The place looks exactly like the photos and is in a great location, just a few minutes’ walk from Paddington Station. However, some sections of the apartment were not properly cleaned, so I had to spend time cleaning up before settling in. The building did offer to send someone to clean, but since I arrived late, it could only be arranged the next morning, which was no longer useful. Additionally, my unit was located in the basement with no elevator access, meaning I had to carry my bags down a long flight of stairs. It would be helpful if the listing clearly mentioned that this is a lower ground apartment so future guests know what to expect.

Convenient location. Only 3 mins walk from London Paddington station. Was pleasantly surprised to discover coin-operated laundry services was available at a relatively low cost. Only slight negative was the walls were a little thin & I could hear housekeeping when they are cleaning other rooms

We had apartment 4 which is right at the front and first apartment you come to. You can hear when everyone is coming and going, the main door is very loud. The tv in the room barely worked and the water heater on the wall in the bathroom burned my upper arm abit twice while I was getting ready.
However, it’s in a wonderful location, only one train to airport and train station is right around the corner.. so close. We walked through Hyde Park to Harrods from the apartment. It was a beautiful walk.
Be careful at the near by restaurants, someone pretending to sell flowers stole my phone. Which cost me a lot of money. Never leave your phone out for even 2 seconds.

Cute little units with all the amenities I was looking for: 2-burner cooker, fridge, kettle ... We were on the ground floor for both our stays. The first looked onto the street, which was lovely. The other had two windows, both into a 6x6-foot \"courtyard\" bounded on all sides by other units. I did wonder what I would do if there were a fire that made the door unusable. Also, it's a very quiet area but all the doors in the building seem to slam shut, so when people arrived or left in the middle of the night, we definitely knew. I'd still highly recommend it and would stay there again.

First, the best things about this property:
1) Location
2) Elevator
3) Coffee and tea supplies
4) Shampoo and soaps provided.

Second, the bad things about this property:
1) There’s no front desk, so there’s nowhere to leave luggage while you explore
2) The beds are old. The double bed crunched like an old beanbag chair and one aide dipped terribly. The single was lumpy. The fold down couch creaked.
3) We asked for a travel crib three times and it wasn’t included.
4) When traveling with small children, beware, the cutlery is in a bottom and easily accessible drawer.
5) You can hear everything the neighbours above and below you are doing.
6) If you’re a small person, the shower is okay. If you’re on the larger side, you’ll barely be able to turn around.
7) There is a glass table with terribly sharp edges, not kid friendly.
8) There were piles of bedding on the landings between floors on the landings and outside the rooms.

All in all, if you are looking for somewhere close to Paddington for a short term stay, it’ll do.

Annoying wifi and dodgy laundry

Wifi was awful. Speeds were ok, but it would often disconnect for 5-10 seconds. Fine for browsing and emails, but taking a call or virtual meeting was very irritating.

Booked because it had laundry facilities, but no washing powder was provided and the dryer has a big red sticker which says \"DO NOT USE! THIS APPLIANCE IS UNSAFE\".

Room itself was fine. Decent size and clean, but a bit tired and in need of a refresh.

The room was really nice and comfortable. Lots of soaps, towels, water,tea and coffee. Really enjoyed our stay. Had a bit of an issue entering the property as the link in the emai hadn't worked but had a prompt response and visit from the owners to ensure we got in soon after. Some of the immediate street areas were a little dirty but generally a nice, convenient area and would definitely visit again and recommend.

I booked the paddington hotel but ended up in Hyde park. We were on the ground floor which is on floor below the street level. There is no lift for below street level. The place is clean and convenient and service staff were friendly and helpful when around.

to most of the others i’ve stayed at for the same value is spacous with 2 double beds and a excellent barroom with great shower pressure.Check in

Paddington apartments upgraded us to a family room instead of a studio apartment, which was nice. The only thing is that the family room is located in the basement, not a big problem in itself as there is a window to outside that can be opened for fresh London air, but the steep staircase going down was a challenge. I’m 70 and had to carry our heavy suitcases down. Reception was so kind as to help us to carry them back up when we checked out. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Salisbury supermarket is only 15 minutes walk away. Hyde park is very close.

