We were quoted one price when we checked in and verified through our bank that that is what they ran the card for and then mysteriously the bill went up. When I signed up for the room, I explained I wanted to ground floor Beach view was paying all this extra money I thought for it and I ended up on the second floor for 10 days in a room the size of a shoebox. No closet no dressers nothing they told us if you want something you ask us we don’t clean your room we don’t do anything while you’re here in your room unless you ask. So here we are in a shoebox of a room with our suitcases and clothes we can’t hang up or put in drawers. Then my card was ran again the fifth or six day in for another $900 so I’ve stayed in some pretty nice places in Traverse City for virtually the same price very nice places and this had that motel kind of feel there was no actual beach view. I was shown the room that I thought I was getting and told I couldn’t have it unless I moved around the whole time I was there. I would not stay here again, most disappointed maybe if I were doing it for one night but not for 10. The people we went out out of our room to go get towels and things from they were very nice people, but when I questioned about the two different rates, the man at the desk told me he ran it for one number and I said no that wasn’t it and he said yes it was in my bank said no it wasn’t. It was the number I said mysteriously went up 1000 bucks by the way 500 a night because of Fourth of Jul

Rooms are small but nice clean all staff are nice property well kept very cute and inviting. Would definitely recommend to friends and family!! But the most important is Patricia she makes the place worth coming to she is amazing make you feel extremely welcome goes out of her way to help anyway she can!!!

This place was very well kept up right next to the beach. The workers are very helpful, but it is a studio if you’re looking for something a little bit bigger get something bigger because this is a New York style studio, but very nice and clean.

Beautiful location and property. Have stayed before. Clean rooms. Downfalls: bring your own wood or buy Amish wood waste for $10. at the property. Anywhere else I’ve paid to stay with a fireplace the hotel provided the firewood. Secondly: they only serve breakfast from 8:00-10:00am. Most places serve breakfast earlier so if you’re traveling and have to catch a flight you can get something to eat. I believe they’re nickel and diming here. Not sure if I’ll stay again.

We had a wonderful time. Everything was stocked and available for us and the room was clean. The beach was beautiful unfortunately it was a little too chilly so we weren’t able to fully enjoy all the amenities. I took advantage of the coffee and breakfast that they had available. The cleaning ladies were very helpful when we ran out of an item. The only bummer was the coffee machine broke, but it was a holiday and no one was available to come fix it until the next day which is understandable. I loved the cute little cookies they had available at the front desk. They were delicious!

Sweet spot with easy access to all Traverse City has to offer! Was wonderful to have the private sandy beach, they even have a great bonfire pit! Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Staff was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious! We enjoyed our stay!

Only spent one night there as we were in town for a medical appointment. Check in by owner was very cordial and courteous, grounds and room were very organized and clean. Don't expect a lot of amenities, but all rooms have sunrise views, direct Lake Michigan access with beach chairs and a boat rental right next door. Almost forgot about the rooms shower, you'll love it!

Great location! Can’t beat the view of the lake. The room was small but clean. The bathroom needed some updates (a toilet seat that wasn’t permanently scoured would make the room feel 10x better). The breakfast was ok but the seating was minimal and cramped. Great place to stay in Traverse City on a budget.

The front desk staff was superb. The room was very clean and partially updated. There was a hint of cigarette smoke in the room, but I suspect that was in the walls from many years ago. We wish there would have been a skinny table/desk instead of the short line ottoman. That would have been more useful. Maybe something to think about in future updates. The location was beautiful. It is right on the beach with outdoor furniture available to enjoy the relaxing sound of water . Breakfast was not great but we are not big breakfast eaters so it worked for us (single serve cereals, fruit, yogurt and a couple of hot options). Will definitely be back.

The front desk was friendly and helpful, the person who checked us out was also pleasant. The outside area was very attractive with a pretty garden and colorful furniture- great beach vibe! We had a fabulous view, which could not have been beaten and considering the price we paid, we could not have been happier with the place. Would certainly go there again.

