I stayed on the 5th floor and was grateful for the (very slow) elevator. The room was relatively quiet for London but the heater did not manage to heat against the cold air coming through the not very well insulated window early January when it was freezing outside. The room was of reasonable size and all key items you would expect (kettle, cup, tea, coffee, wardrobe and TV) available. The TV didn't work, but I got that fixed through bringing the remote to reception and a change of batteries, the kettle didn't fit into the tiny sink but a water bottle could fill it. There were a few hairs on the bed linen, dust in specific places and cups not washed daily. The shower head was blocked but even after cleaning it myself, the shower pressure was very low - causing some difficulties getting shampoo out of the hair. The room/bathroom could do with some TLC but I have seen worse in London. The staff was polite and helpful and the reception 24 hours manned.

We booked a triple apartment including a separate twin room expecting spacious and safe accommodation for our family, including two young children. We arrived in the evening to be told we didn’t have a booking. After 30 minutes, the hotel admitted a systems error meant out booking hadn’t been fulfilled and they had no availability, except for a smaller apartment.

This meant our young children had to share a bed and my wife and I had to sleep on an uncomfortable sofa bed in the same room. This downgrade severely disrupted our holiday, requiring us to sit in the dark after our children’s bedtime to avoid waking them and leaving us with stiff backs and necks after two nights of discomfort.

We were told they would check for a larger room the following day, but nothing was available. The room itself was tired with broken tiles etc, but more concerning was apparent lack of regard for safety, with a broken safety latch on the window allowing it to open fully and a fire extinguisher that had been marked as last serviced over 8 years ago.

Despite all of this, the hotel have been refusing to issue any amount of refund on the booking, despite fully admitting fault over the reservation. Safe to say we won’t be back.

The property was in a great location to the Tube, stores and restaurants. The main issue with the property had to do with their lack of good mattresses. Despite them changing my room mid-stay due to the condition of the mattress in the initial room, the second room likewise had a very bad mattress. The rooms were cleaned daily and the towels replaced as well. The breakfast was of a continental type with the same items each day. The staff was very helpful and pleasant.

The location, around the corner from Paddington Station, was easy to maneuver. We included the breakfast in the reservation and were pleasantly surprised by the full buffet of cereal, yogurt, ham, cheese, breakfast rolls, bread and more. We traveled with young kids and were accommodated well.

It was a horrible experience. The beds were horrible to the point where it was depressing. The room was EXTREMELY small, old really old and disgusting. We had no choice because our flight was canceled and we had to stay there. The shower was so tiny that we had to step half our bodies out to be able to shower completely. The rugs were old. The hallway was a laberynth with old rugs and smell. The upsetting situation was that on your website the rooms looked decent and new. What a terrible experience we had. I booked two rooms. Because my mother is a senior and her experience was just as bad in her room.

The property is minutes via train from heathrow airport. The location has a street with many selections for eatting, drinking and very close to a metro stop. The room is what you pay for an I found it clean and nice. The hotel staff was helpful. The breakfast is a bit overpriced compared to what you can get just outside. I would be happy to return to this hotel in future visits.

First time in London

For the first time in London, didn’t expect there are no a/c in the hotel’s room. Walking distance to Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace. Underground was a block away. There were many choices for the hungry one.

The room reasonably ok, but the bathroom way too small with a tiny shower, baby basin (ok to wash hand only ), main room a kettle provides but you have to put it on the floor by the door way in front of the bath room to be boil as there is only place that have sockets to be plugged in, there is one by the bed but not enough room . Room is very noisy in the early hours of the morning .

