The hotel is a great location within walking distance of St Helier town centre, Liberation Square & the seafront. The rooms are good size, clean but tired looking, the hotel could do with a fresh coat of paint. The swimming pool is lovely, clean & a good size though the showers aren’t great, so best going back to your room to shower. Breakfast has a good selection & service was good. Good value for money.

Rooms are clean.... and warm. The heated pool is lovely. Mainly older guests stay. Perfect location for walking into st helier (10- 15 mins). Staff couldnt do enough for you. Food was good, a different selection every night. A nice bar with at least the basics of each type of drink.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Norfolk lodge earlier this week, with my two children (9 and 12). The hotel is a short walk to the beach or St Helier city centre, so very convenient. On the flip side that does mean it is near a road and can be a bit noisy (we had a room facing the car park / road).

The hotel staff are very helpful and friendly and the hotel has a lovely restaurant, bar and the kids loved the swimming pool.

The breakfast was particularly great and the kids stuffed themselves every day! There was no kids menu on the bar menu which was a shame.

It did feel like the family room we were staying in needed a modernisation. Whilst perfectly functional and clean, it was very dated and had no fridge which was a shame, given we were staying 4 nights.

Would I recommend staying at the hotel, yes I would. I would however call and ask for some info on the room you are staying in - I have a feeling the family rooms might be more dated than other areas, but no evidence to confirm that.

Ultimately though, the kids loved the holiday and the accommodation served its purpose. The staff are the highlight and should be commended.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel. We shared one family room (2 adults, 2 children, 1 infant), which was quite cosy but worked well for us. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool a lot.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was good but could have better options for vegetarians.
The area is not the prettiest, but the city centre and playgrounds can be reached easily by foot (10-15 minutes).

Great hotel, lovely staff

Lovely hotel, the staff were fantastic and the whole place is spotless. The pool was a great facility and the evening entertainment an added bonus. There was plenty of food choices at breakfast although it wasn’t spectacular. We had dinner once in the hotel, which was slightly disappointing so maybe would avoid that but overall it was a fab place to stay.

Staff were friendly. This hotel is in a serious need of updating. There was flaking paint on the bathroom ceiling. The bath had a rust mark running down it. The wood chip wall paper in the bedroom had been resealed & the glue was showing through in 5 areas. Despite housekeeping cleaning daily our room smelt musty. The toasters used for breakfast were inadequate. Force was needed to make it work then the bread came out not cooked. I really don’t know how it has 3 stars.

Lovely hotel although the bedroom floors creaked a lot. Staff were all wonderful and there was entertainment on through the week, but oddly not at weekends. About a 15 min walk into St Helier, but there is a local bus. I guess the hotel is for the older generation, but that suited us just fine

I enjoyed my stay at the Norfolk Lodge with my family. It was a great location. It was easy to get to the bus station with regular services around the island.The hotel is central and would recommend for those wanting a budget stay. Breakfast was plentiful and staff attentive. Entertainment every night if that's your thing. Jersey is beautiful and would stay again if returning.

The property itself and the welcome of guest is on point. Receptionist and cleaners made us feel welcome and engaged in conversation or initiate one in passing.
Not disabled or those with mobility issues. Even after using lift, you will still need to climb a few steps to get onto the landing. The rooms are located on.
I would avoid dinner if you are vegetarian or expect to have a three course meal. Its actuallly more of a buffet advertised as an alcarte menu. As a vegetarian i ate vegetables that are coocked by itself, well the ingredients to a sunday roast. Not worth the price if you eat halal food. You will have the same food as a veg for a ridiculous price for eating vegetables.
Ambiance and music felt like being in an expensive restaurant but it didnt go well the service that was provided. Not even a welcome on the first day to how the 'buffet' worked but taken to seat and within 5 minutes asked what we wanted to eat. Anything that needs to be ordered from the kitchen is written down followed by trlling us where the plates are that dinner works like a buffet.
Water poured, no drink menu given (unsure if there is drink served at all) and to get a refil during the end of dinner service is hard. That because of setting up room for dinner.
Ambience felt as being on a conveyor belt where you seat, eat and go. Minimal contact with service staff who are busy clearing or setting up and seem annoyed when they are call them away srom whatever theyvl doing.

