The room was a very good size for a small family in a great location. The bed was quite hard so may not be comfortable for everyone. We made good use of the nespresso coffee machine. Quite a lot of traffic noise at night. Would've been great if there had a been a mini fridge in the room so we could keep milk for our little one.

Misleading listing and unhelpful staff

The hotel room was significantly smaller than what is advertised. I asked the front desk about it and they said they only have a couple rooms that size and most guests get smaller rooms than they advertise. There wasn't enough space to walk around the sides of the bed or open the bathroom door more than a foot. The shower and sink drains were slow and backed up quickly. I asked if maintenance could fix the drains and the front desk ignored the request. The hot and cold lines were also backwards.

The little things that made it miserable

It was okay at best, arrived to a modern looking beautifully air conditioned reception, staff were friendly but didn’t give any info around breakfast times etc.

Got to the room which was at 23degrees and air con set to lowest it could be, once we returned later in the night it had risen to 26degrees……… bathroom was clean and nice but had a drain smell to it, also shower had little water pressure.

Balcony was nice addition although privacy screens both sides would have been nice.

I noticed they tried charging my card in the middle of the night which confused me, turned out the receptionist at arrival charged the wrong amount, instead of apologising I was just told I had an outstanding charge to pay as if it was my fault!
Also hotels.com booking said breakfast was included in the booking but when we arrived for breakfast we were told we hadn’t paid for it!

All in all, the hotel was nice, modern and clean but too many little things let it down, I wouldn’t be rushing back to an ibis anytime soon.

Unfortunately my room was quite dirty, dust all over the cups teaspoons and tray they were on, dust on the ledge below the mirror in the bathroom, dirty toilet, dirty bathroom tap, hair on the bathroom floor, shower drain was removed and left on the shower floor not sure why. opened one of the long life milks and it was lumpy. Staff were very kind and friendly though on arrival and checking out. Walkable to Kensington gardens or some nice cafes

I like the interiors. Customer Service is great, very helpful staff. Most of all breakfast spread is fantastic! The establishment is very clean and orderly, and i love the interior of the room, the lobby, the breakfast area. Special mention is EVA, the lady the staff assigned at the breakfast area. She is very polite, friendly and accomodating. Excellent service!

Our first allocated room was on the basement level and although the room was clean and tidy there was a very unpleasant odour in the room. Probably due to lack of airing.

The room we were subsequently allocated was clean and tidy.
Room lighting dull. Brighter lighting needed.
No towel rails in bathroom therefore nowhere to hang wet towels.

The location is excellent ,just a short walk to the Natural History Museum and the V& A museum, The room was good ,clean ,comfortable beds ,decent bathroom but it was a little dark and at times a bit too warm .The staff were always helpful and pleasant .I must give a special mention to the girls serving breakfast excellent customer service . The continental breakfast was very good with a wide range of options but the only snacks on offer for later were Pizzas ,OK if you like them .

There is no railing on the front entrance with steep steps and my mom took a tumble. None of the staff asked if she was okay. We asked her early check-in and we were denied.

There are no hooks in the washroom so there's no place for us to put towels or clothes. The two light in the room to a long time to turn on so you've got was flickering a while.

Nice room very compact and bijou!

It was a nice place to stay as we had to visit French consulate nearby so very handy. Also opposite Gloucester Road tube station and Waitrose opposite side of road.

Could leave our luggage there for the day which was really helpful.

Decor theme was London Underground so had quirky carpet, fixings, pictures etc. Was in room 301 which was quiet and near to the lift.

This is a good spot if you need a simple place to crash in London. It's a bit expensive given the tiny room size, but it was clean and convenient to the Tube. There is a Waitrose across the street and many dining options in short walking distance. It would be nice if the 20-somethings that are working the \"desk\" in the lobby were a bit friendlier.

Hotel is in great location near the tube stop and restaurant,food stores, hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Check in was easy had luggage room if you check in early , lobby very inviting to relax and enjoy!! The decor was fun !! Room was nice could use maybe a few hooks to hang coats. As room was small! Bed was very comfortable, shower nice. Sadly both lifts were broken so I had to climb 56 stairs to my room then another 17to the breakfast room. It wouldn’t be a problem if I didn’t have a bad back and can’t climb stairs. They got the very small lift fix after two days the other one still not in use. We where there for five days we did enjoy the hotel and staff was so very friendly and helpful. !!!

The hotel location is excellent, just across subway station, markets, restaurants. 10 min walk to V&A museum. Coffee, tea and a cookie in the room. Hotel has elevator, friendly staff, water in the lobby. Good buffet breakfast, chorizo, ham, cereals, juices, milk, cheeses, fresh fruits, etc. I will definitely go back. 5 start property for me. :)

Up my arrival, I was told that I couldn't check in a bit earlier because there wasn't a room available, which was not accurate because my friend checked in and was not satisfied with his room, asked to change twice, so apparantly there were two rooms available. Also, the aircon was not working properly despite me reporting it twice. What was also quite disappointing was the unfriendliness of the women at reception, which was basically two chairs at a table with a laptop. The only positive was the location of the hotel which was fantastic with a 2 minute walk to the Gloucester Road Station and close to many of the museums, restaurants and cafes. I probably won't book here again.

Great location and it’s a nicely decorated hotel.

We were placed on the fifth floor in a tiny room. The bathroom door only opened a tiny amount as it hit the bed. So you had to squeeze into the bathroom between the bed and the large wall mounted TV.

The bathroom was equally tiny.

Floorboards were incredibly squeaky in this room and the room next door which woke us up every time somebody next door walked around during the night.

There was also a loud banging noise that appeared to be coming from the roof which woke us several times and the two nights we were away.

