent! Huge burgers, could have split it! Great location to downtown and food!

This hotel is off the beaten path, but next to La Moneda presidential palace and 10-15 minutes from the Plaza de Armas and the Cerro Santa Lucia. Located by Bernardo O'Higgins Avenue is has great location. It is a bit old and you can tell from the bedroom features. Love the 19th floor where they have the buffet breakfast and we used to drink some wine with friends in the evening.

Beautiful Modern Hotel in Old Building

What a surprise the inside of this hotel was. It's in an old building, in an old part of town but the inside is completely modern. Everything is clean and new and comfortable. The staff were great - very helpful and everyone spoke excellent English. The bedding was fabulous. I came here for 2 nights in need of a comfortable rest form my travels and was not disappointed!

Good location for central Santiago

RQ is in a secure compound, close to the Metro, buses and taxis. Although I was unable to find any upscale restaurants nearby, many are within a short taxi ride, and taxis are inexpensive in Santiago. My room was like the cabin on a ship, small but efficient. I was alone, so it didn't matter. The view of the city and mountains from my nineteenth floor room picture window was magnificent. Continental breakfast was complete and pleasant.

I stayed there a second time after I was in the same hotel the weekend before. Please see my earlier hotel review. Again: Hotel offers rooms with a very well-equipped kitchen (if needed). The rooms have a great view over Santiago - dependent on the respectice room you could see Cerro Castillo and even the Andes. The hotel is two minutes from Metro Station La Moneda located - that is in the middle of the City Centre. For this location and the amenities of the hotel the rate they offered me was great. The only point that was just ok was the breakfast: instant coffee, salt and sugar from little packages like in the economy class in a airplan is not so a nice experience and offers definitely room for improvement.

I was with three more peolple and hour check in lasted an hour. An hour and half after I arrived my room, they calleed from the front desk to ask me I would like to switch rooms because the realiced the made I mistake with my room. The hotel was very noise in the mornin. I had a hard time sleeping.

Plus: excellent staff, premium well lit interior facilities with kitchenette, high speed elevator, and complete breakfast located near main downtown avenue, scenic urban landmarks and public/airport transportation. Minus: rooftop swimming pool dimensions (depth, length, and width) disappointing YET cool and refreshing. VERY IMPORTANT: between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. and on weekends, exterior access and lighting is limited. Enter through uunmarked alleys off of side streets. Definitely hope to return as hotel guest.

Seek an alternative

It is an extremely old building with new glass siding. It is not what is on the outside that matters but what is on the inside. Carpets are extremely old and shaggy and flooring and walls are bubbling. Hotel rooms are situated on the top floors of the building which gives a nice view of the city. Kitchen cabinets and appliances are updated which is practical if you going to cook. Showering area is elevated and tub is tiny, barely enough to fit an average size male. Hotel is slightly noisy in the morning from morning commuters and constructions. Two convenient locations for grocery are just around the corner. Hotel is situated about a mile from Central Market and shopping locations.