The exterior of this hotel is charming, but the interior does not match the exterior. We knew there was no air con and that the rooms were small. We did NOT know how small the bathrooms were. The two twin room we were given had a bathroom the size of a coat closet. My husband has broad shoulders and could not sit on the toilet without knocking the toilet paper roll off its holder. The sink was so small, I couldn't fill my water bottle so I don't know HOW we were meant to fill the kettle. We thought opening the window would help cool off the room when the cooler evening temperatures arrived. With the third-floor room overlooking an unappealing courtyard, there wasn't much of a breeze coming in the window, which we had to prop open with a hanger. The fan provided did little more than push hot air around the room. The London Plane trees not found in the states drove my allergies went nuts, so the open window was bad. We tried to give it a chance, but we gave up and booked an air-conditioned hotel near Lambeth. I will try to recover funds in full or part, but I doubt any success.

Hotel rooms are horrible. Room was tiny, en-suite was miniscule. Bed was hard, pillows flat. Only one very small towel each. The only thing good about this property is the location, one block from London Paddington Station. Otherwise, unless you are a single backpack traveler, avoid it. I stayed with my wife and two children and was placed into a 10ft x 10ft room with no air conditioning. If you want ice, you have to go to the pub next door. As for the TV, my laptop has a bigger screen and there are no signal. We used this as a way station for a trip to Spain and decided during that trip to move to a different hotel.

I have traveled for many years and stayed on at all levels of hotels and hostels. As well as on cruise ships. This is the first review I have written, but thought it necessary to steer others away from this location. I cannot and will not recommend this \"hotel\"!

Check in was fine but I emailed the hotel three times prior to check in with some questions I had and they did not respond. The bed was not very comfortable and the pillows were terrible. I asked for a new pillow and they left another one the was quite old and flat. Location was near a subway station and there are a lot of good restaurants in the area.

First and foremost- the staff was very friendly. With that said....the room itself was bad. The mattress is extremely uncomfortable. It is hard and you can feel the coils. We stayed for 2 nights and barely slept. The bathroom- TINY. The shower is so small you can barely turn around, much less bend over to wash your feet. The door also stuck so we could not shut the bathroom door without getting stuck inside. The breakfast was all bread with the exception of some cheese and deli meat. I cannot eat bread so this was very disappointing to me. The location is good, but that doesn’t compensate for the overall bad experience.

A convenient centre for visiting London.

The hotel room was small but comfortable enough though it got a bit warm at night as the window didn’t open very far. The bathroom was cramped. The staff were welcoming and efficient but the wifi was disappointingly slow and died quite often. Breakfast was continental style buffet and very adequate. There are lots of nice restaurants in the immediate area.

The rooms were difficult to find. It is a very old building and a bit of a maze. The rooms are small but the bed was comfortable. The washroom was small. One of our family members got locked in the washroom so we had to be very careful shutting the washroom door. It was not working well. The place was fine but certainly not amazing.

My husband and I thought this hotel was overpriced for what we got. The room was super tiny with very little room for two people and luggage. It was hard to walk around. The pillows were not comfortable and the bed itself was ok. The bathroom was basic with just a toilet, small sink, and very small shower. If you are 6 feet or above, it’s super hard to shower.

On our vacation through the UK, we stayed at three hotels and this one was the worst of the three. We won’t stay here again when we return to London.

The good- location was fine. It’s very close to Paddington Station and Hyde Park. The general area is nice.

Husband and I were in room 4, lower level. The room is so small that we felt we were in the lowest floor of a cruise ship in an inner cabin. It is so small that it should be classified as a single room. The sink is half of a normal size sink and if you’re more than 180 lbs, you won’t be able to move around the shower area. We were scared to open the curtain to let some fresh air in due to the conditions of the basement area. Old plants and old furniture stacked in there who knows if there are tiny critters crawling about ...

The only good thing about this hotel is the proximity to Paddington Station. We needed to be close to the Heathrow Express and this was the only hotel under £100/ night. Pubs, fish and chips, souvenir shops, McDonald’s and Burger King are in the area.

The room had an electric fan and tea/coffee making supplies. Every time you leave the hotel you have to return the key to the front desk. WiFi was steady. No toiletries provided and towels and toilet paper are very thin. Discounted tour/ theater tickets can be bought in the lobby.

