Three of us (friends on a girls' trip) stayed here and LOVED it! The hotel is a little tricky to find because the sign isn't very big, but the instructions on the website helped. It's small and so very charming. The flat was squeaky clean, with a roomy shower, comfy beds, and a kitchenette. It was a very short walk from Paddington Station, and close to lots of shops and restaurants. I saw some other reviews complaining about the lack of air conditioning. I can only assume they were from my fellow Americans (we do love our AC), but we were there in July and you just don't need AC in the UK. All the windows could be opened which provides a lovely breeze if you want it, and all the rooms had oscillating fans if you need even more air flow than that. We certainly didn't. It's an older building with lots of charm, which my group loved. All the rooms had crown molding, and the rooms were decorated nicely. And each room had plenty of storage space to unpack and stow the suitcases. I would highly recommend this lovely place to anyone, and I would definitely stay there again. Thanks for a lovely stay!

The property offered a great location and two bedrooms along with a tv area. We had to prop doors open throughout the apartment and the keys needed to be inserted in a device to trigger the electricity. This made drying clothing a challenge when we were gone. The WiFi was spotty in the building, which made work a bit of a challenge. The kitchen was not as stocked as we needed for our food preparation, but it was easy enough to work around that.

Location was good. Hotel is dated and in need of care and maintenance. Bedroom ceiling was grotty, but room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Kitchen was fine and shower was adequate. Could just do with sprucing up. Reception were very helpful and friendly. I don't think I will be back as it was quite expensive considering the quality of the hotel.

The hotel was not difficult to find. The location is good. The attention from the people in charge is very adequate and friendly. But we found the apartment, in our opinion, could benefit from some improvements such as new beds and mattresses and it is fair to say that the level cleanliness was good

Well equipped apartment, close to Paddington.

The booking and check-in communication from Aspen was prompt and efficient. I could not find the property at first, as it is set back behind railings and trees, which have to be walked around to a gate on the far side. The map identified the property as the Sussex Fish Bar, which is close by!

Reception was efficient and I was shown which keys to use and where my room was located. This was in the basement and contained an enclosed kitchen, shower room and bedroom/lounge with sofa, table and chairs, storage cupboard, but no wardrobe. Tea bags, coffee, sugar and milk was provided in the kitchen, along with cooking utensils.

The only blemish for me was that I could not activate the automatic soap dispenser in the shower, so I recommend that guests have their own toiletries to hand. I reported this on departure to the friendly receptionist.

The property is a short walk from Paddington Station and is close to Hyde Park and Bayswater Road.

After departure, I discovered that I had left my phone charger in the room. I emailed the property to inform them and received a prompt reply to say that it had been found and would be available for me to collect at my convenience.

Beware.

I’d usually have said reasonably priced Spartan accomadations in a super convenient location IF NOT FOR SEVERAL MAJOR DEFICIENCIES.
Suite is not at all as pictured. There is no place to sit or eat except for the bed. No TV was fine for us, but be aware.
The first night the kitchenette flooded.
The next day the staff left our window directly to the street open and anyone could have come in and taken our belongings.
The third day I requested that the empty shampoo container in the shower be refilled at 8 AM and even wrote a postit on the dispenser. When we returned at 9 PM it was still empty and we were told it was too late to get any for us.
Finally the Wifi was miserable.
I just can’t recommend this accommodation.

Ok for Paddington location

If you’re looking for a location near Paddington and Heathrow Express, then this is ok. Otherwise there are better places. The apartment is a warren of little rooms separated by closed doors. The room is noisy and down a narrow flight of stairs (no elevator). The bathroom is small but with a very nice shower. Finally, don’t bother with the breakfast because there are excellent cafes around the corner with full English and buffet for the same price or less. . I recommend London Brasserie. So, good for convenience but little else.

Location is superb. Kitchenette attached is amazing. The only comment I have are the beds. It is still using the old spring mattresses. If you are sharing the bed, you will bounce when the other person moves. And \"Aspen Apartments\" signage is not shown. Please walk into the Hotel called Abbeycourt Westpoint and register at the reception.

