Tv in room and a kettle with plentiful supply of tea, coffee, sugar and milk.
Window actually opened, which was great. Good to see a fan on the wall for when it’s warm weather.
Staff very helpful and friendly. There was always someone around.
Short easy walk to Paddington station.
Would definitely come back.

The bed and pillows were comfortable though a bit small for two people. There lack of hooks to hang anything anywhere was a bit of an inconvenience particularly in the bathroom where there was no place to hang towels. Biggest issue is that heating gets turned off automatically. If you come back in the middle of the day for a rest the room is freezing and was really chilly in the morning past 9 am. It's an odd choice in the dead of winter in the UK.

We had a really good stay! This hotel has very helpful and professional staff. The location is wonderful: it’s a very short walk from both Paddington Station and Lancaster Gate. As expected, the hotel rooms here in London are very small, but have everything that you need!

This was our second time staying here in winter this year after deciding to stick to what we know. It can be a risk with budget hotels but Europa does the job.

We don’t travel to London often but we do stay in a lot of hotels and found this hotel cleaner than a lot of the branded, budget hotels that we use.

The rooms are simple with old-fashioned decor and furniture but clean with decent carpets, blackout curtains and nothing tatty-looking. The room has Roku TV with options for Netflix, YouTube, Disney+ etc., Tea & coffee making facilities, soap and shower gel, towels replaced after our first night, Big, fluffy pillows and a large, fluffy blanket (that wasn’t needed as the rooms run hot).

This isn’t a hotel for a fancy ‘wow’ experience but it does the job. The reception staff are really friendly and helpful. You can leave your luggage before check-in and after checkout for a small charge so you can spend the day exploring (email them in advance to let them know if you want to drop luggage off early before check-in).

Location-wise, Europa House Hotel is less than ten minutes’ walk from Paddington station and close to restaurants and shops. Just a 20 minute walk from Hyde Park so a nice walk to get to Winter Wonderland.

We will be staying here again for our next trip.

Room was very dirty. Floor had not been hoovered. Bed sheets had brown stains on them. Tiny bathroom with zero places to hang towels to dry. Plus the shower switch was broken and only provided 2 tiny towels for 2 people no hand towel. Quiet room though and easy check in.

I was welcomed with a lovely smile from a young man at reception. When I was checking in the guy, said that they had upgraded my room.
I got to my room , it was very clean smelt very fresh.
Nice shower with plenty of hot running water. Bed was comfortable and blankets were available.
The bathroom was very clean and decorated to good standard.

The accomodation is about 5 minute walk from paddington station, local to a few bars and cafes, parking is limited. The reception was manned , there is no lift and if on the top floor this is a troublesome time with luggage . The room was basic, noise from traffic died down around 1130pm single pane glass was cold, room measured around 7ft wide by 18ft long, electronic key card, bathroom could be a problem if a medium+ build, sink around chest height, shower small fixed not very powerfull and made the floor wet, tourist information point in reception, the toiletries consistered of soap and hair/shower gel, ample towels and spare toilet roll, no food available but plenty cafes around so not a problem

The place was ok. Clean sheets, hot showers, two things we needed. But, unless you travel with just a backpack, climbing 60 steps to the third floor with luggage and then back down was horrendous!! The room could have used a good deep cleaning-the ceiling fan looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since the day it was installed!! The shower soap holder same thing!! The bathroom towel rack was barely hanging on the way, But, put those three things aside, clean room, clean sheets, hot shower, tea/coffee. It would have been nice to have TV for “noise”, but you had to log into your own TV stuff. Centrally located to Paddington Train station a block away, great location. Restaurants & sidewalk shopping. Overall for the price it was fine for the two nights we were there and I forgot to mention that they hold your luggage when you arrive before checkin time which was extremely helpful to be able to go sightsee without lugging around your luggage. I don’t have pictures of the shower caddy or the ceiling fan, I was going to take pictures of both, but didn’t.

