Hello. We booked this hotel literally for the hot tub for July 4-6. I called to make sure it was running July 1 & it was. My daughter hurt her back and my son hurt his knee at last baseball game right before I booked trip and we knew we’d be hiking at sand dunes and such and wanted the hot tub soooo badly. It was out of order and I am writing to inquire about a partial refund d/t this being our primary reason for booking this hotel in particular. Thank you so much in advance for your consideration.
alan
overall the property was decent. The complimentary breakfast was good. hot pancakes and eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy all cooked. self serve breakfast included cereal and oatmeal. coffee, milk and juice. the pool was nice, unfortunately, the hot tub was not working at the time. we were about 5 miles away from downtown Traverse City. there were a lot of restaurants that were close by.
Michele
I realize its the high season in lower Michigan, but paying over $400 a night for a standard king room was a super gouge — shoulda kept on driving.
Amanda
We only stayed 1 night in this hotel before flying home and it was the most functional hotel we stayed at. They have great places for luggage, the curtains fully blackout behind added trim, and plenty of plugs. It was just clearly thought out well for travelers. It was very modern and the breakfast was good!

Everything was excellent starting from check in to checkout. Breakfast was amazing especially coffee!!! Staffs were very helpful and supportive during the stay!

Rooms could use more outlets for devices. Good location.

Rooms had an odor. no significant interactions with staff but all seemed friendly. breakfast was standard buffet and good. traveled with children. overall property wasn’t maintained well but was close to what we needed, definitely overpriced rate for what you got.

The Holiday Inn Express in Acme (Traverse City), Michigan, is a great place to stay when you plan to sightsee around the city. The rooms are neat with the basic amenities, the staff is friendly and responsive, and the breakfast is tasty and served on time. The variety is typical, but served nicely.
The halls are quiet, but we could hear activity in the room above us. Thankfully, it did not last long, and we eventually managed to get some sleep.
This is our fourth stay at this HIX, and prayerfully it will not be our last, even though we were challenged multiple times for having reserved through Expedia rather than the IHG website! Once they realized were have been longtime Holliday Inn Awardees, they took care of our requests graciously,

Everything was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the bed was too hard.
Judy
Beautiful clean hotel inside and out and friendly staf.
Peter

Employee, pool area was clean and excellent breakfast.

I waited at the check in desk, rang the bell for assistance 4 times, called the hotel with no answer while I was standing in the lobby, and finally yelled for help before sometime came to check me in, and even then they weren't very nice about it. She said \" you game to ring the bell\" and i said i rang it 4 times!
I was in town for the marathon, and they did not offer an early breakfast for runners. I had to stop at a local gas station for a muffin and banana so i had something to eat before my rand. The hot tub was lukewarm. Our toilet kept backing up, and when we notified the front desk, they handed my husband a plunger and made him deal with it. Didn't fully fix the issue, so the next morning, we had to use the bathroom in the lobby instead.
I realize they don't typically clean the room when your only staying for 2 nights, but i figured they'd at least come in and make the beds and pick up the used towels, but it was clear no one ever came in our room while we were gone. Would not recommend.

Amazing room clean, staff awesome, breakfast good
Ryan
Staff was friendly upon check in. They let me check in 20 minutes early, that was appreciated. It's pretty basic as hotels go, priced fairly. The room was clean, bed was very comfortable. But my issue was the lack of hot water. Upon arrival I could only get lukewarm water out of the faucet; my shower this morning ran out of hot water about two minutes in. Not sure if it's a problem for the entire hotel or just the floor I was staying on, but I can't highly recommend a place if I can't have hot water. The location is fine, though.
Brynne

Nice hotel overall but the beds were very sub par.

the room was clean and comfortable. However when we went to take a shower we had np hot water. When we talked to the desk clerk, she told us it was because we were on the 2nd floor and it was very early and cold outside. Never heard the before
Tammy
The maid service came too early the first day of our stay. So they didn’t empty the trash. They did knock and were courteous when I answered the door the door. I asked for extra towels. Why would they wait for normal check out time. Maybe the first floor is where they start?

Always pleased with our stay at Holiday Inn Express no matter where we go.

Staff was smoking out front when we pulled up. It seemed we caught him by surprise. The entire lobby and front desk smelled of cigarette smoke which is bad for us as I am allergic to it. I'm not sure why staff would be smoking near the front door of the property. Seems very disrespectful to guests. Hotel was very noisy, rear entrance was very inconvenient but it is the one we were told to use. Stay elsewhere.

Good stay.
Richard
Great overall hotel.
Clean rooms, common areas spotless, great full breakfast. Would stay again if I'm in the area.
Michael
Nice hotel
arun
Guy working the front desk
Susan
Nice and clean and very comfortable
Garth
The property was fine. A lot of noise from people closing their doors, so not very soundproof. Also, they literally had the trash picked up outside at 1:00 a.m.!
Nadine
Very good experience
Brent
Room was very clean and spacious. Breakfast was awesome.

Hotel Serves a purpose
This hotel is well situated. It's a little tired. Amazing how expensive Travers City is.
brian
We were on the third floor and was able to see the sunset across the bay nightly. Beautiful view of the bay.
Dave
Footprints on the bathroom tile. Grungy, water damage in bathroom and a strange insistence on getting my license plate before I could get a room key. Will not be returning.
Tami
Overall, solid stay.

This hotel was terrible. The smell from the bathroom was so bad that we lasted about 5 minutes in the room. When we left I asked for a refund and the front desk person said I'd have to talk with Expedia.
Expedia told me that I needed to get Holiday Inn to approve the reimbursement. They refused.
I just called the manager and asked for a refund because we couldn't stay in the room because of the smell. She went on the attack said I had caused a scene-- I had very quietly told the front desk person that we'd be leaving because of the smell.
Terrible service. Dirty/smelly room.