The apartment was relatively clean, the rug was slightly dirty with stains. The blankets for the beds were quite thin and the sofa bed was not really comfortable. The TV was not working properly. Apart from that, it was good value for money considering its position in London. There were plenty of bars/coffee shops in the area.
Some of the reception staff were clueless. Their level of professionalism is highly questionable. We received more care and attention from the painter who was painting the stair case!
If you are looking for a cheap and cheerful place situated by the city centre, just for one night (one night only!) then the place is good enough.

The accommodation is part of a larger establishment and only by reading the street number and asking within were we certain we had the correct property. However from thereon we had no problems. Straight forward check in and a pleasant surprise when we opened the room.

For the price and location Aspen Apartments were great. Our rooms ended up having 2 bedrooms with an additional living/bedroom, and small kitchen. The staff was friendly and check in and out was very easy. The hotel allowed us to store our bags on the last day and come back for them in the afternoon before heading to the airport. The hotel is located 1 block from Paddington metro which was nice. The only down sides, no A/C or fans in the rooms, and the beds were a little stiff. I would definitely stay at Aspen Apartments again.

Value for money

Spacious,convenient and close to Paddington, this apartment was a great buy. Yes, it's dated. Yes, there were a few wonky challenges (like a wobbly TV brace and no temp control on a warm night) but, overall, well worth it for the money spent. Super clean.

Great location, easy walk from Paddington Station. NO SIGNAGE on hotel for Aspen Apartments. Tired, but adequate basic BR, living area. Service horrible, free internet continually disconnected. Luggage storage unsupervised and luggage room so small our bags could not fit, staff could not be bothered with any help. Kitchen and bathrooms had odor.

I liked it.

Clean, accessible, easy walk, nice front desk staff.
Pull out bed and a separate double bed in our room. Slept 4 easily. Pull out is not too comfy. Kitchen smells odd, like mold. Breakfast is basic for a high cost.

The staff was very helpful both with check-in and check-out. We arrived very late at night and the front desk was very helpful in directing our driver to the hotel. The phone number Hotels.com has online is incorrect and I had to search for a new number. The kitchen was very up to date but the furniture in the rooms was a bit dated. The apartment though was clean. The heating did not come on until the early morning so it was very cold when we arrived. It was very close to Paddington station and the Heathrow Express making the location perfect.

Nice hotel conveniently located

Very friendly and helpful staff. I liked everything about this hotel except that the bed in our room was in a loft and no air circulated up there. I asked for and received a fan and that helped. Our room overlooked a very quiet street, interesting since we were only 2 blocks from the Paddington Train station, but traffic definitely decreased significantly in the evening. Food stores and restaurants were close by.

Nice hotel very conveniently located.

Check in was very easy. Requested an early check in and they allowed it. The linen and bed was very comfortable. The kitchen could have used a few more pieces of cutlery but overall it worked. We didn't have dish soap to wash the dishes but to our surprise, housekeeping cleaned the dishes when they came. The area is one of the best. 3 minute was from the tube station. Amazing pubs within a minute walk from the apartment.

Clean and well-equipped studio apartment

Great little studio apartment that was just what I needed. The well-equipped kitchen was perfect to prepare supper (and saved the cost of eating out). Shame there was no washing up liquid or dishcloth/tea towel, but the liquid soap provided in the bathroom and a bit of elbow grease did the job! Just round the corner from Paddington, which was ideal for me.

