Our experience of this hotel was excellent. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The place was really clean. Had a large bedroom for three of us. The location was very good in that we could walk to Gloucester Road tube station in 5 minutes. We didn’t avail of the restaurant. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

The hotel is in a very good location off Cromwell Road. The rooms are a decent size and they were clean. The water pressure was good. However, they advertise air-conditioning and what they don’t tell you is that you can only have heat in certain months. I was on the fourth floor and was sweating. They give you one thick comforter but no sheet, so you can’t try to balance out the heat situation yourself to sleep. I ended up having to open and close the windows throughout the day based on the weather.They also have toilets that are wall mounted and placed high and I had to be on tiptoes to use: I’m 5‘6“. It was very uncomfortable. Had I not been sick for s good part of the trip I would’ve tried to switch hotels. I gave feedback on my check-in experience when Hotels.com asked for it and they said they would pass the feedback onto a manager but no one contacted me.

Well appointed room with fine facilities, very clean. Very comfortable beds where we slept good. Very nice staff.
A VERY well. We are very satisfied and can RECOMMED the hotel! Close to Gloucester Rd Tube also and buses.
Only thing: we would like you to axcenhange the shampoo, conditioner and bath foam tubes for large containers to keep down waste.

My room was suprisingly large and even had a walk-in closet. The only downside was that the water in the bath-tap never got hot enough, whereas the shower went up to burning in temperature.

Otherwise great stay and service. Really nice staff in reception and the rooms were very clean and fresh. Bonus points for tea kettle and a fridge.

Shortly after booking the hotel, my personal information, including partial credit card details, was compromised and fell into the hands of cyber criminals, leading to multiple phishing attempts. I was informed that an investigation is in progress but not offered much of an apology.

When we were in the room, the lock on the bathroom door broke while my partner wad in there, meaning she was locked in for some time while the staff tried to open it, having to go and find a screwdriver to take the lock apart, we were told the maintenance team don't work weekend... this could have been a serious health and safety issue if there was an emergency, or for a solo traveller. Again, no apology, no offer to move to another room, and no offers of a discount or other gesture to make it up.

The decor and facilities didn't feel like a 4 star hotel, the room felt tired and in need of refurbishment.

Positives: nice location on a quiet street, comfortable bed and nice powerful shower

The rooms were freezing cold, it rained through the ceiling and the restaurant was the worst experience we’ve ever had. The food was very bad and on top of it they served chicken instead of the ordered vegetarian dish.
Will not be back.

We have stayed at this time, each time for a week. We like the area and will stay here during our next visit. On this visit, we initially were in the part of the hotel that has not yet been renovated. The air handling system was balking. The hotel immediately moved us to a renovated room. That is how the place is run. We feel welcomed and well taken care of.

It was a decent hotel. Clean and staff were friendly.

It was on the expensive side. I thought it was because of the location and because it was 4 star. There was nothing special about it to make it 4 star. And the location wasn't really that great (still had to travel an hour by train to do most attractions).

The nearby area with restaurants is convenient but can get a little sketchy late at night.

A cheaper hotel near Heathrow with breakfast included would've been better value in my opinion.

The room was very warm at night, so we turned the cooling on and left for the day, hoping it would be cool when we returned for the evening. We returned to an oven! We were told at the front desk that the cooling was seasonal and we only had heating available in the room, so the best we could do was open the window, which only opened about 4 inches.....not enough to cool the room over night but enough to let the noise in and keep us awake all night!

As we did not have breakfast we are unable to comment.
The outer building is very attractive wth lots of character. A pleasant entrance although the reception desk which is off to the side & not facing visitors; initially out of view. We were too early to check-in but offered a safe place to keep our luggage, though we did not require this service as we had relatives staying at the hotel.
When we came to check-in later, we experienced a slight unfriendliness, were given passkeys to our room after some mix up with paperwork at the desk.
Upon entering the allocated room, it appeared to be already occupied. This could have been an extremely embarrasing situation had the occupier been in the room; thankfully they were not!
Back to reception we explained the situation to the same young woman on the desk, we were asked some questions in an abrupt, unfriendly manner & after spending a lot of time at the computer she allocated us another room, not before she blamed the error on her co worker. We found all this very unprofessional when a sincere apology & an aim to please, would have gone a long way. This was dissappointing.
However, the overnight stay was pleasant. The rooms were clean but in need of updating, especially the bathrooms. Most hotels have walk-in showers but here they have bathtubs with shower, beware, the bathtubs are very high-sided.
The location is great for Earl's Court Station & a variety of restaurants within walking distance.

This is an old hotel. Main window could not be fully closed, so it let cold air to get into the room. As a result, I got sick with a bad cold.

Hotel staff was very helpful. They offered us to relocate to a lower-rated room in the basement, which we declined.

