Extremely noisy street outside - were woken at 5am by 2 hours of barrels being loaded into a nearby pub. No room to put a suitcase or even a kettle and pantry provisions were a bit disappointing

A lovely quaint hotel fantastically located near Paddington station and Hyde Park. Perfect for our trip to Winter Wonderland. The staff were friendly, the rooms immaculately cleaned and the Victorian style bathrooms very cute. House keeping was also very good and changed our towels and made the bed.

Sadly there are some cons. The lift was out of service (and from the reviews it sounds like this is a recurring problem, not a one off) and our room was located down what felt like a service passage behind the kitchen. This was made quite inconvenient when we arrived with suitcases because they had decided to stack tables and chairs in this narrow hallway for an event. So thanks for that.

The “large” room is not very large, and not suitable for 2 people. There is a “wardrobe” that can hold exactly one coat, a single luggage rack, two small bed side tables and a windowsill. There are no other surfaces to put things on so the majority of our stuff ended up on the floor.

We were quite sad to discover no in-room kettle. This is a basic facility provided by the worst premier inns. Instead your only option is the very expensive coffee place in the lobby. The free water bottles and refill station was a nice touch though.

The room was also very cold in November, with a single pane window and a tiny radiator that did little to heat the room.

Our biggest complaint by far however is that our window was located at the front of the building and there are multiple pubs next door and a

As every other review mentioned: the rooms are TINY but you’re not booking this place for the room - you’re booking it because it’s in a fantastic location. You cannot beat the convenience, walkability, proximity to transportation hubs, restaurants, bars, attractions, etc.

plus the property makes up for the size in other great ways: they have a cold water bottle filling station, the body products are lovely, the property is beautiful, and the bed is comfortable.

Check in was underwhelming by having to self serve ourselves, the reception area was unclear and difficult to find as it turned out to be people that looked like they were hot-desking. We were able to check in early, which was a bonus.

However the room was small! It was labelled a medium but it was small for two adults and limited room to walk around one side of the bed.

Good breakfast, however service was very slow.
Good location right by Paddington station, which I can see makes the hotel more expensive. However, the hotel costs the same as the Hoxton chain and I feel they offer better value for money

Room was clean, but edge of sink needed a little attention. The rubber trim was lifting in the corners, they took care of it right away.
It is a cute hotel, but the rooms are on the small side. We booked the large room and that was a bit of a stretch for us both, but we don't spend much time in our room, we are out and about. It is a cozy hotel, close to pubs, easy to walk to sites, Paddington station is across the street. We choose this place for location and convenience.

This hotel is a tale of two halves. The lobby and dining areas are lovely and quite stylish. Describing the room as \"basic\" is a complement. It was miniscule with no space to hang your clothes.

Worse is the labrynth of stairs that you must travel to get to your room once getting out of the lift. It may hold a certain charm for folks who like old buildings, but it is a unsafe nightmare for a person like me, who has a disability. Also, you have to walk through an outdoor bridge in the rain to get to the wing with your room.

All of this would be fine and fair if there was some sort of description of the venue in the hotel details upon booking. Then, the customer would have the chance to make an informed decision about whether to book a stay. Instead, you are greeted by a hipper-than-thou clerk who impatiently explains the weird and winding journey you must take to get to your cell-size room.

No where near worth the price.

Great breakfast included in the room rate. Clean and comfortable room, with an amazing (and hot) shower. Friendly staff and nothing too much trouble. Also, a great, central location and very convenient to get around. We had a street facing room and worried we wouldn’t sleep due to noise - no issues whatsoever, slept well and comfortably with minimal sound. Would recommend and stay again if ever in London overnight.

Cute small hotel with close proximity to Paddington Station. A bit quirky with crazy access to rooms - even using the elevator there are several stairs and fire doors to contend with. The small rooms are really small so not great if you have a lot of luggage. However I really lovely this hotel and there is a nice coffee bar in the entrance hall.

In my experience, this is an overrated property and question the authenticity of of the hotel being 4 Star. This is not better than the Hilton across the street. I'm sharing my Google review too. Even a week later, I'm still surprised at how over rated and over priced this hotel is. No one should pay more than $200 / 150 pounds for a large room at this place.