We found the unit with no problem from the station. The building has an elevator which we needed. Easy to get in with emailed code when the unit is ready. Nice size for three people. Convenient to slot of restaurant/bars, shops and transportation. Note: if you want a wash rag they are not supplied.
Very happy we will stay again.

As most reviews have stated the apartments are in a good location and decent enough but in desperate need of a refresh /update. Our bathroom /air con leaked and furniture was chipped /scuffed. Had a total of 3 hangers for 2 people for a 5 day stay. Not soundproof at all, we complained about noise after 3 days. However, close to station and plenty of places to eat/drink in walking distance as well as in room stove/microwave to cook yourselves. Staff were friendly and respectful everytime we saw them.

Great Apartment and Location in London

Had stayed at Paddington Apartments on a previous visit to London and there has been one major improvement (to an already good venue) since then. The electronic check-in/key eliminates the need to trek over to their main office to check in and get a key, saving a lot of time. We had a minor issue with the smoke alarm in our room beeping due to a dying battery. We contacted the office and by the time we got back to the room that evening, it had been repaired, which was much appreciated.

The room was small, but had the essentials - three beds, efficiency kitchen and complimentary bottles of water. Great location near Paddington Station and plenty of pubs within walking distance, as well as a short walk to Hyde Park. I'd stay here again.

The check-in process is a pain. You have to go to a different hotel (about an 8 euro taxi ride each way).

But, the room was very comfortable and spacious. Used the laundry machines and they worked fine but took forever (bring about 6 pounds per load based on our experience).

Good neighborhood. Walked to the Thai restaurant nearby and it was quite good.

Had a fridge, hot water kettle, 3 super hard beds. But it was one poorly laid out room that felt claustrophobic, it was turn of the century basic. Worlds smallest shower.And not sure if they were kids wrestling being crazy loud and noisy or if it was something else…. It made us get out and see the city since it was sad to be there. It met our needs and that was it. We were happy to check out.

Amazing little find. Locating the property to collect the keys is a little awkward as the property address is located on a square which just seems to go on and one but once located a short walk to the apartment. The area was lovely and had lots of little convenience shops, mcdonalds (for our morning cup of coffee) and pubs and restaurants.

The property it self was great for just putting our heads down and getting some sleep. The bed was really comfy but the shower was a little small for my 6ft 1 husband but he managed :)

Pretty disappointing place, while it was quiet from the traffic it wasn't so quiet from the other people. The shower room was way too small, repeatedly knocking my knee into the sink whilst using the toilet, which was pretty grubby. The sink and shower itself didnt drain properly and barely got anything more than luke warm water.

The mattress for the double bed needed to be thrown years ago, no support at all and lumpy as anything.

Amongst other things, the spare duvet was stained and had a burn hole in it, the blind covering the window didn't work, air con barely worked, extractor fan for bathroom didn't work and there were water stains above the door.

In all, we were pretty disappointed as the pictures of the other rooms looked much more spacious compared to the one we had in the basement. There is no way the room we had was for 4 people. The design was terrible.

GOOD:
* Very clean sheets and towels
* Good cleaning
* Good hot water
* Good appliances: microwave over, toaster, hob (no oven,) TV (no cable), small fridge/freezer
* Quiet room (first floor, back of building)
* High ceilings
* Walking distance from park, tube/buses/train, etc.
* Management was professional and receptive upon reservation and accommodated our requests

BAD:
* Somewhat shady area (probably due to closeness of station)
* Insufficient kitchen utilities (no broom, no kitchen towels, no washing-up detergent.)
* Tiny freezer full of frost/ice
* Coin washing machine and dryer were defective (there was no warning of this)
* Metallic towel drying rack installed in bathroom can cause considerable burns
* No reasonable way to hold window or curtains open
* Cleaning person never seems to have days off
* No reception area or staff
* Only one room key provided (we did not request a second one; buzzer downstairs was out of order)
* Bathroom sink clogs often

Tired and in need of maintenance!

