This was a nice place to stay for trip to the GSMNP with 2 children (age 5 and 9) The kitchenette was important for us to have for our longer trip and to reduce eating out. Room was decently clean and stocked with basic appliances and plenty of towels. Room was large and made it comfortable for our family of 4 to maneuver. Some negatives included not receiving any service in our room over the course of our 5 days, which was fine with the exception of the garbage, we managed the garbage ourselves. I also wish the appliances came with even basic instructions. The shower, the washer/dryer, the dishwasher, the stove.... it was difficult to determine if things were broken or if we weren't using them properly. Toaster was broken and oven has no temperature measurement, among other nuances.
I didnt read all the fine details of the place and didnt know using the waterpark wasn't included in our stay (quite an added expense when we used the waterpark as our deciding factor to stay here). Also, didn't know this was a large time share resort and so much is wrapped up into attending seminars which are pushed. We refused to spend our time with this.
But, the outdoor pool and mini golf options were included and our kids <10 had a great time with these simpler amenities. Also, appreciated they had life jackets on hand. Would we go here again? Maybe. I'd do more comparison with other places and ensure the booking was worth it. But, I'd book again if it made sense.

Indoor Waterpark closed all but 3-4 days out of our 2 week stay, they closed an outdoor pool leaving 1 small pool for all guests. They do not ask to change sheets or clean, leaving you to ask for clean sheets and towels

It was amazing!! The waterpark was closed but we didn’t really care the resort as so much fun!! We went to the pool a lot since it was still open so that helped. They also had some free things set up for us since the waterpark was closed so that was nice too. My kids and I give it a 10/10!! We will definitely be trying it again sometime soon 😁

After traveling all day from the West Coast, the last thing we wanted was a sales pitch to become a Westgate owner. The sales associate who we were taken to after checking in, was very annoyed with us when we were not interested in hearing the rest of her sales pitch. Even stated it out loud. If it wasn’t for her, I would have rated our experience as an overall excellent experience.

The resort is beautiful, but staff is indifferent and nonchalant , many of the advertised amenities where closed for repair, and there were additional charges on my bill after I arrived which negated the discounted price on hotels.com.

Resort is beautiful but once I checked in I noticed door was coming of the hinge (note I do have a toddler and baby) it got fixed following day other issue was light in bathroom kept flickering told them about it but they didnt switch out a simple 1 or 2 light bulbs. I kept the do not disturb sign for 2 days after that it was off never got trash picked up had to dump out my own trash ok no biggy but the biggest issue was water park was closed thats the whole reason why we booked what a bummer. Best thi g they could have done is upgrade our room or wave cleaning fees sowmthing to balance it out I wouldn't book again id go elsewhere

Booked for the water park and the accesible pools.

When we got there, we're told the water park was shut down but the pools and hot tubs had lifts.

Hot tub lift broke while my husband was in the hot tub. Took nearly an hour for anyone to come and switch the battery. Was told numerous times the pool lifts would be in working order for the next day. Again, not the case. It was hot and humid and once again he couldn't access the pool. We waited over an hour and no one showed up to assist.

Chose this hotel specifically so that my wheelchair user husband could enjoy the pool. Called before booking, re confirmed numerous times that the pool lifts were all in working order. Extremely disappointed in this hotel.

No free meals, everything is expensive and food isn’t even good. Stayed for 4 days, housekeeper didn’t come by ONCE. Even upon request after slipping down stairs and spraining my ankle security said they would put in a ticket for us. On the last day I couldn’t take it anymore I went and found garbage bags, a mop and broom because I had 2 kids with me and they get messy! So you’re welcome for doing your job. There was little to no ability to play outside since there were no sidewalks and no grassy areas either so we just hung out at the pool in order to have some nature time. Oddly enough, I’m glad to be back in Minnesota. That areas is too overpopulated and over polluted, too dry and not peaceful

Very clean. The unit had everything we needed for ADA guests. It was comfortable. We had two units that were connected. The one with the king-size bed and balcony was perfect, but the one with the queen bed was very dark and felt more cramped. We enjoyed our stay but it was very busy especially around the oil and lobby.

Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived, so they upgraded us. Kinda of happy it wasn’t ready because we got an amazing room, very roomy, clean, with an Amazing view. The staff was super nice, specially Robert. My kids loved the Waterpark and the Escape room. Bottom line we won’t be staying at any other resort but this one in the future.

We booked this stay specifically for the water park and proximity to the national park. We were happy with the proximity to the park and the room matched description. Unfortunately room smelled like marijuana through the stay. It is is not clearly stated but the waterpark is NOT included. It would have cost our family $130. It was a small waterpark and we chose not to spend this amount of money for what was offered. We did attempt to visit the outdoor pool which was nicely heated. The pool snack shack was not open despite being told it would be open during these hours. The pool area also heavily smelled of marijuana. We ordered pizza for in room delivery our first night. Had we known it would be 90 minutes for pizza to arrive would not have done this, the kids were already asleep when it arrived. The pizza was good though. Overall we would not stay again.

