Pool was heated which was really nice..the hot tub was out of order. Room clean though there was a rust brown mark on the carpet. It's a big hotel with large groups in residence so good for a work stay. Would have really liked it if there was water in the rooms or somewhere to refill my water bottle that wasn't the gym as gym closes by 10 pm. Staff lovely as always

We usually stay round the corner at Copthorne Tara but my son was also staying so we decided to book as there was a (very nice) pool. We also decided to take advantage of the upgrade offer to Premium. We read the descriptions of bath with shower, dressing gowns, mini bar, extra room, higher floors etc. ….. we received NONE of this. Put on 2nd floor, beds jammed into room. Bathroom with pocket door so my head was literally 3 feet away from the toilet. No bath just a small shower tray. No mini bar, no bathrobes. Whilst they say facilities may differ at locations there was nothing in this room that would differentiate as a “Premium” room. When we queried with staff they asked us room number and looked at system and informed us it was a Premium room (would think they had never been in that room ever). Refused to give any refund of the upgrade we paid for 2 nights and dismissed our photos from their website of the “upgrades” compared to their photos. Would never stay here again, Copthorne Tara standard rooms are twice the size.

The rooms are very small, like you can’t turnaround in the bathroom. If you have a 38” or greater waist forget about getting to the toilet comfortably. The room has very little storage, definitely not enough for two adults. Overall the staff was great. Every staff member I encountered was great, friendly, and welcoming. However, due to the size of the room, along with the lack of storage I am not sure I see myself returning. If you are solo, it’s probably fine but with some, absolutely not.

We found all the staff really friendly in the hotel and it’s a 5 min walk from the tube station, the hotel has a large swimming pool which was a great way to relax at the end of the day, the breakfast we very good and I would be very happy to stay here again when in London.

AVOID THIS OVER-RATED HOTEL.

SPA OUT OF ORDER FOR 1MONTH+ jacuzzi hot tub and steam room not working. Staff member confirmed been broke for long time. But no mention on hotel.com website nor direct on HI website either.
Need to bring your own padlock for lockers. Sauna is in charging room so can’t enjoy with your partner etc.

ROOM (Standard King) very small. Unable to hang more than 2 items of clothes up as would drape over fridge in the same cupboard. We also had to change room at midnight, as our Air Con unit was so loud it sounded like a helicopter. Maintenance came but couldn’t fix.

Manager was quite rude when alerted, and also said spa was complimentary and not something we’d paid extra for. No accountability for false advertising/not making patrons aware prior to actually going down to the spa area. It was the whole reason we booked this hotel!! No apology offered.

BREAKFAST was decent and staff there were nice.

WOULD STAY ELSEWHERE IN FUTURE. Very disappointed with the attitude and hotel advertising, ie saying spa was there to relax in etc when they’ve known for at least a month this isn’t the case.

All fine but did book hotel primarily for use of spa with son. Jacuzzi not working and separate sauna so didnt bother. Make sure if you want breakfast you double check price as price at check in (which i dithered about) was less than what i was charged next morning.

Pillows were terrible and constant fan blowing even with all air con etc off. Told gym/pool shut at 8pm, arrived at 7pm to be told now shut. Went the next morning to be told my 13 yr old couldn’t use gym even though we had previously. Hot tub and steam room out of order!

Terrible choice. When entering the ladies changing room in the pool area a male staff was inside cleaning. I then noticed a female staff telling him he was not permitted in the changing room. A little while later a seen three men in the ladies changing room appearing to look at the floor. Two of the men were in business suits looking to be some type of manager for the facility and another male worker. I find this behaviour concerning and could be quite traumatizing. A couple days prior women were naked changing and in sauna. I needed to bring this forward as I did not feel safe in the environment and hope this will prevent any ill harm to anyone else.

No conditioner, no lotion and to ask for face cloths twice before receiving any.
Hot tub was out of order. When I went to ask for staff assistance I was told to wait and she never came back.

No dental kits available. Had to ask twice only to find out at 10pm none were available. Really bad as no time in the morning to purchase elsewhere. Pool closes at 10pm but was denied access at 9pm. No signs or info. Booked the hotel with a pool to relax my arthritis before bed after city walking. Was in agony all night.
Breakfast good. Room was good.

Great location. Walking distance to Royal Albert Hall and Science, Natural History, V & A museums. Close to High St Kensington tube station.
Room clean on arrival and cleaned daily during our stay.
Enjoyed the indoor pool.

Booked for valentines long weekend as a family member was getting married (Friday-Monday) due to the facilities (swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna etc) firstly the room was small. Shower sprayed water out all over the floor so we had to use extra towels to soak up the water. We had forgotten toothpaste but were told reception have spare toiletries incase you forget anything so when we asked them we were told to come back in the morning as he didn't have any. When we returned in the morning we found a vending machine which charged us £3 for a one use toothpaste tube and when my partner asked the guy at reception about it he told him it was nothing to do with them and it was an outside company (still didn't give us any extra toothpaste) Went to the pool in the morning for a swim and half of it was closed off for swimming lessons which wasn't advertised. Jacuzzi was out of order (also wasn't notified previous to stay) so everyone was squished into one half of the pool where people were trying to do lengths so not relaxing at all. The saunas were in the changing rooms as well and not near the pool which was another let down. When we contacted the hotel for a partial refund as we were really disappointed in the facilities that we thought we were getting and didn't. The hotel refused any type of refund they did eventually offer to change our room but we had to be at the wedding and didn't have time at that point. Definitely won't be staying again

The best part of the hotel was the pool- although it was crowded no matter the time of day. The standard rooms are extremely small and not just by American standards! By Parisian and London standards too! There is no TV offering for small kids (no CBeebies! No access to Netflix! Can’t even purchase a Disney movie!) and everyone I interacted with in room service was inefficient or rude.