Honestly, a little disappointing. General condition of the property can be described as tired, broken floor tiles, loose door handles, balcony in disrepair and very dirty.

Beds not comfortable at all, small TV on the wall, musty smell in the hallway. The bathroom door opens awkwardly into the radiator.

By far the most disappointing aspect was the cleanliness, I noticed a thick layer of dust on the black kitchen worktops.

Area of the apartment is just ok, there are student dorms in the same square, lots of litter and rubbish bags outside, as well as its general vicinity to Edgware road and Paddington.

I was fortunate in that I used a rewards night to bring the cost down, but I'd have been upset at paying full price.

Horrible customer service treatment from guy at 8 cavern rd where I had to walk to 'to show my bank card', to get the card key to the aptmnt., which you do not suppose to do!And I told him that! I liked the location. The remote check-in site is not ideal. But I knew that going in, so that does not deserve a negative review. The first floor front facing room at street level was not acceptable, though. I was unable to open my curtains throughout my stay. Upon my arrival in the room, when I saw the situation, I immediately called reception to request to be moved to another room. This was at 2pm, the beginning of checkin time, so there were other rooms available. I was told on the phone by the person who had just sent me over to the room that there was nothing she could do... that I was stuck with this room with a window that opened on the sidewalk for all pedestrians on the public, busy street to look in.

Location was good. Although it should be noted that it was a 10 minute brisk walk to check in and then another 10 minute brisk walk back to the actual apartment.

Clean and very spacious studio which was surprisingly quiet given it was right next to the lift. Mounted flat screen TV was way too small for the size room as was the shower. Studio is ideally located for easy access to Paddington Station just 5 minutes walk away. We stayed over a weekend and it was a pity about the garbage stacked up at the front of the building.

I picked this property because it was located very near Paddington Station and I was coming to London from overseas. When I turned up there was just a locked door - no reception area. I managed to track down a number to call and was told that check in was 9 minutes walk away. I was also told that I had been sent an email with those instructions. That email never arrived. I spent an hour getting to and from the the check in location before I made it to my room.

The shower was virtually inoperable as well.

I was moved to a different equivalent apartment, 1km away from where I booked my stay. There was no cleaning in the apartment for the entire week, and no cleaning supplies (brooms or anything) in the apartment. Apart from that, the apartment was adequate.

To start with the hottest topic: check-in to different location. I was informed and aware of it, but especially arriving on cold December evening is not the best first thing to do in London. They said in the email that taxi ride back to apartment is free...I didn't ask, but they didn't repeat the offer after checking in. My problem is that the receptionist, a young Indian guy, preferred to keep me waiting for 3-4 minutes until he finished his FaceTime conversation with a friend, while my family was waiting out in the cold in front of the apartment building. The room itself (Superior Studio on 3rd floor) was bigger than London average, pretty nice and well equipped (some wine glasses would be nice to add). Also very clean and nice view. It's pretty noisy, from outside and the other rooms, shower head is not working well. Curios was that cleaning lady only came on the evening of our second night (out of three), when changed also the sheets...much appreciated, but a bit too late. And finally, same receptionist wanted to charge us 10 pounds for an extra hour before checking out (11 to 12, by the way, check out time is 11), which left the final mark on this review. All in all, nice place, terrible service.

Initially put in a basement room and very disappointed, no lift, dark and looked into a dirty butt filed yard.
Mara, one of the staff was excellent and had us moved onto the third floor. Mara went with us to check out the new room.
The new room was similar to the first but had a good view and was light with easy access by lift.
Location is excellent.