The staff were excellent - professional, friendly, courteous, helpful and understanding. Always willing to help out and provide support when needed. The food was also to a high standard.

The only downside to the hotel is that it is an old building so whilst the rooms are clean and tidy there are a lot of stairs in parts of the building which could causes issues for people with mobility problems although there are some easy access rooms avaialble.

We took our car the hotel was near the harbour in a good location, the main shops were in a short walk and so was the marina, lots of parking places at the hotel, main thing was the hotel the staff were excellent so helpfull no matter what problem you have they will sort it,they all were so professional, the food and choice was excellent all in all i couldn't fault it, i have'nt mensioned the swimming pool and the gym all in the price one good hotel and well run.

The staff were all lovely and special mention to Irina at brekafast who was consistently especially lovely with us. We will return as/when we return to Jersey.

Decent option if staying in St Helier

We decided to stay at this hotel as it one of the cheapest in St Helier.
Comfortable bedroom (1x double bed + 1x bunk bed for our kids), tidy and clean, same for the bathroom, excellent shower.
We used the swimming pool 1 day as the weather was bad, the water was cool, it could have been a bit warmer.
The staff (reception and breakfast) was overall polite and fairly pleasant to deal with.
The majority of people during our stay were pensioners, there was only 1 other family with young children like us, we stayed here during the end of May school holidays, so I assume that outside the school holidays all guests are usually pensioners.
The breakfast buffet was not bad at all, with sweet and savoury options, the only thing I didn't like was that (like in many other hotels and restaurants) the cutlery, the glasses and the plates were smelling of egg, which I find disgusting and it's something I can't ignore, so I had to walk to the nearest toilets and wash everything before usage.
The hotel is overall slightly outdated like other people have also noticed, however it didn't bother us.
It takes about 15 minutes on foot to reach the central area of St Helier.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The room was A nice size unfortunately it was very noisy with traffic at night even with the windows closed. The bathroom is extremely bright as there is no blinds to block the sun out. It is not very good for disabled people as there are lots of stares. Saying that I would recommend. .

Family trip to Jersey.

The Norfolk Lodge Hotel was everything we expected it to be. We had a family room with a double bed and bunk beds. The room was quiet and comfortable. We had tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

The breakfasts were great. There was a good selection of hot and cold food. They even allowed us to have an early breakfast at 5.30am on the last day, due to an early flight.

There was free parking on site. The location was good, and we could walk into St Helier.

The hotel was a little dated, but it was kept clean.

There was a swimming pool at the hotel, with towels available.

The hotel staff were all very friendly.

We enjoyed our stay, and we would return to this hotel.

3 star rating is about right, very clean, staff very friendly and helpful, restaurant and food was good, a nice bar area but could get noisy with the \"Entertainment\".
Nice warm indoor pool area.

The only draw back is there are a lot of stairs and only one lift that doesn't serve all areas. If you have a mobility problem then make sure you ask for a room that is accessible by lift.
The rooms themselves are a bit dated and could do with being refreshed, having said that, our room was very clean with a very comfortable bed.

Our room was a little tired and in need of refurbishment; the bed was too firm for me but I understand this is a personal preference and may be perfectly OK for others.
All of the staff that I came into contact with (reception, restaurant, housekeeping) were very good and investing in people is clearly an area of excellence for the hotel.
As regards the food, I thought that the breakfast offering was good but the buffet dinner was poor quality and overpriced.
I am a regular visitor to St Helier and there are better hotels nearby in this price bracket that I will use in the future.

Although the property in areas was in need of updating, our room certainly. it was clean and well looked after. The high point of the hotel was the food which was always delicious, with good choices and plentiful. The staff in the restaurant were pleasant and helpful.
The walk into the town centre of 10 - 15 minutes became a chore, and there was nowhere to have a stroll in the immediate vicinity. Having said that, if you don't mind being slightly out of the centre it is a good hotel.