But clean and functional and one of the best options for a relatively inexpensive short term stay in this area.

Room ok size but washroom a bit small. Shower stall by my measurement maybe 30x30 and need to be careful not to bump the faucet controller when turning. If you are a multi-tasker you can do your business and washing at the same time.

Decent for a small budget room

As always, the caveat that I’m reviewing this in comparison with other 2-3 star hotels. For a budget hotel, and in particular a budget room, this was fine and did not disappoint. Yes the room is very small but it’s as advertised, it’s a budget room. The bed is comfortable enough. The bathroom is tiny, the shower is particularly narrow so is not the easiest for a tall person, but it’s workable for one or two nights. However, the most important factor is that the room and bathroom were clean. The window opens enough to allow a lot of air in and there’s a fan attached to the wall above the bed. The room is very quiet. Finally, a mention for the friendly, welcoming staff whom it was a pleasure to meet. Overall, a decent 4 stars.

Very helpful staff who arranged parking when I hadn't booked any and who lended us his personal phone charger.
Great location, few minutes walk to Hyde Park and Paddington Station.

I travelled by myself and this property worked well for my needs (very convenient to Paddington Station and the Heathrow Express). The price was right too. On the downside, my bathroom was extremely small and tight, but private so thankful for that. The rooms are small with lumpy beds and dated furniture/decor, but overall not bad. That said, I enjoyed it and plan on staying there again.

One cautionary note: I came-in late at night and my room was on the top floor. The staircase is very narrow and there were NO lights (almost twisted my ankle). Be careful !

Good for a budget stay. Small rooms in an old building with lots of character but could definitely do with a refurbish. Carpets and linens have seen better days. Staff are lovely. Location is excellent if you’re comfortable with the London Underground. Bit if a walk if you’re not though. They charge you for luggage storage if you need to store your bags. £5 if after 2 pm. Only major recommendation is to invest in some quiet latches for the doors. You can hear every single door slam at all hours. Would stay again for price.

Our room was being renovated so there were issues there. The door to the room was very loose & banged through the night , it was finally fixed a few days later. Lack of linen- hand towels & nothing to wash or dry the coffee cups.

We did extend our stay from the originally booked one night, staff were helpful with this.

Overall the hotel was badly in need of renovations & brightening but a very good location would I stay there again? Probably not

On the + side this hotel is close to Paddington station, the room, bedding and bathroom were clean and there was a good selection of tea and coffee and staff were nice and on the - side hotel is dated and needs a refresh some of the furniture was dated, marked or in poor condition….. the mattress was not very comfortable but I did sleep okay and the room has a plug in fan that helped

Really basic. Wouldn’t have paid more than I did.

Can’t complain much considering the price for when I stayed but here are some negatives which weren’t good:
- Tiny bathroom and hardly any legroom with the toilet so close to the sink
- Tap’s running water was very hit and miss, sometimes ok sometimes barely trickling
- Shower water was terrible. Not powerful and barely warm let alone hot - only a split second of being far too hot when turned up again but then goes back to warm
- The two bottles of liquids provided in the bathroom were not labelled so had no idea what they were or their ingredients. This is surely against the law as could have been anything so I didn’t use them (see picture)
- Cup and spoon provided looked like they hadn’t been washed properly in years (see picture)
- The stairs to get up are very steep and creaky
- The rooms aren’t very soundproof - could hear peoples conversations in other rooms and even snoring!

Really helpful staff at reception. You will be paying a premium for the location, conveniently located within steps of paddington station in central London. Beds are comfortable but the shower and bathroom are very cramped. condition of the furniture, closet, and the room overall is rather poor and dated. Not a bad choice if all you are only looking for a place to sleep and shower after exploring London.

Upon arrival, was told my reservation was not at this hotel, but a 'sister hotel' two doors down. There was no notification of this before my arrival.
Room was in need of some refurbishment. Damp patches coming through ceiling, unclean curtains, creaking beds etc.

