This had to have been one of the most beautiful places that I've stayed period the area of round is very calm and within walking distance to so many things such as Kensington Park, Prince Albert Memorial, Harrod's, museums and much more.

Fantastic stay at the Gore, truly premium property with excellent service, beautiful amenities in a safe and walkable location.

Rooms are very well appointed and beds are comfortable, complimentary coffee and tea as well as fresh milk for your use.

Very clean, excellent service from all staff.

I had coffee in the library and dined in the bar, delicious and excellent service. I was also shown the area where the Rolling Stones had their famous pie fight, very cool to see and I appreciated the time taken to show me the space.

Fantastic location, 10 minute walk to the tube and grocery store, across from Royal Albert Hall, a 10 minute walk to V&A, very close to Hyde Park (one street over) for a run or to stroll to Kensington Palace.

Appreciate the attention to detail and attentiveness of the staff, truly a premium experience.

Room and staff were excellent……only downside was the unexpected service charge for each room when we checked out which I found I did not have to pay afterwards as we had paid all taxes through Expedia. I found this misleading and disappointing after an otherwise lovely stay.

Many things stood out.
The check in staff were really friendly. I loved that they showed us to our room and told us where everything was. We have never had that in any hotel. The room itself was spotlessly clean. The food in the restaurant was fabulous. The service was also excellent.

Location! Location! Location! For an overnight stay after an event at the Royal Albert Hall, you can’t beat The Gore for a great location … we can even see the RAH from our bedroom window. The hotel is getting tired - the beds are too soft, the bathroom is old with no mixer taps and a noisy toilet, but for one night it’s okay and far cheaper than anything nearby (because their price premium for overlooking Hyde Park is crazy)!! Overall, great location and affordable price for a small clean room (without breakfast).

Very gloomy and outdated.
It urgently needs an upgrade to the bathroom facilities. Mixing hot and cold water is almost impossible; you cannot even brush your teeth comfortably because the water is either extremely hot or extremely cold. There is no proper way to mix the two, except by using a cup, as if you had gone back to the 16th century.

The room lighting is very poorly designed, and the bathroom mirror is also inadequate.

We paid £278 for a “cozy” room. They don’t tell you they also add a 5% service charge when you check out. Our room was poor to be honest. Small double bed, aircon not great and the plumbing was very old and noisy. I don’t think it represented good value for money. I can only assume the high price was to cover the heating costs particularly in the stairwells. Breakfast was excellent and the lounge was very comfortable.

Very Cosy comfortable small Hotel ideally situated for the Royal Albert Hall (2 blocks away) Dinning room personal and tastefully decorated we enjoyed a delicious Breakfast and Lunch . Also a nice bar and lounge to relax in.
Stayed on the 5th floor which was accessed by small elevator to the 4th floor then up a flight of stairs.. the room was small also double bed but comfortable.

I was astonished to be charged a service charge for each nights accommodation and breakfast. £86! Naturally I refused to pay.
This was a first for me and I do hope it's not going to be the norm.

I was very disappointed with the service in the bar. We came in and first thing they said was no room for us, we were put in dining room. Came back later that evening and again sent to back of the bar in the dark, waited ages for a drink while barman stood around, then we had to ask if we could sit at bar in two empty seats!!! Begrudged paying service charge tbh :-(

I was so impressed with the Receptionust who completed the check-in process. (3pmish 19th Oct). She was very welcoming and professional. Advised of discounts regarding booking breakfast and had given us an upgrade to our room. When she realised it was a trip to celebrate our anniversary, she arranged for a complimentary bottle of Prosecco to be sent to the room. She was also responsible for arranging a last minute taxi as the weather was so awful - a feat in itself, as taxis were in high demand that night. Just a lovely young lady and such an asset to your front of house staff. I am only sorry I could thank her myself when checking out as she was off-duty.
I would also like to mention the housekeeping lady who we met as she was just such a breath of fresh air and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was prepared and kept beautifully.
Thank you, we will definitely be back and will be recommending The Gore to family and friends. Joy Kerr

Our room was on the top floor / attic. Small with a cramped bathroom. Whilst the taps and shower may well be in character with the hotel, they are old and difficult to control.
I would return to the hotel, but I would chose my room more wisely.

Upon arrival I was met with an overwhelming ‘air-freshener’ type smell. This was all around reception area & library area. Not pleasant.
I arrived 25 mins before the 3pm check in. Paperwork was completed efficiently & was asked to wait in the library & was told I’d be collected for check in at 3pm. I waited until nearly 3.30pm at which point I approached reception where 4 members of staff were chatting. I asked if my room was ready - I was give my key & a man apologised for the wait. Not the best start.

The room was clean, bright & a good size. However like other areas of the hotel it needed attention. The sink didn’t drain properly. The bath had to be filled using the shower head as the tap switch between bath & shower was broken. Big gap behind the headboard means pillows drop through.

I really disliked the attempt to grab more money with the 12.5% extra service charge for the cleaning staff. Yes, the hotel was clean & I’m sure that team work hard. But it’s not right to try & sneak such charges on to the bill at the end. I wonder how many tourists get caught by this?

Overall the hotel lacks attention to detail & whilst it was super convenient for my Royal Albert Hall concert, I wouldn’t choose to stay again.