Arrived in the afternoon, room was clean, staff were polite and friendly. It was a very hot afternoon, we requested a fan as room was stuffy, a fan was provided and used for the duration of our stay. In the evening there was entertainment in the downstairs lounge. Meals were good, breakfast was buffet style, always hot and fresh. Minor drawbacks - lots of steps to the upper floors and no lift to the front part of the hotel and no air conditioning to the bed rooms.

The staff in the hotel are very nice and friendly, The location is very good just a 10 minute walk to the town centre loads of shops and pubs.The breakfast was very nice and the main meals was very good too £25 for a 3 course dinner.Drinks £14 for two large wines and a Pint was £4.20 for a pale ale. Very easy to get about on the buses.

Generally the hotel was good but outdated.£160 a night for a 3 star with wood chip wallpaper and a tiny TV.
£70 a night max. All my friends, including islanders, couldn’t believe the price even during high season.
I didn’t have dinner but the breakfast was good.

Maintenance on the room was poor extraction fan not working toilet roll holder heading south shower was scalding if you turned control wrong way door to bathroom would not close very poor sound insulation we could hear everything the people above did even snoring walking around was like baby elephants bed was extremely hard for me not enough surface space to put things out either in the bathroom or bedroom breakfast was ok

I really enjoyed my short stay here. The hotel is an older, traditional style property, but was spotlessly clean in all public areas. The room I had was definitely basic decor, but contained everything I needed. Comfy bed, choice of pillows, clean linen. The bathroom was small, but was clean, had a good hot shower and very soft towels, free toiletries. Hairdryer in room, plus tea, coffee and biscuits. No air con, but the window opens ajar, but you will obviously get some road noise from 06:30 if the window is left open.The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar offer good quality food at reasonable prices. The breakfast selection is very good, both Continental or cooked English. The gym has various cycling, rowing machines and one cross trainer and free hand weights. Pool area is warm, with showers and changing facilities. The pool floor could be cleaner, but the water and surrounding pool area is fine. I would definitely stay here again as it offers good value for money, in a good location, with easy access into town or seafront (just a 10 min walk if you’re able bodied). A previous review said it was musty. In some corridor areas, there was a slight musty smell, but the hotel has only recently re-opened after a long winter / pandemic closure, so this is to be expected for a short time.

Spend the extra and stay somewhere else.

The room was damp and there was an overpowering smell of must in the room so I spent most of the trip blowing my nose. They are clearly aware of this as they provided a box of tissues in the room. The room was not clean, it was very tired and dated. The curtains did not block any light whatsoever so I was awake as soon as the sun came up. I only eat porridge for breakfast which, on the first day was lovely, and on the second day was like soup, it was so watery I could not eat it. The staff were fantastic and very welcoming, so no issues with the staff as they were all brilliant.

We had to change to the Best Western Hotel as our original hotel was shut. The staff was amazing, very helpful and accommodating. The hotel was a ‘little tired’ but everything else was superb. Had a very good breakfast and bar meals were also enjoyable. Excellent position of the hotel in st Helier.

Norfolk Lodge - Worth a look!

Can't really fault the place at all. Staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel was in a good state of repair and decor. The exceptionally clean indoor heated pool was a bonus. The breakfast bar was well stocked with cold and hot options. If this is a three star hotel, then it's at the top end. Would stay again and recommend to others.