Tiny, cramped and dirty, but for the cheap price so close to Paddington Station, I can deal with it. What was NOT OKAY was the fact that the desk clerk thought it was acceptable to put us in a room on the top floor with 7 flights of twisty stairs when my mom USES A CANE!!! He could clearly see she has some mobility issues and not only assigned us this room with all the stairs and no elevator, but didn’t even bother to offer to help with the luggage. My mom severely injured her bad hip and knee even worse going up and down that many stairs and it negatively impacted our entire trip.

So don’t expect them to care if you ask to switch rooms, or care if you’re disabled. And don’t expect a clean room or fresh towel.

I seeked out the cheapest stay in paddington for four nights. I had what can be described as a box room. However, it was clean with a comfortable bed and heater. Also came with its own small shower and sink. The staff were nice and friendly. If your on a budget and just looking for a place to sleep i would highly recommend.

Stayed one night, two twin bed rooms. Would definitely stay again. Couple of minor issues, toilet flush not working in one room, but was fixed straight away. Toilet roll holder not fixed to the wall properly in the other room. Bathroom quite small, & shower might be an issue for tall or a larger size person, but it was ok for us. If your looking for an inexpensive stay in London, a couple of minutes from Paddington & Hyde park this hotel definitely fits the bill. We will definitely stay here again

The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean.
Both beds were poor with holes in the middle that you sink into and bare down to the springs.
The shower didn't work in one of the rooms, but the team member was very helpful in helping to sort that out. The other shower was very difficult to get to a decent temperature. Some guidance on how to work the showers would be helpful.
The bathroom drains were very smelly and unpleasant.
One of the rooms was very cold with no access to the radiator. Spare blankets were provided.

The room, advertised on Hotels.com as an \"Economy Single Room,\" was described in the hotel's system as \"extra small size room.\" Hotels.com provided no information about the room's size, which was barely large enough for a mouse. When we complained that the room was not as advertised—arguing that \"economy\" does not equate to \"extra small,\" and that even if it did, this information should have been clearly stated on the Hotels.com website—the hotel staff were unhelpful. They refused a refund, an upgrade, or even to acknowledge our complaint. Consequently, thanks to Hotels.com's intervention due to the apparent miscommunication between the hotel and their system, we left the hotel after only one night. Hotels.com agreed to provide credits to book another hotel. Fortunately, there are many other budget hotels in the Paddington area with better accommodations and larger rooms.

Terrible stay at this hotel. Central heating doesn't work inside the room so the room was freezing.
Shower works only with very water so cold water doesn't which means you can burn yourself under the shower.

The location is great for the price, but thats about all that is great. The room was dated, the tv small but by far the biggest issue was how tiny the bathroom was. It was like being in a wardrobe. Could barely close the door, cpuld barely turn around on the spot. Literally couldnt sit on the toilet without your leg banging on the pipe under the sink, and the sink you could only just fit a mug into it to get water. House keeping were helfpul and pleasant, the reception staff some were nice and pleasant and helpful, others looked at us as if we were trespassing when we entered the building even though we needed the room key to open the main entrance door.

Single rooms are hot and miss, depending on the floor. The ensuites are rather small.

Double and family rooms are great value, spacious, warm, clean with comfortable beds.

The area was great and so close to Paddington station. The staff were great and the room was alright. Comfy beds and a clean room. Down sides would be the shower as it was so small you would either turn off the shower or push it to the extremes of hot or cold. Water pressure wasn’t great either. A hotel which let you go back to the 80’s immediately. Vintage style is no big deal for most of us, but super dirty and not clean at all. My worst stay in years of global traveling. No lighting in the stairway, good luck to you when you are carrying luggage and not fall down since you can’t see anything. The only heat source is a portable electric heater which I have to ask for it. There are many other options on the same street or within the same area. Do yourself a favor, search online, spend a few dollars mire per night, you will get so much better than here. This is like one cheap hostel quality with private bathroom, if that’s what you are looking for.
