When I went to shower the first night there was toothpaste on the shower wall and a wad, I mean wad of hair on the shower floor. There is no way the shower was cleaned. Yes I took pictures. There was also hair stuck to the front of the toilet. The bathroom was dirty.
There was also vomit on the stairs going to the third floor. If you want a place to stay that is far from relaxing then this is your place.

We loved our stay at Sugar Beach Resort. We were greeted warmly and felt welcome. Our room was very clean and had a beautiful view of the beach from our private spacious balcony. Beach chairs were set up and there were plenty. The hallways and elevator were very clean also. Housekeeping comes once every three days which was perfect for us, we prefer it that way. Everyday you choose what you’d like from a selection of boxed breakfast items for the next day, they deliver at your door at a time of your choosing. We had a fantastic stay and will definitely be back!

I love that the hotel is right on the water and you can walk out to the beach and have chairs or loungers available. Bring your own towels though, they do not provide them for you. It also helped that you could rent kayaks or jet skis right there too. They had a nice variety of options you can choose from for breakfast and it is delivered to your room. We didn't go to the pool but we saw it when we checked in, it seemed just fine. The sunsets were just amazing!

The bottom floor facing the lake is where you want to be! They had picnic tables, chairs, beach chairs, umbrella etc. Perfect for accommodating parties of all sizes! The view was fantastic & the property was so nice!

We enjoyed our stay at Sugar Beach for 1 night. It was chilly weather 55-64 F so we were unable to use the beach. There are many chairs facing the water. We had a balcony and did sit for a few minutes to enjoy the beautiful view. There is an indoor pool & hot tub.

We’ve stayed here several times, which says something about the property. My one complaint was breakfast. Rather than the breakfast they used to provide, they now serve boxed food. We tried most of the choices, and none were great, some were awful. I’m sure there are a variety of reasons they use these boxed breakfasts and I suspect it’s a corporate decision, but don’t expect a fresh breakfast. Otherwise, it’s a good place to stay.

We were able to upgrade our room to a beach view when we got there for a small fee which we were happy about. My friend has stayed at this place before though and our room was not as nice as some of the other ones she said. The bedding was stained so we got out the other comforter in the closet and that one was stained too. The room felt less unkept and maintained than other rooms and that was noted in the bathroom as the wallpaper was pieced together and peeling in many spots. The breakfast being delivered was nice and the view was nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but the cleanliness/upkeep of the place took away from the overall experience. We would stay here again as overall it was a good experience. We just would like to see more upkeep in the cleanliness and maintenance of the place!

Sugar beach location was roughly 10-15 minutes from downtown. The beach on site, was ideal. Beach chairs need to be updated.. could be nicer. The balcony decks need cleaned. Hotel room was nice.. Breakfast delivered to room was nice in the morning, not having to go down to a lobby was a plus. Coffee machine in room could be updated.

The room was clean. The room was last in a corner. That room I had supposed to be water view. I would say it was rentals view. That room should not to be rented at all, as it was lots of kayaks in front of the room, lots of working guys going back and forth in front of the window. Lots of people going for rentals. Not peaceful at all. It should be for maintenance or resorts purposes only. I paid for water view room and not happy what the resort offered.

I wish breakfast options were better. Also the hotel used to offer hot coffee in the lobby available to guests. This time, coffee was old and lukewarm. Beach shower was broken and not fixed during our 5 days stay. Otherwise the place is very clean and pleasant.

As we were trying to relax and enjoy the lake view from the beach, they began to run the power washer to clean lounge chairs from storage. This went on all day. It kind of took away from the peacefulness we were hoping to experience. Maybe it’s better to stay midsummer. ??
The double room set up was nice but it wasn’t very clean. The curtains had stains and when we went to use the movable mirror on the sink counter, we discovered mold growing around it. The room also needed a good vacuuming.

The room was outdated in decor. We loved the location right on the beach and I spent a lot of time sitting outside. But the tiled floor needed mopping and wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling. The breakfast in a bag was just a tragedy. For the price I paid for the room a skimpy, cold, cellophane wrapped item that I need to microwave just didn't cut it. The room was not cleaned in the three days we were there, and additional towels were not provided. Several times we requested additional coffee. Finally, the alarm clock was so bright that my husband kept it under the bed.

Additionally, the room next door served as the gathering place for a large family staying in another part of the hotel. They were cooking in the room and the smell of the spices was awful. Breakfast was delivered to your room and was a 'boxed' breakfast - we opted for the Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich each day, it was a little disappointing. You had to go to the lobby for coffee or use the small coffee maker in the room. The comforter was dirty, but the rest of the room and bathroom were OK. The staff was friendly. The weekend we were there, there were a lot of families who really trashed the beach area, it took the staff a while to clean up the beach area. The hot tub and pool were nice. Good location.

Breakfast boxes were poor quality prepackaged food. Housekeeping is every third night, which is completely unacceptable. This isn’t Covid anymore. They are either a bad employer or cheap, and at over 300 a night they can’t act cheap if they aren’t cheap.

Great property right on the bay. We were on the first floor with a porch that was one step down to the beach. It was wonderful. The room was clean and comfortable and the mini fridge was very helpful (it even had a small freezer for our freezer pack. The pool and hot tub were excellent. You get to choose a breakfast choice and they drop it off at your door each morning. The breakfast we chose included a breakfast sandwich, juice, a banana and a bottle of water. The bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed. We were very happy with our stay.