Norfolk Has A Lot But Needs More

Rooms are small but comfortable. First room we were given was unacceptable, but we were able to change it. Second room had better towels, much better linens, light, view, carpet. Because we were there 21 nights, we requested a refrigerator and extra table. Too bad these aren't standard in the rooms. Also required a very long extension cord. Hotel has really poor wi-fi service and awkwardly placed electrical outlets. I had to leave the hotel to post pictures and use Facebook. Several staff members seemed surprised that I was having this problem but finally one told me that their wi-fi does not work well will Apple products, iPhone/iPad. Shameful. No safe in room and you have to use a potentially inefficient system of security bagging which is only accessible when a manager is on property. One day we asked for bag at noon and were told wouldn't be available until after 4pm. We were able to work with this, but had we been low on funds and heading out, could have been a serious problem. Breakfast service is lush, ample, appealing to Brits, but to this American, it was rather awful. I was unable to get an \"over hard\" fried egg. Scrambled eggs sitting in water. Canned oranges, grapefruit, prunes. Cold Danish/croissants. We went out for breakfast most days even though it was included with room. Menu-for-pay should be available. Regular menu food is tasty, fairly priced. Shower needs small shelf for soap/toiletries. Staff members were very nice and cheerful. Loved swimming pool!

The pool was fine, the hotel seemed a little jaded, the vibe was more retirement home than smart, modern hotel but that maybe is what appeals to the clientele, who were of an older demographic. Breakfast could start a little earlier (maybe 07:30), for those who need to get away quickly.

2 couples enjoying end of summer weekend in Jersey

Weekend in Jersey with friends (two couples). Room #1 was OK but located on top floor of the annexe with very basic fittings (1 cupboard) and small TV on the wall. Room #2 was located main building on 3rd floor which was OK but again was very basic. The service was very good in general and the breakfast and evening meals were beautiful - couldn't fault the food, just disappointed with rooms.

The hotel is in an excellent location with very good facilities.

I had a single room although the furniture was a little dated the bed was very comfortable and the room was cleaned to a very high standard.

Breakfast was very good with a very wide choice on offer. The staff were very friendly and worked tirelessly to keep the very busy restaurant moving.

The pool and gym were very quiet and again very clean. There was always somewhere to park.

The hotels location is very good although walking is best as parking in St Helier is a bit of a nightmare.

Overall a wonderful hotel.

15 minutes walk to the beach, great place to stay and staff were very helpful.

Good breakfast, though i had to wait 10 minutes to be seated when it opened as there was a queue of people. But the breakfast made up for it.

Standard of service from all the staff was first class. Excellent breakfast. All very clean.
Room in older annexe was lovely but suffers from road noise (needs secondary double glazing). This is the reason for not giving it an ‘excellent’ rating.
Hotel is about 15 minutes walk from St Helier town centre. It also has parking which is a bonus

We were initially booked at the annex which could do with some refarb fortunately we were quickly upgraded after the managers approval thanks to the nice lady at the reception.Robert was always very hopeful aswell. The hotel is quiet, location good as close proximity to town I also appreciate that we were allowed to check out alot later as we had an afternoon flight back home, overall pleasant experience with exellent hospitality will definitely come back again Thanks for a great experience notfolk lodge hotel.

Very happy with the Norfolk Lodge Hotel, Jersey.

The hotel had a plush, smart, welcoming entrance. The bar, lounge and dining room were smart up to date and relaxing. The staff were immaculately dressed and cared for my stay very well.
The room was very pleasant and well supplied with tea and coffee and replenished and the room was regularly cleaned during the stay. I really hope to stay here again next year.

2 sleepless nights

Last min stay as our return ferry had been cancelled due to poor weather. Booked a family room with cor for baby. The hotel assumed that putting a damilly with 2 small kids on the top floor of their annex with no lift and tight winding staircases was a good isea.

It wasn’t

Food and service were all fine but the beds are without a doubt, the most uncomfortable i have ever slept in, with rock hard mattresses and pillows well beyond their best.

The whole annex need a refurb from top to bottom to at least bring in line with the rest of the hotel which was a little more modern.

A lovely family friendly hotel. I stayed in August with my 14 year old daughter. Although the corridors and room were slightly dated the en suite bathroom was brand new, the breakfast room light an airy and the bar and lounge areas lovely. The pool was great to have - sun loungers adjacent and also on the upstairs terrace. Plenty parking in the secure car park. The walk into town is not far - 10-15 minutes at the most. We ate in the bar one evening and the food was lovely, great choice and service. We joined in the Friday night quiz, part of the evening entertainment programme (comedian, magician and singer other nights). The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We will definitely visit again.