It’s a pity there were these issues as it was otherwise a nice hotel but sadly, when the main reason for choosing a hotel is to sleep, being kept awake makes this hotel a no go.

Otherwise it was fine, the location is great but beware that the Gloucester Road tube stop does not have escalators or elevators except one elevator for the Piccadilly line.

The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The main problem was the room was very small. It would have been fine for a single person but not for 2. Room 302. The room was clean and tidy. The kettle, mugs etc were under the hanging rail which was small. The shower was ok but no pressure in the shower. On the plus side the location is great and it is a bonus with the double glazing but you can also open the window which you can't at a lot of hotels.

The hotel is in a great location close to the tube station. However it is situated on a main road, so very noisy traffic wise.The room was VERY small. No refrigerator, no desk, for two travelers the room was too small. No fitted sheet, that’s probably more of a personal preference. Bed wasn’t bad, but wasn’t great. Bathroom was adequate. Room was clean, breakfast for £10 not that great. Not many choices. BUT if you are staying for just one night, it’s ok.

Our shower did not get warm and it had very low pressure. Otherwise, this hotel was great for my boyfriend and I’s week long stay in London! Its right across the street from the underground so you can get anywhere super easily…there is also great food/drinks options all around the hotel area that you can walk to if you dont feel like taking the underground somewhere. Also had air con during the heatwave which was necessary! - staff was so friendly too, definitely recommend this place for a cheaper option in a PRIME location to explore London!!!

Rude, uncomfortable, tiny - AVOID!!

I am not one to complain but I have never been so disappointed with a hotel. The only good thing I can say is that it was in a convenient location. The staff - one woman in particular - were incredibly rude and disinterested. No apologies were offered when they couldn’t find our booking due to their own error and when our rooms were unavailable when they said they would be. We had two double rooms for the same price. One was so small that one side of the bed was pressed against the wall and the bathroom door would still not open fully because of the bed. The other room was much larger - these rooms should not be the same prize. The mattress was like sleeping on concrete. Large spiderwebs in corners of the room. Wall light (main light) broken and hanging upside down. Expected much more for £259 per night, but even very basic cleanliness/politeness of staff/space to move in the room would have been better than this. I will be making a formal complaint to the hotel also.

Really good hotel with good transport links, underground about 5 mins away and within walking distance of several places of interest.
The hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good with lots of choice although it did get very busy as the room is not too big.
My only small complaint is that the provided towels are not very big so if I visited again I might be tempted to take my own.

Arrived a few hours early, but fortunately, another (similar) room was available. Just got lucky. Hotel lounge area decor is very eclectic and inviting. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, and good range of continental style (but better options). Room and bathroom were spacious and very clean. Bathroom mirror had great ring light! And enough shelving space for all my many toiletries. It may not be a big deal having sufficient shelf space, but when staying multiple days, makes morning prep so much easier! And plenty of plugs everywhere in the room! No funky smells anywhere, entire hotel was clean and bright. Would definitely stay there again. Convenient location to Gloucester station (1min walk) plus a wide range of restaurants around the neighbourhood. Very reasonable rate (if booked in advance).

Great stay at Ibis Styles Gloucester Road! Very convenient location for the museum's and there are plenty of shops and places to eat near by. The hotel room was very quiet! Did not hear other guests or any road noise!
The hotel was underground themed which is cool! The room was clean and well styled, and was functional despite being small!
The bathroom was modern and clean, the shower was really good!
Toiletries, tea and coffee and towels were provided and the room had a safe and hairdryer too.

Very close to the metro, so a real advantage. Very nice area, supermarkets and pubs really close to the hotel.
We didnt enjoy the breakfast that much, it was quite poor, nothing cooked, except boiled eggs, ham and 2 types of cheese. They should do better considering the money paid for a night.
The cleaning is not daily and we had to ask for the towels to be changed (only one towel per person was given).
Other than this, staff was friendly and helpful, they changed promptly our room because the AC was not working in the first one they've given us.
Overall it was ok, but quite expensive for what they are offering.

Nice decor and super location. Issue with TV solved quickly and politely. Nice continental breakfast and easy check in / out.

Only two gripes. Shower was hot but pressure was low. Rooms are very small (not uncommon in this part of town). Double wasn't big enough for both of us to get changed for a night out at the same time. Don't take a large suitcase as there isn't room to Store it!

Overall good stay. I had a few issues with cold showers as they’re wasn’t any hot water at times. Breakfast is very large and the whole selection is served on a tray. We found our party wasted a lot of food as it was enough for breakfast and lunch! It would be more suitable if it was an ordering system as we can get exactly what we would like and not a whole selection on your tray.

Fire alarm, no clean towels and poor service

Fire alarm went off at 4am which would of been really bad if was guest doing so but to make it worse was a fault / error by staff here.

No cutlery or spoon with the coffee.

I’ve had to continuously go up and down 3 flights of stairs to get things sorted organised and fixed. Been promised 3pm late check out everyday but still everyday they have ceased my card which again results in going back down from room

Excellent situation. The staff were all courteous and efficient. Made us welcome. The room was small but comfortable. In the morning we reported a continuous light tapping sound, maybe from plumbing. The staff member apologised and said our room would have been changed if we had mentioned it. Would definitely stay here again x

The location was excellent as it is just across the road from the Gloucester Road tube station. The room was spacious and easy to operate heating controls meant we could be warm when we wanted. The buffet breakfast was excellent. Definitely stay here again.

The hotel was nice and clean. Staff where nice.
The room however was in the basement with no windows ( which was not mentioned and the sound of the tubes was loud.
Breakfast was good what was there but the coffee machine was broken and only a flask of hot water and instant coffee.😖
