This hotel is fine and very close to Paddington station, I booked a double room for less than £60 which is a very good price for central London, the room, the bathroom & bedding were all clean and the hotel was quiet when I stayed mid-week

I booked a twin bed, on arrival got a single and told I could pay for an upgrade. My room was right next to reception and very noisy. The room was freezing and I had to sleep with a sink about 6 inches from my head

The room was clean and comfortable. Access to the surrounding areas such as Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens and Palace and Buckingham Palace are in easy walking distance. The only issue, and I didn't raise it was the shower drain didnt drain. As such we had to have a very slow running shower to avoid it flooding the entire bathroom.

Don't book this hotel. The room carpet is dirty. There could be something in the bed that made me skin allergy after slept the first night. They did not provide the towels every days. Actually no new towels when we stayed there for four days. The most terrible thing was that the shower was not working, it was either extremely hot-burning hot, or extremely cold. We asked for a room change, the agent refused to do so, instead, he came to the room trying to fix it. He spent about 30 minutes, and seems to fix it, but it only worked for one shower, and it stopped working when the second one tried to take the shower. So we did not have any shower during the stay. The manager told us they actually could have changed the room for us, it's too late, but why their agent refused to do so? Staying in this hotel is a nightmare!!!

A Lovely Stay near Paddington Station

I booked this hotel last minute and was really impressed with the value for money. I arrived quite late in the evening (close to 11pm), but there was friendly staff on hand straight away – it’s reassuring to have a 24/7 reception.

Although I had booked a single room, I was kindly upgraded to a spacious double room on the ground floor, which was a lovely surprise. The room itself was very clean and comfortable, with plenty of bedding, complimentary tea and coffee, and even a fan provided. The bathroom looked freshly modernised, and the double doors helped keep the room quiet and peaceful.

Both check-in and check-out were handled with genuine friendliness, and it really felt like the staff cared about their guests and the business. Overall, a very refreshing and enjoyable stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again – highly recommended!

Good Value for Money, but Room for Improvement

For its tier, the hotel is good quality for the price. Two small issues, however:

(1) The hotel's listing on Hotels.com advertised a 2 PM check-in. Upon arrival at ~1:45, I was told that they add an hour to the check-in time to prepare the room, and to come back at 3 PM. Sheer misrepresentation.

(2) In the room I eventually received, there was no hand towel, the free-standing fan only stood when delicately balanced on its collapsing base, and the nightstand drawers were falling apart.

Otherwise, the room was serviceable for the two nights I spent there. The area is a touch noisy with tourists, but it wasn't intolerable.

Always book through hotels.com or other external sites. The manager makes up higher prices (50% higher) when you try to book directly. This is even when you show him the listings and prices on sites like hotels.com. Doesn't have an good answer. Just ignores. Very strange. Otherwise good value.

Steer clear of the 'Budget Room.' It's in the basement between the dining room and the desk in the hallway used as reception. The room is tiny. I could lay in bed, reach out to the side and turn the tap on the tap in the sink. No exageration. Stains on the towel. TV remote didnt work (the staff tried his best, going through a handful of clearly dead batteries). Bed is crazy soft: my back was killing me. The other rooms might be nice but definitely not the budget one. Staff were very nice. I stay in London every week for business. Will be avoiding this one.

No elevator ( no lift). The stairs is high and narrow. It is not good for old people to walk with heavy luggage.

The room is very small, the restroom in shower area is equal my body. It is difficult to take shower, but clean.

The owner lives there and nice. But it is good for small budget of travel. If you are young people and have limited budget then the place is perfect.

Stayed 1 night before flying home after solo trip to England. Manager was very helpful, great breakfast included (continental, extra cost for more). Had great rate for (as expected) tiny room up many many stairs (no lift, which I was aware of and had no problem with, but could be an issue for others). Was great value for the cost for me, I've stayed in a few other properties in the area (Sussex Garden near Paddington), this one was one of the better ones.

Small rooms, fantastic location

A small hotel very close to Paddington. The rooms are small, and there are no lifts/elevators in the building. The service is a bit patchy - although advertised with checkin at 2pm; this was only available around 2:45; but they are happy to store your bags and there is a great English breakfast included in the rate. If you need to stay around Paddington, and don’t need a lot of space, it’s a great choice.

Great location near Victoria St., Hyde Park. Room supposed to be 28m2, it was not. One doublebed and two singlebeds, left only a small aisle to walk. Clean room, quiet neigbourhood. Friendly staff. The breakfast is a joke, don´t bother to try. Guess it´s the location you pay for.

