From the moment I entered the lobby, it was clear this property was not being properly maintained. The floors were dirty and littered with trash, and the same conditions continued throughout the stairwells (there is no elevator).

When I opened the door to my room, I was immediately hit with a foul, unpleasant odor. It only got worse from there. Most of the lights in the room didn’t work, and after finally finding one that did, I was horrified to discover multiple cockroaches crawling on both the floor and the walls.

At that point, I immediately left the room and went to the front desk to request a refund. Rather than showing concern, the staff responded with denial and an unprofessional attitude.

I ended up sitting in my vehicle in the parking lot while I contacted Hotels.com customer service. Thankfully, they took the situation seriously and were able to relocate me to another hotel.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. The cleanliness issues, presence of cockroaches, non-functioning lights, and poor customer service made the property completely unacceptable. I would strongly advise others to avoid staying here.

Do NOT stay at this hotel. I stayed there 10/17 and noticed on 10/23 that I had all sorts of itchy red bug bites on my neck and arms. Bedbugs can take up to 2 weeks to show signs of the attack. I should’ve been wary earlier since my boyfriend found an earwig on the headboard. There was no working fan or hair dryer in the bathroom and we weren’t given enough towels either. Front reception was friendly at least.

Superficially, it looked good after reviewing the details.It needed more work specifically.There is a telephone in the room, but it's not connected at all. The water faucet in the shower was completely reversed.Cold was hot hot was cold, there was one ice machine for the entire building, and it was empty.And I was told, tenants must have filled up their cooler.But when I walked past it, it was streaming water out of the ice compartment.So I believe it was broke. Also, this is the first time i've ever seen a pop machine with a label on it.That says waiting for deliveries plus other than two types of cheerios extremely limited food.

The room had a strange smell. We bought air fresheners to try and mask it. The floor was tacky, probably just the cleaner they mop with in between stays. The second day we never could get hot water even after 15 minutes of letting it run. On the third day, the hot water did come on after 15 of running the the shower. We will never stay here again and we plan to travel to the area another 4 times in the next 8 months.

Newly remodeled hotel and very affordable rates.

We stay here while we were fishing in the area. The first room that we were given had an odor to it but we went to the front desk and they happily moved us a a much better room. Very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We ended up extending our stay for three days. This coming weekend they will be opening up an Asian restaurant in the hotel.
They have done many updates to the hotel since we were there two years prior. The weekly rates are very affordable. We will be back again.

It’s dirty the shower wall is broken and they just put putty on it we walked in and there was a man that pulled in stumbling around and drunk out of his mind. We paid for 2 queen beds and we got beds barely bigger than a twin size bed. Only half of the TV remote works the coffee maker is filthy. Everything is just gross

As a former CHOICE hotel Manager for Comfort Suites South in Grand Rapids, Mi., I was so impressed by the new management of this hotel. Their friendly, hospitable service, coupled with clean comfortable rooms, pool and exterior care shows they care for both for the CHOICE brand and their property. I was impressed and enjoyed my visit!

Upon entering rm was hit by earthly smell (mold) air conditioning increased mold smell. Couldn't breath, equipment didn't work, no lights or H2O, and towel rack above toilet ready to fall on you while you use toilet. Toilet was only thing working & it was filthy....Worst, & most unhealthy place I was forced to stay. When you check in at 9 at night you have no choice ugh... Asthma attacks, blankets visablely stained. I took pictures of fixtures hanging from walls, dried urine all over...... Yes worst

The hotel is marked up tremendously due to the summer tour season. So I was already paying way more for way less. Then I informed the staff that there was a mouse in my room and they never followed up or ever returned contact with me about anything related to addressing the mouse or any level of compensation.

There was damage in the room (holes in the wall, shelf falling down), and when reported the staff said “ok, I will let the manager know” but there was no effort to fix it or offer to move to another room.
The staff seemed nice but not very helpful. For example we asked for towels several times (we only had 2 in the room) and never got them. Also, the breakfast was disappointing and the pool was very cloudy to the point you couldn’t see the bottom.

The jets in the hot tub didn’t work. The pool was ok until they drained it during our stay with no notice or explanation. All the top floor window screens were broken, the counter tops were dirty, the bathroom sink had blood on it, the pillows had dirt on them, the bed smelled like a sweaty armpit, the bathroom shower was slippery, the safety vision door button had toilet paper stuffed in it, the neighbors were very loud. The front desk checkout people were outside cat calling me at a picnic table in the parking lot.

Outdoor locking was leaning against side of building, leaving access to anyone who wants to enter the building. Room across hall from ours had an over-flowing trash bag sitting next to it when we checked in and it remained there when we checked out. Veery below average property.

This was a one night stay to be close to a concert venue. The property outside has not been kept up, the entrance door is propped up and sitting next to the the entrance. the grass had not been cut, the outside has not been maintained. The carpets we not vacumed in the hallway. The room itself was clean. there was cups and coffee packs but no coffee maker, the bed was comfortable. There was no hot water for a shower. the breakfast was just cereal and oatmeal, juice and coffee and tea but only served on weekends. I would not stay here again, not worth the price.

