Very Nice hotel on a small river running through town. It was nice having the sound of the stream coming through the balcony window and door. They do have a small breakfast buffet that we only tried one of the five days we were there. They don't open till 8am and we wanted to be on the toad exploring by then. It's in a great location and a short walk to the strip. The shuttle also stops right out front and it's free. Burnt logs were left in the fireplace which caused an odor in the room unlike that of a burning fire. The odor wasn't so bad that we needed to have it cleaned out. The staff was more than helpful when providing local information on the shuttle and surrounding area. I would certainly stay here again.

Room was just plain dirty. If you walked around barefooted, the bottom of your feet were covered in dirt/dust within seconds. Tub had hair in it and staff didn’t even make the beds after our first night. Things improved after my spouse talked to the cleaning staff. Also, was hit with an unexpected parking fee when we first arrived. On the good side there’s a beautiful creek that runs along the back of the property and the staff were generally friendly and helpful.

Brookside Lodge has potential to be a good little place to stay, its on the creek and the staff was very friendly and helpful but its needs a serious renovation. Our first room was a king we got in it, its so old with wood paneling very musky smelling, the bed was wore out the chair was broke and the door would not lock. We changed rooms all was left was a double queen it was some better but one bed frames was broke so we couldn’t use it. I did love the creek with the deck out back,
That was peaceful listening to the creek

The property is dated and it shows. The bathroom door would not close unless you really pushed hard. The carpet was old with threads showing. The room was panelled with dark paneling which was scratched in multiple places. The room was very dark and the lighting wasn't sufficient to make up for the dark colors. The bathroom is small and there is zero counter space to put anything out. Breakfast is free but my wife and I could not eat the scrambled eggs since they were cold. They charge $5 per day for parking. This may be in the listing but I didn't see it and it caught me by surprise. They really need to do some serious work to bring it up to a more modern facility. My wife and I are frequent travellers to Gatlinburg and this is the first time we stayed here. We will not stay there again.

Breakfast was very good, and went to 11:00 am for convenience. The pool looked nice but was still locked in mid May. The highlight is the fast flowing river out your back patio—super cool. You can also walk downtown or take the free trolley. Driving/parking in Gatlinburg can be a challenge, though some restaurants have free parking if dining there.

Our 1st room was not in good shape, we could not stay there. Old carpets, stains in the ceiling, old bed. The evening staff were very helpful in finding a room that was acceptable. The sheets were not good quality , they were very thin. The hallways and elevators were not clean. We did not feel overly comfortale staying there .The outside grounds were nice and The breakfast was good.

Front door of room wouldn't close all the way, had to be slammed. Ceiling in bathroom needs repaired. Hotel is now charging $5 per day parking fee in addition to the stay charge. Isn't parking in their lot included in that? Wi-fi signal very weak.
We have stayed here every time we visit Gatlinburg, which is 1-2 times a year. We will be looking for a new place to stay.

Had a great variety for breakfast. The scramble eggs and sausage were lukewarm. Had to go deeper in pan to get warmer food. Great view from balcony of the creek stream. The balcony had spider webs around light fixture and rails.The front door didn't have a peep hole. No closet for clothes only hooks located on walls. I believe I was staying in the older rooms of the Hotel. Hotel located in a good location. I was charged $5.00 per day for parking. The staff was friendly. The room was clean.

The front desk staff( jennifer and rene) were very friendly,welcoming and informative.It is located off the main drag and was very quiet area. Everything was walkable. We stayed in the 2 story rustic older building on the property,it was clean and very comfortable inside, outside of building needs some sprucing up and maintenance. There was small microwave,refrig and a coffee machine in the room.We liked it ,loved the back balcony to relax above the brook running behind the property. We loved hearing the babbling brook and seeing the heron fishing. Didnt get to see the bear, that sometimes visits the brook though. The room suited our needs. The city trolley stop is at front of the office. Once we parked our car,we never drove until we entered the national park. Lovely little stores across the street.Breakfast buffet was filling and hot. It is self serve,making your own waffles/pancakes. Scrambled eggs,sausage, cold cereal,milk,tea,coffee, fruit, orange juice,yogurt,bagels were available. We would stay here again,we may try the newer building next time but the older building was fine.

It was an ok stay . we were in Tennessee for business/personal. The breakfast was pretty terrible and it had good reviews. The bed and pillows were the most uncomfortable things to sleep on. The bottom sheet would not stay on for anything. The balcony view was amazing. It was in a quite side of town which was good and it was not the worst walk to skybridge about 20 minutes. Would only stay here again if they allowed dogs - which by the way I did see a lot of dogs that were supposed to be \"service dogs\" I guess more power to the dog owners that got away with that claim.

Check in was easy but apparently they didn’t program my keys so they didn’t work on the first trip. Second trip they worked. Opened the door to be hit with the smell of weed. Contacted front desk and they offered to downgrade from honeymoon suite to 2 queen without fireplace with no price adjustment? Breakfast was pretty decent. The trolly shows up every half hour or so. I won’t be returning.

