Stayed at Olympic House Hotel and had a mixed but generally positive experience.
The staff were friendly and helpful throughout most of our stay. They even lent us an iron and ironing board when we needed them, which we appreciated. The location is very convenient, with easy access to train stations and bus routes, and there are plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance.
The rooms and bathrooms are quite small, but they are functional and served their purpose for a short stay. The breakfast is also fairly basic—nothing special, but adequate to start the day.
Unfortunately, one interaction left a negative impression. The hotel staff had kindly lent us a kettle, but about 30 minutes later, the manager, Rizwan, was rude when addressing the situation and seemed upset that we had it, despite it having been provided by his own staff. The inconsistency and manner in which it was handled were disappointing.
Overall, the hotel offers a convenient location, functional accommodations, and mostly helpful staff, but better communication and customer service from management would improve the guest experience.

Worst bed I’ve ever tried to sleep in. Terrible uncomfortable night. That mattress was old sagging and full of lumps. Needs a new mattress before anyone else has their night ruined

It was a pleasant stay in the single bedroom, as a solo traveller for a long weekend. Upon early arrival, the staff offered to keep my bag secure until check-in.
All staff were lovely and helpful with any questions. The continental breakfast was a nice touch

Friendly welcome, allowed to check in early to leave cases before room was ready. Our room was very nice, very comfy beds, extremely clean including the bathroom and shower which was great! Breakfast was good, sufficient for our needs. Only gripe we had was, staying during the hottest days of the year so far, the aircon hadn't been serviced so the room was very warm! And we checked out the day it was serviced and usable. But, we still enjoyed our stay and will definitely book to stay again. It's in an ideal location near Paddington station and Hyde Park, plenty of lovely restaurants and cafes near the hotel. We would recommend Angus Steak House opposite Paddington Station entrance. Absolutely delicious steak and great service!

This area is super convenient to Paddington Station, shops, restaurants, hop on hop off bus etc. The room was on the small & basic side, but it was very clean. Breakfast was included, there was no hot food, but a decent variety of cold food. The staff were...assertive in seating & clearing people out, seating single people together etc...but the breakfast room is small for the size of the hotel, only about 8 tables for ~25 rooms.

staff wasn’t very welcoming and were unprofessional in my opinion. found a few belongings from the previous guest in my room that were clearly missed by cleaning staff. the breakfast was pathetic and the staff wanted me to sit with random people at their table instead of one of the clean and open tables. if the price point was cheaper i wouldn’t be complaining. the vibe of the hotel room made me check for bed bugs. thankfully there weren’t any.

Location was great - The hotel was close to Paddington Station. The Hop on Hop off bus stop for the Big Bus and Toots was really close. There were several restaurants close by as well.
Staff - staff was very helpful.
Room - small (we knew that going in). Beds were comfortable, water pressure good, Has elevator. Would stay there again.

The breakfast wasn’t great, toast was brought cold, only coffee available at breakfast, the breakfast room was very small we had to share a table with another guest
The room was very spacious, but we paid for a window room and was put into the basement/cellar with one window looking into a wall and another very small one that also looked into a wall, there was no kettle available in the room we had to go to reception to use the kettle up there, and there was no fridge in room to use to keep drinks cool,
The housekeeping was amazing no faults there
On a night due to being in the basement we could hear the receptionist rolling around on the chair all night

Overall, I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and found it to be good value for money. The location was convenient, and the facilities met my expectations.

However, I did encounter an issue during late check-in. The staff member at reception was not particularly friendly or professional in his manner and did not offer a basic greeting. I also noticed that he was present on each night of my three-night stay, and the level of service remained consistently below expectations. I would appreciate it if management could provide additional training to ensure a more welcoming and professional guest experience.

Aside from this, my stay was comfortable and enjoyable, and I would consider staying here again.

There are a few good things about this hotel but I absolutely won't be returning. It is just a five minute walk from Paddington station which is good. The desk staff are friendly and helpful. It is well maintained and spotless throughout. But no tea making facilities in the room. They will make you hot drinks at front desk. And the breckfast is absolutely dire ! Cheap tinned mixed fruit and no cooked at all. Pure orange could not have been watered down more without it being water ! And no alternatives for those intolerant of dairy or gluten (which I'm both). A sad start to each day. Also the dining room is too small and every day I had to sit with others which I'm not keen on. Today I came down at 8.30 and there were no tables free so came back at 8.52 and was scolded quite rudely by one of the ladies for being so \"late\" and then hurried off the table by them wiping it and removing everything I finished with - felt very hurried. Have never been treated like this before. I felt like a nuisance tbh. Not for me at all but if you are happy with very limited breakfast and no drinks in the room it might be for you.

Spotlessly clean room in a great location at a super price! The front desk staff are courteous, friendly, and helpful! I’d forgotten my charger, the gentleman at the front desk kindly looked up a spot to get one and directed me there so clearly.
On top of that, it’s right by Hyde Park (where you can ride horses at Hyde Park Stables- a bonus for horse people like me!) and Paddington station, so there’s plenty to do on your doorstep and easy connection to the rest of the city. This is my new go-to home base in London!