No business travelers should stay here. Anyone over 35 shouldn’t stay here. Anyone from North America shouldn’t stay here. I paid $270 USD for a room that smelled of garbage plus smoke from the alley. No air conditioning or climate control. The bathroom fan was broken and disgusting. This place is in my top 3 worst hotels ever. I was debating between the Hilton and this hotel. The Hilton was $30 more. What a mistake. I question the 5 star reviews as legitimate. Maybe they are a bunch of 20 somethings that don’t know any better. Relight now I’m listening to some drunk guy singing in the alley. Even had a homeless looking guy piggybacking into the hotel when I came in. I am not a door man.
There is no front desk. It’s more like a dormitory with an RA to greet you. This place is barely two steps up from a hostel. The elevator didn’t even go to the floor the room is on. It is not accessible. If you can't carry all your luggage up a flight of Victorian-era steps, then don't stay here.

Great we arrived and got early check in. The lift was broken so had to carry cases up two flights of stairs. No iron in the room so asked if one could be brought up.( had to do this twice with two different people and still no iron was brought to the room for the whole stay) The room didn’t have AC it was like an oven( standing fan blowing hot air) No coffee/or tea making facilities in the room. Very disappointed and had no sleep for the two nights we were there. Would not book this hotel again. Shame great location.

Smaller than a student’s box room

We completed an online form prior to check in and were allocated a check in time of 2.30pm. We arrived at 2.45pm as our train was late and were told that check in was from 3pm, which meant we had to wait as our room wasn’t ready.

We feel that that the advertising on the website makes the hotel look a lot better than it is and is false.

We booked a medium-sized room at a cost of £274. This in itself is very expensive considering the size of the room we were given. It was absolutely tiny and difficult to move around in.

Breakfast was poor and took a very long time to arrive.

All of these things meant that our stay was not enjoyable at all. Our stay was for a special occasion which was completely ruined.

We looked at lots of hotels in London but chose this one based on their advertising.

Hotel was ok, weird system for check in just with people on a laptop in the front of the hotel. Which was abit difficult when people were checking in and out. Staff were nice and breakfast food was good. Just a shame the room as incredibly hot, the room was at the back of the hotel so was in direct site of the apartments behind. There is a smoking area for the pub below at the back. Then also there was building work that stared at 7am on Saturday and Sunday. Stay was ok but abit gutted about the noise levels and how warm the rooms were after spending quite a lot of money for a 2 night stay.

Getting in touch with the staff was nearly impossible. They agreed to cancel my reservation early due to how disappointed I was with the accommodations, but Hotels.com was never able to reach them to confirm. There was no air conditioning during a major London heat wave—while I understand this may be common, it should have been clearly stated in the listing. Additionally, although they allowed my friend’s two dogs to stay for one night, they reversed the decision the following day, forcing us to move hotels. I would not stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay in this little hotel with plenty of personality. It’s quirky and one has to be expecting that. The staff are wonderful- smiling, easy to reach and helpful. We were a bit concerned that there was no air conditioning but they supplied us with two fans and room temp was fine. The breakfast was delicious- I wish we had included it in our booking. And it’s super convenient to Paddington station, just half a block,so easy to reach from LHR and easy to get around London. Plus close to Hyde Park through a stretch of Bayswater, and to Little Venice. Quite pleased we stayed there and would come again. I would advise booking the larger rooms as the small and medium are small.

If you just need a night to stay for the location (Paddington station), then this place will do. Otherwise, it's noisy (inside and outside), small rooms and always hot in there. I'd hate to go there when it was hot outside! Yes, they give you a fan in the room, but it's loud and only moves the hot air around. Bathrooms as also very tight. I won't stay there again.

Great location to Paddington, nice staff, and \"compact\" bunk room (which was expected). What I didn't expect was how noisy it would be there. I know they can't control other patrons, but people were loud and slamming doors constantly. Nice they have coffee/tea stations, however one was right outside my room which also was a cause of more noise. Would have preferred not being near that.

