The hotel is in a great location 2 mins walk from the underground.
We arrived just before the check in time of 3pm to be told all the doubles had already been checked in but we could have the family room
Our room was on the too floor. A total of 6 flights of stairs , 81,steps and no lift. Not ideal for a couple in their mid 60s The very helpful gentleman at reception did offer to take our bags up. Both staff we met were cheerful and welcoming. .
The bathroom had beèn fully upgraded but the rest of the room was very dated.
The floor below us was effectively a building site with all the rooms being decorated and upgraded and currently out of use
The room was hot but had a plug in fan we could use.
There is no breakfast room but lots if options close by.

I appreciate Harry and the other associate (sorry, I forgot his name) for checking in with us and making sure our room was tidied and cleaned up daily. My family and I thought the room was adequate and nice–good value. It was very close to eateries/cafes/pubs, museums, historical landmarks, parks, shops, Tesco Express (like a small 7-Eleven), and South Kensington Station. Also, this was one of the few places that could accommodate a family of four within the same room, within our budget.

We stayed in room 408, not far from the bottom floor, overlooking the street. The four of us managed to lift our baggage up a few flights of stairs that wasn't so bad. Going down the stairs can be a bit tricky for those with big feet or shoes with an extended sole, so please be careful and watch every step.

The room was a little crammed because there were three beds but had enough space to put our carry-ons and personal bags. There's a small round table, two chairs, a desk, a small closet, coffee/tea and cups, night stands, TV, mini fridge (no ice box), and a microwave. The bed was on the medium firm side, but comfortable enough to sleep on. Everything was clean and smelled clean.

The bathroom was renovated and looked really nice. Note: It can take for the shower water to warm up, so once you're done showering, the next person should go in right away. The toilet was upgraded with the flush buttons on top of the tank--you may need to quickly tap or push lightly.

Would stay there again!

My room was clean and modern with a very nice en-suite bathroom. The main room would benefit from a full-length mirror and perhaps some pictures on the bare walls.
The shared spaces within the hotel (halls, stairs and landings) looked very worn and there were quite a few stains on the carpets, but it looked as if there were some improvements in progress. It is a very nice old building which could be extremely nice with more renovation. There is not a lift which may be a problem for some guests.

So all was ok, room basic, cracked walls, filthy mould around windows and minging carpet but expected that for price, bathroom was surprisingly pretty good. In the morning we found bed bugs, on a pillow and climbing up the wall, so we left pretty sharp after that and dumped our pyjamas in the room bin. I told receptionist and showed him pictures, only said sorry, no further chat, no offer of reimbursement or anything to rectify the loss of clothing or the distress!

The hotel is very low budget. The entrance to reception is grubby the carpet and bannister rail needs a good clean. Our room was ok the bedding was clean but the beds were high because they were on (what I can only call) an Iron base with 6 legs, having said that the mattresses were of good quality. Apparently our room had just been refurbished so the bathroom was all new and shiny and it looked lovely. But, no soap, we had to keep popping into the shower where there was a fixed bottle of shower gel on the wall (no, they don't provide soap for the sink, we did ask). We also had to ask for tea & coffee making facilities as there wasn't any in our room due to the refurbishment (they were waiting for smaller kettles) they did however find an old larger kettle and provided us with tea tray, they did go out of their way to get a tea tray together, so all credit to them 👍. There was no hooks or wardrobe so nowhere to hang your clothes also no chair in the room which made it awkward putting your socks on (we're of a certain age 😉). The staff were very polite and helpful, can't complain about their customer service, one in particular was dressed very smartly with his shirt, tie and waistcoat 👍. We were only book in for one night so it was bearable. It seems like they are starting to refurbish the rooms which is good. Don't book this hotel if you want a bit of luxury. All in all it was ok staff polite and helpful the plus is that it's surrounded by all the amenities you need.

The staff here were excellent, very helpful and accommodating from start to finish. The rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed, also seemed well soundproof as we had a very quiet night despite room overlooking the road. Lovely to have patio doors in our rooms. We had booked two rooms and they were happy to try to offer us rooms beside each other, which in this case they were able to. Very happy customers who will definitely return if looking for accommodation in the area. It's a great location very close to museums, tube station, cafes and food shops!

