Cozy room perfect for two people. Very accommodating when our flight got delayed and helped us rebook our same room. Perfect location, close to trains and buses, and right off the border of central london. All of your essentials can be found right around the corner. Friendly staff! Would definitely recommend

The room was not cleaned properly, was promised a city view but we couldn’t even see out of our window, we only had 2 plugs, the rest were European plugs. The staff were always just sat down on there phones and when we asked for towels because our towel stunk of semen, she took about 30 minutes. I wouldn’t not recommend.

Woke up covered in bed bug bites. Bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. The front desk staff seemed less than interested in asking about why I was checking out early and had no follow up when I told them there were bed bugs in the room. Not even an offer to refund the two days I wouldn’t be staying in their unhygienic accommodation. Pathetic.

Upon arrival, the receptionist was very polite and it was so quick to check in. The room was ideal for a solo traveller staying for one night. The room, wardrobe and shower room / toilet was all very clean with no complaints. The location was exceptional being such a short walk to Hyde park, Harrods, public transport

Refurbishment continues at a good pace. My room was freshly done, quite lovely, and remarkably spacious. Staff was on hand to check me in, even long before normal check-in hours, and did not charge me a premium for early check-in (about 2 hours early). They had a little difficulty finding my prepayment record, but gamely continued searching the system until they found it. The location is absolutely stunning, half a block from Kensington Gardens and only a five-minute walk to the restaurants and shops on Kensington High Street. This hotel is an excellent quality for the price, and I will certainly stay here again.

Staff is super nice & helpful. The breakfast is excellent with a wide variety of buffet style offerings. Older building could hear the people upstairs walking around all night. Thankfully they were kind enough to move me to a quieter room. Carpets are worn in the room. Perfect location near Kensington Palace.

Great location and amazing breakfast for the price of the stay but as usual single room very small though spotless. However television not working. No info re wi fi sign in either in the room or on the card holding the key. Apparently it was in reception but not pointed out. No way in the room to contact reception to ask so any query like this meant a trip 4 floors down to reception. Having said all this for £50 it was amazing value and I would recommend and will certainly stay again.

Ideal location for Royal Albert Hall

Older hotel with friendly staff and decent continental breakfast. The bed was comfortable and nice clean bathroom with lovely white soft fluffy towels, good shower with loads of hot water. The room itself was smaller than expected and downside, there was no drawers only shelves inside a small cupboard which was impossible to put anything in as the shelves faced sideways not to the front with a few hangers for hanging clothes above an ironing board with iron on high shelf above. There was coffee,tea and kettle and bottle of water. Wifi reception was a problem as kept buffering when trying to watch a tennis match. Excellent location for Royal Albert Hall about 7-10 minute walk.

This is a lovely hotel in an even lovelier area. The room we had was adequate though snug, no extra room for sure. The bathroom was spacious by London standards. The furnishings were adequate though a dresser would have been helpful. The bed was very comfortable.

The hotel serves a lovely breakfast that surpassed our expectations. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

Overall, the hotel is well worn and adequately kept up.

The location is fabulous, just blocks from Kensington Gardens and the Palace. A decent walk to the tube station and many restaurants to choose from in the area makes it a convenient location.

Old and extremely rundown in a convenient location near one of the entrances to Hyde Park I was given a very small room and when I asked to borrow an umbrella for the evening since it was raining the manager told me they had none if a hotel has no umbrella to provide its guest in London You know there’s a problem The mattress was way too soft If you have a bad back you will not be able to get up in the morning

Wonderful hotel. We really liked the Kensington neighborhood and it was close to the stop for our hop-on-hop-off bus. We only had 24 hours in London but we enjoyed this hotel. I thought the breakfast was excellent. Anyone who complains has never had a stale continental breakfast in the US.

The only note I would make is that the lift is very small and was being repaired when we were visiting. We didn’t have a problem carrying our luggage up the stairs but it might be a problem for those who are handicap or have trouble with stairs.

Will definitely return if we can!

Good size room at front location was really great. Kensington Gardens 100 metres away and local shops, cafes and restaurants close by. Also 5 minutes to train station. Pick up point for hop on hop off buss also 5 mins.

Beautiful converted old mansion just about a block away from Kensington High Street. Perfectly located so it is nice a quiet. Be aware that only two suites have A/C but you usually do not need it. Just as an FYI.

Lovely period property in an excellent location in Kensington. Shopping, cafes , public transport all close by and is across the road from Kensington palace. Breakfast was more than enough. Reception staff very friendly. Nice decorative touches around the hotel. Bed very comfortable! Well priced property for it's location.

Decent stay. Excellent location, near Hyde park and high street Kensington. Bit of a walk but to the closest tube station. Service was good and the hotel staff were quite friendly and flexible. Only thing that wasn’t as per expectation was the size of the room - it was too small. And given there was no AC, the fan could have been faster. Overall good stay.

The hotel was the perfect location for us as we were going to a concert at the Royal Albert Hall and it was within easy walking distance. I was a bit surprised how small and dated the room was and how different the dining room looked from the photo’s on the website. The breakfast was ok and the room was clean although it was incredibly hot - there was a ceiling fan but it was far too noisy to have running at night, we managed to open the windows so it was bearable.
The staff were pleasant and helpful and based on the location I would probably stay there again.

One issue with being a solo traveler is that those rooms are often the worst ones in the hotel. This room was very small and at the side. The chest of drawers was chipped and pitted and the glass-topped desk was dirty. It would have been a much nicer room if the hotel took out the desk entirely and replaced it with a side table, put in a taller and narrower chest of drawers near the window and mounted the TV on the wall. Then the wardrobe doors could be fully opened. Replacing the carpet would be a good idea as well.

The hotel is in a great location, however, and was quiet. The breakfast was very good and and the reception staff was friendly and helpful.

Lovely comfortable bed with lovely sheets. The room was small with a need for some decoration. The shower was just strong enough to wet us no shower curtain but the shower was not strong enough to splash. The window next to it had a rotting frame. The opening limiter on the bedroom window was broken

Good Hotel in a great area.

Our room was very clean other than the balcony which could have used a good scrub. The bed was comfortable, everything in the bathroom worked as it should and breakfast was excellent. The hotel is perfectly situated for visiting the Albert Hall and several museums and there are lots of restaurants in the area. We were there during the warm spell over Easter and the ceiling fan helped but air con would be better if we were to stay in warm weather again.

Great location and staff were excellent. I was able to leave my bags at reception when I got there several hours before check in and when I did check in my bags were in my room. Only real downside was the size of the room--probably the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in with literally just enough room for a double bed and a small desk. But I suppose I shouldn't expect any different in London! I wouldn't mind staying again the next time I'm in London but maybe would pay for a bigger room.

Outstanding location one block from Hyde Park and Kensington Garden. Close to the Underground, three stops all within a kilometer. Steps to shopping and restaurants. Beautiful old building.