This is a boutique hotel with a convenient setting near Paddington Station. It has a coffee house in the lobby/entry. The staff were kind but not overly friendly. Breakfast options were very nice. Please note, the rooms are tiny which means the bathrooms are also tiny and there is no lift. Thankfully these were not an issue for us, but if you are unable to use stairs easily or are a taller/larger person, you may feel a lot more cramped. There is a park across the street and a lot of touristy shops nearby. Pubs and restaurants are plentiful within a short walk. It was perfect for one night.

Average to disappointing unfortunately.

The first thing to say is don't be fooled by the wide angle shots of the rooms. Our was a \"large\" with barely enough space to swing a cat.
The location is very noisy, with lots of locals, street people and traders busy all through the night.
The breakfast is far too expensive. Save your money and go to McDonald's 3 doors down tbh.
Overall average to disappointing I'm afraid.
Staff are very friendly though.

This is our new go-to hotel in London!

We are already thinking about our next trip to London and we will definitely stay here when we come back. The hotel is AMAZING - historical, quaint, but updated. They did a phenomenal job in providing modern updates in this Grade II Victorian structure and did not lose any of the charm. They are eco-friendly and will clean your room/towels by request. We really felt at home here. There is lounge that serves breakfast and cocktails. The vibe is beyond compare. There is a classic English pub, The Dickens, next door that actually attached (meaning you can go from the pub to your hotel room without stepping outside).

Apart from the actual accommodations of the hotel (which we adored), the location could not have been more perfect. We vacationed here at the Christmas holiday and this hotel was close enough to everything to easily explore London, but out of the madness of the crowds and throngs of people. During our trip, we explored LITERALLY every neighborhood in London and no matter where we explored, we (my husband and I) were glad we stayed at The Pilgrm.

You are within walking distance of Hyde Park and other local landmarks, but only a stone's throw from Paddington Station. Staying near Paddington gives you all the convenience of taking the Heathrow Express (or other transport) to the Airport and there are several tube lines that go in/out of this station. Therefore, if you don't feel like walking, public transport is less than a block from the hotel.

Unable to connect to internet. Reception tried to assist but could not get me connected on any device. Bar/lounge was closed due to function. Room was freezing, heater not working. Brought in an oil radiator which then occupied 30% of floor space. When I was shown room heater location I could not believe how much dirt and dust was around the radiator. Known radiator issue as all the panel screws to radiator were missing.

Avoid this place! You will not get what you paid for! Don’t fall for the pictures in the website! Their excuse will be “ we have 78 different rooms” the hallways have a smell to them. Not to mention, they never responded to my emails or whats app text before I got there. False advertisement!

Tiniest room ever

It's hard to appreciate just how tight the bunk room is. The picture is from the loo into the room.

There's almost nowhere to put a suitcase, much less two suitcases!

During our second stay at the pilgrm we had a room that faced the street. There was noise from the people outside on the street until very late. The window was not soundproof at all. Our earlier stay had a window opening on an allyway and it was much quieter. Hotel is very close to Paddington Ststion and lots of restaurants.

Great hotel in a great location.

Extremely convenient, clean, and comfortable hotel. Very close to Paddington Station and very convenient for travel to/from LHR and underground. Great cafe in the lobby. Large rooms, very modern and extremely clean. Will absolutely stay here again when I return to London. London Street can be a bit noisy at night but not too bad.

Great stay!

Great little hotel with nice people. The pre check in was a little confusing but we got it worked out. The rooms are well done and small but to be expected in the city. There was street noise but it wasn’t an issue for us. The only thing that could improve would be more shelf, table or space to put luggage. There were unused corners that could have accommodated more surface space. And better ventilation. Next time we will bring a small usb fan for the window. I I’ll def stay there again.

Pilgrm Hotel Review

This is a very convenient hotel for Paddington station with its Tube, Elizabeth Line, and Heathrow Express options. The rooms are small but comfortable with easy to understand showers! The breakfasts are really good. The receptionists are friendly too at any time of day or night.

You cannot go wrong with a property so close to so many different transportation options that has its own coffee bar, own restaurant with outstanding food, and excellent customer service. When I go back in 2025 to London I will do what I can to secure a room at the pilgrim again.