We liked the place and plan on coming back next year. The only problem we encountered is when i was trying to call the front desk no one was answering. Called more than 10 times and even expedia customer service called no one answers. We were running a little behind with our ETA and an answer from front desk would really help. Other than that place is nice and breakfast is good

This little Beach Inn is just perfect for a quiet getaway! Has a gorgeous beach with plenty of seating and a fire pit. The staff is extremely friendly. They have fresh baked cookies for you when you check in. A nice hot breakfast that is included with your stay. This is our dedicated place to stay when we travel to Traverse City!!

My husband and I enjoyed a four day stay at the Brio. We had a queen bed room, and it was quite small. Everything worked and the bed was comfortable. The view of Grand Traverse Bay, from outside our room, was beautiful. My only complaint is the hot breakfast items were the same every day we were there The staff were very friendly and helpful re: places to eat and directions.

Very good spot right on the lake

Loved that it was right on the lake. They allow you to have fires and it’s 24 access. The hotel room itself is a bit outdated but it was still cute. Only problem I had was with the cleaners, there was still someone else’s food in the fridge left in there. Overall a good spot to stay in though, minutes from downtown traverse.

Great price for such a nice beach. Location is not walkable to downtown and the road is busy and not walkable to anything but hotel bars and restaurants. Rooms are small and floor is not super clean. They need to scrub the corners. Cookies in lobby but not offered one. Breakfast is supposed to have sandwiches but there isn’t any when we got there and we weren’t too late. Coffee should not be in the corner. It’s just too congested in the morning. Overall, great value because of the beach and it’s great price in the off season on a beautiful week.

Great location

Location of the Brio is great, right on the bay. Room was large enough for a couple but would seem cramped for a family with children. Wasn’t very clean and no maid service while we were there. I would stay again because of the location but cleaning

Friendly, attractive, lake side lodging!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay from check-in to check- out. The friendly service and care was much appreciated. Our location in an accessible lower floor room made a difference. We loved our deck overlooking Lake Michigan. My only regret is that I didn't take the time to jump in for a swim!

The inn is in a nice spot, not too far from Front St (10min). Our room, unfortunately, was right next to the office. We were woken up earlier than desired by the noise they made while preparing breakfast. Not a huge deal.

Going back to the beginning of our stay. Some of the room was dirty upon settling in. The bathroom floor hadn’t been cleaned. I spilled water and wiped it up and had dirt on the towel. Secondly, our bed sheets were stained and had hair in them that didn’t belong to us. I brought it to the fro my desk agent and she was very attentive to the issue and took care of it right away.

When I checked out I mentioned it. I hoped he would consider discounting our stay or something to retain our loyalty. He didn’t. But he invited me back. Unfortunately, he didn’t give me much of a reason to return after I had been let down.

Likes: shower, beach access, location, friendly staff, mostly clean rooms.

Luggage or toiletries.black hairs found on window sill ,bathroom under shelf and IN MY BED!.hair dryer did not work,had to ask for different one,shower stall floor was stained with “ caulk” in the corner. Never again!!!

These rooms are not lakeside or lake view.
The property is lakeside but the rooms are parking lot views!
No seating outside your door and no screen door to leave door open to the tiniest room on earth. 8x10.
No mirror but in the tiny bathroom.
No bathroom counter space.
No place to put luggage or hang clothing.
No drawers.
No beach towels.
We were unable to get a refund for our 2nd night, as they wanted a 24 hour notice. This was 332.00/night!
We cancelled our 3rd and final night, but 48 hours later as I write this review I still have not received the refund.
I stopped back in after we checked out to talk to someone but no one was around.
Also called several times, no one answered.
Sent 3 messages, no one replied.

Check in was easy and staff was very friendly and attentive. Nothing fancy about the room but that’s ok, it did have a view of the bay which was nice. The beach was beautiful, clean and a nice place to relax/unwind and also was the sunrise. Would stay here again for sure

Excellent three night stay. If looking for a clean place to stay on the beach…this is it! Not busy. Always chairs to sit on at the beach. Fabulous hot breakfast to start your day off right. Staff so friendly and welcoming. Close to downtown and all the area attractions.

THE STAFF WAS GREAT. WHAT WE DID NOT LIKE WAS HOW SMALL THE ROOMS AND THE BEDS ACTUALLY WERE COMPARED THE PICTURES WE VIEWED PRIOR TO BOOKING AND THEN ARRIVING.