This place is directly out of the inter-city of Deli. We spent four nights here, and this is what we experienced: I had to yell at the manager to get our room cleaned. No clean towels, the fire alarm was pulled out of the ceiling, the front desk person refused to get the manager, window screens were falling out of the windows, parking was very tight, I had to call the front desk to get the instructions on operating the television. Unless you plan on checking in late evening and checking out early morning, I would highly recommend finding another place.

Recommend for Worst Case Scenario

The the amount this place cost, it was absolutely disgusting to know what I paid for what we got.
Check in was slow. The room key didnt work, so they moved us to a different room.
Walked in the room, the light switch didnt work. Sat on the bed and i was squeaky metal.
When pulled back the covers, there were hairs and crumbs.
The bathroom had a nice shower, however took almost 5 minutes for warm enough water to shower to start running.
Towels were less than pleasant, but it was something than nothing.
For $60/night, I'd expect things like this, but for $285/night, it was pretty bad.

It's a fairly inexpensive place to spend the night; it's not the most comfortable, but it's acceptable. Unfortunately, during several nights I spent there, the hot water didn't work, the TV channels didn't always work, and the sink had a leak. Another thing that caught my attention was the lack of courtesy and attentiveness of the staff. If you're looking for a place to stop and rest before continuing on your way, they might be able to accommodate you.

We decided to cut our valentine's weekend short due to the weather and its continued deplorable conditions that were being forecast. Called to cancel our reservation as a courtesy knowing we wouldn't receive our money back. The woman was extremely rude and in instisted I couldn't cancel. I finally said, \"Well we will not be there and hung up.\" I never asked for any money back she was immediately just defensive and ride saying, \"u can't cancel.\"

The place appeared clean at first sight. I ended up with 2 cockroaches on my nightstand, so I slept with the lights on. The sink produced hot water, but I could get nothing over 60 degrees out of the shower. I tried the handle in every position and kept it running for roughly 15 minutes. I ended using a wash cloth with the hot sink water to wash up after a very uncomfortable stay. 2 containers of identical off-brand Cheerios were offered along with Styrofoam muffins for breakfast.

Not very happy with my experience here. When I got there the TV did not work I had to call the front desk and they had to walk me through how to get it going. The next day when I woke up I took a shower and there was no hot water. I let the hot water run for like two minutes and it was still not hot. So I decided to take a cold shower and after I was done I called the front desk and they said the cold is the hot and the hot is the cold and you need to let it run for five minutes. I don't feel that it was worth $188 for one night sleep.

For the price, this property didn’t measure up in any way. I paid $220 for one night and got this: Shabby, bathroom fixtures needed replacing, lobby wasn’t clean, key cards needed replacing 3 times in a one night stay, miserable “breakfast”, unprofessional front desk. The best thing I can say is that the bed was ok and the shower worked. Unacceptable for over $200! I’ve had better accommodations at $60 a night.

First room we were provided, some drunkard ran into the wall with his extended bed truck. He didn’t go through—but we didn’t feel safe. Our second room…food in the loud non-working air conditioner,
Who know WHAT on mattresses.
Window wouldn’t lock. I as wide open when we got in—probably because of non working air conditioning. We left that night. They refused to refund.

The room had two queen beds, one bed had dog hair all over the bedspread. Room apparently was not cleaned from the previous guest. Two towels for 3 guests. No soap in the bathroom. Bathroom door would only close if we pushed hard then it was difficult to open, must have been warped. Light over the sink didn't work. Air conditioner made a loud squeeky sound that kept us up all night. Vending machines were empty. Carpet in the hallway and steps smelled. Just horrible.

I only stayed for one night. I had a pleasant enough experience checking in & parking, though the exterior looked a bit rough - but when I got home the evening after checking out, I started to notice welts on my arms, legs, back & chest. By the next morning, I knew I was covered in Bed Bug bites. I threw away the clothing that was in the room with me, and I'm terrified now that despite that caution I've brought them home with me. I'll never stay there again, and I've notified EconoLodge corporate that all guests need to be contacted & that the entire place needs to be treated immediately.

Worst stay ever. If I'm paying $300 a night, I'd expect to have a room worth that price. The A/C did not work so the room was 85+ degrees. Opened the window to try to cool off and the screen was all bent up so we got to enjoy flying bugs all night while we dripped with sweat. Bathroom was below par. Stained towels. Dirty toilet. Exhaust fan sounded like a freight train. There was some kind of nasty goo on the wall by the trash can. The room safe didn't work because there were no batteries in the keypad.

We rented two rooms the 2nd week of July. The air conditioner in both rooms did not work and it was HOT - sweat dripping down my back in bed hot. In one room there were two queen beds. As soon as you stepped in the room you could see the HUGE dip in the middle of the bed. The ceramic tiles around the toilet were cracking. In the middle of the night (with bare feet because it was so hot) you could feel ceramic cracking under your feet and I thought i would wake up to glass shards in my skin. We booked this location due to its proximity to Interlochen and that's about the only positive I can find here. It was a close Uber ride away from the concert venue.

Felt like a “seedy” motel, broken tile, dark narrow hallways, no locking, fan in bathroom didn’t work, light on mirror not working, caulking dirty, noise from small refrigerator kept us awake until unplugged, torn up parking lot, general feeling was questionably safe, property was in bad condition. Good location close to Interlochen, that was our destination.
