It looks nothing like the pictures you n the site. They changed my room without notifying me when asked about the suite that I had booked he said it was under construction and wasn’t available. I had no microwave and , phone didn’t work in the room they placed me in just bad experience all the way around. Will not be returning.

No TV in rooms, renovations were being done but not advertised. Ice machines on floors not working. Only machine near the gym was working! Common microwave was filthy!! A/C in room was so loud, we had to keep it at a higher temperature so it didn’t make loud noises!!

Active Construction Site, Miserable stay

The entire hotel was under construction with hammering and nail guns going on in the rooms next to ours until 8:45 at night. Took a shower, somewhat clean bathroom, towel rack fell off barely touched it. Front desk had a list with 3 rooms on it that were available unable to change our room away from noise of construction & unable to give discount or refund because we boooked through hotels.com. HOtels.com does not have customer service number to contact for help. Won't be using hotels.com for travel anymore.

This picture does not depict my experience!

I had to laugh at the photo of the outdoor area on the email because what I experienced was the total opposite of the photo. No cushions, no organization, nothing appealing. I know the hotel is undergoing renovation and the lobby area and most rooms have been updated but the hallway carpet was filthy and looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks. I had reservations for two nights but checked out after one. The area did feel safe and the staff were cordial and helpful, but the areas not renovated were just nasty.

Never Stay at this Hell Hole

The receptionist at the front desk was extremely rude. They didn’t have any king bed rooms available (which was the room type we reserved) and the only option was two queen or full size beds whichever it was. We accepted and went to the room which was smelly and extremely hot to the point it took all night to cool off. When I confronted her she said that was all that was available and if we didn’t want to stay we could go somewhere else! When I told her that Marriott would not be happy with the conditions of the hotel and the rudeness of the service she stated that they were independently owned and they didn’t care! We had been traveling all day and needed our rest so we settled but I was appalled by the level of service this person was giving! Later I came down to see if they may have something for a headache and witnessed this same front desk worker being extremely rude to another customer at which time she canceled his reservation against his will and told him to find another place to stay because he wasn’t staying there! This type of behavior is extremely unacceptable and should not be tolerated by ANY business owner much less a corporate franchise such as Marriott! The rooms and the entire hotel wasn’t up to par to be a two star hotel such as Motel 6!! These are all facts!!

If you want to feel like you are staying at a CONSTRUCTION SITE then by all means stay here. The pictures are not true to the conditions of the rooms, they are way more outdated. No AC on the floors and dirty and old elevator. Construction debris on the floors and carpet as well as in the room, paint splatters everywhere. Only one lamp as the light in the room, broken TV and Window. Bugs in the shower and ashes on the counter even though it was a non smoking room. We ordered Breakfast and never got any, 25$ in the wind… DO NOT STAY HERE

WASTE OF MONEY!

If I could leave ZERO stars I would.. We stayed here one night on our way to Panama City. I booked a room with a king bed and pull out couch. The room was TINY. Seemed like it used to be an extra storage room that they converted to a hotel room. Our room was also HOT.. There was no AC in the hallway or the rooms on the third floor. We called the front desk at around 10 because we were crammed and HOT.. They thankfully moved us to a room on the first floor (but not without an attitude). This hotel should be ashamed… the pictures on the advertisement are misleading and this hotel is a WASTE of money!

A disappointing stay that could have been better

my grandson and I checked in on a Sunday. The room's carpet had a large stain in the middle of the room & it smelled like mildew. i couldn't get the deadbolt to retract after it popped out so i couldn't close the door. i went downstairs to tell the manager at the desk he offered to change my room. he showed me two more rooms both with large stains on the carpets. He said they are about to do renovations so no carpets are being cleaned. he showed me another room carpet dirty but no large stains i decided to take it since he told me he didn't have time to show me another room and it looked and smelled better than the others. I left & came back later that evening and upon further inspection the room was dirty, only the beds were made, sticky stuff on the night table with cup ring stain, bathtub had ring around it and dirt in tub, dust everywhere. i stayed 3 nights asked for my room to be cleaned everyday it was finally cleaned the day before i checked out. and i only received 1 set of towels when there should have been 2. At checkout I voiced my dissatisfaction to the general manager she apologized and said they were cleaning carpets. I guess the manager, just chose to show me rooms that were in that condition. he was very rude as I spoke to the general manager making smart remarks and rolling his eyes. he was very unprofessional. don't know what i did to get on his bad side but the rest of the front desk/staff were very nice, professional and accommodating.

The rooms smells terrible like mildew or mold was in the first room we were in and when they moved us to another room you could still smell and unpleasant odor maybe from a leak in the bathroom or the air conditioner. I didn’t complain to anyone I just went and bought some Lysol Disinfectant Spray and suffered it out . I’m sorry I wasn’t pleased at all, but thankful that l had a place to stay while I was there in Jackson .

We would have picked somewhere else if we had known the hotel actually did NOT offer what we were looking for. We should have been advised as such or at least offered a discounted price.

Don’t stay here unless you like to stay in the ghetto! Homeless living in the trees all around the property! We completely unloaded for a Florida trip and carried everything to our room for our safety! Dirty soap in the shower! Carpet stained! Noisy! Under construction too! First thing I did the next day was to get to our Florida condo and take a bath! Made me feel grungy staying there!