I recently stayed at the Olympic House for 8 nights in mid-December. The location is excellent. A few minutes walk to Paddington Station. A few minutes walk to Hyde Park. Every space in the hotel is immaculate. It’s family owned and I had the pleasure of meeting the owner and saying hi to her most mornings. Breakfast was efficient and adequate. I won’t hesitate to stay there again.

The hotel is in a great location about seven minutes' walk from Paddington Station, where you can catch several Underground lines, the Elizabeth line, the Heathrow Express, and national trains. Because of the Elizabeth line and Heathrow Express, it's super easy to get to the hotel from the airport and vice versa. The area around the hotel and train station has plenty of restaurants, souvenir shops, coffee shops, and convenience stores. The hotel has a helpful staff and an elevator and is clean. Breakfast includes toast (with butter, jam, Nutella), cheese, ham, cold cereal and milk, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, pain chocolate, canned fruit cocktail, coffee, and juice. The cheese (cheddar?) is amazing. A staff member OK'd my request to stay in my room about 45 minutes past checkout time. The one caveat is that the shower was so small that every time I moved, I hit the thing that controls the temperature of the water, so I had to keep adjusting it.

A great value! Clean, comfortable, a bit noisy but overall excellent. We stayed in a family room located below ground level. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable for our two night stay. The staff were friendly and accommodating. A decent breakfast was served in the breakfast room, down the hall on the same level. The only thing is that the street noise from a group standing outside at 1am on one night and a car another night woke us up. But some noice is to be expected in London. Overall, a great stay and a great value. I'd stay again.

I wasn’t expecting 4 star. But very poor service . I asked for an iron and the lady was like ,”what now” and begrudgingly got me it . However I would not have complained other than what happen next . I was out with friends who were staying near by . I popped back to my room to collect something and went to continue the night with my friends . I said goodbye to the night staff and said I’ll be back later . I returned about 2am. The night porter was not at his station . I rang the door bell and rang the phone several times . After being stood outside for two hours , I was let in at 4am. No apologies at all . Also my room was next to the breakfast room so was very nosey and cold !!

Hotel is bare bones. Just nice to have some breakfast in the morning. Same same everyday.
Strong points:
-reasonable price,
-friendly/hardworking staff and
-location almost a block next to Paddington station.
Room was basic, clean and comfortable. Assigned a room further to the sides between floors so have to take stairs. Good thing about this is, I was further away from the elevator and don't hear it. Sound insulation is wanting as can hear neighbors talking.
Overall a good stay.

Next time I’m in town, I am not looking for another hotel. This was my sixth time in London and I can’t believe I didn’t know about this beautiful, serene street with a premium location; five minute walk from Paddington station, easy transport to Heathrow (no more airport hotels for me!)
The hotel may be old, but it is clean. Elevator, bathroom, TV, hair dryer, and all are modern.
It will not change my decision to go back to this place, but here are some heads ups from my experience so you are prepared:
1. There is not much room to move around; if you’re traveling with big suitcases, you will need to optimize space.
2. Bring your own soap bar; the one that comes with the room does not clean the hands at all.
3. This is probably typical for UK but the AC was turned off in September (very American point of view, but I needed it. Still, you can crack the window open 2 inches and it’ll cool the room)

Staff was amazing, overall a great stay!

This was a nice place to stay solo. The only complaint that I would have would be that the room does not need a door for the shower or the toilet rooms since the room was just for one person. The extra doors just make it inconvenient and make the already tight quarters feel even smaller.

Cons: Small basement room with inadequate ventilation. Room was stuffy, and without air-conditioning. Only small bottles of bodywash were provided. No bottles drinking water. No safe. Even usage of iron is restricted. Pros: Availability of lift. Near to Paddington and Lancaster Gate station. Plentiful buses. Free simple breakfast. Clean. Quiet. Proximity to restaurants and pubs. Only good thing about the hotel is it's location just next to Paddington Station. Reason I booked this hotel was they have couple of reserved street parking which I could book (GBP 15 per night). I had a 10 day family trip Paris-London-Amsterdam-Brussels, had stayed in this hotel 3 nights, got a family room with 3 twin beds and a double bed through Expedia. We had 2 adults 2 big kids and a 5 years old and they charged another GBP 45 for 3 night without providing any extra amenities for the 5 years old kid. No other hotel did that in that trip or ever in my 25 years of travelling anywhere in the world. Free Breakfast till 9 AM is joke, just cereal and bread, but the ladies in the kitchen are awesome (does not speak English much though). You can use their Iron 10-6 only in their basement. Shower is so tiny that a fat guy wouldn't fit! They have AC but another GBP 10 per night to switch it on, they don't mention such things in Expedia. The day receptionist, a young brown boy is very pleasant but the night receptionist is terrible young guy with lot of attitude, not sure why but I would have fired such guy on first day from my business. And the manager, an old British lady, seems living in 18th century ruling the world! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone neither I would go back there.
