The room was filthy. Wads of long hair on the carpet even though none of us had hair longer the 2 inches long. The coffee pot still had a few tablespoons of coffee in it. Not washed for sure. Every counter had some sticky on them. The kitchen counter, bathroom counter, table, desk and coffee table all had spots of sticky on them. Hallways stunk of smoke and pot. Others were changing rooms because of smoke in their rooms. This was the flithiest place we have ever stayed.

Very dirty. Black mold in the toilet, shower and the doors were not vacuumed upon our arrival ( cracker crumbs on the floors). All the kitchen cabinets and bathroom cabinet doors were sticky and super nasty with food smears all over. It clearly was not cleaned beyond new trash bags and straightening up.

I have to come to traverse city atleast 2 weeks out of the month for the company i work for and this reaort is amazing . I love everything about it. The hallways carpets are a little dirty but i contribute that to steady traffoc becausebthis place is such a oasis. My home away from home i call it.

Honestly we stay in TC a lot! We have family in the area and a child that attends the college near by. So we have stayed at most the area hotels. This hotel isn't terrible. The location is great! But the rooms are defiantly outdated especially compared to most the other ones in the area. The floor layout of the building is by far the most confusing I've ever seen! The room however was a good size. But it did cost way more then we normally spend so I don't find this hotel worth the cost.

My only go-to choice in traverse city

This was easily the BEST resort in Traverse City. It has the largest beach area, spacious rooms, and super comfortable bedding items. Honestly it's rare to find bed that matches home standards. Also plenty of beach chairs.

The hotel is older and could use some updates. But it was clean. Was concerned being right on a main drag, but was surprisingly quiet in our room. There is a barrier between the rooms and the road. View from patio was awesome. Got pics of a beautiful sunrise right out our door. Lots of baby ducks to make us smile as well.

I'll be completely honest, when i walked in to the creepy old maze of a hallway I was uncertain. Pinestead surprises! We stayed in a Kitchenette and none of us wanted to leave! Everything was clean and well maintained. Staff was helpful and kind. Our room was spacious, cozy, and close enough to the beach to hear the waves! I am disabled and our room was close enough that i could manage to get too and from my car with only my cane (i definitely would have needed the wheelchair had i gone to the pool though as it was opposire end of hotel... but there ARE elevators to accomodate that!l I'm poor, so we would only revisit on off season... but we are already talking about making it our spring break tradition if we can afford it! We loved our weekend with Pinestead Reef! It was honestly, pretty close to perfect spot for us!

Bridget at front desk was very helpful. Hotel/Rooms could be updated but had everything you needed. Clean rooms and very spacious. Best views from balcony that was very large and on waterfront. Room had several air purifiers in the space, along with a musty smell. We only stayed for a few hours - after returning from dinner after checking in, we found that the bed linens not only hadn't been changed, but were stained, wet, and had some sort of bodily fluids on them. Due to booking with Expedia, we were unable to get a refund, but we left and drove home at midnight rather than stay another minute at this place.

This condo was so accessible for us—parking, outside access, taking dog out. No steps!! The condo had comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, large living room area with RECLINER!! The pool was nice. The cookout was great. The only negative is very difficult to get to the water. Would be nice to have something over sand that can be walked on with cane or wheelchair. Would love to return.

Our hotel room was dirty. There were horrific stains (was someone murdered in the doorway?) on the carpet in the hallway and the living room. There was mold on the tub caulk. I killed a crawling psocid on the kitchen counter.
But the worst issue was outside. We rented the room specifically to use the outdoor space. The balcony outside a doorwall had chairs and tables, and steps down to a private beach with nice beach chairs. Unfortunately, the entire outdoor space was infested with tiny bugs; not just at night, but both days. Most dead, some alive. The \"owner\" said they were midges as he tried to hit at them with a towel. The first day we still tried to go down to the beach, where the sand was completely covered with some type of flying ants/fleas that found our feet and legs a potential food source. Needless to say, we found the outside space unusable.
The layout of space -- doorwalls to the the balcony from the kitchen and bedroom -- seems convenient, but also provides limited privacy.
When we mentioned the issues at checkout we were charged full price.

The pool wasn’t working and the smell was rough. The room was clean but it did have an odor. The balcony wasn’t private. The beach hadn’t been kept well and the chairs had bugs and cobwebs on them and no umbrellas. Couldn’t sit in balcony as it was covered in bugs. Wasn’t terrible but would spend the money to stay a little down the way with better accommodations.