Harry on reception was so helpful. The location is ideal for easy tube access to all London. 10 minute walk to V&A, Natural History Museum, and Science Museum. 20 minutes to Royal Albert Hall, Kensington gardens and Hyde Park. Lots of good eateries within a minute or two.

Person in AM the supervisor was rude and gave us many smart remarks of what not to do when nothing was instructed at check in. Hotel is very small no elevator, many stairs, rooms are confusing to get around in, carpets were extremely dirty, nowhere to leave luggage if you have to check out late, wall plugs nit all working were very few and some non working made for frustration. Rooms were ok basic needs met beds bathroom and hair dryer. Rooms small and small bathrooms like most hotels here. I would put up with those but not the rude smart comments from “Supervisor”

This hotel is excllnt valu - situated right in the Museum district and 2 mins from South Kensington Station. Ther is no lift so not for those who struggle with stairs. Dadly there was one fixable problem that would stop me re using it. The room absolutely stank of mildew/mould. I hope the propeerty sees this and is able to fix it as iw ould be happy to use again on my many trips to London.

I couldn’t fault my stay at the Brompton Hotel. It is extremely well situated, conveniently close to South Kensington tube station. Checking in was easy with Harry, who was welcoming, helpful and keen to know if I needed anything. I was given a quiet double room which was very clean and with a comfortable bed. The en suite shower room was gleaming and brand new. A thoroughly successful stay, good value for the money and I would certainly go back again if the opportunity arises.

The hotel was in a good area and the tube station was literally a couple of minutes walk away. The hotel was fine for what we needed it to be as we were up in London to attend a local hospital appointment and this was the closest hotel at a cheaper price. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. We did say to them when we had finished our visit that the fridge would need to be check as the items we had left in there were warmer than when we had put them into the fridge and had put it up to its maximum level ! The gentleman behind the counter said that this would be looked into. We asked for a lower level room which was what we got over looking the road, but when the double glazed doors were closed, we hear very little traffic noise. The one downside was that despite turning the radiators off when we arrived as we noticed that they were on, the heat still carried on coming out, so we presumed they had an over-ride facility and that they were set to ocome on at certain times of the day. That being said we were in a more expensive area of London. There were breakfast facilities, although kind of onsite this was run independently of the hotel. We didn't eat here in the end, but a few doors up on the same side, was an excellent breakfast in La Brioche. This comes highly recommended. We did have a recently re-fitted bathroom which had been replaced to a good standard.

The property is in a great location, but it could very much do with a refurb. From old and faded furnishings to a very leaky bathroom, and incredibly loud ventilation, it was much less comfortable given the current condition. At least it was clean enough so for 1 night it was passable given the practicality of the location.

Very friendly staff, lovely room, nice and clean, had everything we needed, fridge in room was useful, housekeeping were efficient and friendly. TV in room already with hotel's Netflix account or you can plug a tv stick in. Had a lovely room on the first floor with balcony doors and a nice union flag there to look out at! Made us feel regal!! Tesco Extra a few doors away for any supplies, South Kensington tube 2 mins walk away, lots of restaurants nearby. Science Museum and Natural History Museum 7 mins walk. This will now be our go-to hotel when we stay in London.

It is what it is. An old fashioned hotel in a great location at very reasonable prices and wonderfully attentive service from Harry. Don't expect fancy frills at these prices just be grateful, if you're on a budget, such places still exist in overpriced London. Our room was clean, the bed very comfortable, even a bath with lovely hot water. Highly recommended

Found the Brompton Hotel ideal for a one night stay while visiting the Royal Albert Hall (RAH).

The hotel is good value and in a very convenient location near South Kensington underground station, local amenities the museums and the RAH.

Although the public interior areas of the hotel are in need of some TLC, my room was comfortable, very clean with everything needed for a base during a short stay. Check in was good and staff were friendly.

I would definitely book again and I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reasonable quality, good value hotel in the South Kensington area.