Lack of on-site checkin and support is unfortunate

Very thankful that they emailed a few days before to indicate that the check-in happened at a different place than the place we were staying. We had not noticed this information in the fine print of the confirmation. It added an extra step after an international trip and we would not choose this spot again simply because of this. In fact, as we left two people were standing on the front step trying to get in -- they did not know they had to go elsewhere to check-in. The noise from a number of suites on the Saturday night of our stay was not insignificant (I actually went out and asked one group to lower their voices) -- another situation where on-site help would have been very appreciated. The space itself was fine but no storage for unpacking of suitcases so best for a short stay. TV cut in and out lots. Otherwise all in good condition and comfortable for a small space.

I chose the apartment for the location near the train station, although you have to check in at another location further away which isnt ideal. The room was spacious, only two negatives are that there isnt a plug in the bathroom for plugging in hair curlers or straighteners - and there isnt another mirror in the room to use, so I struggled to curl my hair whilst squinting across the room to the bathroom mirror. Also the floors in all the apartments are wooden, I presume this is so because when my neighbour came home at midnight the noise was very loud - I would recommend carpet in such a small concentration of rooms.

Get a hotel with a real reception.

I stayed 5 nights at this hotel but I won't recommend it at all. Why?
1. The toilet was not working at all. I told the staff 3 times but they did nothing about it.
2. In 5 days they only cleaned the room one time. I was told at the reception when I checked in that we will get towels everyday and have full service done every other day. Didn't happen!
3 Phones in a room didn't work.
Get a hotel with a real reception.

We picked this hotel for location which was good and really near to Paddington Station. It was an apartment for 4 people but really it wasn't suitable for 4 as there were no facilities for 4 people to sit eat in it (we were in Room 3). The bathroom was tiny and over crowded with a sink that obstructed use of the toilet. The bathroom was also poorly maintained with the shower door coming apart (dangerous for the 2 children with us) and the fittings were almost all falling off the walls. Check in is at a different location which is a fairly long walk from the apartments especially with suitcases. I would not recommend this accommodation.

Fair Stay Prior to Train Trip

A one-night stay prior to taking a train from Paddington Station to Cornwall. The apartment was OK, not anything overly special. There was a nice kitchenette if you were staying a few days and wanted to prepare light meals. We were surprised to learn that check-in is at a central location, about a 15-20 walk from Paddington Station which was a lot when you are lugging around baggage. However, they provided a complimentary ride to the apartment once check-in was completed. The neighborhood was great for dining with many possibilities within a short walking distance and access to the trains and busses was easy. However, if staying in the same area again, I would probably choose a different property.

Fairly good effort

I got a text to say I had to check in a mile away. But it was a smooth process with a free lift. I got an upgrade so £61 was good value. Clean room but electrics need looking at (room1), the heater tripped off the fuse. Warm enough anyway.

On the plus side, the apartment was very newly renovated and clean in a quiet square very centrally located close to Paddington and the west end. However a big downside and surprise was that reception for checkin was 20 mins walk from the apartment which is very inconvenient

Very bad experience

- When we first arrived and headed to the location, we found a note that we need to check with the reception which is located in a totally different location than the room (the address was written on the note). Such thing should be noted on the web site while making the reservation, not to be surprised when you arrive
- After reaching the reception (carrying our luggage), the room specified in our confirmation was not ready and the guy at the reception offered to put us on a temporary room (in the basement) for one day until he locate a different room next day. Since we were tired and busy, we did not accept the offer and insisted to have a permanent one.
- After a long discussion (the computer system was down at the reception and the guy was reviewing the document manually) finally they offered us a room on the ground floor on a different building, away from the building where we had our confirmed room
- When we reached the building (around 3pm, after two hours) and got into the room: The room was Okay, room facilities were Okay but the air-conditioning was not working.
- There was a lot of noise when other guests pass by the room
- Nor room service during our length of stay (four days), no room cleaning and towels were not changed

Over all experience was very bad

Think twice

Chose this hotel for proximity to Paddington station. Check in desk in another building 3-4 blocks further away. Smoke alarm needed to be fixed on arrival. Tv didnt work. Wifi unreliable. Hotel flooded @ 2am causing evacuation of premises. Curtains wafer thin which sucked as street light was 2 m from window. Apart from that, reasonably comfortable but apartment much smaller than photos suggest.