Mixed review...best described as \"ok\"

We booked a 2 bedroom apartment in late 2015 whilst planning our 6 week trip to the UK. To our surprise we discovered we had been downgraded to a triple room as the hotel was \"fully booked.\" I could somewhat understand the lack of accommodation if we had booked last minute, but we had booked over 7 months ago!!!! The room comprised of a double room and small single bedroom but they had 'kindly' set us up an extremely uncomfortable sofa bed in the lounge as some sort of compensation to accomodate the extra person. (After 1 night on the sofa bed I wouldn't recommend this as a bedding option to anyone!) What frustrated us the most was there was no prior warning of this change, and we weren't even told at check in - it took us to question the room lay out to be told about the downgrade. Reception were somewhat helpful and offered some discount and free breakfast before they eventually found us a 2 bedroom apartment for our last 2 nights.

Other than the negative start, our stay was fine and good value compared to other hotels. It's conveniently located close to Paddington Station and in a nice area so it's easy to get around. It's also in good walking distance to some sights and good restaurants. The apartment itself was quite small but as we only slept there it didn't phase us too much. The apartments don't have air conditioning and as it was summer when we visited they got quite stuffy but fans were provided. Room was cleaned daily, although rooms could do with some modernising

Our family stayed two nights in a two bedroom. All the rooms had doors making it diffuculy with children and family. The room was old, outdated and somewhat dirty in need of painting. When I spoke with the front desk regarding my dissatisfaction I was told there were no other accommodating rooms available and to move to the 'hotel' would be very expensive! Of course she did not seem to want to tell me the cost!! The breakfast was not worth the money paid.

rooms are very small, our room was for three people yet only two could be in there. up keep of the hotel could be better. one silver fish... buckling of floors, no sheets for the cot, they put us in the basement suite. internet connection had to be paid for by the day and was not very good.

DON'T stay here during the WINTER

Overall the rooms were clean and the staff friendly and attentive. The location is EXCELLENT and a very quick walk to the tube or bus stop, and there are lots of good restaurants within walking distance.

The problem is they turn the heat OFF at night, and the thin poorly sealed windows let cold air pour in. We used the oven and hairdryer to keep warm. I'm sure other people in the building are using the oven and stove to keep some heat in the rooms, so that is a fire hazard that concerned us.

Great location, good apartments for the price!.

The décor was out of date but clean enough and the shower was poor but it was good value for money. The location was only 2 minutes walk from Paddington Underground so perfect for tourists. Unfortunately we couldn't find the place and drove round for ages before realizing that the sign on the front doesn't say Aspen Apartments. Not great for guests trying to find it!! And there was an info leaflet in the room telling us that continental breakfast was complimentary but when we went down for it, we were told the info was wrong and we'd have to pay £9 each for a buffet breakfast. No apologies, just slightly snotty staff treating us like we were trying to get something for nothing. Thought the parking was a bit steep at £25 per day.

Convenient the to everything

Very close to tube and overland rail, good restaurants and shops available close by. Hotel staff were friendly, rooms very tired but clean. We only had one issue which was that the dishwasher was broken when we arrived and fully of foul water. Nobody seemed to know when it would be fixed or what was happening with it! They did remove the water but the smell lingered the entire 10 day stay and the dishwasher did not get replaced or fixed. We did eventually get a £50 credit which was better than nothing!

We had 2 bedrooms and a living room in a so-called suite but all rooms were tiny and there's no way to keep doors to rooms open, so you almost feel locked in a small cell. The bathroom has no shelf of anything to leave you stuff which is really weird. Where are you supposed to leave your toiletries? Despite paying 230 pounds a night we got no internet connection. For that the hotel asked 10 pounds more. Now how greedy is that?

So: location is excellent and the staff is efficient, but the rooms in the so-called suite were tiny and not particularly nice

Generally good, room for a couple of improvements

The apartment is in a fantastic location just a short walk from Oxford Street, Hyde Park and Paddington Station. It was easy to find and although we were early for check-in the staff were welcoming and we were able to leave luggage in a secure room until or apartment was ready.
The apartment itself was spacious and light, the only issues we had were a pair of children's sock / slippers still being in the single bed (implying the bed had not been changed from the previous occupants - not very pleasant), the fact that the kitchen area had no cloth's or soap / detergent type products and that the bathroom sink did not drain very well.
Towels were supplied, there is a hairdryer and I would recommend this apartment despite the minor problems mentioned above.