I am surprised that no reviews mention this is a timeshare. When we checked in, I asked about waterpark passes. I was told that the concierge would help with that. That’s when I found out about the timeshare. They said we could attend a 90 minute presentation &tour w/ breakfast and get free water park admission, among a few other things. I really only wanted the water park passes but agreed. The breakfast was at 10am the next day. I have 2 pre-teens with me. The breakfast was horrible and we chose not to try the food at the resort as a result. The "90 min" presentation turned into a 5 hour ordeal w/multiple people attempting to talk us into joining and the price going lower &lower. I told them it didn’t make sense for us and with the ever increasing cost of living, I can’t add any other monthly expenses. I think they would have kept us there until it was time for them to leave. My daughter went back to the room b/c she was so upset. My son and I walked out before they could send a third person. We did not get our free water park passes. Our entire first day of vacation was wasted and we were mentally drained. We paid $35 ea for the waterpark which only has 2 big slides and my kids were ready to leave after 2 hours. They did not want to get in any of the pools bc the water was extremely dirty looking. There is no housekeeping and only “owners” get towels replaced. There is only one towel rack so our towels inevitably ended up on the floor. I would recommend a different lodge.

Light fixtures misses on ceiling fan in living room, light over dinning table hanging so low it was hard to sit at the table without bumping your head, no broom to sweep floor, ac did not work well and was very stuffy and uncomfortable to sleep at night. The water area is not included in price and you have to buy tickets. Security was excellent as well as the check in process.

At the time I made the reservation for the Hotel I got carried away by most of the comments and to be fair the Hotel since one we did the check-in, everything very polite and professional, one of the representatives offers us to take one of the available packets as to go to the water park for free but she tells us that we should receive a 90-minute talk about the property and the benefits they offer, so far everything is going very well and I really knew that they are very persistent in terms of wanting to sell the timeshare, the representative Juan at the beginning very friendly, but after saying that we were not interested in buying the timeshare he brought the manager and with the same insistence, already at this point 3 hours had passed, and at this point I tell him that we only wanted to leave and we were already not interested in receiving for free the entrance to the water park, in a very bad way this representative sends us a green form and sends us to the first floor, so be careful if you sign for timeshare orientation because most likely will take more than the 90 minutes they mention.

The property and staff are lovely. My friend and I didn't realize that we would need a car or shuttle to get around the property as it is very large and set into steep hills. So not like a place where you can walk to one of the restaurants. The first night, we arrived after dark and were given instructions how to find our cabin, but had a very frustrating time navigating and wondering around in the dark and trying to find the specific building our rooms were in. It was quite frustrating. My suggestion is guests arriving at night should be offered a golf court escort to guide us up to where our rooms were. That would have made all the difference to us when we arrived very tired and couldn't find our way around.

While the property itself was nice, i would caution others from staying here as all the amenities (ie waterpark, activities) cost add'l money. Very poor communication (took 2 tries to get them to send towels) yet they are constantly sending texts wanting excellent feedback. The property itself does not have a good infrastructure (2 pools to accommodate all guests) and it's on a hill so you either drive, walk up or down or wait for their buses. Sadly there are much better cheaper options available.

I won’t be back to Westgate. Our room was decent, nice bathroom space, stove didn’t work, no balcony on our Villa. Apparently we needed to get the Deluxe Villa to have a balcony. The worst part of the room was the lack of natural light. We had one small window… in the whole “villa”.
Lots of amenities on site, most of them you have to pay extra for, not a huge deal.

The part that was really off putting was this timeshare scheme they have going. We were invited at check in to attend a presentation with lunch to give our opinions about the facilities, and afterward they would give us a visa prepaid card, that would last 90 minutes, “but usually they finish before that”. What actually happened was a one on one car salesman type person who showed us a villa, and tried to convince us to buy a timeshare with them for 2 hours and 45 minutes. I told them I wasn’t buying anything at the beginning, and about 5 more times throughout the whole process. After I said no he would say that’s fine and let’s just wait for my boss to come over and I can review his performance, they never asked me for my opinion, just kept trying to lower the offer each time a “boss” came over. Just an epic waste of time on my vacation.
The rest of the trip was great though, just anytime I was away from Westgate.

Stunning views of the Smokies!!! Very clean property. Staff extremely friendly snd helpful. Love, the fact that you can text and ask questions (waterpark hours, and prices) and get an immediate response. And also request housekeeping services. Room was spacious and equipped for everything we needed for a weeks stay. Would highly recommend this property.

I thought the inside pool was included in the room cost. The water park was an additional charge for a smallpool whiched happened to be dirty/filthy. The communication about hiden fees wasnt expected. Short staff and very pushy sells/ staff. Not very friendly in the checkin/out area. Loud and noisy environment constantly sound like someone was trying to break into the room due to have to have the ac so slow to keep the room cool in additionto the fan . The transportationaround the area seemed to be a cool idea until one guy tried to run us over and was clearly speedingpast us even though there was a sign that said watch for kids and people. The food is okay the ribs are way to over seasoned with bbq. Dont waste your money here. Wish i could get my money back and get anotherhotel room somewhereelsewhere

The location is quite easy to find, it is quite steep up the hill. Every hotel we stay I try to give a review based on 3 things. 1. Hospitality, 2. Premise and experience 3. Above and betodn beyond