Great location, room a bit small and tatty - curtains not hung properly so didn’t block out any light, loose shelf in the limited storage space and concealed wiring not concealed anymore. Breakfast also a bit disappointing consisting as it did of cheap processed ham and cheese, cereal or rubbery croissants.
Staff were very friendly and polite but unfortunately that didn’t compensate for a generally underwhelming stay. Only real plus was the location which was superb so I guess if you just want somewhere to put your head down, it’ll do.

Basic - very basic - know what to expect

There was a hole in the towel when I started using it showering. Also, the shower head could have been dipped in some vinegar to clean out the limescale as it sprayed and was clogged in different places.
The cleaners woke me up on Sunday with a radio on while cleaning and knocked on the door.
When I ordered a taxi I asked specifically for one that would take card - the person at the desk did not ask for that and when the taxi arrived I had to stop off and get money out which charged me an extra 13 euro on top of the 10 pounds + exchange rate that I had to take out.
Overall it was fine, basic but would have made a huge difference with the room if there was more attention to detail regarding things like worn out towels and the shower head.

If you take it as a place that is more like a hostel and a little run down then it does the job.

The hotel it’s self was lovely & very convenient for traveling about the city & up to Heathrow, using the Heathrow Express!
Only thing I did NOT like was the fact we had to leave the key to the room at reception when we left the hotel to go for a meal!
I felt any member of staff could have just taken our key to gain access to our room!
Also the shower room was extremely small it’s a good job we didn’t have to have a shower as I don’t think I would have liked how small it was!

Hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The room was definitely small but still cozy enough for 2 people to be comfortable. However, the bathroom was ridiculously small and my husband had a time even using the toilet due to the small space. Also, the carpet in the room had stains and needed upgrading. The breakfast was average but really only included yogurt, cereal, toast, ham and cheese.

The maintenance in the room wasn't really up to scratch. The hot tap wouldn't turn off even though I reported it
The telephone to 're work on didn't have anywhere to plug in, so I had to go down from fourth floor to tell reception my tv not working..tje light above the kettle area went. Again I reported an nothing done.
Reception on Sunday very good and helpful.
Monday...none of my reports got dealt with.
Tuesday...the reception wrote down all the maintenance issues and didn't seem happy that not been set with. Especially the hot tap not turning off at the sink. The telephone really needs to be sorted in case of an emergency.
There was also someone playing guitar on the floor after midnight....because of no telephone......
I had to find the room and ask them to stop as I needed sleep.
But the room was warm and cosy. The window a little stiff to open for air.

Hotel has a great location, very close to both public buses as well as the bus tour companies. Close to Paddington Station so easy to get anywhere in the city. Hotel was very clean but room was quite small. Wifi was questionable, we were only able to connect about half of the time. Tour guide in the hotel is very friendly and helpful.

This is a very spartan accommodation right in the middle of Paddington. It was exactly all I needed, but know that it is very limited in the extras. I enjoyed great sleep in a very clean room, which was extremely small. It was all I needed, I was out all day and just needed the room to sleep and shower. I didn't partake of the breakfast, but I understand it was extremely limited.
They left tea bags, sugar and milk each day which I enjoyed each evening when I came back.

I don’t often leave reviews but I feel compelled to warn other travelers about this place. This is the worst hotel I’ve had to stay at. Ever. Besides a cramped room with a lumpy old bed and a toilet you can’t sit on because you legs hit the sink, there was a red stain on the bed cover (ketchup or something else) a rust stain on the wall that hadn’t been cleaned and a kettle with a cord that wouldn’t reach the plug. Honestly, I felt I was part of some wicked joke. This is not a hotel. It’s not even a hostel. You have been warned.

We had a one night stay so we could be close to Paddington station for an early flight. The Wi-Fi didn't work in our room and after standing in reception to get a connection it was so slow it took 45 min to just log on to confirm our flights for the next day. We also had a light-well that our window looked out on. The light well had two very strong lights and our curtains were not block out so had a room full of light while trying to sleep. Eventually, we had these turned off but it was quite late by this time and we had a very early flight the next day.
