Room was small but okay. Soundproofing not great - there was noise from the corridor that woke me up late at night and early in the morning. The latch on the bathroom window was broken which meant it could be opened from the outside, and the room was on the ground floor, which was not great.

On arrival at the property my card was pre-authorised with 5% of the room rate, which was presented as just in case I used any items from the fridge; on departure this was instead described as an optional service charge. Costs should be inclusive of this; pay your staff properly and be up front about the cost!

I stayed at this hotel recently and unfortunately the experience was pretty mixed.

This hotel has a great location and friendly staff, which were definite positives. The themed rooms are fun and our balcony was great, though the decor felt a bit dated. The lounge area was also nice.

Unfortunately, there were several drawbacks. There was major sidewalk and building construction outside, making it difficult to reach the front entrance. The rooms are quite small with almost no storage—no dresser or place to put clothes. The bathroom fan didn’t work, the walls were very thin (we could hear our neighbors’ phone notifications/tv/toilet flushes), and amenities were minimal aside from basic toiletries attached to the shower wall. The elevator setup is also inconvenient—guests on upper floors have to switch elevators, which could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues.

The biggest issue for me was that we had to leave two days early. Although we booked through Expedia and prepaid, the hotel ultimately decides on refunds. I wasn’t expecting a full refund, but a partial refund for the unused nights would have been appreciated. They declined.

Overall, I found the hotel pretty bare-bones and disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend it for families with kids, elderly travelers, or anyone with mobility issues.

The staff are lovely, the location is great and it’s good value. It’s a lovely place to stay, our only negative is that the pillows and bed were not very comfortable. The bed felt like two beds pushed together so there was a hard ridge in the middle.

The staff were very welcoming and courteous. The hotel itself was very clean and being so close to a tube station and the Natural History museum is a big bonus.

Our room was very clean, although the only comment to have about the experience was I wis there was more milk and sugar in the rooms as you quickly run out with a single drink and there weren’t any sugars or sweeteners in ours.

Otherwise great for our short stay and would come again.

Only let down was lack of choice and care for the food served at breakfast, could do with more hot options e.g. mushrooms, tomatoes and porridge and a wider selection of bread, crumpets, pancakes etc.

we booked this hotel because we wanted to be closed to Royal Albert Hall to attend a concert. We paid a above average rate for this booking. Hotel itself was fine. Breakfast arrangement was hopeless. I am mindful about space but still this arrangement should have been lot better than what I have seen in 2 star budget hotel. Sorry utterly dissappointed.

Lovely comfortable Town House stay for two nights. Room was well equipped and immaculately clean. Only issue is that they automatically charge a service charge on room rate which is the first time I have encountered this in London. It is discretionary but I stay most weeks, on business and feel the high costs of room rates should not have another charge on top. So beware

What’s called a boutique hotel. The room was well appointed but a king sized bed made a small room even smaller. Breakfast was disappointing- we had to beg for extra bacon and the choice was extremely limited. It is convenient for the Albert Hall and the museums but I don’t think we’ll stay there again

London fun!

We showed up well before check-in time just to drop off our luggage, but they were able to put us in our room at that time, which was awesome. Only real complaint was that the bathroom smelled like it had been freshly used, but it was fine after letting it air out for a bit, there was an open bottle of drinking water in the bathroom, and we had no actual drinking water in the room. But the hotel smelled good, was in very good condition amd had a prime, posh location.

We had a fantastic stay at 54 Queen’s Gate. The hotel is even more beautiful in person than in the photos. The staff were so warm and welcoming — we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. Our room was elegant and spotless, with a crib already set up for our young son, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was great for our whole family, and the location is perfect — close to the gardens, museums, and great dining options. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location for the Royal Albert Hall and museums. Modern decor throughout and the room was generally well maintained, if a little cramped (was a small double, cannot comment on the size of the other rooms).
Breakfast was ok, a reasonable selection, and enough to keep us going for the rest of the morning.
we did notice the floor in both the bedroom and bathroom needed a better vacuum, and we mentioned this on checkout, so hopefully they can improve on this small matter, but overall a good stay.

This hotel is nice and quaint with modern amenities, but a throwback to traditional hotels.
Each room is named and themed after a famous British states person or artist.
The location across the road from the Natural History Museum is brilliant!
You also have the charm of Kensington and Knightsbridge within easy walking distance.

Hotel is a lovely building. The location is excellent. We were going to a show at the Royal Albert Hall and jt was just a 10 minute walk away. If you want to visit many of the museums, they are in your doorstep too.
The area was really quiet.
I would have given it 5 stars but i felt that streaky bacon as part of your breakfast, wasnt really acceptable. Also, we had to wait outside to gain access on arrival. In fact, a fellow guest had to ri g them to get them to open the door. That said, it was also good for security, knowing that people coujust walk in. We would absolutely stay here again. It would be like a 'home from home'.

I did not like the fact that there were 2 elevators. I stayed in 2 different rooms and had to go up and down stairs regardless of the elevators. For that reason, i would probably not stay at this hotel again.

This is the third time I have stayed at this hotel. I have left positive reviews in the past but this time I can't do so. I was so disappointed by the upkeep of the hotel. They are letting it get run down. The walls had marks on them, the furniture was chipped and damaged, the lights had pieces missing from them and there was a light hanging out of it's socket. The drain in the shower was blocked and the water overflowed. The answer was to have us bathe in a different room. What? The blanket on the bed was dirty... I have photos. It was freezing cold and the heating didn't work. They gave us a space heater that didn't work, so they gave use an industrial style heater that was loud and smelly. I have a photo of this too. Also... they still don't have an ice machine after all these years.

Lovely room, great bathroom and shower with very nice toiletries. Tasty breakfast. The only suggestion I would make is better lighting somewhere within the room to enable people to put on make up/mascara. I had problems as the lighting was so dim and my eyes are old! I would stay at 54 Queens Gate anytime, loved our stay.

Walkable to the Palace and all areas around it. A short subway ride to Paddington for Heathrow or Tower Hill for East End. Lovely, quiet spot. A great respite after a long day of sightseeing. Close to lots of cosy pubs for dinner.

Hotel looks stylish and is very clean. We booked our room last minute, at a discount. Our room, was very small (basement room 3) and situated below the breakfast room. There were loud noises (chairs scraping) coming from above from 6am onwards, which is not good on a weekend morning. When mentioned to reception it was suggested we book a different (higher priced) room next time.