We are very happy with the service we received from this hotel and the staff. Georgina at the reception was very helpful in particular. Our room was lovely and comfortable with good facilities. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable stay in London, as the hotel is located in a very central area of Kensington with easy access to transport facilities.

Very clean and comfortable, lovely communally areas , the room was quiet small with some large unnecessary furniture like the over large side table that really had no function other than to clutter the small space not sure the chaise was really necessary a couple of chairs would give more space but it’s the only fault and not a major one . We booked this hotel specifically because it had a hot tub and a steam room and both were out of service. They were understaffed for the 3pm check in rush. Synthetic pillows were very lumpy. The breakfast buffet was decent, but with such a wealth of amazing options on the doorstep, not worth the £. Saving grace was the kind staff, the size of the room, and the location.

The decor in the hotel is a bit tired and the breakfast is not the best I've seen in a 4 star hotel. That said, the room was clean and comfortable, the staff were very friendly, and the spa, although not the highest quality, had a great range of gym equipment, a large pool (for UK hotels) and an excellent sauna in each changing room. The steam room and jacuzzi were out of action when I stayed, but I wasn't that bothered by it since it's the post-gym sauna that I really wanted. This is my third stay, and I will definitely return.

Booked this hotel due it advertising a health club/spa. For our stay, the jacuzzi, steam room and sauna were all out of order. Additionally, half of the swimming pool was cordoned off for a child's swimming lesson. The full extent of the 'spa' was half of a swimming pool with a noisy swimming lesson taking place. Upon raising this with staff, we were offered a coffee as compensation.

Room was also cold, and noisy, with rubbish bins being collected at 7am right below our window on a Saturday.

Would not recommend anything about this hotel.

Room was not as requested and rhe manager at hat tome Santos was not very helpful. He did not alert wife as to the upgrade and then did not inform her a time to come down the next day to look at what was available. Therefore we had to stay in the same room. The receptionist on the Saturday was polite and courteous but could not assit.

Excellent amenities but the friendlies of the staff stood out. From the reception staff, concierge right through to the cleaning staff everyone was friendly and approachable. I don't normally complete review requests but it would have been remiss of me not to have responded.

Our room was quite small and a bit chilly, there was an electric heater plugged in when we arrived but it was immaculately clean.
The staff were extremely courteous, helpful and responded to any requests we had very quickly. Would definitely stay again, the breakfast was delicious and plenty of it. We didn’t use the health club facilities so cannot comment on that.

The room was clean, and the staff were incredibly nice, friendly, and genuinely willing to do whatever was needed to ensure comfort. The location is easily the best thing about this hotel. I was attending a conference at Olympia, which is around a 20-minute walk, but the hotel is right next to Kensington High Street station, giving excellent transport connections across London. There are also plenty of food and drink options nearby, including Whole Foods.

I was pleased to see that the sauna in the men’s changing room has been replaced, as the old one was quite dated. The only downside was how busy the sauna was, likely because the steam room and hot tub were temporarily out of action due to refurbishment.

While the hotel could benefit from some modernisation, this isn’t essential — and realistically, once that happens, prices will likely rise significantly. There really isn’t another hotel in the area that offers this level of value for money.

I’ve now stayed here five times over six years, and for what I need, it’s perfect. Some complaints you see in other reviews feel unrealistic given the location. London is one of the most expensive cities in Europe, if not the world. If you want luxury at a higher standard, you should expect to pay considerably more. If you want excellent value in one of London’s most desirable neighbourhoods, this hotel is a fantastic choice.

Staff were great, having the pool was a plus, the room was small bathroom even smaller.
I am 5’11” and had to duck to get under the shower.
The room was clean but need some work, carpet was stained furniture thread bare and the closet felt like it was going to fall apart. The mattress was two pushed together so not really a king.
The rooms were not sound proof so could hear the other rooms TV, and their conversation. They also had work being done in the hallway most mornings

The rooms were cleaned daily although the rubbish from the bathroom bin was emptied into the bin in the bedroom which was not emptied. Swimming lessons in pool on the saturday, jacuzzi not working, neither of which we were told about when booking.

Steam room and jacuzzi weren't working, and hadn't been informed of this before I booked. Roshani however was polite, patient & compromising with my disappointment. I was offered a reasonable solution, and I hope this will be adhered to on my next visit. Breakfast was good, nice room with a fridge, well happy with the bathtub. Everyone friendly. The lockers in the spa are terrible, they need immediate attention! It's the maintenance that's letting this place down. The sauna was only 70° when I got in there, and cold air comes in every time the door opens, went up to 90° though when we asked. I hope for improvements when I return in the next few months, but I was fairly satisfied overall.