First night ever in the UK

Stay was for just one night - staff were prompt and helpful - they let us have our room early as we arrived 8:00am in the morning. Rooms were clean but a little cramped. Neighborhood was a little noisy with construction going on but on the other hand there were all sorts of shop, pubs & entertainment in walking distance. The rail was also just a stones throw away, very convenient. A nice stay, will return.

Handy Apartment in London

We came in to Paddington station from Heathrow and it was a short walk to the hotel, however as the name Aspen Apartment Hotel was not on the outside of the building we were a bit confused at first about where we were. The location of the hotel was great. Close to two tube lines and bus routes. Short walk to Hyde Park and the surrounding area is very beautiful. One day we walked across Hyde Park to Buckingham Palace. It took about 45 minutes easy walking. Another day we walked to Kensington Palace and the Albert Hall and the museums. Lots of restaurants and fast food outlets nearby and a supermarket.

The apartment had a full kitchen with oven and cooktop but only two small saucepans, 4 cups, 4 plain glasses, 2 bowls and 6 plates. There was no tea towel, dishcloths, washing up detergent or powder for the dishwasher. There was only one western facing window that didn't open very far and the apartment was very hot. We were on the second floor at the back. Front rooms may be larger and not so hot but probably cost more. The small fan helped but it stayed hot all night. The couch was a sofa bed and very uncomfortable to sit on.

Overall the apartment was good value for money right in the heart of London and I was satisfied. Room service came in every day with clean towels and tidied up.

Very disappointed

Rooms very hot, beds very uncomfortable springs sticking out, our bathroom ceiling and walls leaked from the room above when they had a shower, they removed lounge chairs from our room without notification and after we complained it took 2 days for them to return them. We had a studio room with kitchen but no cloths to dry or wash our dishes. Limited cooking utensil so couldn't do any cooking. We paid 7 pounds each for a breakfast that was only worth about 2 pounds everything was cold ( eg bacon scrambled eggs and sausages ) that was the all of the hot food. There were no toasters to cook any toast. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Superb location, restaurant,service can be better.

Perfect location, 2min from Paddington Station and Hyde Park. Booked an apartment. There was some confusion about booking from Expedia (i.e. Hotels.com) and they almost gave me a single room to try to fit 3 adults. Manager stepped in single-handedly and corrected situation. Be aware payment from Hotels.com takes a bit to get to Hotel but you shouldn't double pay if personnel is unaware how to work this reservation. Breakfast was great - would recommend it. Service on breakfast not so great but bearable. Get 15% with Wifi purchase in the Churrascaria (Brazilian steakhouse buffet) or 10% with hotel stay. Would definitely recommend.

Location great! Impressive on outside with RR car in front and tree line street! Large nice lobby and restaurant. Helpful employees. Less than 5 min walk to Paddington Station and grocery store (inside station). Had 2 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, and a family room/eating area. Only 4 chairs at table for family of 5. Needed more cups and other items for family of 5. Futon in family room had no sheets and wasn't comfortable for 5th family member. Doors to each room were heavy fire doors(?) and were hard to keep open. Used towels to prop them open and heavy suitcases on wood and tile kitchen floors that were slippery. Comfortable beds but not futon. Location made it easy to get to everything by metro. Nice parks close by (kids liked the one with a giant chess set). Doing roadwork in front of hotel but didn't hear any noise. Lots of places to eat on same block. Got 15 minutes of free Wifi on each device for stay and then you had to pay. My fault (family wasn't happy) since going back now I do see in one area on Expedia it says surcharge (probably should say this wherever it says the hotel has Wifi in rooms). Nice to have someone come in and clean and make up beds each day. Location and lobby presence were really great.

OK, but disappointing

The free WiFi is incredibly deceptive - it's free for 15 minutes, for the entire length of your stay. Even when I decided to pay, the payment didn't work.