Frequent traveler, felt more like home than hotel

A bit inconvenient to get the key at another location, but taxi quick to transport to room location. At first I had room 15, which was small, had two beds (rather than 1 as advertised) and windows half blocked with roof wall. I called and they were very accomodating to move me to another room. It was #11: beautiful, newly renovated, large wall windows, and although still with two beds, room big enough to still feel spacious. Kithenette was fine. Location is quiet and very convenient.

Avoid - for now

The apartment is fine - although there are alteration works going on in the public spaces so its a bit dusty in those. But the check in process is horrendous.
I was left standing outside a locked building phoning hotels.com.
Ended up having to take a cab on a five to ten minute run to another building to pick up keys, and a cab back again.
Not good.
Until you can check in onsite, I would avoid - there is little point booking an Aparthotel near paddington station if you have to schlep across town to get the keys.

Paddington Apartment Dilemma

The building was under renovation. It didn't seem that someone is checking our room to make sure the water supply & heater were working before we checked in. Receptionist were very friendly & the staff was very efficient to fix the problems. The shower head was oversized for the showering space. You'll get yourself wet to adjust the water temperature before you really took your shower.

You have to walk 3/4 miles to get KEY to check in to hotel

We arrived by cab from Heathrow . Building had no signage we could not get in building. A hotel tenant came out said we would have to walk to a different address about 1/2-3/4 miles away to register. If it wasn't for him we would never have found the other location to check in. Hotel staff said they send out e mail text. All our e mail services and phones were disconnected when we left the U.S.
Needless to say we spent 4 hours trying to get checked in. room was adequate, no service. We went 4 doors down to Mitre House Hotel 178 Sissex Garden, to get them to help us with a cab to Vicyoria station. They were helpful and said Paddington Apartment guests PANIC all the time when trying to find out how to check in.
This was very disappointing . We had friends coming in 5 hours later from airport to stay at Paddington Apts , we taped a sign on the door for them to ring our room. We then walked with them over to check in site.
Hotels.com should drop Paddington Arms apts. From your hotel choices, because it gives you a nasty reputation.there is not ever a phone connection, or note saying you have to check in elsewhere to pick up key!

Great Location and nothing else

Stayed here for a business trip. Great location; walking distance from Paddington station that allowed quick access to any part of the city. There are grocery and drugstores nearby and the neighborhood was nice too.

The room is essentially a small bachelor suite. It is very small; good for one person or maybe a couple, but certainly not suitable for a family with children or a group of 3. Full kitchen, small fridge and TV are available. Not luxurious in any way. But you know it if you read the reviews before going.

There is essentially no room service or cleaning. They promised changing the towels every two days, but over almost a week only showed up once, so bring your own towels.

Also note that the room key pick up location is different from the apartment location. But they provide a drop off service, so no complaint.

Paddington apartments

We stopped here last weekend for proms in the park for 1 night. We did have to go to an alternative address to get the keys but this was stated on the hotel confirmation so wasn't a bother to us. When we arrived we was on the 5th floor. There was a lift was a bit shoddy and couldn't fit much in there but still it worked ok.

Entered the room and was pleasantly surprised. Was quite nice. We didn't use the kitchen facilities but it all seemed to be ok. We just used the room to sleep and the bed was pretty comfy too.

The downside was the room was ridiculously hot there is no air con but we had been left a fan. In the morning the shower ran out of water so there was only enough for one of us to wash.

But all in all it was fine and I would stop there again.