Highly recommended

We took our 2 young boys to London for the day and stayed one night. Everyone was extremely lovely, helpful and accommodating. We found our family room to be fairly modern with crisp white bedding and the bathroom was really nice and spotless. The place itself is very close to Hyde Park and Paddington station and although on a fairly busy road it's all very leafy. We'd definitely stay there again.

Nicely kept premises. Very clean.Felt a safe environment. Close to Paddington with nice staff

I picked this hotel for its close location to Paddington as I was showing my parents around London and we had a lot of luggage. The hotel has no elevator but we managed. I have to say that the manager is super nice and accommodating. I think he's fluent in 4 languages and I witnessed this in action at breakfast! Breakfast was really nice as it's cooked on the spot and quite hearty. I think this is better than the buffet-style breakfasts I've had at other similar hotels.

Hotel is clean and the owner is very friendly. You can't beat the location--a five minute walk from the Paddington train station. The neighborhood is charming and beautiful. It is also adjacent to Hyde Park. My bed was pretty worn out, though, and I stayed in Room 0. Maybe the other beds in the other rooms are okay.

Is't first time during our stay in London we find so nice hotel. very close to Paddington. Very clean rooms. Helpful and polite staff (madam speak Russian), real big room (not only the bad, but also a table and arm-chair and a wardrobe) and really reach breakfast for your choice- English or Continental. Lovely stay, but room not great

The hotel manager was very polite and helpful throughout our stay. My husband and I had a room near the top of the hotel that looked very tired. The breakfast room was very light and modern, and the breakfasts were great. Because the hotel is good for visiting London and we had a lovely few days, I asked to see another room lower down. We were shown a double close to the breakfast room and although it was smaller than the room we had, it was extremely better because it was in a new extension. I did not agree that we paid as much for the very tired room compared to this, so I would advise asking for one of the newer rooms and one on the ground or first floor if anyone has mobility problems.

Nice cosy hotel in very good location

Ccosy small hotel in very good location. Few minutes to Paddington mainline station and Paddington Tube for Bakerloo line to Picadilly, Trafalgar square and Embankment. Few minutes walk to Lancaster Gate Tube for Central line to Oxford circus, St Pauls and Tower Bridge. Nearby to shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Located in quiet and safe location.

The Manager and his wife team are very good hosts. Friendly,helpful and approachable. They serve good breakfast, Continental and English. Breakfast are cooked fresh and plenty of choice. They make good Tea and coffee.

Hotel is old and needs refurbishment in the room. Although for the price and location, and knowing that it is a 2 star hotel, one should not grunmble about that. The rooms and shower are clean but can do with a bit more dusting and shower head needs replacement. The comment is based on the single room I stayed in so I am not sure if it is the same for the other rooms. The single room is small. There si no fridge or safe. But the bonus is that there is free Wifi and has strong signal even on the fifth floor. If you are not fit, be aware that the single room are on the top fifth floor and there is no lift. However for young able bodied, the 5 flights of stairs should not be a problem if you do not have heavy luggage. Limited parking is available at the front of hotel.

Good for short breaks. Would I stay there again. Yes, for the price, central quiet and safe location, friendly hosts, breakfast and free Wifi.

The hotel manager, David, was fantastic. He was very accommodating even when I had made a mistake with my booking. He made my overall experience exceptional.

The location was also great, very close to Paddington station.

The rooms and such were old and a bit musky. No elevator.

Worst Hotel Experience.

The worst hotel experience I've ever had. I had to carry my luggage all the way up to the 5th floor using their staircase. The bathroom/bedroom was really smelly and small, the ceiling had water stains, and the room was just not clean all together. Me and my wife are fairly small in size and we still had trouble moving around in the bathroom stall. The phone in the room does not work and the hotel claimed that the restaurant only works internally but that's BS. Worst of all, they turned off the heat in the middle of the night - keep in mind, we visited in December. Would never go back again.

Ça nous suffisait pour 4 nuits car nous étions là uniquement le soir pour dormir, après nos journées de visites à l'extérieur.
Arrivée tardive le premier soir vers 23h00.
Nous avons été accueillis par le réceptionniste.
Très bien situé,
À quelques minutes à pied de la station de Paddington.
Pleins de restaurants à proximité.
Wifi gratuit. Prises USB dans la chambre.
