This was the grossest room I’ve ever stayed in. I wasn’t obviously expecting the Ritz, but I was expecting some level of cleanliness. There was dried pee on the toilet seat, hair inside the toilet bowl, the walls had grease marks all over. The room also reeked of cigarettes. Spiders in the corner and the sink faucet was broken. Unfortunately we didn’t switch because I felt like the others would’ve been similar and we had a party to get to immediately upon check in, so there was no time for us to deal with the front desk to make a room change. That being said, I will never stay here again, and I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. It was foul.

When we first got to our room it was clean. When going to bed we found that one of the pillows had brown spots all over it. On our last morning there, I saw these same brown spots, but bigger on the blanket that was on the other bed. Mattresses were seemed very old and were really uncomfortable. We also had a cockroach in our bathroom. The pool area was nice. Breakfast was okay; it was mainly packaged foods. The staff we interacted with were very nice.

Very dated motel. Stayed here for the nostalgia, as I grew up going to HoJo's around the US. Check in was ok, but no one there to check out. Stairs to the room were rusty with peeling paint. Crumbling sidewalks. Felt unsafe.
Shower curtain had that foul, sour smell--needs to be soaked in bleach or disinfectant. A real turn off.
Beds seemed clean and we're comfy.
Breakfast was surprisingly good--hard-boiled eggs, oatmeal, cereal, breakfast bars, muffins, juices, coffee, and best of all, yogurt, and not the cheap stuff!
If you upgraded the appearance, I think this would be a great improvement!
Busy area in TC, but overall, quiet.
One last thing--the curtains on front windows did not close completely.

When checking in they told me they were over booked for a room with 2 beds. Put us in king bed room that was for the handicapped. The floor in the room flooded each time we took a shower, there was items left that were thought to have been trash from previous guests. Others from our group were able to get a room with 2 beds like they requested. I reserved our room a month before our visit. We were told it was due to \"contractors coming to town\" who were gone by 7am the next morning. Will not be staying there again. Will not be refering others to this establishment.

So they only have 2 rooms with the heart shaped jetted tubs that they show in the pictures. That was what i thought i was getting and did not. The other jetted tub was fine just disappointed that what was advertised was not what i got.

Room rate was fair. Hot water was hot! Room didn't look like the photos. Run down furniture, no dining area/table. Only one chair. Food left in fridge by previous visitor. Not clean around the sink. Heater was not running right. It ran steady all the time and made just a barely adequate amount of heat. it was a quiet room, though. Some of the staff was hard to understand. Breakfast items were short.
I guess we got what we paid for...

The biggest problem was that there is a 25' to 30' shrub and curb divider between the rooms and our cars with no access walks to either the rooms or the cars. I have a neuropathy handicap that prevented me from safe and convenient access. Also, no safety bars in the shower.

The hotel is a short drive from downtown and various beaches. The street in front is busy, but our second-floor room was quiet. Check in was quick and easy. Room (deluxe king) was decent. Floor creaked when you walked. Fridge/freezer wouldn’t adjust so everything would freeze. Bed was comfortable, pillows nice, jacuzzi tub was clean and nice, water was hot and pressure was good. Breakfast was basic grab and go but good options and we enjoyed it. Pool looked really nice even though we never used it. One of the vending rooms was next to our room but ice machine was out of order. There was another vending room on opposite side of motel that had ice which was fine. Both vending rooms were so hot that candy bars were melted. Location of hotel was very convenient for beach and downtown access. Overall for the price we were happy with our stay. We really just needed a place to sleep since we spent all our time exploring the area.

Front desk girl Shivali was very polite and helpful, property and rooms very clean, and nice size. New clean shower, easy parking, and excellent Traverse City location.. Rest of staff unfriendly not even a smile. A/C units are noisy, and steel steps are steep. A bit disconcerting was construction or contractor workers sitting in their vehicles everyday for hours just staring at the rooms, and at my wife when we arrived or left the room. Very odd but when I confronted a couple of them it stopped. Overall a good value I would say. Pete