A poorly serviced apartment. Rundown, overrated and misrepresented. Lacking in facilities, when I asked for a t towel I was told they had no such thing. Towels thread bear Shower mouldy, floor tiles cracked and pillows as hard as bricks. Not happy at all. The 4 stars awarded to this apartment is a joke

Not up to expectation

Paddington Apartments could be better. Probably fine for backpackers but not good for the more mature traveler. The bed was not at all comfortable and whilst we had booked and paid for four nights, we moved to another hotel nearby after the first night. Unfortunate tone paying for two, but the bed standard was so superior at the hotel in the same street. Paddington Gardens was definitely one of our poorer choices whilst travelling for six weeks in UK and Ireland.

Great location but no thanks

Day before arrival, we get an email telling us where to pick up the key at another location miles away..... why was this not revealed before we booked? We would have not chosen this property. It cost us a taxi ride with all our baggage. No daily linen changes or housekeeping. No air conditioning. We could not open the window. One morning no hot water for showering, broiler broken. So... No Thanks. The location was great but there were other choices. Too costly for what we got.

Something outta a movie!

Water sporadically, during our showers every morning the water would go off and you had to wait for it to come back on! toilets don't flush properly and elevators were scary! Moved from basement with broken window to third floor that was no better. Pictures look nice but not maintained! Was not told check in was across town. We left early. This ruined the last three days if our trip. They \"to make up for the inconvenience of changing rooms, didn't charge us for the night that we didn't stay because we were fed up with the place. The manager tried to say that when maintenance went in everything worked fine! Let him go stand under a shower with shampoo on your head and wait for it to come back on! No recommendation at all! The manager said we should have given them an opportunity to fix things--we called the front desk and because there was no answer left a message but got no call back, so we left the next day after three horrible nights....they should have refunded all if iur money...disappointed that Expedia also was no help when we called and reported unsafe conditions.

Nice, Clean Room but the lift was out of service..

We stayed two nights while on a layover in London and loved the short walk to Paddington Station. From there it's a short distance to most major attractions. There wasn't even an issue with checking in at a different location, the only downfall to this place is that the lift is out of service... hauling our luggage up four floors was not ideal.

Great location near Paddington Underground but overpriced as not an apartment sized but actually hotel room size with kitchenette included. 2 double beds (to sleep 4) left a 5 foot square living area.
Thick metal curtain rail had 2 of 3 anchoring screws coming out of wall (dangerous with kids) and not repaired desite me ringing the first day and us being there a week.
5th floor and lift not working
Had to call to get drains unblocked within first full day.
Internet security certificate out of date so couldnt safely use advertised free wifi.
Asked by friendly staff to leave note with maintenance issues for staff to collect- Came to fix drain but ignored note.
Left letter on check out with no reply after 2 weeks hence sad to have to write terrible review.

Pretty awful

We were not aware when booking that the reception and the apartment were a difficult 1/2 hour walk apart. The reception staff were nice and very helpful but the apartment was awful. We were on the top floor (no lift operating), as we are retired, walking up 7 flights of narrow stairs with luggage was a serious problem. The shower worked intermittently and did not drain properly. There was no plug in the wash basin. No tea towels and the \"fully equipped\" was a joke, there were 2 tea spoons, 2 spoons, 2 dishes and one pan!! The bed was very uncomfortable, there were no easy chairs, just 2 hard dining chairs. The view from the windows was a concrete wall. On the Saturday night the animals in the apartment next door were running up and down the stairs, slamming doors, shouting loudly in the corridor and using foul language until the early hours of Sunday morning.
This property should not be listed by your organisation.

Broken lift, poor service

The hotel location and rooms were fine, except for the broken lift. We had to move to a lower unit since it was never fixed the entire time we were there. ith elderly parents, this became a big issue.

Basic Accomodation

Check-in location is not the hotel address - unfortunately hotels.com did not tell me this in the booking confirmation - which didn't help as I had to stand in the rain and call their help-desk. Eventually another guest told me the location on the check-in location (25 minutes walk) from the hotel. Basic accomodation - lock on main door was broken, so not particularly secure. Clean.