Aside from that it was, overall, a bit disappointing. There was nothing majorly wrong (aside from the lack of free WiFi) but there were a lot of small things, like the blinds which were totally inadequate to keep the room dark and the tiny window which didn't keep it cool.

Didn't have my booking, weren't apologetic

The room and hotel were fine. Customer service very poor. The hotel didn't have any record of my booking. I showed them the confirmation email but they wouldn't accept this or the fact that I'd already paid therefore making me pay twice. Not once was there an apology, just a case of 'we have no record' even though I could show the booking. Not impressed.

I wasted my hoilday of London. was given a balcony room which was like a prison for 4 days/nights without any sunlight nor able to see anything from the room. I wonder how the London City Council issued a permit for them to let people stay in \"Prison\" type rooms. There were doors every where with heavy spring loaded. The kitchen was so hot. There were only 2 very small pots. I booked an apartment to be able to cook but the environment was bad, did not cook.

Great place for a getaway

The Aspen Apartments are in an ideal venue to explore central London. The staff were friendly & helpful. The rooms were clean, comfortable & the kitchen very well equipped. I'd definitely stay here again & would recommend it for any families/friends planning a relatively inexpensive trip to the city

Clean, modern, basic apartment, great location.

Our apartment consisted of one double room and one single room, modern bathroom with shower, modern kitchen with basic equipment and living room with good furnishings. The apartment was reasonably sized for the area, clean and comfortable. I would recommend it for stays of several days to make the most of the facilities. It was reasonably priced for the area and allowed us to cook our own dinner. I would stay there again if we needed to stay near Paddington.

Perfect place to stay. Nice, quiet and very clean room. Friendly and helpful staff. Less than 5 minutes on foot from the tube station. The best place I've ever stayed in London.

food quality for breakfast very poor and you can not ask for boiling eggs for example.towel and blanket and bed sheet in very very bad condition because of bad detergents and some of it damages room has very bad smile

Skøn beliggenhed, ren og pæn lejlighed. Dog slukkes varmen om natten, så der var meget koldt, de var hurtige til at finde en el radiator. Der er døre med smæk mellem alle rum, ret irriterende. Super serviceminded receptionist.

位置超棒電梯可用冬天有暖氣很溫暖房間雖小但有微波爐熱水瓶廚房可煮東西很不錯！缺點是隔音不好房間沒冷氣設備夏天可能會悶熱

住了很多次，這次有點失望

每次去英國都會在這間公寓酒店住宿，之前對一切還頗為滿意。但這次也提早預訂了，卻給了我們一間在地下室的房間，重點是在於廚房排風設備非常糟糕，導致於我們煮飯的時候煙霧瀰漫，渾身都油煙味。
櫃檯人員說明當天沒有房間可換，可以隔天早上到櫃台要求換房，第一晚熬過了，第二天早上起床就去櫃檯反應狀況，他們只是派了一個技術人員幫我們修理抽風扇，但效果依然不佳，明明飯店還有空房卻推託理由不讓我們換，讓身為老客人的我非常無言，其餘的都一如往常的還算不錯。

位置不錯，但多項設備都無法使用，讓人大大失望

優點：飯店位置不錯，距離車站距離近，附近還有觀光巴士站，從希斯洛機場過來更是一班車就抵達。
缺點：
1.廚房設備清潔度不佳，讓人不敢使用
2.廚房跟廁所都有一股味道，且床單等更換頻率很低，每天清潔就是倒掉垃圾和重鋪床單
3.訂房頁面上顯示有電梯，作為吸引訂房的條件，但到現場根本無法使用，且櫃臺人員也未主動告知其他替代方案，每天都需自行拿重物上下五樓，完全不符合預期
4.窗簾設計不佳，拉上還是從旁嚴重漏光，畏光者無法好眠

No me gustó que el ascensor estuviera estropeado, los 5 días de la estancia.
Una avería se puede solventar en 3 días.