Mosquitoes or some close relative all over in entrance ways and steps and in dining room. Gobs. On the floor, window sills, and walls. If they had been in my room I would’ve left and demanded a refund
Jeff
Room was poorly cleaned. Sheets showed signs of not being changed wit

One complaint would be the shower water temperature only got to luke warm. Everybody likes a hot shower and we didn’t get that.
Lynne
Our “standard” room was exceptionally large, comfortable bed, nicely maintained.
Duane
As expected
Linda
Very clean rooms The breakfast was fantastic
Scott
Strong smell of smoke in our room and hallway.
Ivan
Very nice hotel
Robert
The staff was very helpful whenever we needed them. Rooms are nice, mattresses new and comfortable, comforters and pillows exceptionally nice. The biggest negative is location...on the very border of town, with access via a very fast 4 lane highway (no traffic lights).
Vincent
I will do Holliday Inn Express again
Janet
Close to the areas we were visiting
Michele
The staff was all very friendly, cleanings were constantly going on even testing the pool and hot tub water, the room was all redone and very modern and the breakfast was very good!! The only thing is that on their website it showed a water view from the front of the hotel and there wasnt one. But we will definitely return.
danny
they made it clear that no favors would be done for expedia users
Jennifer
Nice hotel

Worth a stay
Will stay here again. Hotel was being renovated during our stay. Room was clean, hotel was reasonably quiet. The pool was well kept with plenty of towels. The breakfast was nice with a good variety of options.
Christie
Clean and comfortable!
Jillian
Convenient and clean

Very well kept property. Desk clerk is very nice.
Terry
it was a good bargain. Property needs updating which is stated as you come in. They are going to start this soon. They did not set out any more of their cinnamon rolls. We got only one. It was only 8:30 when breakfast went for another hour. Staff was pleasant.
Gary
Clean property. Counter staff could take a lesson in courtesy. I am a customer and should be treated as such.
Michael
Inside of our refrigerator was dirty.

We stayed 2 nights with a large group who had several rooms and the first night was fine. Second night we got back to our hotel to find that someone had puked all down the hallway on the 3rd floor with a majority of it directly in front of our room. It had been sitting for a while at this point as well, it was around 9:15 pm. We called down to the front desk as we were not able to get to our room without stepping in it and were told \"we don't have housekeeping until tomorrow\" to which we said that is unacceptable and it needed to be cleaned up as it is a biohazard and it stunk which was making our room stink. She attempted to clean it but still left a large majority of the bits and chunks. It was all there still at 9 am the next morning when we went down for breakfast. So we complained at the desk and the person there tried to argue that it was cleaned up......um nope, still can't get in and out of our room without stepping in it. She was quite rude and tried to say that if they had ran the carpet cleaner the night before, they would have had more complaints than just leaving it which is utter crap since about half of our group was ON THAT FLOOR AND ALL OF US WERE DISGUSTED!!! She then said she would send someone right up to clean it......someone finally showed up an hour later. The elderly gentleman in the room across from us had to drag their luggage through it to leave. Then refused to discount the room due to these issues because we booked through expedia

I liked the fact that their breakfast area was over organized, and they kept it stocked up from the time breakfast started until it finished. I also liked the fact the pool was open from 5:30am to 11pm everyday. Makes it very convenient for everyone.
Carol
Thanks!
Great service and breakfast was fantastic. They were remodeling, but they were super conscientious about it and even offered extra bonus points.
Kevin
Very clean and safe

Staff was courteous. Helped out when I left an item behind.

Everything was clean.
The room was beautiful.
We like the way the breakfast was made available--
to pick up food in a room just for that purpose. No one
was just passing through the room where the food was.

I got here after my flight landed at 12am, which I called to let them know it would be late and no one was at the counter. I waited 35 minutes for someone after ringing the bell for service 4 times, and calling the front desk number as well. rooms are way outdated and beds are very uncomfortable\ and sunken in and wore out. very old and uncomfortable. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN

Traverses city
The ladies who served breakfast were awesome. They were so friendly and caring. The man that was at the front desk when we checked in was not very friendly. No eye contact. Just ran through the lines and seemed irritated when we would ask a question.

Great location quiet and clean

The middle aged man working the front desk has no customer service skills. Upon checking in, we were given a room on the first floor. Upon entering our room, the toilet had urine stains all over it. When I informed this same man of the concern, he didn't even have the decency to offer an apology. I had to ask for a new room and he then gave us one. To make matters worst, the elevator was covered in coffee which didn't get cleaned until the next day. Additionally, there were no cinnamon rolls which is standard for Holiday Inn Express. This hotel is overpriced, unclean, and is not customer first.

Minimal Breakfast should been communicated. Mask requirements have been lifted so assumed breakfast would be offered.

Good location and clean laundry room available. Customized breakfast service. Pleasant staff.

Great location but difficult to find in dark; more lighting and signage needed; comfortable but needs updating

Friendly service, clean, the pool and hot tub were great. The grab n go breakfast was the best yet to date with all this covid crap!

Check in was smooth, Man helping us with very friendly. All and all a pretty decent place. I like that the pool and hot tub was open later than the typical 10 pm we usually come across. Breakfast to go bags were great! This hotel was the perfect location for us. Close to Turtle Creek casino, and not too far of a drive to downtown. We would would stay here again!

Clean and quiet, as expected from a Holiday Inn! Too much writing is required in the comment section!
