Our stay way all most wonderful the view of the creek was a great plus but our next door neighbors were very loud till morning hours they kept knocking one our door and others at 2am and pounding on the walls made us feel a little us safe but the room was very nice and clean

Bear Creek Inn has great room prices through the hotel booking sites. It has all the basic comforts but is pretty lean on luxuries like no tissue boxes, no on-site breakfast. It has a great balcony located over the next door creek and the creek is lighted with multi-color lights at night. Beds are comfortable and water pressure is good with plenty of hot water. Rooms are a bit on the dark side. All appliances worked including the mini-fridge and microwave.

​We chose this place because of the river view and how the rooms looked in the photos, but when we arrived, it was nothing like what we had seen. The room was dirty. There was trash left in the corners from previous guests. The bathroom walls were filthy in the corners, and part of the toilet lid was broken. The sink leaked every time we used it, and the shampoo dispensers were broken as well. The refrigerator was dirty. This has been the most disgusting place I have ever seen.
​We stayed there for 3 days. Every single day we requested room cleaning service, and they didn't show up even once to actually clean. They only came by on the first day to leave towels, and those towels smelled awful. I don't know what they wash them with, but they had a terrible odor. They never cleaned the room or changed the sheets. The service was terrible, and the staff treated us very badly. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone; it was horrible.
​To make matters worse, the front desk was only open until 11:00 PM. After that, if you needed help, you had to call a number or walk to another one of their properties located about 5 minutes away just to ask for something. Also, the washing machines didn't work, and the vending machines didn't work either. Everything was absolutely awful and terrible.

Nice area to stay but they do not take pride in keeping things clean ! Stairs elevator patio has not seen a cleaning in a long time ! Rooms are just ok and need to be deep cleaned the ac smelled so bad that we put in car ac plug in just to by pass the smell in the room! Beware of office door it will slam upon entry . My arm was slammed by the door and skin was torn off and bleeding receptionist gave me alcohol wipes and antibiotics cream but did not even say sorry ! Not one time during our stay did anyone check on us ! Doctor called in antibiotics for my arm ! During check out told the receptionist about the door and what it did to me. I also told her I seen them working on door ! All she could say was have a nice day ! So our stay here was a little different then most . Will not stay there again!!

I was a little disappointed when I first pulled up. Thought it was gonna be yet another crappy hotel. But boy was I wrong once I got to the room. The room was very clean.had everything I needed and even had chairs on the balcony waiting for us.
Sure it wasn't perfect. They did have a few minor maintenance issues( mostly cosmetic) but was very happy with my stay and I think I now found me the hotel im gonna stay in every time I come to town

Room was clean but the floors always had a \"wet\" feeling too them. Bed was clean and pretty comfy. Obviously the best part of the room is the view. The rest is just ok, which is fine for a night. No breakfast, one of the lights didn't work. Water pressure not great. But the location was also great, you can walk to the downtown area and man was that nice- you do not wanna be in that traffic!! For what I needed it suited me.

Solo trip. Great location. Very walkable. All rooms have a balcony over the creek. Very clean and well maintained. Will definitely be back. Even seen a black bear around 11pm down by the creek. Oh, and take advantage of the free trolley system in Gatlinburg as well! Great little getaway

OK, the beds were pretty comfortable. The rooms were pretty clean. We found some issues there. However, our biggest issue was after we checked in room 110 we went in to clean up and then we left for a few hours and when we came back, we noticed some towels and stuff that we’re missing so I go to the front desk and they told us they had went in our room after we checked in and took the towels out didn’t seem right to us. Why were you going to clean it after we checked in?

We walked in the room and turned around and walked out. The smell was so bad it burned our eyes. It may have been mold. I went to the front desk to let her know that there was no way we can stay. She just stared at me and offered zero solutions. The one chair in the room was covered in stains. The floor was sticky and gritty.
The room looks nothing like the photos. Maybe 10 years ago!
I ended up canceling the next night but they did not refund the first night. The photos on Expedia are not what this hotel looks like. Also the rating system on Expedia is not correct for this hotel. This will have been my 3rd booking for Expedia where the property is not advertised correctly.

Needed a quick one-night getaway and wanted to stay on the river. Check-in was quick and easy. The room was spacious and air conditioning worked well. The balcony was right on the river, which was perfect. Close to the parkway we were able to walk. Would stay again.

The location was great! It is right off of a tram stop if you do not want to walk downtown, but the walk downtown is very easy. Avoid a $20 minimum parking fee. The parking in Gatlinburg is ridiculous. $20 no matter if you stay 10 minutes or 10 hours. So that fact, Lone made this place great in terms of Location.

And let’s talk about the balcony right off of the stream. How cool to sit out and have a drink!!