The room was adequate but the TV was not in working condition and maintenance had to come up. The phone never worked. Elevator is extremely slow and does not sound safe, needs inspection. The bistro downstairs served me wine in a champagne flute and for the guest who would not know better that would be okay however I know better. I was charged $13 for what would've been a 6 ounce pour in a wine glass for about a 4 ounce pour champagne flute. Total rip off and a poor reflection of a Marriott a restaurant/bistro that has no wine glasses but yet has a bar

There was a hole in the wall, one drawer was broken & hanging crooked on the dresser, the chair was dirty, there was a huge stain on the comforter & the bathroom was dirty. There wasnt even the tiniest piece of grass for our dogs to potty even though this was advertised as a dog friendly hotel. The only saving grace was the nice employees working the desk.

We made a reservation because we were evacuating from New Orleans due to Hurricane Ida. They gave away our room and told us it was “first come, first serve” even though we made a reservation the day before. No one even had the courtesy to call and tell us that we no longer had a room, so we had to drive back to New Orleans at 1:00 in the morning on the day of the storm with our 2 children and 2 dogs and figure out a new plan. By that time, all hotels were booked. We ended up having to drive through the outer rain bands of the storm with our scared kids and dogs, landing in Alabama and sitting in our car for 12 hours until something opened up.

I did not like anything about this property. I felt unsafe. I moved my car 3 times. I felt the hotel was unclean. The carpet was filthy. The air conditioning started leaking on the carpet the day I was checking out. Restroom doors and walls had dirt on them and was missing wood. An over all AWFUL experience. I had to stay an extra night and checked in to a better hotel. Extremely disappointing and I am a Bonvoy member.

Hotel needs remodeling!

I expected better conditions of the hotel room. The bed sham was not place on the boxspring correctly, full length
mirror hazy was not clear, sofa old need cleaning,
refrigerator cabinet & drawers had clipping, outside hallway rug needs replacing old . During the pandemic should have been a time to update the hotel. Very disappointed.

I arrived at the hotel for check-in and was informed that my reservation was given away and that I was being placed in another suite that was big enough to accommodate myself or my guest. We were moved to a room that had mold on the ceiling that wasn’t fixed but covered up with spray paint so we requested another room that had they same mold smell. I would recommend this hotel to any one at all the over all experience was awful.

Check-in process was very unacceptable. The rep was rude on her phone talking about how she didn't need this job etc. They didn't have any keys for the room someone had to walk me to my room and let me in. I made my reservation a week in advance and paid in full for a king bed. At check-in she proceeds to tell me they only have one dbl bed available. And still charged a extra $40 dollars for incidentals. I will not be staying at this location again. To travel 8hrs and receive the service I did was not worth the money I spent.

in Jackson in the early afternoon on April 15, I called the hotel and was told I did not have a reservation on April 15
but had one on April 25. I had no need for one on that date.

The to-go breakfast was fine. However, my room was not very clean. The first room that I was assigned had urine in the toilet that had not been flushed. The cabinet door to the refrigerator was broken. I immediately asked for another room. The second room had dirty pillow cases. I could still smell the odors in the pillows from the previous customers. The shower had soap scum on the shower wall.

Check in went well, and the staff was courteous and masked. When we got to the room, we found the carpet worn, the furniture very worn, the desk chair badly ripped and taped. The light over the sink didn’t work and there was no trash can. The paint on the ceiling of the bathroom was peeling. I tried to call front desk and the phone didn’t work. I had to go down and talk to the guy. He was very nice and came up to change the bulb and find a trash can. By that time the phone was working, but when I checked it later it wasn’t.

This hotel overbooked, leaving me without a room on a 15 hour drive and DID NOT LET ME KNOW until 8 pm the day of my booking when I was already several hours into my drive. Expedia had to book me three hours away. I am a woman that has to frequently drive long distances alone, and always plan as much as possible so I can stay safe. Not ok, and put me in a terrible position.

They need to do better

This was the worst Courtyard I have stayed at by far. The room had a wet damp musty smell. The carpets were full of stains. The room never got to a comfortable temperature the whole time we were there. The refrigerator was in a cabinet where the bottom had been either water damaged and rotted out or just rotted out period. Trim and mirror were barely hanging on the wall. We were there for a basketball tournament and had about 12 rooms total and everyone in the group had issues in their rooms. Fire pit outside did not work. Our window was open when we checked in. Not sure if that was an attempt to air the room out, keep it cool, or was overlooked by housekeeping.

This hotel is tired and wasn’t as advertised. We had a puppy with us and paid the additional $50 cleaning fee but it was quite evident that the room had never been truly cleaned. The carpet was stained. The desk chair vinyl seat was completely cracked and was worn down to the white cushion underneath. The sheets were very worn and the towels were thin.

All in all we should have asked for a refund, at least for the pet deposit because we left it better than we found it - and that’s not saying a lot. I’m a loyal Marriott guest but will look more closely next time as not all the owners adhere to the same standards of the corporate brand.

Find another place to stay!

My family and i needed A place to stay for the night after driving 12 hours from North Carolina. I looked Up some hotels on the route going home to Louisiana and decided to stay in Jackson MS. Why not? We haven’t been and thought it would be nice to see how Jackson MS is and it will be another 4 hour 30 mins drive home next day. Well, found this hotel and it had some good ratings on here and decided to give it a shot! Upon arriving I’ve waited 30 mins to get the room i reserved. Lady at front desk put us in a room that was HOT!!!! The AC said 61 degrees but the room felt like 80! We also had a newborn!! Called front desk and told her what the problem was and she put us in another room. AC still wasn’t working properly but it wasn’t as hot as the first room! Carpet was dirty had a big stain in the center of the room! Don’t let the pictures fool you. It was a rundown hotel that needs to be updated!!!