My review pertains to an injury I sustained on the property & how it was handled by the desk clerk (Jessica) & property manager (Sally). After breakfast my husband & I used the hotel restrooms located outside the room where the breakfast was served. As I entered the stall, the door slowly closed behind me & my forearm made contact with the metal door latch, which was defective, with very sharp edges. As a result, a large piece of my skin was scraped completely back, leaving an open bleeding wound. We went to the office & asked Jessica if they had a first aid kit available & she told us that it was locked inside the manager's (Sally's) office. She offered me a white washcloth, which I declined because I didn't know how clean it was. She did not offer to get me help. She contacted their maintenance man, & I showed him the door latch defect. We returned later in the evening & it had not been fixed. This was on Sat., 4/18/26, & Med Check in Gatlinburg was closed. We purchased First Aid supplies at the grocery store. Jessica lied to the general manager, Sally, & said she offered me a bandaid & to call for help. She did neither of these things. Sally was incredibly defensive, made excuses, & questioned the validity of my First Aid expenses when I asked for reimbursement. Note that I didn't ask for the room charge to be comped, and was shocked that it was never offered. It was a terrible experience & I will never return to this hotel again. This is not how you treat your guests.

The breakfast was wonderful. Housekeeping could’ve been a little better. They didn’t bother taking out the trash the next morning after we arrived. They left the bag with towel and a roll of toilet paper outside our door. They never came in and picked up wet towel but other than that, it was a great place to be. Hear something Outside the front door open the curtain and there was a bear loved it scared us,but loved it.

My stay was excellent. Upon arrival I was greeted by a friendly staff and a welcome bag. The bag contained 2 waters and 2 apples. I was given a map of the grounds which came in handy later. We had the creekside king room. The room we stayed in was spacious and the AC unit worked great. We had a beautiful view of the creek out back. The balconies in the building i stayed in were private and concrete. The rooms are also well insulated and quiet. The next morning the breakfast was very good. Many options. The breakfast hall was very spacious and beautiful. Overall I will be staying here again and I recommend anyone planning a trip to give this lodge a try.

When they say keep trash closed there’s bears they mean this literally everyday of our stay we seen bears. The rooms are clean the balcony views was peaceful and well worth the visit! WE SAW A BEAR! We picked this hotel as the creek looked beautiful, and it was exactly the same as pictured. The room was spacious and was really cosy with country cabin vibes. Check in was simple and there was ample parking. The creek was pretty and from the balcony we did get to see a black bear walking along the creek. Short drive from Great smoky mountains NP. Much preferred area to gatlinburg itself which is crazy. Shuttle available. Only downside was that there wasn’t any logs available for us to use the fireplace.

The room felt very dingy. There was dirty q tips left in the bathroom, the towels had long hairs on them and the carpet is in extreme need of being shampooed. This is a beautiful older motel. The beds are clean and comfy, bathrooms are clean. There are a few things that could be updated and fixed but the free breakfast in the beautiful event center makes it all worthwhile. The babbling brook was a wonderful view from the balcony. The pools were not open while I was there but they were cleaned every day . I will be back.

Ok, for starters, we all know the online photos are meant to make the properties look better than they are, but the rooms were not even close to what was online. The rooms were to give the log cabin feel, but only putting up some log design dressers and a comforter with trees on it, doesn’t automatically create that theme, but that’s not the worst to point out. The property clearly was not a part of the original grounds and was a shady, motel adjacent that was lazily fixed up to match. Now for the major issues. Bed sheet had dried stains on it, that could only be assumed to be blood, the floor was absolutely disgusting, leaving dirt on your soles if walking barefoot, and the toilet would not flush, only drain slowly with no plunger to try and fix the pipe clog. Stay at your own risk!

Brookside was a nice place. It could use some updating, however. I rented two rooms. Pros - Rooms are spacious. The location is quiet and peaceful. Kitchenette has sink, refrigerator, and microwave. (No cutlery, dishes etc. provided. The bathroom is good. I especially liked the sinks. Cons - The lighting in the room was weak. No central ceiling light and lamps were not very bright. Rooms did not have the same amount of lighting. Beds need new mattresses. The furniture was different in the rooms. One had a couch and no chair. The other had a chair and no couch. One had two chairs at the peninsula. The other had one. All of these chairs needed some repair to the backs. It appears that when furniture is broken it is removed and not replaced.

The staff was very pleasant upon arrival and there was even a gift bag. Our room was nice and we could tell that they are continuing to update the property. You should definitely pay attention when they tell you that there are bears in the area and to keep your car closed as well as no food inside. I accidentally left back window open and got a surprise. This is not the hotel's responsibility. It was all me and the area is still great!

Breakfast was simple and consistent, with open hours to accommodate many guests without long lines or large crowds. Staff was incredibly friendly and the rooms were clean and well kept. A slightly longer walking distance from the main strip, but still a very easy walk. For the price, this was an excellent stay.

I checked in, saw the room, checked out. The room was mucky and damp. The \"balcony\" was littered with beer cans and cigarette butts. We tried to look over those things but then we saw the condition of the bed. I do not like to leave bad reviews. I do not recommend this place. I probably would have had confrontation with the manager had I not recognize right from the start she was going to be combative with us. So I was very passive in order to get my refund.

The room needed some updates and cleaning. Several things need to be fixed. The dead bolt locks didn’t work, phone didn’t work, window in bathroom wouldn’t close, and there was a square cut out in the wall. The railing on balcony was loose. Several things were going on, but the staff was friendly. The breakfast was good.