The air-conditioning and heat worked well. The room was cleaned daily unless you kept the do not disturb on. The room was fully serviced including replenishment of coffee and cookies which was nice. The staff were always helpful and polite.

The location is good. Our room had a very nice and comfortable bed. The shower had excellent water pressure. It was very clean. On the other hand, our room was in the very odd place with stairs, where my husband with his bad knees could barely walk up and down. The receptionist did not ask us if only stairs are ok for us.

Terrible experience. The bed and pillows are awful. I was on the third floor, but the lift broke down while I was there. There was no action by the hotel to inform me or to change me to a room on a lower floor. I had to stay three nights walking up and down the stairs.

I will not recommend this place. The location is good, but there are plenty of hotels around.

I had to walk a longer distance than I would have liked to find restaurants and shopping areas. The room and hotel were both clean, but lacked any charm and felt very sterile. The staff was not very friendly upon check in. There was minimal contact. I personally would not stay here again.

Room 305. Air con not working even though the room was advertised as having air con. The room was right next to the lift which was in use all night. Bed was very uncomfortable, old mattress which dipped in the middle and could feel the springs. We stayed here as we had a family wedding over the weekend. We didn't have the rest we needed for the following day.

Nice and reasonably priced Malayan restaurant downstairs and within walking distance of a few eateries (hotel does not provide food). Hotel was nice but reception staff on our arrival (6.30pm) was a bit miserable. Was also not informed I’d need photo ID to access the place (even though I’d already checked in online). Lucky my wife had hers! Our room was already taken by someone else’s luggage when we entered the room, so we were given another room in the basement. More spacious than the first room we were ‘offered’ but a little tired in appearance/furnishings in comparison. All in all though, a nice clean room and a good nights sleep with no traffic noise!!

The second week they gave us a much better room because we complained. They were nice to keep our luggage during our trip to Edinburgh. The breakfast options are not varied.

There was no lift to our room. Only narrow steep stairs that were behind two doors and a hallway. Very strange and troubling to find.

The wife got bitten all over by bed bugs!

Our bathroom was down a short hallway behind a heavy fire door, not part of our room. Inconvenient.

The hotel is a quite road of Kensigton - close to bus Stop and Tube station -at 3 min are available bar - pub - restaurant and Sainsbury supermarket.
The building is in perfect Edoardian Style - the lobby is very confortable with sofa and armchairs. Room are big and clean - bathroom very confortable and wide.
Even if we have reached the hotel in the late night the staff was kind and friendly - They offer for free two bottle of water and the storage of the luggage the departuring day. Very recommended for couple.

Mattress was so hard. After second night, I felt I was on a counter. There were two small rips on bed fitted sheet on the last night. This should not be happening in any hotels. I also called Reception asking for water to make a coffee and the person who answered sounded like he did not want to bother sending someone to bring water to the room. He just said I had to pay for it and that it was only provided the first night. I had asked reception for water the day before, the person was very polite and gave 3 bottles. I didn't mind paying for a water, it was just his attitude. My husband went to a market around the corner to buy water. The first night there were people outside screaming so loud, like if they were fighting, but I guess this doesn't happen all the time. It was in the middle of the night; I didn't feel like getting up to see what it was. I went back to sleep. Breakfast Buffet needs more variety. Scrabble eggs are put in small trays. Two people can serve the egg and the others need to wait for more egg to be cooked. Overall hotel was good, but not excellent. The area is nice and safe to walk to restaurants. Walking to restaurants is about 10 to 20 minutes. Would I stay in this hotel again? Maybe, or another closer to restaurants.

This hotel, in a lovely section of Kensington, provided super value for the location. The rooms are a bit quirky BUT their assets overcome dated furniture and the tight-for-2 layout: The bed was so comfortable, the bathroom’s tub and shower are updated, the complimentary cookies, water and Twinings tea much appreciated. Can’t emphasize location enough, especially the $250 US we paid per night in this upscale area. To boot: Our stay sadly aligned with the 4-day underground strike, but there was so much to walk to—Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, Victoria and Albert museum, Natural History museum, oodles of shops and restaurants—we had a lovely stay and burned calories. Our experience with the staff was great, too.

Very affordable for the area. We could walk 3 minutes to the train/tram station, supermarket and 15 min walk to museums, Harridas, etc. Very safe area since I was traveling alone with my young son. Staff is very friendly and even lent us electric adapters for the outlets.

We had a nice stay. It was clean and A/C was cold. Room was smaller than it looked online. I found the shower situation strange. The water was all over the whole bathroom and very slippery. Apparently, that's just a European thing. Kind of dangerous so I laid down towels so no one slipped. They cleaned daily and we got new towels so all good. Staff was very friendly and neighborhood seemed safe. Tube was just a couple blocks away. Good pubs within walking distance.
