Staff was not friendly at all.
No one ever went out of the way to say hello or make you fell welcome. If you asked for something like extra towels you never received them and no one ever followed up. We encountered several different members of the staff and everyone was unfriendly. The resort is beautiful, the staff not do much. Will not stay again.

Rooms were not clean, our bed sheets had stains on them, bathroom very small and we showered with flip flops as you could see the tiles were never cleaned and also there was no room cleaning service for the whole weekend they only gave you clean towels upon request. Water pressure was absolutely terrible.
Staff were nice nothing to say about them, breakfast was good. Best part was the Aerie restaurant definitely worth the view, vibe and food. This is at driving distance to downtown Traverse Citt so you need a car to go around, they had a shuttle for the beach which that was definitely good to have but for as much as we paid it not worth it

Honestly not a bad place to stay at! Literally the one and ONLY thing that did it for me…was AS we were leaving, we go to grab our phones off the charger’s that are next to the bed!! We SEE a cockroach… we go through everything to make sure we’re not taking anything with us or make sure nothings inside. We left in a rush feeling icky. Also I wouldn’t say it was SUPER quiet because we could hear people passing by.

This hotel has a lot of amenities and activities for guests. The rooms and property are clean. Most of the staff are very friendly and welcoming.

For this type of luxury resort, I had higher expectations. The rooms have some design/quality issues. The shower does not drain properly and at times you end up standing in a pool of water. There is not enough pitch in the tile to force the water to the drain, so you have to use your foot to push it toward the drain. There was still water pooled at the end of the shower the day after using it. The desk and dresser both showed signs of wear/damage. It would be nice to have a mirror in the room somewhere other than the bathroom. Also many of the plugs in the room are hard to reach and a few didn’t work at all. The coffee maker didn’t work properly either and ended up overfilling the cups and making a big mess.

Nice place to stay, but a few items could have made it better. We are a family of 4 (kids are 10&12) so the bed size and space in the condo option seemed like the best option. We booked the condo, which featured a kitchenette, but only had a mini fridge that basically fit drinks. Nearest access to ice was in the main hotel, which was quite a walk. You could not order room service when staying in a condo and it did not read like you could order pickup, so we ate most meals off of the property. When you did order on the property,, everything included an automatic 22% gratuity.

On the positive side: The kids loved the pools!

We booked the room thinking we were going to be on the resort property but we were a mile down the road at these very outdated condos. The room had dead bugs, dirty bedding, and patio door that was lacking the greasing or maintenance to allow it to open easily. There was no box breakfast and beach club that looks inviting did not have any bar or grill. It rained earlier in the day so they closed it down for the whole afternoon and evening. Also, the Den which had all the cool arcade games and axe throwing is only open until 9pm. If you want a great resort go stay at the Tamarack which is in town and a beautiful property which is very clean.

Overall good service. The hot tub wasn’t working properly though and wasn’t very clean, pool was ok. For the price we expected a bit better honestly. Would stay here again but at that price we have stayed at other hotels in the area that we would likely pick over this one and closer to Traverse city downtown.

I booked 3 rooms under my name to celebrate my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. I was told that we could not all be on the same floor even though I booked these rooms under one name months ago. Very poor oversight with their management in my opinion. Why would someone book 3 rooms and not want those rooms by each other?
Indoor pool was very dirty. Bandaids, food items and wet towels left everywhere. Would not expect at a place listed as a “resort”.
The size of the toiletries when you check in your room is laughable. Have had much larger amounts at express hotels that we have stayed at for soccer tournaments.
At Jack’s restaurant there was broken glass and ants under our tables.
I just think that overall things could be done better for a place that is a go to for many families.

We stayed in one of the condos. It was clean and met our needs, but it was quite dated. The dining chairs were wobbly and uncomfortable, and the sofa bed was very lumpy. In addition, the toilet was weirdly low and small. We were within walking distance of the indoor pool and the main towers, so that was nice, but we were disappointed that everything closed so early. If we did an excursion off the property, the pool was already closed by the time we got back, so we were unable to fully experience the amenities.

AC working poorly. At check in we were told that housekeeping was at request only. so we closed all the shades and lowered the ac, only to come back at the end of the day with the room cleaned, shades open and the room being at 69 with AC being set at 64. Room did not get cold overnight and when we woke up it was still 67. now sure if I would recommend this resort.

Very nice anniversary stay with my wife. Fantastic property and good amenities.

Many many pros and just a few cons

Pros

1. Friendliest staff

2. Excellent dining. We HIGHLY recommend Aerie on the 16th floor of the Tower. Also, it’s an awesome touch that it is one of the few places that still has in room dining options.

3. Spa is Amazing!

4. Great indoor pool, sauna, hot tub, tennis court, and basketball court.

5. Comfy bed. We stayed in just a basic king room but it had a nice fridge, couch, and was a good 400 sq ft room. The bed was also VERY comfy.

6. Arcade room was a nice touch with some ax throwing.

Cons

1. Prices are a little higher than norm. Basic room price is equal to a mid tier room we would find at Amway in downtown Grand Rapids (4 star 4 diamond luxury hotel) and it is offseason now to boot, so the prices will only go higher in the months to come. Combined with $50 resort fee per day and it can be a little steep. Granted… you are paying for a lot more options/amenities, but be warned.

2. (This comment is true for any resort) There can be alot of kids here. Very annoying, especially if mommy and daddy are downstairs getting drunk and letting a bunch of 10 year olds run up and down the 6th floor knocking on doors and prompting a call to security from me. lol.

Overall- very very nice stay with pros that far outweigh the cons. Very solid 4 out of 5 stars, if not a little higher (ie 4.25 out of 5).

I would’ve considered an alternate place to stay if I knew my total nightly charge was going to be increased for amenities that I was not using.

Great food at Taproom. We were there when there was multiple schools staying for a basketball tournament. While going to get ice cream in the evening at the candy shop we saw several groups of kids making a mess in the lobby and screaming/running. A group of kids spilled skittles all over and then they threw the bag on the floor, it was a very large bag of skittles, hundreds all over the floor. I feel bad for the staff who has to clean up after these disrespectful unsupervised kids. I think there needs to be some sort of security walking around as I saw a few other families very uncomfortable.