If you are looking for something with traditional charm, this boutique is it! I didn't want a cookies cutter hotel that is the same world wide.
The Gore is a beautiful, boutique hotel with astounding customer service. They really care about making your stay personalized and wonderful.
The room was a smaller one, but with London standards, it was very spacious and comfortable. The bed and bedding were so comfortable as well.
(My only small complaint, to no fault of the hotel is the Queens Gate side can be rather noisy during the night due to passers-by. So if you are really counting on a quiets night sleep, I would ask to be away from that side. )
Would definitely recommend and stay again.

They couldn’t have been lovelier. From signing in to finding a beautiful bottle of Prosecco in our room and a note from The Hotel because it was my birthday so the comfort of our beautiful room, the fluffiness of our bed and the loveliness of the staff. We had dinner at the restaurant twice and one breakfast and we took someone to high tea at 4 PM in the library. It was exquisite. For the price, it was absolutely perfect. Location was wonderful and we were just around the corner from the Prince Albert Museum and very close to the Museum of Natural History. Love love, love!

Staying at the Gore is like stepping back in time. The hotel is beautiful with a warm inviting bar, charming breakfast room and a comfortable library. The staff go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome. We especially appreciated Emma’s greetings at breakfast and Giorgio and Christian’s help at the concierge desk. The breakfast at the Gore is top notch and we enjoyed the freshly squeezed orange juice as well as many other breakfast options. The hotel has an interesting history with a connection to Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones. Great location in a quiet neighborhood near Kensington Park and Royal Albert Hall!

Nice enough hotel with friendly, helpful staff and classy period decor. Room was a bit small and old-fashioned however and had a few small maintenance issues. Main window was difficult to close as bolts were broken which was a problem as the room was immediately above a very noisy bar. Noise continued until 1.00am when we were finally able to sleep. Hotel was close to Kensington Gardens and the Albert Hall.

Tired and tatty at the edges

A tired and tatty hotel, very poor repairs and certainly not worth what they are charging. No one at the door to help with my case up the outside steps despite me having a walking stick. I don't need help, but they seemed to be busy with everyone else...

No-one helped me upstairs to my room with my case. No way of turning off the Aircon in the room and I was too tired to call reception.

Poor quality repairs in the bathroom, H missing from the tap on the sink, paint all over the edge of the bath. Room 106, and I did show reception as I left.

They tried to charge me another £10 on my invoice and when I challenged what it was for, I was told it was a tip for all the staff! This was on top of the service charge I had already paid in the bar for someone to bring me two plates of food! Clearly I declined to pay this given the lack of support as I arrived and no other staff doing anything additional to the jobs they are paid to do.

I stay here because it's convenient for the Royal Albert Hall, but it's overpriced for what it is. On the upside, I did get a room upgrade with a lovely balcony, a complimentary bottle of water and milk, the bed was very comfortable and the toiletries are from Penhaligon's, which is always a treat. A plate of sweets and a handwritten note from the hotel manager welcoming me back are a nice touch.

Great Breakfast (included), wide choice and all served, no buffet…which is a lovely change but as soon as it got busy it slowed to not receiving a coffee for 20 min wait- then you’re charged service for your free breakfast - a small glitch in an otherwise lovely stay.

Loved our visit to The Gore! We arrived late to the hotel due to delays with our flight and had to quickly change and head out for a meeting upon our arrival. The front desk was welcoming, accommodating, and efficient during the check-in process.

The staff and hospitality was truly 5-star and the morning breakfast is an absolute must!

I was originally torn on booking the Gore due to the mixed reviews but honestly, the stay was EXCEPTIONAL. The hotel is quiet, but has a lot of charm and character. There are some reviewer that mentioned that the property is dated --please remember that this is to be expected as its a historic hotel and this is the charm of staying in a unique, Victorian property such as this. All the antique furnishings were clean and I loved the traditional bathroom sinks etc. I felt like I was taken back to the 1850's Great Exhibition :) I can only imagine how beautiful the hotel is decorated during the holidays!

My bf had meetings at Imperial college so it was the perfect location and walking distance to Hyde Park and Chelsea neighborhood, and close to public transport. The weather was nice so we were able to cut through the park and walk directly to Mayfair.

We will definite be back and stay here again, hopefully very soon!

Excellent Comfortable Stay in a Beautiful Hotel

Lovely hotel V close to the Royal Albert Hall.
Booked a deluxe room but were given a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite which was lovely. Well appointed, wonderfully old fashioned with panelling and a panelled bathroom too. Extremely clean, coffee machine, complimentary water, decent
& plentiful coathangers, big fluffy towels, dressing gowns and slippers. Staff are very nice and welcoming too.
Lift to the 3rd floor. Given the age of the building, you can't really hear road noise, or rooms next or above you.

Overall a lovely stay and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again which I can't say very often when visiting London. It's usually just poor service in \"well photographed\" hotels at a crazy price tag.

Great location for the Albert Hall which is why we chose it. Helpful and friendly staff. Hotel was pricey, even by London standards and despite paying extra for the room upgrade it was still pretty small and the bed was a small double, which we could hardly walk around. The tap leaked in the bathroom and every time the toilet flushed water sprayed everywhere. There was no separate shower and instead it was over a bath and there was no screen but instead a tatty shower curtain so we did not use. Parking was a 5 minute walk and cost an additional £45. Breakfast was good and service the same, although a slight mishap when my partners breakfast was spilled over me, although it was quickly cleared away and staff were most apologetic.

All just a bit naff. The room was lovely, on first inspection, but the bathroom was very old, the bed was really uncomfortable and the pillows were nest to useless.