We really liked the location. That was the best part and that the price was fairly reasonable. Things in the room were broken- there was a hole in the back of the bathroom door and the button on the lotion dispenser was broken. I wanted to tell staff about this when we check out around 8:30 am but the office was locked and there was just a drop box for the key. When we walked barefoot in the room our feet ended up black so you can see how the floors hadn’t been cleaned well. There is a balcony overlooking a beautiful stream but right across from our balcony was a rundown house and discarded rubbish in the creek

Pros:
Hotel staff was very accommodating towards our late arrival, providing more towels, and helping make change for the $1 bill ONLY vending machines.
Ice is available.
Plenty of parking enforced with parking tags.
Great Thai place right next door, and downtown Gatlinburg is just ~1 mile walk to the aquarium and all the other fun things. Trolley stop is close by, too.
Makes it convenient to not have to pay to park, or fight traffic for restaurants/things to do on/around the strip.
Balcony rooms have a view of the creek.
AC is nice and functional!

Cons:
Do not come here looking for a luxury experience, or even an experience on par with a middle of the road hotel.
The creek has some trash.
The rooms are somewhat renovated, but it looks like they were cheaply and hastily done. The bathroom air vent fan was falling out of the ceiling and the faucet was ridiculously close to the sink basin making it hard to wash your hands.
The floors were absolutely filthy. I always take my shoes off before entering my own home and do so at hotels, but the bottom of my socks were black within minutes.
The beds were okay. The pillows seemed to be throw pillows stuffed into a full size pillow case. Blankets were torn.
The only window in our room provided minimal natural sunlight, the door to the balcony had a window, but it was painted over.

Paid ~130/night for its proximity, only. Most IHGs are nicer.
It’s fine if you ONLY plan to sleep and bathe. After 3 days we were ready to GO!

This used to be a great place to stay. Now rude Jamaican folks own it. They roll their eyes are very rude. The one cursing may had tattoos all over her head and face and was rude aswell. The place is falling apart. The balcony next to us has some gangsters from Memphis and Mississippi. They left blunt roaches and rolling papers everywhere, they fed the bears slim jims, the trash and cigarettes over the balcony onto the ground and in the river. Tv didn't even work. Gave us shredded towels. They don't respect the tradition of the town their in and the property they have aquired nor do they care. Stop selling properties to these outsiders from Jamaica and India. They're ruining Gatlinburg and it's rivers and old nostalgic places. Very disappointing in every way. Place is falling apart.

Where do I start? Rooms are filthy. Furniture is old and stained. Bugs galore ( inside and outside ) they also don't offer housekeeping for the entire week you're there. You can clean your room yourself. No sheets changed, no vacuuming, no cleaning of the bathroom. Overall I suggest you look elsewhere. There's hundreds of hotels in Gatlinburg. Look around before booking because I wish I did. BTW there's no way this is an 8.0 rating hotel. More like 5.0. Extremely dissatisfied!!

The rooms are clean with a great balcony overlooking a creek that is lit with decorative lights at night. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms were clean. All appliances worked well. A working iron and ironing board were provided to iron clothes.

Rooms are a little dark and there is not much room to hang clothes on the down-side.

The hotel “office” where you check in at smelled like urine. The room was dirty! Dead bugs everywhere. The bathroom was filthy as well. The smell of marijuana was also very strong on the back porch. We immediately left and the woman upfront working said she will ask the manager to refund me. I’m sure I will not get one, but I would never stay there nor recommend it.

My first night there was horrible. The room was not clean and there was bugs, and we had to get our key from the hotel nextdoor which seemed weird. The next morning I spoke to the front desk and they did switch rooms but they made me feel like I was being difficult for wanting a clean room and to not sleep with bugs. They did give us another room that was very clean for the second night. The beds were extremely comfortable and I love the creek behind the room. This was my second stay and I probably will stay again, but I will make sure to be there earlier so I can see the room before we stay.

No ice machine on the 1st floor. Air worked well. Parking was good. No hangers. No closet. No table to sit at to eat in the room or on the balcony. Only one desk chair to sit on for the 2 of us. Poorly lit room. No lamp except on the night stand. Couldn't read in the room. The photo of the room showed a comfortable chair and a lamp. The refrigerator is missing a leg and made noise all night.

Nice location. Loved that we were right on the river. We saw a bear the first night there. Room was comfortable, modern, all amenities were as described and functioning. Wish it was a little bit cleaner. Just that floors needed mopped and shower scrubbed better. Or maybe that's just me. Overall for the price definitely worth it. We would stay again.

We went to Dollywood for the day. Came back after a long day. Our key wouldn’t work. Go into the office and they sold our room!! 9 hours away from home and no where for me and my two kids to stay!! I will never stay here again!

I had a great stay for a great value. I definitely would stay here again. Nearby all the shops and restaurants in Gatlinburg. Close to pigeon forge too. The room was in great condition with a beautiful view from the balcony. I even got to see a bear from a safe place, while relaxing on the balcony.
